Author: It has been awhile everyone and I know those of you who are new are probably waiting for the end. Well finally I found my muse and am proud to announce the next chapter. Truthfully I think there will only be three more chapters but I have been wrong before. (And it's my story too….) So without further hesitation please enjoy!

Chapter Thirty Five

Danny couldn't believe how everything had gone wrong. Their plan had literally blown up in their faces. Dodging bullets and plasma blasts Danny couldn't help but search for his friends in the fray. Jazz was off to one side holding her own fighting back to back with Valerie. Another glance found Skulker and the Box ghost brawling in the center of the room a large number of bodies collecting around them. He wasn't able to see Tucker but Danny was sure he was off somewhere with Technus watching over him. Reaching for the weapon, he'd managed to grab off one of Vlad's men, Danny fired shot after shot at any ghost that came near him. As he fought his only goal was to get to Vlad and end this once and for all.

-Three hours earlier-

After their little "talk" Vlad had ordered some mindless ghosts to bathe him. Something he fought with every fiber of his being. Unfortunately for him Vlad had taken extra measures and hooked a collar around his neck that suppressed most of his powers. So he was basically helpless as they scrub him from top to bottom. Somehow he managed to snag his old clothes before they were taken away and burned. Sure they were full of holes and covered in dirt, but they were a reminder of his old life. Something more priceless to him then the many jewels he was being adorned with. Vlad wanted him to look like a prize, and by the time they were done he did.

Danny felt like he was going to be sick looking at his reflection.

He didn't have time to contemplate the absurdity of the outfit he was wearing as he was rushed out of the room once they were finished. They led him through the many halls and corridors of the castle. A few he recognized from his time with Tucker, others he couldn't imagine where they led. When they finally reached their destination Danny was hardly surprised it was a throne room.

The room was packed with humans and ghosts alike. Some Danny thought he recognized, others were complete strangers. The one thing they all shared however was the look of utter terror in their eyes. That was all Danny could see however as he was led to the front of the room where Vlad stood on a stage towering over everyone. When he saw Danny a smirk lit up his face twisting it into something horrible.

"Ah our main guest of honor is here at last," Vlad announced as Danny's escorts bring him to stand in front of the man.

"What is all this?" Danny demands as the ghosts leave to join the crowd around them.

"Why Daniel it's your big debut! Tonight I announce my claim as the rightful ruler of this pathetic world. And you my dear boy shall bear witness to it," Vlad answered dragging Danny onto the stage with him.

Looking over the man standing in front of him Danny couldn't help but notice that something was "off" about Vlad. There was a sort of mad gleam to them that made him uneasy. Looking closer he noted that Vlad's clothes were rumpled and several strands of hair had escaped from their usual tamed state. To Danny he looked like a man standing on the edge of a cliff. Determined to fall and take down everyone he could with him.

"It is time to send our regards to the world Daniel," Vlad said before signalling the camera men to begin rolling.

A large screen appeared behind them as the cameras began rolling away. People around the world shuddered as the man responsible for their ruin and destruction captured their attention.

"Ladies and Gentlemen of the world! Today I stand before you to take my rightful place as your ruler!" Vlad began, "This world as we knew it is gone and now I stand before you to lead you into a world of peace. For too long we have fought one another in wars that have only led to more wars. From this day on that shall end! With me as your ruler there will be no need to fight one another. We shall usher in a new age!"

Danny couldn't help but feel disgust settle in his stomach over the other man's words. I fit had been anyone else saying them he might have felt they truly wanted the world to change for the better. But the man speaking them wanted nothing more then to turn the world into his possession, along with every living (and nonliving) being in it.

"As proof of my power I present the "Savior," many of you have hoped would come," Danny had been so lost in his thoughts he hadn't noticed Vlad had kept on speaking, "This young man some of you may remember as Daniel Fenton. Son of the late ghost hunters. Others know him by a different name. One that I am sure all of you have heard at some point in time. I introduce my consort: Danny Phantom!"

Vlad grabbed Danny by his neck sending a shock through the smaller man. Danny couldn't explain what the other had done but the next thing he knew he was being forced to transform. The breath was knocked out of him as the rings slid across his body. When it was over Vlad removed his grip allowing Danny to fall to his knees. After he had caught his breath he glared at the older man his eyes promising pain.

"You see your savior kneels before me! There is no hope left for any resistance! The world shall be mine and I shall be its king!" Vlad cackled his laughter echoing in the silent room.

Swallowing harshly Danny scanned the room praying that Tucker would arrive soon. He didn't know how much longer he could hold himself back. A hand wrapped itself around his hair and jerked him to his feet the sensation drawing him from his thoughts. Gritting his teeth he could only bite his tongue as Vlad led him to his throne.

"And now I shall make an example to demonstrate my power. I introduce the other guest of honor for this evening. A woman that my consort knows all too well. Please welcome Mrs. Manson," Vlad announced after throwing Danny into the chair.

Danny's eyes grew wide as the floor separated revealing a cross that slowly rose into the air. The figure of a young woman was strapped to the wooden planks her head hung as shocked whispers filled the empty silence from before. Danny tried to jump up only to have chains wrap around his torso and keep him pinned to the marble throne.

"Vlad you bastard let her go!" He shouted throwing all this strength against the metal.

"Now Daniel that is no way to speak to your king. You just sit there and watch as I removed the last obstacle between us," Vlad said talking as if Danny was four and didn't understand what was going on.

"Leave her alone! I'm the one you want!" Danny yelled as Vlad turned away from him, "She has nothing to do with this!"

"Where's Tucker!? He should have freed everyone by now!" Danny couldn't help but think struggling to get free.

"Now watch as the past goes up into flames to lead the path to our new world!" Vlad announced before he transformed himself and formed a ball of ghost fire in his hands.

Danny couldn't believe what was happening. The woman he had loved for so long was now in front of his eyes and he could do nothing as death approached her.

Slowly Vlad allowed the fire to drip from his hand, the flames licking at the wood. Before they could catch Sam let out a low groan before opening her eyes. The first thing she saw was Vlad standing in front of her with a crazed grin on his face. Then when she lifted her head higher she spotted Danny watching her with fear in his eyes. Fear for her.

"Danny…" She groaned her whole body feeling like lead.

"Sam!" Danny shouted.

"This is the end!" Vlad cried as the flames began to rise.

That was the exact moment the doors to the throne room were thrown open. Jazz and her people streamed through the doors along with Valerie and the others. Danny could honestly say he had never been more glad to see his sister in all of his life. Before he could say anything however the windows around them burst open as Johnny 13 and a horde of ghosts entered the room.

That was probably the moment everything went wrong.
