Dance In The Rain
Chapter 37: This Has To Be A Dream
It's been 3 days since I heard Austin say he loves me. It's been 2 days since I visited Amy for the first time in years. The other day was a blur, it was like Austin was trying to avoid me. It actually hurt, but maybe I was over thinking things.
I didn't realize how comforting the sound of the waves were until now. I was sitting down on the sand, with my blue jean shorts and my white top with red flowers scattered all over it. I had my eyes closed, just enjoying the sound of it when I heard music from a guitar.
I opened my eyes and turned to see Austin, walking towards me with his guitar. Strumming some chords, trying to act very nonchalant about everything.
I turned my attention back towards the waves, except my eyes were open this time. He sat down next to me, and we were quiet for five minutes.
"So?" I said,
"So? Um, how have you been?"
"Me?"
"Yeah."
"Well I've been decent." I admitted,
"How was visiting Amy?"
I bit my lip, "It was actually nice."
"Did you remember to give her the rock with her name on it?" he asked, I smiled.
"I did," he put his hand up for a high five and I awkwardly high fived him back, he chuckled.
"How have you been Austin?" I asked, now looking at him. He was looking at the waves this time.
"I'm good, I've just been trying to get a job." He admitted,
"Have you tried applying at Sonic Boom?" I asked, he shook his head.
"Cause you know Dallas works there and he could probably help you get a job." I admitted, he nodded his head.
"Speaking of Dallas, have you heard about him and Kira?" he said, sounding hesitant to ask.
"I actually have," I admitted, smiling at the thought. Dallas and Kira had actually talked about their feelings two days ago and they became official just yesterday. I remember getting the text from Dallas, She likes me! Then the next text was, She said yes to being my girlfriend. I was so happy for him.
"You're not upset?" he asked, "Why would I be?" I said. He pursed his lips, "I thought you liked Dallas," he admitted, looking at me.
I smiled a little, "Sure I thought the guy was cute, but that was it. After our date, we both admitted that we just wanted to go on a simple date just as friends." I admitted, "Really?" Austin asked incredulously.
I nodded my head, then grabbed Austin's guitar. I tried to play some chords and pluck some strings but it all sounded so bad, Austin was just laughing at me.
"Don't laugh at me, I'm trying!"
"Here let me teach you," he said,
"Psh, I can learn on my own you know." I joked,
"It doesn't look like you're learning well on your own though." He said,
I playfully slapped him on his shoulder, "Hey, I'm just being honest." He said,
We both started to laugh, he was suddenly behind me showing where to put my fingers on the strings and he moved my arm trying to play a chord but my arm ended up being more dead.
He chuckled then grabbed my hand and I felt my face burn up. I hoped he wouldn't look at my face, If he did he would know.
He strummed a chord that was barely there, "You just have to press harder." He admitted, "I know it just kind of hurts." I admitted. "Yeah, that's normal but you'll get used to it." He said,
I continued to practice for ten minutes and finally I had gotten the G chord down, I turned to look up to him to thank him but I didn't realize how close he was.
Suddenly the sound of the waves had stopped, and the sky was a lot brighter and blue behind Austin. I didn't realize how brown and beautiful his eyes were, they looked like they were getting closer. I was frozen.
Closer and closer, I think I stopped breathing. Then as naturally as it was, I closed my eyes and his soft lips were on mine. I pursed my lips a little more, and for five seconds our lips touched and I felt like butterflies jump around in my stomach, they were no longer flying.
We both pulled away, and then we looked into each other's eyes. I was so astonished, I didn't know what to do. He kissed me? He kissed you Ally! Why did he kiss you?
"W-Why?" I stuttered, still surprised. He pursed his lips then smiled, "I can't hold this back anymore Ally. I love you." He said,
"S-So you saying that in your sleep wasn't a mistake?" I said, he looked at me surprised. "I said it in my sleep?"
"Yeah when you were sick, you said…" I didn't know whether to say it or not but he looked so attentive.
"Ally, I love you. Be mine." I finally said, and he turned red. "I did?" he said, looking down rubbing the back of his neck. I giggled a little and nodded my head.
It was quiet, and Austin kept looking down. My heart was racing, but I knew it was the right thing to do. "Austin?"
He looked at me, his eyes stuck on me like it was nothing.
I bit my lip, "I just want to say, I love you too." I said,
He grinned, "I was so nervous when you didn't say it back." He said, I smiled and looked towards the waves.
I turned to look back at Austin, when he pulled me in for a hug. "I love you so much Ally, I love you. I love you. Be mine." He said, with so much joy.
This had to be some crazy dream, it was too good to be true. Because Ally Dawson would not say what I was about to say, "I'm yours Austin." And he hugged me even tighter. I felt like my heart was going to pop out of my chest from joy.
Please, no one wake me up. I'm happy just being here, in his arms.
So the next chapter may be a little awkward, because Ally receives the talk. But just know that this story is almost coming to an end, just about 4-5 chapters left. Thank you guys for reading and reviewing! It's much appreciated, thank you lovelies for reading (:
