Disclaimer: I don't own anything but Phoenixand Thorne
Phoenix was still annoyed with the boys as the trio ran toward the mountain, with the blonde girl still following them but she was a little further back now. She was currently running about ten meters in front of them with Thorne in her arms, silently fuming to herself, she still couldn't believe that the boys let themselves be sucked in like that.
Phoenix knew that she wasn't angry at the boys, but it was more of the fact that they got hustled with nothing to show for it. Thorne nudging against her chin in concern and made her shoulder's slump, she couldn't be mad at anything when her dragon was so sweet.
Sighing, Phoenix slowed down a little, so she was only a few feet in front of the boys, silently letting them know that she wasn't angry at them anymore. The blackette could hear Killua's quiet sigh of relief and could feel a smile creep onto her face at that. No matter how mad she got at the boy he could always make her smile.
"We got nothing?" Killua asked the two now that they were all together and running downhill.
"We lost out clothes, and now we're totally broke." Gon said sadly.
"Damn, they're mocking us!" Killua added annoyed at the whole situation.
Phoenix bit her lip to stop herself from saying anything, knowing that she would just say something along the lines of them being naïve.
Gon seemed to try and see a brighter side of things as he told his friends, "But once we get past the mountain, we'll find lots of monsters, right?"
"That's what the shopkeeper said." Phoenix nodded as she looked over her shoulder at the two and gave them a small smile before turning back and focusing on not tripping over her feet.
"Yeah. If we beat them and turn them into cards, we can sell them for lots of cash." Killua added.
"We finally get to start fighting!" Gon exclaimed excitedly, not that Phoenix could blame the brown eyed teen, she was excited to fight some monsters too.
"Time to see what you've got, and to see what Phoenix is capable of too." Killua mentioned since Gon and himself don't know how strong Phoenix was since the only time they had seen her fight was in the hunter exam almost a year ago.
"Ditto. I wanna see what you've accomplished during your secret training. I can't wait!" Gon replied.
Phoenix giggled. She didn't know just how strong she was compared to the two boys or if she was even stronger than them in the first place. She felt giddy about showing off how much stronger she's gotten since the hunters' exam, normally she wasn't too keen on showing off but this time she couldn't wait.
"You're going to be impressed, Gon. I know I am." Phoenix said, bragging about Killua's electricity ability that she watched him create.
Looking over at the fluffy haired teen Phoenix couldn't help the sweet grin on her lips as she saw that Killua was blushing brightly at Phoenix's comment about his nen ability.
Finally, the trio ran out of the forest and stopped at a cliff that overlooked a very rocky valley. Phoenix could only imagine what the valley would look like at sunrise and sunset with the sun casting shadows everywhere, she was sure that it would be a beautiful sight and something the young teen wanted to see one day. Maybe she'll bring Killua to watch with her.
"This area is rocky…" Gon observed.
The three shared an eager grin between them before jumping over the cliff and starting to run down the slightly slanted cliff side, leaving a trail of dust behind them.
"Let's go!" Killua shouted.
"Yeah!" Gon agreed.
Phoenix didn't say anything just laughed happily to herself as Thorne climbed his way inside her tank top and sat against her back, holding onto her bra from behind so he wouldn't fall.
Once the three were on the ground again, a bunch of giant cyclopes starting to peek around tall stone pillar formations to stare down at the three running toward them.
"There are tons of them!" Gon commented with excitement in his voice.
One of the cyclopes stepped forward, lifting a giant wooden club above its head before swinging it down, trying to hit the three. All of them jumped out of the way, and Gon jumped straight up and punched the one eyed monster in the cheek, but it didn't do any damage Phoenix noticed from the rock she was crouched on.
Phoenix watched as another cyclopes tried to crush Killua with another club, but the teen just jumped up and started to run up the monster's arm before jumping and kicking the cyclops's eye. The young girl blinked before smirking to herself when the one eyed monster started to yell in pain and turn into a card.
