The assault continued as Videl and Frost dodged one another's blows until Frost managed to land a kick on her side. Ignore it. She took another to her leg which made it feel numb. Ignore it. Frost threw a punch that she caught as Videl slammed her onto the ground and pinned her there. Smirking afterward with no grace or measured aim she unleashed a series of punches not caring if they connected as Videl was lost in awe of her speed and strength.

Dust had shot up everywhere blinding her as she stopped her assault. Is she down? From the cloud of dust she seen Frost's head before it collided with hers as she fell down onto the ground in a haze. I have to get up! As she tried Frost's foot hit her in the midsection driving the wind out of her. She gasped and accidentally breathed in the dust causing her cough and gag while Frost stared down at her. "What makes you so special?" She rolled Videl over onto her back then slapped her before continuing. "What does he see in you? I just don't understand.

My beloved doesn't have a selfish greedy bone in his body. If anything he's selfless to a fault. Could it be that he finds weak women attractive?" Frost slapped her once more and seemed to wait for a response. Videl smiled. "He's not attracted to weakness, though from your point of view I doubt you'd understand." Anger flared in Frost's eyes as she attempted to slap her again. Videl caught Frost's hand, then flipped her onto the ground and kneed her once in the stomach then caught her on the chin with another knee as Frost fell backwards from it.

Videl climbed atop of Frost and slapped her twice. "I'm not weak, you are. I never had to resort to mind control to get Gohan to love me. Gohan and I have made love. You on the other hand have raped. You are warped and twisted beyond repair. The feelings I share for him are real and genuine, yours are manufactured. Even if I had your ability to read minds it doesn't take much to guess that you had lonely a childhood. You were neglected weren't you?"

Frost's eyes glowed magenta. "Bite your tongue off!" Videl slapped her. "Yeah, you probably were. I heard that you were told that Gohan was supposed to be yours. I guess he was supposed to be the person that would shower you with all the affection and attention you desperately craved as a child and an adult. Tell me, what do you know about Gohan?" Frost gaped at Videl, surprised to find that her command was ignored. "How did you-"

From out the corner of her eye at the last second she noticed that a body had struck the ground not far from them. The figure stood and patted the dirt off his long coat and pants. He waved at her. "Videl, is she dead yet?" Frost's head turned to the sound his voice as Videl saw her eyes glow. "Run Sharpner!" He didn't as she turned Frost's head around and gouged out an eye. Frost screamed and before Videl had enough time to be happy over what she'd done a beam shot out of Frost's mouth blasting her a short distance away.

As Videl struck the ground she noticed a small aircraft land near Gohan as two women stepped out of it. That can't be…Videl sat up then flew over to the women as one rested Gohan's head in her lap. She stopped then looked down at her left arm which was covered in his blood up to her elbow. Chi-Chi and Bulma, how am I going to explain this? She turned around to find Frost speaking to Sharpner then back to the two women. I don't have time for this! "What are you two doing here?!" Bulma met her eyes. "We're trying to save his life!"

She reached into her pocket and pulled out a case opening it and tossing a capsule on the ground near Chi-Chi. After the smoke settled a multicolored flower appeared. Chi-Chi picked it up and placed it on Gohan's chest. "Is this going to save my son?" Bulma came over and knelt studying his gaping wound. "It's a miracle that he's even alive right now. I think he's fighting to stay alive. The flower seems to have stopped his bleeding and is slowly mending him but I don't think he'll make it. This flower doesn't work the same way Senzu beans do. Moving him at this point isn't an option." Videl finally looked down to see him. He was pale and shaking slightly but all his attention was focused on her. Videl choked back tears and turned away from him.

"Silver, Violet, Grey, Erasa and Lime I want you to blind yourselves and focus on my voice." The Red Ribbon soldiers stood and had flesh where their eyes should've been. Even though we've practiced this before the sight of them like this still irks me. "Sharpner has been compromised. I need you to protect Gohan. Remember how I taught you how to sense Ki? You'll be able to find him easily." Videl stepped forward as the Red Ribbon members walked passed her.

She stood in front of Frost and Sharpner. Videl crossed her arms. "Why didn't you attack me?" Frost scowled. "You were next to my beloved; I couldn't and wouldn't do anything that would put his life in danger. Is he okay?" There's still blood running down your face from where your eye used to be and you're asking me this? "I honestly don't know. All I do know is that if I don't kill you soon I can't save him" Frost smiled. "My darling is still alive, that's all that matters." She turned to Sharpner and continued. "Help me kill this petulant earthling."

