Kili POV

"Brother, you need to calm down."

"Calm down? She left us! She left me" I all but shouted at Fili. I let out a deep sigh, it wasn't his fault.

"Try and see it from her view laddie, her friend was hurt, badly. She wanted to make sure she was alright." Bofur spoke up from the cell across from us.

"I understand that, but she was so quick to toss us to the side, and did you see how close she got with that elf, you don't think that she would…!

"Hold your tongue brother, you know she wouldn't. You're just jealous" Fili spoke from behind me.

"But he whispered in her ear and she just does what he says. He's probably up there right now, taking what is rightfully mines."

"Do you really think so little of me?" A quiet voice spoke from the shadows.

"Lauren? He didn't mean it like…" She cut off Fili by raising her hand.

"Well, do you?" She shouted.

"Lauren, I...I didn't…" I tried to stammer out

"You didn't what, think? That's nothing new. Do you think I would get on my back for just anyone?"

"No, I just…"

"You just what? Think I'm one of your possession, well I'm not. How dare you assume that."

"I was angry, you left us!" I shouted back.

"To make sure my friend was still alive!"

"They told you she was, now look at you, you're dressed like one of them." I spat back.

"Don't you dare take the moral high ground here. Look me in the eyes and tell me if it was Fili in that bed you wouldn't have done anything to see if he was really okay."

I sat for a moment, stunned. She was right. I looked at the ground ashamed.

"That's what I thought."

"Run along, back to your little prince then, I'm pretty sure with your inexperience even he could satisfy you" I wanted to hit myself as soon as the words left my mouth.

"Lauren, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to…"

"To assume I'm a whore? How could you ever think I would do that to you? But thank you." She said softly.

"For what?"

"Reminding me why I don't like people." She ripped the clasp from her hair and threw it into my cell.

"Lauren, please. I'm sorry" I shouted after her.

She stopped at the bottom of the stairs. I took a sigh, hoping she would listen to me, but when she turned around, her features told a different story. There was no emotion, just like when we first met.

"Thorin?" She called.

"Yes?" He replied from his cell furthest from the door.

"Lilly says she misses you, now if you don't mind, I've been invited to dine in the great hall" She snarled the last bit, looking at me.

When she disappeared for view Fili smacked me on the back of the head.

"Why did you do that? You've really done it now brother." He said, shaking his head.

He was right, I messed everything up by getting jealous. She'll never forgive me now. I fell to my knees and pick up the clasp.

"Fili, how do I fix this, I can't lose her."

"I'm not sure you can"

Lauren POV

I stormed from the cells, tears in my eyes, stopping at the door.

'Come on now Lauren, get yourself together, don't let them see you cry. He's not worth it.'

I wiped my eyes and took a breath before pushing the door. Legolas who was smiling, took one look at me and frowned.

"Is everything alright, M'lady?" He said, reaching out to grab my arm.

"I'm fine." I said, taking a step back.

"Are you sure" He asked, reaching for me again.

"I said I'm fine, now leave me alone" I shouted, making him step back. He nodded and left, but not without bowing.

I stormed back in the direction of my room, taking much less time to get there than it should have. I slammed the door shut and locked it, before the tears slipped out.

'Stop fucking crying, don't let him do this to you. Stop being a baby.'

I wiped the tears away again, pulling the rest of the half done braid out of my hair.

'How could he say that about me? I was stupid to ever start something with him. I knew this would happen. So much for letting people in. It just makes you weaker. I had no problem being alone and I have no problem doing it again.'

I stood in front of the mirror, giving a disgusted grunt I tore the dress from my body and searched my bag for spare clothes.

Pulling out a pair of leggings and tunic that were covered in blood, I slipped them on before crawling into bed.

'You can't leave your mission, but you sure as hell don't need to talk to anyone. This is what happens when you change for people. You just get let down'
