Time to feel the Heat.

With no hesitation, Grinder lifted his left arm with the saw and punched out the upper glass half of the door. The garbage dumpster had a wheel blown out, and it was about half full. Wolfe raised his gun at the camera and blasted it so it could not record more than it needed to.

WeeeeeeeeRoooooooooooWeeeeeeeeeeRooooooooo!

Crescent, Grinder, Jacket and Houston all pushed at the same time to get some space between the dumpster and the door. When that happened, the saw revved up and Grinder cut the metal bar in the middle then kicked it out. Squeezed out of the gate then shoved it more of it out of the way so the rest could at least shimmy their way out.

Grinder bared his teeth under his mask.

RoooooooooooWeeeeeeeeeeRoooooooooWeeeeeeeee!

Houston jogged for the sewer system and quickly looked inside. "He took the bags!"

"Get them!" Grinder walked in front of the back street that leads to the street in front of the building. He turned around to see how the Payday Gang would react.

"Boss?" Wolfe stood between the sewer manhole and alleyway to lead to the street.

Crescent stared at the ground for a second. 'We need the lien.' Crescent took out his scroll as those bags had tracers implanted within them, the map of the city streets and the dot that moved at into the streets.

"Grinder, when this is over, you WILL explain what is going on. Let's move!" Crescent sprinted through the alley as the rest followed. At the street, two police cruisers zoomed by as a Van made a hard-left turn at the end of the block.

At the end of the block, there were two cruisers set up with signs of a roadblock. The sidewalk had more than confused civilians. The Payday Gang came out the alley as they sprinted onward. The sun behind them with the concrete as the left turn would be in the shade of a red brick building.

"It's like they knew!" Houston shouted as the crew made the left turn Mathew Harson's van made. Three uniformed officers and two Templiers attempted to move a crowd back. Being beat cops, each was armed with revolvers as the droids were of a lighter bulk and fully dressed frames.

"Get back." An officer waved. The Templier on his right mimicked his actions then the back sparked and turned around as it fell. It saw the clown masks in the shade of the building that charged at them.

Houston jumped on the trunk of a car then placed his right foot on the roof of the vehicle. The FAL leveled at the targets ahead. Two cops were stunned as the Templier was tackled by Jacket as Crescent put three electro rounds in the last cop.

The Templier drew its revolver as Wolfe took its arm and forced it to aim at the asphalt. From there, Crescent's sickle blade lobbed its helmet off. The Templier remained on its feet as the crowd scattered.

An elderly woman did not move fast enough out the way and by result cut off Crescent's direct path. She screamed then reached into her purse.

Crescent checked his scroll map. The dot went straight then made a hard-right turn two blocks ahead. Jaune noticed that there was a right turn a block away and if they rush through, they could catch up to the van. "Make a right at the end of the block!" He put the scroll in his pocket and continued to run. The elderly woman remained still in utter fear.

"Look out!" Crescent shouted as he would have walked around her. She took her hand out with a small object then a puff of liquid squirted into the mask. "AAARRRGGGHHH!"

Crescent got past the lady but slowly walked to a wall and angled his arm to support himself. "It burns!"

The woman made herself scarce by the time Houston caught up. "It really burns!" Crescent stomped his foot from the constant stinging that assaulted his eyes. It took several seconds before he could open his eyes again. At the rim of his eyelids, there were bits of orange that had the juices flow back to his eye.

Wolfe, Grinder and Jacket were half a block ahead. It was unbearable, but Crescent jogged and shook his head multiple times. "Ahhhhh!"

"Come on, boss." Houston saw the crew make a right turn into a coffee café.

"Take the scroll!" Crescent stuck his arm out which Houston grabbed then pocketed. He jogged on and made sure that Crescent would not be cut off.

"We have to keep moving."

It was a four-way turnoff. The left turn and forward streets were just blocked off by police cruisers with beat cops. The Heisters fired at them but only hit the cruisers. Jacket had live rounds loaded that forced the cops to take cover. The right turn was a long street that had some sewer line repair construction. Hollow concrete cylinders arranged out as two dozen civilians heard the gunfire.

