Leia paced the length of the tiny room, but it felt like she had been pacing a great throne room. Each pass, she would wring her hands or mumble to herself, reasoning why her son hadn't yet sent his signal. It should've came by now. But there was nothing.

It had been nearly five D'Qar weeks since Ben had sent the holo, but it felt like years. She barely slept or ate full meals, every moment hoping her son would send his signal. But it had yet to come.

Ben had said it could take months for him to prepare, but surely it wouldn't have taken that long. Leia had hoped in that time that she could've reconciled with Poe after she had hit him, but every time they saw each other, he averted his gaze away from her or pretended to work to avoid speaking. Luke and Finn only spoke when necessary, most likely sensing her anxiety.

It had been too long since she had seen her son's face. Far too long. She barely recognized him in the holo. He still had the same thick dark locks and those same eyes, her eyes. But, he had long since lost his boyish features. There was now a scar extending from his jaw, up his cheekbone, and across his eye, but other than that, there was no sign that he had delved too deep into the Dark Side. No corruption or deformity, which Luke had mentioned could happen as one delved deeper into the Dark Side. Maybe he was always in her grasp. Maybe he just needed a hand to help him climb out of this dark hole, her's or another's.

Frustration grew and grew each passing day. All she wanted was to wrap her arms around him. If one were to ask her a few years ago, she might've slapped him across his face for taking such a foolish path. But, since she lost Han, she wanted nothing more than her son.

Leia was just about to sit down when the door slid open and Poe came rushing into the room.

"General," Poe rushed to her side, holding a data pad in his hand, and sat next to her. He still had a look on his face that told Leia he was still embarrassed and hurt by what she had did and he was forced to deliver the message. "General, this just came in from Fentis Kai. Here, look."

Leia grabbed the data pad from Poe's hands, "let me see that."

The blue light from the data pad shone bright on Leia's face. On it was message that read: 'GENERAL, KYLO REN HAS RETURNED TO THE FIRST ORDER. INSTRUCTED ME TO SEND YOU MESSAGE, BUT HAS BEEN TRICKY WITH FIRST ORDER MONITORING. HE TOLD ME TO TELL YOU THAT IT IS TIME.'

Leia read the message over and over, unsure if her eyes were playing tricks on her. A swell of panic rose within. She hadn't expected to hear this from Fentis Kai, only that he had been successful in getting Ben to go back to the First Order to check on Rey. But, she wondered, what has happened since Fentis Kai told him. With Snoke, Leia suspected the worst.

"Ready the fleet," Leia said without looking up from the data pad.

"With all do respect," Poe said. Leia looked up from the data pad, "can we trust this Fentis Kai? From the little I know about him, he works for the First Order."

"But, he reports to me. Fentis Kai has been a great asset to the Resistance."

"How do you know he isn't relaying your messages to the First Order? What if he gave Kyl...Ben's message to Snoke? If he's willing to betray the First Order, he may be willing to betray the Resistance."

"Maybe." Leia smirked, "but, I never have given Fentis Kai information the First Order could use against us, and I feel that Ben sensed that as well."

Poe pressed his lips together, "is this going to work, General? Or are we going to be flying into a death trap."

Leia finally looked up at Poe, "you still don't trust my son."

"I'm trying. It's hard after what he did to me. And even if he is genuinely betraying the First Order, how do we know he was successful? How do we know the First Order hasn't already set their trap?"

Leia smirked, "we don't. But we have to try. Ben will have the information we need to defeat the First Order. The longer he stays with them, the longer Snoke has to manipulate him, and Rey too. We can't allow that."

Poe nodded, no longer wanting to argue his concerns, "I'll ready the fleet, then. I'll let Finn and Luke know as well." Poe rose from his seat, not meeting Leia's eyes, and walked to the door.

Before Poe could reach the door, Leia called out to him, "Poe!" Poe turned. Leia hesitated. He knew he was still hurt, "I am sorry I hit you. It was...I...I shouldn't have done it."

The corners of Poe's lips tugged upwards. "I'm sorry too. For the things I said about your son. I know you love him and would do anything to get him back."

Leia nodded "yes, I would. I know he has done terrible things, but there has always been good in him, even at his darkest."

Kylo didn't realize he had fallen asleep. He had sat by Rey's bedside all night and had drifted off. He rose, bleary eyed. The side of his face was numb and reddened from resting his head on his folded arms. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes, still not completely aware of his surroundings.

Until he saw Rey.

