Chapter 36: Slow Execution

Ayame went off to buy tomorrow's needed ingredients for the restaurant. Teuchi was left with the remaining costumers. Their shop has really boomed when they came back. Too bad they're going to leave it again soon. She sighed. Suddenly she bumped into someone.

"Sorry..." they said in unison. Then they looked up and stared for a long time.

"Ayame..." Ayame quickly tried to dodge the man. But the man was quick and he caught her.

"Ayame please... talk to me..."

"What is there to talk about Yamato?" She angrily asked.

"Why are did you leave the village?"

"Nothing that involves you." She lied.

"Is it because I didn't spend more time with you after that accident?" Yamato continued to prod. Ayame whirled angrily around.

"Accident? You call that accident? Ha!"

"No... no... What I mean is... it was beautiful and the most wonderful night I have-" He was cut off by a raging Ayame.

"Well, guess what? I don't care! And that night?! That was nothing, nothing to me! So if you'll excuse me!" She said as she started to stomp away from him. But she was stopped once again.

"I... I was looking everywhere for you. I was so broken when you left. I was a walking dead when I found out you're gone." Yamato said in a low, sincere voice. Ayame can't help it, after all those years of being away from him, this man can still make her weak.

"You didn't even gave me the chance to-"

"SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP!" Ayame shouted. "I don't want to hear any of your excuses again, ever!", and with that Ayame run off, completely forgetting to buy the groceries. She went to the shop immediately.

"Ayame?" Her father inquired. "What happened? Why are you crying?" Ayame didn't answer, she just simply hugged her father tightly and cry in his chest.

Ren was keeping the Hokage busy. The young boy had been unknowingly helping her execute her plans.

"You should come and visit with Dad someday!" Ren exclaimed excitedly. Naruto chuckled.

"Yeah... I'll do that. Then maybe I can teach you some of my old time favourites; Kage Bunshin Technique." Ren gasped.

"Naruto..." Hinata called. "How about you spend the dinner with us? Ayame and Teuchi won't go home tonight. They're going to redecorate and refurbish the store soon so they're planning on earning extra income by opening 24/7."

Naruto gave an apologetic smile, "I'm sorry but I was planning to eat dinner with Sakura tonight. I have sent someone to tell her earlier and..." Hinata gave a disappointed expression.

"Oh?" She sighed, "I have cooked for 3 persons already and I don't think Vali would be home tonight either." She sighed again.

"Well, I can just cancel the dinner date with Sakura. I mean you've already cooked. We can't just spoil that can we?" Naruto smiled. Hinata smile too.

'Yes! Everything is going according to plan. I need to lure Naruto to myself and I don't need that pink-haired woman to interfere with my plan' She said to herself.

Sai went to the bar. He just felt the need to drink.

"Sai..."someone familiar said. He turned around to see Kakashi.

"Oh hey Kakashi! And it's Vali now." He said then he slurped the bottle of wine. "What do you want?"

"What do you want?" Kakashi asked back again.

"Psshh... I asked first so you answer first."

"I want you to stop doing whatever you plan to do."

"Well, what if I don't?"

"I don't want to do this but you'll have to pay for your crimes if you won't stop."

Sai snorted, "That's funny."

"Vali?" A feminine voice called. She quickly went to him and looked back and forth between him and Kakashi.

"Temari..." he said. He then pulled her closer to him and hugged her; his head leaning to her chest. Temari blushed.

"Sai... back off..." Kakashi silently warned. His tone was dangerous and his eyes piercing. He doesn't want Suna and Konoha's alliance to break just because of this man.

Temari waved his hands infront of Kakashi, 'It's okay. I'm going to take care of him from now on until he sobers up."

Kakashi took that as a sign to exit. So he backed off but still he lingered longer in case Sai cause trouble.

Sakura had been waiting for hours in Ichiraku. Where is that dumb Naruto? She swears he's going to smack him in the head for being late.

She looked around the room. At one point she saw the same familiar, longing eyes; the one that belonged to her lover. She quickly snapped away from it.

Naruto doesn't seem to be coming anyway, might as well take her leave. So she left Ichiraku in a hurry. And in her own apartment, she sighed. No... That love wasn't really meant to be.

Kakashi stopped at Ichiraku after hours of watching Sai and Temari. When nothing happened for 2 hours, he decided to leave and meet with his former student in Ichiraku.

"Kakashi-sensei..." Kakashi can't help but grin.

"Based on your appearance, you seem to have just come. Are you following your sensei's footsteps?"

Sasuke eyed him in disbelief. Kakashi laughed a hearty one.

"Tch. Just report. It's late already, isn't Shizune-san going to be worried of you?" Kakashi immediately stopped and became serious. It is a well-known fact that Kakashi loves Shizune so much that he's scared of upsetting her even of little things. Plus, Shizune is pregnant. Plus, Tsunade would surely kill him if ever he upsets his wife.

"They were really planning revenge. I think it would not be physical, rather an emotional attack."

Sasuke slapped his forehead. "This is going to be much harder to put a halt to."

Naruto smiled as he watched Ren sleeping soundly, the boy's head on his lap.

He then took a glance on Hinata. The girl is obviously sleepy but too stubborn to give in. He quietly chuckled to his self.

They had a nice dinner. Actually, it was so fun. It was like he had a family; talking animatedly about his adventures, Ren gasping in awe with every word he says, Hinata smiled at their exchange. Sometimes, Hinata would add food to their plates when she noticed both boys have eaten a large proportion of their meal, other times she refilled their glasses with water or juice or whatever the boys choose.

Then Ren exclaimed they watch a movie. It was of course the boy's favorite. They all watched the movie in the living room whole eating some snacks.

Ren had fallen asleep after 25 minutes of the movie's airing. It was reasonable since it's already late and Ren seemed to have spent the entire day with Yamato.

He yawned. He felt sleepy too. Then he felt something heavy lean on him. He smiled. Hinata had fallen asleep. Her head was leaning on his shoulder. He smiled wider. Then he yawned again.

'I'm so sleepy. I guess it would be okay if I sleep here with them.' He said to his self as he yawned again one more time. He closed his eyes and leaned his head towards Hinata's.

Hinata smiled as he felt Naruto's head lean on her's. As expected, Naruto thought she was asleep.

Yes. Hinata was sleepy alright. But not sleepy enough not to notice that Naruto had fallen into a peacefuk slumber. Hinata made herself comfortable as she too drifted to sleep. Yes. Everything is according to her plan.

So.. slow execution of plans, eh? What do you think? And have you read the latest manga? I have not but tumblr is full of spoilers and I found out that Shika's condition isn't stated... instead a inspirational speech and flashbacks are shown...

Not very surprising... since Kishimoto loves to troll the readers... but... it's fine... yeah... at least no one died this week... I can go on a little longer...

Well... I am quite hurrying right now cause I have a class at 7:30 and I have to travel 45 minutes to get there... and I am going to be late and I'm sleepy... gwarsh! We have a reporting first thing this morning and I am not prepared... research papers are due soon and I have done nothing... gwarsh!
