In case you skipped the last chapter; Verity and Pogue did the deed. Moving on swiftly.

Chapter 35.

A faint buzzing bought Verity around from her sleep. She smiled as she looked up at Pogue, who was already awake and looking down at her, smiling back. She ached, but it felt good. She felt good. Leaning up she gave him a kiss and the buzzing started again.

"Is that my phone or yours?" She asked, inwardly cursing the object.

"Don't know, don't care. How are you feeling?" Pogue stroked her cheek with his thumb gently.

"Never better. You?"

"Just perfect." He leant down and kissed her softly, not wanting to get too carried away. "One of us best answer their phone though."

Verity rolled her eyes and smiled as she leaned over to where her trousers were discarded on the floor and rummaged through the pockets and found her phone; it was Tyler calling. She held her breath and leant up to show Pogue the call screen; his reaction was identical. They stayed still and silent, neither knowing what to do. Pogue nodded as the phone continued to vibrate. So she did.

"Hey. I was just about to call you." She said meekly, Pogue running a hand through his hair tensely.

"I've been trying to get hold of you all afternoon! Where have you been today? I heard you were sick. Are you okay?" Tyler was panicked and annoyed at her day long silence.

"Yeah, I'm feeling better. I just really need to catch up on some sleep I guess. Can I see you tonight? It's important." She looked at Pogue and he squeezed her hand, unhappy at what she was having to do; but they were right for each other and they needed each other.

"Sure. You want me to pick you up and we can get some food?"

"No, I'm not that hungry. Can you come to my place in about an hour?"

"I can do that. DO you want me to bring you anything?"

"Just yourself. See you in a bit then?"

"Yeah, see you in a bit Verity."

Verity quickly hung up the phone and sighed, looking saddened at the consequences of her actions.

"I guess I have to get home. Will you call me later? Please?" She looked lost, afraid and sad. Pogue took her in his arms and kissed the top of her head.

"I'll call you as often as you want. I'll come by as often as I can. I'm here for you. It's going to be hard but I'm here Verity." He soothed. Knowing, deep down, things were going to become difficult and they were both about to face an unknown amount of pressure.

"If I keep moving in to this house as quiet as possible for as long as possible, we'll stand a chance at having somewhere we can just be together until things settle down?" She hoped, wistfully.

"We could try. We should get going, I need to take you home and be gone."

Silently, they both re-dressed and slipped out of the house the way they had snuck in and walked down to Pogue's bike in the fading daylight.

"I need to get you home. Hope on, take my helmet." Pogue held out the black helmet that he had hung on the handle bars. Verity shook her head.

"I can walk, the air will do me good." She replied- he wasn't happy about her decision.

"It's getting dark Verity, please. It's a ten minute ride. I'll keep you safe; I promise." She sighed and nodded.

"Okay, but don't go too fast. I don't want to wet myself Parry!" She took the helmet and Pogue helped her to strap it up underneath her chin.

"I promise you won't wet your pants." He smiled and put the visor down and got on to his bike, holding it steady while Verity climbed on the back. She laced her arms around his waist and held on tightly, cringing as Pogue started the roaring engine and began to steer the bike down the lane, being very cautious to make sure that she lent in the right direction at the same time as Pogue.

Ten minutes later, Verity reluctantly dismounted the bike; she had actually enjoyed the roaming countryside and freedom of being on the bike. It was almost addictive!

"I think someone had fun!" Pogue took the helmet back from her, smiling at her.

"I did. I can see why you enjoy it so much!"

"I didn't go too fast for you then?"

"Nope! In fact, next time you could speed up a little." Verity grinned.

"Who says there'll be a next time Miss Hanes?"

"Well I do, Mr Parry! You have me hooked."

"You only want me for my bike." Pogue pretended to be sad, but Verity smiled and kissed him gently.

"You know that's not true." She reassured him.

"I know. You better get inside. Call you in a few hours?" She simply nodded.

"I'm sorry if things get rough. I wish-"

"I know. I'm sorry too. Look, do you want me up there with you? We can just bit the bullet and get it over with."

"DO you think we should?"

"It saves dragging it all out. If it were me, I'd want to know. I don't want to lie and hide Verity. I want to be with you no matter where we are and whose around."

"If you think that's best then I guess. You know him better."

They both looked around; Verity's parents were obviously not home yet, hopefully they wouldn't be back to see their daughter hurt her boyfriend in the worst possible way. Pogue got off his bike and Verity went through her messages and decided to text her mother.

"What time are you guys home? I'm sorry I baled on you. Promise tomorrow I'll be around for the whole day. X" Hopefully that would ease any repercussions her disappearing act would bring upon her.

She took Pogue's hand and walked with him up the stone stairs to the kitchen door and let them both in; surprised to find it open.

After they were inside, Pogue found a note taped to the fridge and read it out to Verity; "Miss Hanes- we will see you for dinner about 9. Something came up and your mother let her phone run out of battery. Left door unlocked as you didn't take bag or key. Hope you're craving Chinese. From, you parents. " They didn't realise we were in the house at all I guess." He smirked. Verity walked over to him and pretended to punch his arm.

"I'm surprised they didn't hear you hollering the place down!" She laughed. He turned to her put her in a gentle headlock.

"You mean they didn't hear you screaming? You really can't control the noise levels when you lose yourself, can you?" They laughed. The play fight escalated and Pogue pinned her up against the fridge and kissed her deeply, the pair losing themselves in heated attraction. He slid his hand up the back of her jumper and stroked her bare skin, she groaned and tugged at his hair gently.

And then the sound of a car engine pulling up was heard; they looked at each other and then over at the clock on the wall. Whoever pulled up, had arrived earlier than anticipated.