Rey was curled up in the corner of the cell, her arms wrapped tight around her knees. She stared blankly at nothing in particular. Her skin was still as pale and clammy as it had been when Kylo had finished...

He didn't want to think about what had happened. What Snoke made him do.

"Rey," he whispered. He rose, his body aching and stiff. He moved slowly to Rey, on his hands and knees, and reached out to touch her face.

But she jerked away from his touch.

Kylo pulled his hand back, his eyebrows knitted. His heart dropped to his stomach and he began to feel sick. She stared at him, fire in those eyes. "Rey, I'm...I'm..."

"Sorry?" Rey huffed, "how many times have I heard that and how many times have you turned right back around and hurt me?"

"Rey, I thought you knew. Snoke..."

"You could've stopped it. You could've overpowered him. You showed me you could. You could've destroyed another machine. But you didn't, did you? You just gave up and let him win!" The harshness and cruelty in Rey's voice was something Kylo had never heard before.

"Rey, I tried. You know that," Kylo pleaded, "he's too strong." He hung his head. He had failed her. He knew he had failed her. He gazed back at that angry face. That horrible scar cut through her angelic features, much like the scar she had given him. He reached for her face. She flinched again, "Rey, please let me heal you."

Her eyes were hardened. She leaned forward, tilting her head so Kylo could see the full extent of her scar. "Why? So you won't be reminded of your failures, Kylo Ren?"

Everything dropped out beneath him. That name had never once passed her lips. It was the name he had once hoped would bring as much fear to his enemies when heard as Darth Vader had done for his grandfather.

Kylo thought back to when he first trained her. When he had become so violently angry when she called him Ben. How he threatened her. Told her she could be killed for saying that name. Grabbed her throat and she still refused to call him Kylo Ren. ("I've never called you anything else. Why hide who you really are?" She had said in her mocking way). She had refused to call him Kylo Ren. And even through everything, the pain he had caused her when he nearly killed her friends, when he unwittingly left her, allowing Hux so do such horrible things to her, she had never once uttered the name Kylo Ren. He had been so angry when she called him Ben. If they hadn't been bonded, he might've murdered her, even. But now, to hear her call him the name she defiantly refused to say ripped his heart to shreds.

And she was right. That angry scar across her face was because of his failure. But, he didn't need that scar to constantly be reminded of that.

He sat back on his heels, his head hung with shame. He opened and closed his mouth, trying to find the right words, but there were none. He had said all he could say, done all that he could do. But, he didn't want to leave her. Not this time. He had abandoned her when she needed him most far too many times.

Finally, he spoke, "Rey, I don't understand." He finally looked up at her. She was staring off into space, "what's happening to us? Where did we go wrong?"

Rey huffed, "Us? There was never us." She turned towards him, her eyes sharp. There was something about them. Something that wasn't quite human. Kylo blinked, hoping he didn't see what he thought he did. Rey leaned forward, her teeth bared "You've hurt me. You tried to kill me and my friends. You've lied to me. Used me." There were tears in her eyes, "what else have you kept from me? Why do you keep making the same mistakes and expect me to come running back to you?"

Kylo couldn't answer. It was as if all the air in his lungs had been sucked out. He didn't move for a long time. Only stared. His eyes began to water.

He had lost her. Maybe forever. The wounds were too deep. And he was the cause of them all.

Rey stared back at him. Her jaw clenched tighter and tighter as the silence between them grew. She narrowed her eyes, that scowl twisting those angelic features.

Her eyes flashing yellow. Sith yellow.

Kylo fell backwards. His heart galloped in his throat. No, he mumbled to himself. He shook his head, his entire body trembled. This couldn't be. No, she had so much light in her. Now, he could only sense darkness, a coldness that penetrated through his heart.

"Rey..." he whispered. He wanted to reach out and touch her, but was unable to. Every muscle seized, either from shock or fear, or perhaps both.

Suddenly, her eyes grew heavy and she collapsed to the floor, gasping for air. Kylo's heart jumped, but he still didn't move, still shaken from what he had seen, and confused as to what was happening. Rey's face flushed red as she began to catch her breath. She slowly rose off the floor. Kylo leaned forward, studying her. It was when she opened her eyes and saw they had returned to their natural shade of hazel that the weight he had inside of him finally released.

He leaned forward, reaching out for her, but she shrank away, "don't touch me," Rey murmured weakly, "I don't want to hurt you."