"Bingo!" Phoenix heard her boyfriend yell out to both her and Gon, "The eye is the weakness."
With the weakness confirmed Phoenix started to run toward the cyclopes, passing Killua as he told Gon about the monster's weakness. Jumping into the air Phoenix kicked off one of the stone pillars and propelled herself straight toward one of the cyclopes eye, which she punched with a nen covered fist.
Falling down Phoenix grabbed the card and called her book out and quickly put it into one of the free slots before going to attack another one, leaving her book out so she wouldn't have to keep calling it out every time she beat one of the cyclopes.
It didn't take long between the three of them to defeat all the cyclopes and collect a few cards between them, but they left quite a few of the cyclopes just lying on the ground once they turned back into cards, not wanting to fill their free slots with only cyclopes.
"Weaker than they looked." Killua said, disappointed once the three regrouped together.
Phoenix nodded her agreement as Thorne climbed out of her top and sat on her shoulder where she gave him a scratch under the chin.
"The card reverted after we left it alone for a minute." Gon noted.
"We can do this." Killua exclaimed with a clenched fist in front of his face, "The monsters come with weaknesses. If we stay calm and think, we'll be fine. Okay, lets head for Masadora, then."
"Yeah!" Gon readily agreed as he followed Killua who had started to walk away.
Phoenix sighed as she caught up to them, "We still need to be careful though, we don't know what kind of monsters are here or what their weaknesses are." The young teen warned them.
The three were stopped in their tracks when a giant purple spotted lizard monster stood in front of them, looking at the three with hungry eyes. Phoenix didn't even think before running in the opposite direction from the giant Lizard, knowing that Killua and Gon would be following her. Thorne was digging his claws into Phoenix's shoulder trying to stay on before Phoenix reached up and brought her baby dragon into her arms, so he didn't fall off.
The two boys seemed to have been thinking the same thing because a second later they were running behind Phoenix screaming as the giant lizard started to chase after them. Quickly the three came up to an area where the rock formation was tighter, the perfect place for them to hide from the purple lizard.
Only after the lizard went passed their hiding spots did the three let out a sigh of relief. That relief was short lived when something jumped to the right of them, the three snapped their heads towards it, thinking it was the lizard again, but it was only a fuzzy black ball thing with eyes, skinny legs and a tail. The fuzz ball only came up to their knees.
The black fuzz ball suddenly jumped and the next thing they knew Gon was hit in the face, causing him to fall onto his back.
"Gon!" Phoenix and Killua called out questionably, concerned their friend was hurt.
Gon stood up straight and looked at his friends with a smile, "I'm okay!" He assured them, "That didn't hurt. This one's weak."
The three looked up at one of the rocks in front of them and saw the black fuzz ball standing there before it took off again and started to jump around them quick enough to only become a blur. Phoenix was even having a little trouble following its movements.
"It might be weak but it's fast!" Phoenix exclaimed as she held Thorne closer to her chest to protect him in case the fuzz ball tried to attack her dragon.
"Let's catch it." Killua suggested as the two boys tried to catch the fuzz ball while Phoenix moved behind them to get out of their way. She would have helped her friends but protecting Thorne was her priority right now.
Phoenix watched, amused as the two boy's frustration grew more and more with each failed attempt at catching the fast black blur. She could understand their frustration, but it was still funny to see them not being about it catch it, they were even getting hit at the same time, she was too but she barely noticed.
What she did noticed was the blonde girl from early was looking at them from over a rock a little way away from them. The toxic green eyed girl was a little confused but chose to shrug it off, the blonde wasn't doing anything or getting in the way, so she didn't see the point of making a fuss, even though she looked like she was rather annoyed with what the boys were doing right now.
After a while the fuzz ball ran away from them, probably having gotten bored with them. Now the three were running as they tried to make their way to Masadora.
"It got away from us." Commented Gon with slight disappointment.