"Get down!" Grinder waved at some of the people.

"Get the FUCK down!" Wolfe kept his eyes onward. Heavily armored police vans were on the other side of the construction. Five of the civilians immediately turned on their scrolls and took videos of the shootout. A brunette woman shouted but got into a corner of which she pointed her scroll down the left side of the street as the Payday Gang entered a firefight with Pilsen PD.

The human and Faunus police shouted at people to get down. While they did that, the Templiers put themselves in front of the humanoids then adjusted their programs for crowd control aim. Instead of semi-auto fire, they were forced to single fire. Grinder, Jacket and Wolfe were on the left side of the road then fired at the Templiers. On the right side, Houston offered support as he guided Crescent.

The police vans cracked open to deploy more droids. The blue and green tipped police Templiers came out with shields. Programming dictated for these machines to get in between the danger and civilian evacuation.

A Templier came out of a cylinder then fired a shotgun at and blasted the end of a concrete gate. It puffed out and revealed a small bit of metal underneath. Grinder flinched from the shot and counter-attacked for it to fall back into the cylinder.

Above the city, was a security camera for a building, it zoomed in and saw the Payday Gang cleave through a Templier squad as they took little damage themselves. It panned out to see on the other side of Crescent use single shots when it came to the police forces. Houston watched the groups' flank as a Templier squad appeared down the path they left. It paid attention as the Payday Gang was forced to stop mid-way through this street.

Two Shield Templiers each spaced apart with SMGs in hand. Jacket took cover behind a concrete pot that had a bush in it, and Grinder placed his back against an armored van and Wolfe jumped into a dirt hole from the construction site. In a way, it also felt like a foxhole.

Templiers fired their guns once the civilians were cleared out to a nearby turnoff. There was nothing that the team could do as they returned fire.

On the other side, Houston had the cops on their rear flank back. Crescent still grumbled in pain but felt his sight returned.

"GONNA BREAK SOME SHIT!" A Templier Bulldozer boasted as it walked along the wall of Crescent's side. If he were to get to a corner and return fire, he could be exposed to the center of the street and get himself killed. So he stayed back then noticed two shields approach the rest of the crew.

"Hey get down guys, get those shields in the open." Crescent uttered as he swapped the magazine from electro to live rounds. He could see Jacket, Grinder backing off as Wolfe covered them. When that happened, the Shields moved up with a squad behind them.

"I got this." The Clarion clapped on for several seconds. A kneecap of a shield blasted out and forced it to take a knee and it turned to the gunfire. When it was exposed, the other Shield stopped in place. The squad noticed Crescent then returned fire. Bits of concrete blasted out from the cover he used.

Two Templiers were still aware of another half of Payday Gang and walked onward to keep the pressure.

"YOU-" The Bulldozer shouted as it walked through the street. It was green with a pump action shotgun in its arms. "JUST MADE A VERY BAD MISTAKE."

Houston jogged on along a wall and saw the Templiers rally themselves. He aimed at the exposed ones. A Templier in the back cracked its head to the left then to the right. The back antennas pulled back then went straight up. From there, the Templier lifted its weapon up and fired into the back of the squad.

Houston lowered his gun as he focused on the scene. "What?"

The second shield collapsed to it knee then the torso ripped open from the gunfire. The remaining Templiers fired back at the traitor. It fell apart from the bullets with the left arm severed. Several seconds after, Wolfe and Jacket rushed the exposed position and finished off the squad. The way was clear for the next ten or so seconds.

"Nice shooting Houstatron!" Wolfe shouted as they got out from their side and noticed the squad and Bulldozer closing in on them.

"Get your head down." Grinder shouted as he leveled the Negev.

"GIVE UP AND MAYBE I WON'T STOMP A MUDHOLE IN YOUR ASS!" The Bulldozer shouted as it turned to the enemy targets. The hailstorm of bullets tore into several Templiers in front of it as the Bulldozer took one step forward. Bullets scrapped the armor. The metal sparked as the Dozer fired a buckshot into the Payday Gang. Jacket got clipped on his left shoulder and took cover. The next shot aimed at Wolfe who got shot center mass and took a step back but fell over anyway.