Kylo leaned back on his heels. Even on his knees, he towered over her crumpled form. He studied her as she panted on the floor, never making eye contact, "Rey, there is nothing you have done or can do to hurt me." He said, as evenly as he could manage, though the shakiness in his voice told his lie for him. He was, indeed, hurt.

Rey shook her head, tears rolling down her cheeks "you don't understand. I can't control it anymore. It's getting too strong." She shut her eyes tight and sighed, shaking her head. Kylo cocked his head. He knew she meant the Darkness, but could sense something else. Rey wouldn't meet eye contact, but nodded to the area behind Kylo, "go look in the washroom."

Kylo pressed his lips together and stared at her for a moment. He hated this. He hated seeing her like this. He wanted that short time they had on Naboo back. When he wasn't being such an asshole.

He slowly turned and rose. The washroom door was shut. His breath rattled through his trembling body as he slowly stepped towards the door. His mind was racing with what he would find, knowing that Rey's problems went deeper than what might be behind that door.

He slid the door open and took in a sharp breath.

The once-pristine washroom had been destroyed. Scorch marks radiated from a central area on the floor near the base of the sink, as if whatever had been there had suddenly exploded. The fresher in the corner of the room had been completely destroyed and laid in a heap of twisted metal and the sink and mirror shattered. Some of the dark burn marks also were gouged deep. Kylo touched the nearest gouge on the wall to find the charred material crumbled to a fine powder with just a light touch. The air rushed out of his lungs and it was all of a sudden difficult to breathe. He wanted to run. Retreat to his quarters and lock himself inside. Maybe then it would all go away. His head throbbed as he turned back to Rey's crumpled form.

Rey stared back at Kylo, her eyes glazed over with tears and a weariness to her face. Kylo's heart sank and he immediately strode forward. He wanted to hold her. Kiss her, if she'd let him. He needed her closeness just as much as she needed his. He knelt down before her and reached out, but was stopped by what felt like steel wall.

Rey's hand was outstretched towards him, her face scrunched up as she concentrated all of her energy towards Kylo. Kylo gazed up at Rey, his eyes pleading for her to let him touch her. More tears threatened to spill down Rey's face "I just want to be alone right now. Please. I don't want to be touched. I hope you can understand."

Kylo didn't want to lose this fight. He didn't want to leave her like he had left her so many times. Left her alone after Hux had violated her. After their first kiss. When he turned his back on her on Jakku. He had abandoned her when she needed him the most. And now that he refused to abandon her, she was pushing him away.

"Rey, will you please let me help you." Kylo sighed, "at least let me stay and we can talk...or not, we don't have to talk, but I want to be with you. I can't stand to see you like this. I can't lose you again. I love you."

Through the despair, Rey cracked a sad smile, "I know," she said softly. She still couldn't tell him she loved him too and it was still difficult for Kylo to understand why. Rey groaned as she shifted, her body stiff and, as Kylo could sense, weak. Her pale skin made the dark circles under her bloodshot eyes even darker. She swallowed, "I just need a moment to deal with everything myself." She cracked another smile, "I guess all those years on Jakku and never having a shoulder to cry on have stayed with me."

She still didn't allow Kylo to move to her, but he fought against the wall she put up to block him out, "It doesn't have to be like that. I'm here. I won't leave you anymore."

Rey shook her head, "Ben, please. Just give me time. That's all I'm asking."

Kylo rocked back on his heels. His heart dropped into his stomach. He knew why she rejected his help, his comfort. It brought back too many horrors. He closed his eyes tight. He had made so many mistakes. Now that he was trying to right them. It felt as if the world pushed right back and now he was paying for his choices. He opened his eyes, looking at Rey in the eyes, and nodded, "ok, I'll go." He said it quickly, not believing he had agreed. He sighed, his shoulders slumped in defeat. He needed to leave, but he didn't want to get up. She worried him and leaving Rey alone felt like a huge mistake.

Kylo leaned forward to push himself off the ground, still feeling the wall Rey put up. It was weakening, but still strong enough to keep him away. He gazed at her weary face, the tears threatened to spill down his cheek knowing that she was quickly tiring because of his reluctance to leave, "I'll get you out of here. Whatever it takes. I promise." She met his stare, raising an eyebrow. Kylo swallowed, knowing what she wanted to say to him, "I know I've made many promises to you that I haven't kept. But I will make this right, whatever it takes. All I want is for you to be safe." He began to turn to leave, but couldn't help pausing for one more glance over his shoulder at Rey.

