A week past and everything was going great. Rumple was reunited with Belle. No one knew how he found her, or that she was locked up beneath the hospital. The beans continued to mature. Snow and Charming continued to bond with Emma, Eva was spending more time with Geppetto, but something did not sit right with Snow. Her sweet and darling daughter was up to something. Emma hadn't mentioned Regina in a while, and every day she wanted to spend time away from everyone except August. What was she doing? Snow had no idea that her daughter and August was using their time that they were supposed to be using to hang out at the park or the pier with to meet up with the Evil Queen. Well, today she would find out what her daughter was doing, because she was secretly following them.
After school that day, Snow stayed behind and watched as Emma waited outside for August. The elementary and high school let out around the same time. So it did not take long before August showed up and together they walked off from the school yard. Snow walked with a large trench coat and sunglasses, and a blonde wig on so no one would notice her and try and start a conversation. She had planned this out and did not want to blow her cover, or lose them while someone distracted her. She followed behind them and saw them enter the ice-cream shop. About 10 minutes later she saw them exit with matching strawberry triple scoop ice-cream cones. She watched as her daughter devoured the ice-cream she held in her hand as they walked. She acted as if she never had ice-cream in her life. When Emma was done with her ice-cream, Snow noticed that August had not touched his, and was appalled when he handed Emma his cone, and she started to eat that one to. It took everything in her not to march over to her daughter and take that ice-cream away, and then scold her for spoiling her appetite before dinner.
The two sat down on a bench outside the candy store while Emma ate her second triple scoop ice-cream and chatted about nothing in particular. When Emma was done, the two stood up and walked into the candy store. "Really Emma?" Snow whispered to herself mainly as she stood outside waiting for the pair to come out and see where they were going next. About 10 minutes in the candy store the two came out, and sat on the bench. She saw Emma shove a hand full of candy in her coat pocket and the rest she shoved in her backpack. Snow was planning on confiscating that later on today, as well as having a conversation with Charming, whom she was sure was giving Emma money for her sugar addiction. She watched shaking her head as Emma started to eat some of the candy. She was startled when she heard someone say her name right by her ear.
"Snow?" What are you doing?" Ruby whispered in her best friend's ear.
"Not now Ruby. I'm spying on Emma. How did you even know it was me?" Snow asked as she watched as Emma opened a chocolate bar. Snow felt tortured. She wanted to stop this, but couldn't until she found out what her daughter was doing. Maybe this was it. Maybe Emma wanted to be away from them, so she could stuff her face full of Ice-cream and candy with-out interruption.
"Why are you spying on Em?"
Snow groaned. "Go away Ruby. You're going to blow my cover. I'll explain later".
"Yeah, you will". Ruby replied as she walked back across the street and into the diner.
When Emma finished the chocolate bar, her and August stood up and continued down the sidewalk. They crossed the street and headed towards the graveyard.
"Why are they going into the graveyard?". Snow asked herself, but was startled to hear an response.
"I don't know".
"RUBY". Snow whispered angrily. "What are you doing here?"
"Same as you, spying on your daughter. Invading her personal space. She is my god child after all". Ruby grinned.
"Whatever, just keep quiet". The pair hid behind a large tree, and waited secretly as Emma and August said a couple of words to each other. They watched as Emma nodded and checked her watch as August walked over to a nearby pond and skipped rocks. Emma climbed up into a tear, and Snow did not know how she felt about that. She didn't want her daughter getting hurt.
"Aww…She's a little you. A little bandit". Ruby said in Aw.
"Shhh…"
Emma reached in her pocket and started eating another candy bar. Then another, and another, and- "Okay, that's it". Snow whispered. "Emma is never eating sweets again". Snow was about to reveal herself, but stopped when a cloud of purple smoke appeared at the bottom of the tree.
"Regina". Ruby whispered shocked.
"What is she doing here?" Snow whispered. "She is supposed to be asleep". Snow didn't know whether to reveal herself, and demand Regina stay away from her daughter or not. She watched her daughter and Regina interact.
"Good evening dear". Regina reached up, and Emma jumped from the tree into her arms. She kissed Emma on the forehead as she sat her down on the ground.
"Hey Mom".
"Mom!" Ruby and Snow repeated angrily together.
"What's all this on your face?" Regina held Emma's face up as she noted pink sticky substance and chocolate all around Emma's mouth,
"Oh, um…Nothing". Emma backed up and picked up backpack. "I have wet wipes in here somewhere". When Emma couldn't find them in her back pack she took off her jacket and turned it upside down and shook all the contents on the ground. Immediately all three adults noticed one object. One dangerous object when thrown or dumped on the ground. The magic portal bean. The ground begin to swirl under Emma, and she immediately fell into the portal.
"Emma!" Regina yelled as she grabbed Emma's hand and fell into the swirl as well. Snow quickly ran over and jumped into the portal right as it was closing, making it just in time. Ruby ran off to tell Charming what happened.