Grinder mounted his bipod and unleashed near the helmet of the Dozer. The bullet shell casings rolled to the street.

"HA! I GIVE THIS GUY FIVE SECONDS!"

"Oh shit." Grinder pulled the Negev back. The heavy footsteps approached.

"FIVE."

Jacket leaned up and he applied pressure to his shoulder. He glowed for a moment to seal the wound.

"FOUR."

Wolfe noticed a Templier squad move up behind them. He got on one knee then took a deep breath and sprinted to cover.

"THREE."

Houston sprinted to the middle of the construction and looked up. He saw something that could help.

"TWO." The Bulldozer started to walk around the Grinder's cover.

Crescent looked up to see Houston outline an object above.

"ONE!" The Dozer showed itself. He pumped the next shell out.

"Heads up!" Houston shouted.

The Bulldozer did not see a gas cylinders rain from above from a metal crate. Two of which that landed on the shoulder of the thing. A cylinder fell on the back of the helmet and forced the back end to pull back in a dazed state.

Jacket stood up ready to take the thing down. A gas cylinder cracked in front of him that let air escape on the opposite side and launched directly into his abdomen. He launched back by twenty feet and rolled over several times.

"Sorry!" Houston shouted while he jumped on the back of the Bulldozer and pulled the helmet back for the inners to be completely exposed. Grinder saw this opportunity and stuck the Negev in there for the gun to do what it did best. The Bulldozer stood there then had the helmet crack out of place. Houston got off its back and used his left leg to push it over.

Houston jogged over and offered a hand to Jacket. Once he got to his feet, Jacket clenched a fist and implanted it into his stomach. "Yeah… I deserved that one." While that happened, he took out the Scroll as Crescent and Wolfe caught up.

There were a wide-open ground level parking lot and a highway overpass ahead of them. Two armored vans parked themselves on the other side of the underpass. The map revealed that bags were there as well. Houston pointed in that direction.

Grinder turned around to set up his bipod so he can cover their rear flank. Wolfe and Houston paired up as did Jacket and Crescent. Two by two they moved up by using cars for cover. Jacket and Crescent worried about the front as Grinder came in from the back with cover fire from Houston and Wolfe.

They entered the overpass and to their right was an apparent crash of the van. The area was some loading dock. Metal shipping containers were sprawled out as it as two red brick buildings encased the area. Three containers had their contents taken out and left open space for the most part. Along the overpass wall, five containers stacked against the wall below the overpass.

In the distance, there were two young men dead at the scene. Both of whom were Faunus and gang members that operated the gate. The first one had glass in his face an crawled several feet before he died. The other was shot up by Templiers four feet away. The Templiers were all killed when the Heisters approached.

The van was on its side as Wolfe attempted to open the back door. It was locked and he looked at his team.

"Matt! What the fuck!?" Grinder shouted.

"Fuck you! I'm not getting out!" Matt Harson shouted back. As that happened, the saw revved up to rip at the exposed rooftop.

Wolfe noticed at the street more droids were coming in but realized he was low on ammo. "Loan me some bullets?"

Grinder heard the call and unhinged his ammo bag and tossed it to Jacket. From there, he jogged to a corner where the Templiers couldn't get a straight shot. He dropped the bag and took out some magazines for his weapon and waved at Wolfe. Each member took a turn to restock their ammunition.

The left side of the exposed van roof finished Grinder started a new cut in the upper half. Sparks flew out while two Templier squads entered the street. He grits his teeth under the Goofball mask as Crescent and Wolfe charged to the gate and took cover at the concrete barriers.

Crescent and Wolfe covered each other at angles where they would not have to expose themselves to enemy fire. Crescent placed his back against the concrete and looked back at the van, Grinder still worked on the van but stopped. He shook his head and sprinted to a corner then unclasped his saw belt and ejected the dull blade.