Rey's head fell against the wall and she cracked a smile, "when this is all over, promise me we'll go back to Naboo." Her voice was weak. Too weak.

Kylo smiled back at her, reminiscing all the fond and terrible memories they shared in their short time on Naboo. "Of course," he said. His gaze lingered on her for a moment, as if it were the last time he would see her, then tore his gaze away, and walked out the door, then slammed his fist against the control panel to keep him from going back in there.

The air rushed from his lungs and it took every bit of his energy to keep upright. She needed him. He should've fought harder, should've forced his way to her and held her in his arms. But maybe that was for himself, and not her. He caught his breath, his eyes widened. For once, he realized, he was doing something selfless. He cracked a tiny smile. Before, when he was that terrible, dark monster, he would've fought to get what he wanted, regardless of what others wanted. That monster was now dead.

Kylo straightened. He knew what he needed to do. He needed to fulfill his promise. Rey didn't need his comfort right now, but she needed to get away from the First Order. The Resistance should've been on their way by now and Kylo was going to make sure the First Order wouldn't know, and hopefully wouldn't attack, until it was too late.

Kylo roles his shoulders back and strode down the corridor with a new sense of confidence and hope.

Kylo returned to his chambers after he was finished and waited. He didn't know if Rey still wanted to be alone. The best he could do now was wait and hope.

He tried to remember what Luke had told him about the Dark Side. He still wasn't sure what was happening to Rey. These moments where she would go Dark we're getting worse and when she did go Dark, it wasn't anything like Kylo had seen at all.

He remembered how the Darkness took over his life. He would have outbursts, isolate himself, and they got worse and worse as time passed. But, he felt as if he could control his anger if he wanted to. But with Rey, it felt as if she were a different person entirely.

There were still mysteries with the Force, both Light and Dark. He remembered something Luke had said about Dark Side users being able to influence others. He knew it was something Snoke could do. Snoke's guards were practically brain dead and Kylo had watched what he would do when another prisoner would be brought in to become Snoke's mindless slave. Snoke had chosen them for their elite combat abilities and boasted that he was being merciful by saving them from execution. But Kylo knew otherwise.

What Snoke was doing with Rey was different and Kylo wondered if there was something else. Snoke was powerful, but he couldn't have affected Rey from across the galaxy, not to mention he had little effect on Force users. Snoke had ways of manipulating, like Kylo had manipulated Kylo. But, the Darkness in Rey showed well before Snoke had his chance to manipulate Rey himself. There was something else at work and Snoke knew about it. But, Kylo couldn't remember what Luke had told him that could give him a clue as to what it could be.

Kylo rose from his seat, frustrated that his memory was failing him. He needed to go to Rey. There had to be something there.

He was about to hit the control panel when he felt it.

He paused, gazing around the room to pinpoint the exact location of the presence he sensed. He sensed another, as well. They were in bay 10 and moving fast. No alarms rang out announcing the intruders' presence. Kylo smiled. He had disabled several of the security systems, but had kept them appearing functional to avoid suspicion. The officers on the bridge would see a seemingly functional radar screen clear of approaching ships. As for any stormtroopers posting guard...let's just say he had a talent for mind tricks.

Finn was careful to duck behind every object he could. There was no telling who was watching. The bay was dark, except for the dim security lights. His palms were slick with sweat and he had trouble keeping a hold on his blaster. His heart pounded harder with each passing moment. His breath rattled and he wondered if he was too loud. He hadn't been back to the First Order since he helped Han destroy Starkiller. Every moment he was there was another moment he could potentially get captured and he knew perfectly well what would happen if he were captured.

He was about to sprint to the next object when his heart almost stopped when two dark figures strode by.

Finn pressed himself to the wall and froze, but his terror quickly melted away into annoyance.

"What are you doing?" He hissed to Luke and Poe as they walked toward a corridor adjacent to bay 10.

Luke paused and smirked at Finn over his shoulder, "going to get Rey."

"But what about...?!"

Luke laughed quietly to himself, "how exactly do you think we were able to dock without so much as a comm from their officers?" Luke paused to turn to Finn, "besides, look around. Have you seen one stormtrooper?"

"You mean besides himself?!" Poe laughed.

Finn scowled at the two, "but what if your nephew missed something? I just have this feeling..."

Luke walked over to Finn and placed a hand on his shoulder, "Finn, these feelings are normal and you should trust them, but your feelings right now are rooted in your fear of what the First Order can do and that can cloud your judgement."