Videl looked at Gohan one last time. His shaking had worsened and his eyes were slowly closing. "Gohan, please hold on for just a little longer." His eyes shot open once more and he smiled. She returned it then advanced on Frost and Sharpner. Attempting a flying kick toward Frost it was blocked by Sharpner. With the momentum she had left Videl turned and kicked him in the back of the head. Frost managed to strike Videl in the side perfectly using him as a distraction. Videl tried to strike her but was stopped again by Sharpner who now held her in a full nelson. Energy gathered in Frost's palm as he held her. The ball of energy was the size of a beach ball and steadily continued to grow in mass as Videl struggled to get free.

Frost laughed contemptuously as she watched Videl's attempts to free herself. She threw the ball of energy towards them as Videl used the back of her head to strike Sharpner in the jaw which loosened his grip, elbowed him in the midsection, and then threw him into the energy ball. The blast enveloped his body as both Frost and Videl were thrown a short distance away. While she was on her back looking up at the blue sky she heard Chi-Chi's screams mixed with weeping. She slowly sat up. No…Videl stood and walked over to Chi-Chi and Bulma as the Red Ribbon soldiers let her pass. Gohan was motionless and his eyes were closed.

"Bulma…he's not…he…he can't be." Bulma wouldn't meet her eyes. Bulma turned as tears ran down her face. Videl shook her head denying the possibility. She cleared her mind and tried to sense his energy but couldn't. Gohan really is dead. She stared at her left arm. What can I say to Chi-Chi, how can I ever apologize to her for what I've done? Videl walked out of the protective circle of the Red Ribbon soldiers then fell to her knees feeling sick and weak.

She closed her eyes and tidal wave of memories attacked her as she seemed to be witnessing them again from a different point of view. The first time she met him, the mystery, the chase, his rescues and his energy and flying lessons. In between all that I'd come to terms with the fact that I was beginning to feel more than "like" towards him. I just didn't know how to express it then because I was scared. Videl hugged herself and began weeping as her memories continued to assault her. Seeing him at the World Martial Arts Tournament and remembering how happy it made her to have him there.

Watching his face go red as she got closer to him all the while taunting Sharpner and learning about Gohan's friends and family. She'd fought Spopovich soon after and nearly died only to slightly wake up once in his arms and again in the infirmary where he later came with a bean that saved her life. She remembered telling Gohan how much she trusted him then felt awestruck seeing Gohan as the Golden Fighter then helpless watching as he was attacked.

I fought so hard hoping that we'd be able to meet each other in the finals and face our parents. I wanted so much to do that with you. I thought I was going to die and you saved me again. Then I saw you in so much pain, it looked like you were going to die. I couldn't help you then and I still can't. Videl turned and found Buu still motionless. Is this it? Am I really so useless? I have all this power and I don't even know how to use it. The memories continued.

Gohan was healed and they flew off together where she learned more about him as the whole truth was revealed about her father then later hearing of his supposed death and not believing it as well as the events that came later that day. The moment he told me the truth my heart belonged to him. I thought I could save him for once. I thought…Videl's arms dropped to her side as a scream of pain, anger, frustration and sorrow left her. "It wasn't supposed to be this way! Oh Gohan, I'm so sorry!" Videl looked down in time to see a beam heading right for her. She jumped out of the way as the beam grazed her side. Frost slowly moved towards her noticing the tears coming out of her one good eye. Frost stopped and gathered more energy around her finger. "You've killed him. How could you?" Frost fired another beam as she dodged it. Frost continued. "You may think that I've done horrible things to Gohan but I never hurt him…intentionally. I did what I did out of love. You'd never be able to understand."

Frost fired beam after beam as Videl continued to dodge and get closer to her. I'd never understand? Videl ran through five more of her beams and got close enough to place her right hand on Frost's throat as she lifted then punched her in the gut with the other. Wind was driven out of Frost's body as she gasped. Her body seemed to go limp but Videl struck her again. She felt oddly calm. "You think I don't understand? You think I don't know what love is? I'm never going to forgive myself for what I've done today but it was the right thing to do." She struck her again, and then ran two fingers into her other eye as Frost screamed. Videl continued.