"Well, it won't take very long to reach Masadora if they're all weak. By the way Phoenix, is Thorne okay?" Killua asked, turning to his girlfriend and their baby dragon who was sitting on her shoulder again now that they were only running slowly.
Thorne made a happy little growling noise as if to say that he was okay making the two parents chuckle to themselves, "He's okay, I made sure the fuzz ball didn't hit him." She stated proudly.
Killua nodded, happy that the two were okay, even if the fuzz ball was weak, he didn't know if Thorne would be okay with getting hit since he just a baby after all.
The three stopped after running for a few minutes when a weird horse walked in front of them. Its mouth was very round like a pipe, it had no mane, but its tail was a pale yellow and basically a big fluffy ball, Phoenix thought the colour of the horse was pretty weird too, it was an off white with a jagged purply red stripe going down the middle of its face.
The weird horse stopped and looked at them before puffing out his cheeks and released a bunch of red and white bubbles towards them.
"Bubbles?" Gon asked confused before the white bubbles started to explode from touching them, letting out small shock waves that didn't do any damage but scared Thorne enough to climb into the back of Phoenix's shirt again.
"It's gone…" Killua trailed off when they looked up and saw the bubble horse had disappeared. Poking one of the white bubbles and causing it to explode with a loud bang, the white haired teen turned to the two next to him, "It's loud and generates a shock wave, but it doesn't do any damage."
Gon the poked one of the red bubbles which just bounced off his finger, "When you touch them, the red ones don't pop." As he said this the bubble touched one of the rocks and popped.
Phoenix looked at the bubbles having a strange feeling about them and sent Nen into her eyes to use Gyo. Looking around Phoenix was surprised to see the white bubbles were surround in an aura like when someone uses Zetsu and the red bubbles were like they were in a state of Ten. Phoenix decided not to tell the boys because she had no idea what that even meant as the three started to run again, away from the bubbles.
Thorne stayed in the back of her shirt as the three ran around the valley as they were chased or encountered the monsters that lived in the valley.
The next monster was a giant worm with sharp teeth that chased them when they went through a cave. Next was a hovering pink box with tentacles, they just poked it as it floated around. The three had to run away from a swarm of bugs next, Phoenix was going to just set them all on fire before the boys ran away, dragging her along with them. After that some weird green blobs that repelled any kind of physical attack they tried, they were kind of cute in Phoenix's opinion.
Lastly the three ran into a silver knight whom was holding a sword and shield.
"This one looks tougher." Gon commented.
"Gyo!" They suddenly heard someone scream out to them. Looking behind them, they saw that it was the blonde girl that had been following them since Antokiba. "Keep your eyes on it! Use Gyo. Don't you know how? I know the girl does!" The blonde's voice echoed down at them.
Phoenix was a little confused that the blonde knew that she knew how to use Gyo but then remembered that she used it when they encountered the bubble horse, the girl must have been watching them the whole time.
Turning back to the silver knight with Gyo activated, the three saw that a string of nen was controlling the knight and it was coming from the left, behind some rocks.
"See that?" The blonde girl asked them, "The armours just a puppet, so attacks won't work against it."
Phoenix only had a moment to admire the blonde's skill level to use Gyo from so far away before the silver knight started attacking them with its sword. The three jumped away before Gon ran off to fight the thing controlling the silver knight while Phoenix and Killua stopped it from going after their friend.
Suddenly the silver knight fell apart, Gon must have caught whatever was controlling it. Gon ran back to his friends and showed them the card, it was a cute looking pink animal thing, it looked rather small.
"I got the card!" Gon said happily.
Suddenly the blonde girl jumped down so she landed next to the three friends who quickly looked at her, "So you can use Gyo. Why didn't you use it before? And why did you only use it once?" She asked pointing at Phoenix when she asked her last question.
Phoenix scratched her cheek nervously, not used to being scolded, especially by a stranger who only looked a few years older than herself.