Finn stared at Luke for a while. Luke was right. This was Finn's fear. After all Finn had seen with the First Order, all they would do to make sure all of their troops would stay in line.

Finn nodded silently. Luke cracked a reassuring smile and turned to head down the first corridor, his cloak swishing behind him. Finn and Poe followed behind.

They were down the first corridor when Finn froze. A group of white-clad stormtroopers were standing guard. This was it. They were going to be caught and executed. Finn's heart hammered as Luke strode right pass them unnoticed. Finn glanced at Poe and saw that he too was stunned.

Luke turned back to them, "don't worry. They're under Ben's control."

Finn moved forward reluctantly, "the entire ship?" He realized how ridiculous it sounded. How could one Jedi control an entire ship of people?

Luke chuckled, "it's a big ship and he only is controlling what he needs to control." Luke winked, "I'm helping out as well." Luke turned and walked pass the troopers. Finn resisted the urge to read their numbers, not knowing if any of these troopers were a part of his former FN squadron, or if they were all dead.

Finn and Poe were more at ease knowing the troopers had been under Jedi control, or whatever Kylo Ren was. Soon, Luke guided the group through the maze of corridors into the heart of the ship. Finn wondered if their luck was running out, if they would get to a part of the ship unaffected by mind tricks, or if there were other troopers, like himself, that couldn't be so easily persuaded.

The trio had just rounded the next corner when a tall dark figure emerged from the shadows.

Even Luke drew back and ignited his lightsaber. Poe drew his blaster, as did Finn. Finn's heart slammed against his chest as the shadow loomed over them, one hand outstretched. It was just the Finn realized the figure had stopped Poe from shooting. Poe stood there awkwardly, uncomfortable, and frozen.

Luke held a hand up, signaling for the others to stop their assault. "You need to release him, Ben. He won't shoot."

Poe immediately let out a gasp as his body was released from the hold. Finn put a hand on Poe's shoulder, to which Poe responded, "I'm okay."

Finn then turned his attention to the dark figure as he stepped into the green light of Luke's lightsaber, towering over the trio.

"We need to move quickly." Kylo Ren (or was it Ben Solo, Finn thought) said. Finn noticed a slight change in the man who had tried to kill him. He no longer appeared pale or as if he hadn't slept in weeks. He looked younger, healthier. And Finn was glad to see this man not stare at him as if he wanted to drive that lightsaber of his through his heart.

Kylo Ren led them down several hallways without anymore words. Finn had to take an extra half step for every long stride Kylo took just to keep up. As they moved further into the ship, Finn's mind slowly went at ease. Any stormtrooper they passed ignored them. Finn took this time to study Kylo. Though he looked better, Finn couldn't help but notice that instead of that straight posture, shoulders rolled back and fist clenched tight that Finn and the other stormtroopers were accustomed to, Kylo's shoulders were slumped slightly, his hands relaxed, and he averted his gaze to the floor. Finn could sense something was troubling him and Finn's mind immediately went to Rey.

The silence soon became unbearable for Finn and he needed answers, "What is going on with Rey?"

Kylo stopped dead in his tracks and Poe had to do what he could to not run into him. Kylo gazed at Finn as if he had just been accused of something awful, "how did you know?"

Finn shrugged, "I just...felt it."

Kylo pressed his lips together. There was a sorrow in his eyes Finn had never seen and Finn immediately feared the worst, "I'm not sure, exactly. It started when I first brought her here. She would...go Dark. Just for a few moments. She would pass out and then wake up fine, as if nothing happened, but she seemed weak. I tried taking her off ship. To Naboo. But, she's been slowly getting worse and..." Kylo trailed off. There was a distance in his eyes. Finn thought for a moment he saw tears.

Luke placed a hand on Kylo's shoulder, "we'll get through this."

Kylo appeared as if he was on the verge of tears, "what is wrong with her? Please...tell me."

Luke sighed and Finn saw that the subject made him uneasy, "This was my greatest fear. That Palpatine's essence would begin to change her. I sensed it in her all those years ago, but it was weak and easily manipulated. I'm surprised it remained dormant in her for so long, but I'm afraid it has been unleashed and Snoke will do what he can to make her even more susceptible if we don't get her off of this ship.

Kylo shifted uneasily, "has done." He corrected. "Since we returned, he has done terrible things to her."

Finn listened as Kylo quickly told the story of how he was summoned away from the ship and the vile things Hux had done and how Kylo returned to an already-broken Rey, and Snoke forced him to put her through conditioning.