"I love Gohan enough to kill him. Don't worry though, if there is any conciliation to be had from all this he will be brought back and when he is Gohan will be free from you." Videl ripped off Frost's tail and as she was about to scream again Videl slapped her cutting it off then went on. "I take no pleasure in this. The death I had in mind for you was going to be fast but only after I'd somehow knocked you out and attended to Gohan. Now…" She ripped her left leg off then the right feeling nothing as she looked at Frost then took off Roshi's sunglasses then ripped off Frost's arms dropping what was left of her to the ground. Videl noticed that Frost was still breathing as she watched her. Light gathered around Videl's finger as she unleashed a beam that went through Frost's stomach. She screamed again but was still alive. Just in case.

Videl turned her back on Frost and walked towards Bulma and Chi-Chi. "It's safe to have eyes now." The extra skin covering their eyes was gone as many of them blinked a few times trying to get adjusted to the brightness of the sun. Erasa turned away while the others stood silently over Gohan. Lime rested a hand on Videl's shoulder. "I take it that it's over now?" Videl nodded and pointed at where she left Frost. "Yes, what's left of her should be over there." Silver, Violet, Grey and Lime walked over to where Frost was while she looked at Gohan's body.

Videl knelt and hesitated to do anything at first before Chi-Chi turned to her. "I guess you're wondering why we're here, or at least more of the story. Vegeta told Bulma what Gohan's plan was and in turn she told me everything. I tried calling Gohan thinking that Bulma's story was a horrible joke but I realized that it was the truth." Chi-Chi ran her fingers through her son's hair and continued. "Videl, what happened to my boy?" What can I tell her? That lizard over there killed your unborn grandchild and raped your son? That he gave me a letter asking me to kill him? She remained silent. "Videl..." Bulma began. "She's a strong woman, tell her. She can take it. You'll end up hurting her more if she can't understand how it came down to this."

Videl looked into Chi-Chi's eyes and found resolve and strength in them. She above anyone else deserves to know the truth. She took a deep breath and told her everything. During some parts of the story she saw anger in Chi-Chi's eyes directed at her while other times they were focused on Frost. Near the end all she saw on her face was the look of defeat. "We really wouldn't have been able to do anything. Frost would've controlled my husband and all the other warriors if they'd have jumped in without thought like they always do. My son thought it through and his plan worked because of you."

Videl held Gohan's limp hand kissing the back of it then brought his hand to the side of her face. She looked down at his chest and noticed that the hole there was nearly closed. Videl gently laid his hand down and rested her head on his chest listening for anything. She'd received puzzled looks from Chi-Chi and Bulma but went on regardless. A minute passed and there was nothing. Two minutes passed and still there was nothing.

Just as she was about to give up she heard his heartbeat twice then stop. "Bulma, listen to his heart." Videl moved then watched as disbelief and shock played out on her features. "It's erratic and unsteady but it's beating, just not consistently. I don't know what to make of this other than the flower is sustaining, maybe even reviving him somehow. He's still not breathing but I think there's a chance that we can heal him. This is amazing." Videl looked at Gohan and smiled. She felt warm and happy. We'll be together again.

Silver walked over to her. "I take it that something good happened?" Videl nodded. "We think Gohan will be fine." Silver looked over Gohan's body and shrugged. "I've never seen that flower before but if works like the Senzu beans do then I guess he'll be alright. In other news Frost is dead. She stopped breathing a short while ago. Grey and Violet have already taken care of her remains while Lime has decided to return to space as Frost. That way we'll have some kind of way to monitor what's going on out there."

Videl stood and found that none of Frost's remains were there. Not her tail, arms or legs. There were only bloodied spots where the parts of her were and nothing more. Frost is dead, there's no way she could've survived that. Could she? "Mr. Silver wh-" Silver was already in the air. He saluted her and flew off. She turned to find Erasa standing over what was left of Sharpner as his body was slowly reforming. Videl walked over to him. His eyes met hers and whatever hostility she saw in them before was gone. He looked away. "I'm sorry for trying to kill you, I'm better now. I really am. I had no control at all." He's back to normal; I guess she is dead which means Gohan should be himself again. I hope. "I believe you." Videl sat and watched over Gohan.

Twenty minutes had passed when Buu finally managed to stand and make his way to them. The pink creature was badly beaten but still had its jovial nature somehow intact. Buu looked questioningly at her. "Buu heal now?" Videl smiled once more and nodded. "Yes. Buu heal now."

Author's Note - I wonder how many of you forgot about the flower from the earlier episodes. If you know these characters well enough you might be able to understand the significance of that flower. If you already have then pat yourself on the back, you're awesome. If not, that's fine it will be explained in the next episode which will be the last followed by the epilogue. Thank you for reading, peace.