"Uh, well…" Killua trailed off awkwardly not knowing what to say.
"Yeah…" Gon mumbled not knowing what to say either. Phoenix didn't even try to say anything as Thorne climbed out of her shirt and onto her shoulder again.
"So, you forgot." The blonde sighed to herself before holding her finger up for some reason. Without even thinking Phoenix activated her Gyo and saw that the girl was creating the number one with her nen, something that Feitan used to do with her when she was just starting to learn Nen. "Why are you just standing there? Gyo!" She asked the boys impatiently, seeing that Phoenix had already activated her Gyo. "What do you see?" The blonde asked once the two boys activated their own Gyo.
"The number 1." The three answered together.
"Good." The blonde acknowledged, "Listen up, if I lift my finger, you use Gyo. And then you holler out what you see. If you ever sense anything suspicious, use Gyo. Got it?" The girl commanded the three who were a little confused about what was going on.
"Wait, why are you ordering us around?" Killua snapped, not liking the idea of this girl just coming and telling them what to do.
The blonde didn't answer just pointing her finger up. Since Phoenix still had her Gyo activated she saw immediately that she was creating the number 5 with her Nen.
"The number 5!" Gon and Phoenix said at the same time, although Gon shouted it with enthusiasm while Phoenix just said it quietly as she finally deactivated her Gyo.
"Correct." The blonde nodded before pointing at Killua, "Drop and give me two hundred push-ups."
At this Phoenix furrowed her eyebrows, as much as she was starting to like the blonde, she didn't like that she was trying to tell her boyfriend what to do like that.
"Huh?" Killua asked even more annoyed then before.
"It's your punishment! Get to it!" Was all the blonde said.
"What the hell? Why should I?" Killua asked ticked off.
Phoenix stepped back a little with Gon as she could feel her boyfriend about to explode and the blonde seemed to become rather annoyed too, it would probably be safer to just stand back a bit for the moment and let them hash it out.
"Got a problem?" The blonde asked with a slightly annoyed tone.
"You bet!" Killua admitted, "Who do you think you are?" Phoenix would actually like to know that too.
The blonde suddenly smiled brightly, "Oh, I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm the pro hunter Biscuit Krueger. I first learned Nen forty years ago. I'm going to use my wealth of knowledge and experience to coach you guys. You should feel grateful."
But all Phoenix could feel at the moment was complete shock. She was the opposite of Leorio, while he looked a lot older then he was, Biscuit looked a lot younger then she was. Phoenix could barely even process that, so she almost missed her two friends shocked yells.
"Forty years ago?!" Gon shouted.
"You're an old hag!" Killua mocked.
Phoenix didn't even try to stop Biscuit as she upper cut her boyfriend away into the sky because honestly, if she was in the blondes' shoes, she would have done the same but probably burnt him instead. So, Phoenix just watched her boyfriend as he went sailing into the sky before slowly looking at Biscuit with slight amusement in her eyes even if she was secretly concerned for Killua.
A/N: Here you all are, I hope you enjoyed. I'm so happy that Biscuit is finally in the story, she's one of my favourite characters in the whole series and I can't wait to write about her and for her and Phoenix to create a bond.
A BIG thank you to LolforeverxD from Quotev, for being my amazing editor!
FFAB: Phoenix is actually a little shorter then Gon at 152.5cm or 5ft. Gon is 154cm or 5.1ft and Killua is 158cm or 5.2ft. So, Phoenix is actually the shortest out of the three.
Answer from the last chapter: Look above at some of the things you guys asked. I've made a list of the things you guys want to know, and I'll use that for the FFAB section so keep asking and I'll keep telling you guys in that section.
The question of the chapter: What kind of bond do you want Biscuit and Phoenix to have? Mother and daughter bond, sister bond, teacher and student bond or just a friendship bond?
Thank you for reading my fanfiction, I love you guys.
Please follow, favorited and review, I would really appreciate it