Finn, for the first time, truly felt sorry for Kylo. But, the person at the front of his mind was Rey and he began to dread seeing her in her state.

Luke stared off in the distance and Finn knew what Kylo had told him troubled him too. It was like watching someone whose life's work came crashing down, as if all those years had been wasted. Finally, Luke spoke, "we must keep going. We don't have much time."

The four men pressed forward, following Kylo Ren down the maze of corridors. The men moved quickly and silently, blasters drawn and Luke's lightsaber ready.

Kylo finally halted in front of a door and pressed in a code. Finn knew where they were. This was a holding cell for prisoners. He wanted to yell at Kylo, but stopped short as he realized Kylo had been trying to keep himself and Rey under cover, and still failed.

The door slid open and Finn, as much as he was eager to see Rey, didn't want to see what she had become.

The room was ice cold and had a musty stench that wafted in Finn's face. Kylo stepped inside first, followed by Luke, then Poe, and lastly, Finn. Finn kept his head down, unable to bring himself to see her.

He halted next to Poe, all four men stood in a like a couple meters from the far wall. Finn slowly and reluctantly raised his eyes and his heart immediately sank.

Rey was leaned against the wall, curled into a ball. Her face was so pale and sallow, her skin stretched right over her cheekbones. Her lips were chapped and pale as well. Her eyes were ringed with red and dark purples circles and Finn couldn't help but notice the angry scar across her right eye, much like Kylo Ren's. She didn't give any indication that she had noticed the four men enter the room, but she was awake.

"Rey," Finn whispered. She glanced up at him, her eyes were so heavy and she appeared too weak to hold up her head. Finn's knees went weak, but he stumbled forward, wanting to do nothing more than hold her.

Rey gave him a weak smile, "hey, Finn," she croaked hoarsely as if her mouth and throat were filled with sand.

Finn stood right in front of her, gazing down at her in disbelief, then sank to his knees. It was like all hope was lost. Every last bit of air had been torn from his lungs and his body went numb. She stared back at him with dead eyes. Her mouth stretched into a smile, what she could manage of one, at least. Finn raised shaking hands and cupped her cheeks. She was like ice. She inhaled sharply at his touch. Finn could hear Kylo Ren behind him, shuffling his feet, perhaps jealous.

Finn bit his lip, unable to speak, barely able to breathe. He stroked her face with his thumbs, hoping some warmth and glow would return to her cold, clammy skin, hoping that she would soon get over this and be the Rey he had first met on Jakku, lively and full of spirit. His first true friend.

"We don't have much time," Luke said suddenly. Finn turned. Luke's eyes were wide. He stared from Rey to nothing in particular, as if he could see some far off danger no one else could, then his eyes returned to Rey, "we need to get her away from here. Before it's too late."

Finn saw Kylo Ren flinch, "what do you mean, too late?" The color drained from Kylo Ren's face. He began to move to Rey.

"Snoke isn't the only one doing this to her, but he has an influence on her. We need to get her out of here. I can sense her Darkness. It's growing and I'm afraid it won't take much to do her in and seduce her to the Dark Side."

Finn rose and Kylo took quick strides to Rey and scooped her in his arms. "We're going to get you out of here. It'll all be over soon. I promise."

Rey didn't say anything. Poe and Finn drew blasters an headed out the door first, followed by Kylo Ren, with Luke bringing up the rear. Finn's brow was slick with sweat as he ran down corridor after corridor, instinctively checking corners, though the stormtroopers were still under Luke and Kylo's mind control.

They finally made it to Bay 10. The Millennium Falcon was just meters away. He was finally going to get himself and Rey out of there. Even if she loved Kylo instead, all Finn wanted was her safety. He was so close. could taste his own salvation, and Rey's. His heart thudded with joy as he was only a couple meters away from the ramp to the Falcon.

And then that joy was gone.

Three stormtroopers, never mind where they had come from, stepped in front of him, blasters drawn. Finn skidded to a halt, as did Poe. The two nearly fell. He could hear Kylo and Luke's steps slowing behind him. Finn aimed his blaster at the stormtroopers and almost squeezed the trigger when a familiar, droning voice boomed from behind. "I was hoping you would betray me, Kylo Ren."

Finn turned to see the tall, slender, decrepit Supreme Leader Snoke, flanked by General Hux. A sinister half smile spread across his rotten face, "because now, I will show you just how deep the Dark Side goes."