Jacket looked up and tapped Houston's shoulder when they were in the back line. Templiers from the overpass had a clear overlook to the loading dock. Houston fired at a Templier as it tripped over the railing and fell onto a container. "Watch it!"

"No one told you to take cover over there asshole!" Houston shouted back.

Jacket rolled his eyes as he aimed up at the overpass and only aimed for the concrete below the railing. It got them to back off for several seconds. As the crew looked over to the street, some of the Templiers rallied up and backed off in an orderly fashion.

"Ha ha! The cops are pulling back!" Houston rubbed the forehead of his mask to have his balaclava wipe the sweat away.

"Alright, we don't have much time. Those vans out there are prepped for war." Crescent jogged to the van and beat the metal. "Come out Matt, and this doesn't have to end like this."

"I'll take my chances with the cops instead!" Matt's voice echoed inside the van.

Crescent looked to his right to see Grinder adjust the saw components for the new blade. He nodded to the van while Grinder raised his left arm as the saw revved. The saw blades spun as Wolfe jogged from his cover. In the shadow of the underpass and metal challenger approached.

CLACK CLUNK CLACK CLUNK!

The Payday Gang looks to their left to see a six-foot-tall machine. The helmet was of clear Templier design and walked behind a police cruiser. The helmet was wider than its cousins. The left arm had layers of bulk with a support tendon over each arm to relieve the tension of the hydraulics. The right arm was a single barreled gun that was an attachment clear and simple. The legs were like the other Templiers but the way of supporting itself was of two stubs and not feet design. The torso looked hefty while its back rested a nine-barrel mini-gun.

Wolfe got to cover and spoke up. "Oh that, it's a Templier-Siege Automaton E54 design. For some dumbass reason, its the codename, Bastion."

"Is it easy to take out?" Houston was in the back line of the loading dock as he noticed the droids could use a back alley to flank the crew.

The E54 shifted its helmet back and the torso leaned forward and the legs pulled back to have a lower center of gravity while the mini-gun flipped from the back to front end.

"Crap…" Grinder stopped his saw.

The thing turned slightly then it unleashed rounds at the crew as each took cover from the fire. Houston in the back marked the E54 then sprinted to the elevated loading dock. The space between when a loading truck would have its cargo be at the same elevation for the workers to unload into the building. Houston glanced back.

"Okay, the good news is that it looks to be drum mag and not chain fed. So it has to reload at some point." Houston looked out and when the E54 would fire at the crew who were in cover, another one of them would shoot back.

As that happened, Grinder looked up to see the Templiers attempted to drop two Cloakers down from the overpass. Both slim designs came down by wire as Grinder picked them off before they had a chance. On the left side, Jacket looked at the van then frowned. From there, he tapped Wolfe's back to get his attention from there, and he nodded to Houston.

Wolfe had to reload anyways. "Hey Houston, can you get its attention? Jacket wants to get on the other side."

"I hear ya, be ready to move." Houston stood up from cover and aimed for the exposed section of the E54. Not that it did damage as the hull remained intact, once the barrels turned to him. Houston ducked down as puffs of concrete chipped away the top of it.

Jacket was mid-way through as he was behind the shipping crates in the middle of the yard. Wolfe got the E54's attention so Jacket could make it across.

The outline made it possible for him to see that the building with the loading dock made a blind spot for him. Jacket lifted himself to the loading dock and waved at the crew while Houston followed him.

"Alright, make it quick!" Crescent looked back to the overpass and fired at it when the Templiers thought they were clever.

Wolfe walked to the back of the yard and saw helmets of Templiers that would come from the back alley. The three crew members in the yard would take turns to get the attention of the E54. Outside, the Templier units deployed as two armored vans pulled up in a parking lot in the distance.

Inside the space, there were factory sized shelves and construction equipment. The employees were long gone and the cops were on the other side if their flashing red and blue lights were any indications from the ceiling windows. From there, there was a forklift with a gas can beside it. Jacket went for it as Houston was perplexed of the idea. Jacket pointed at a nearby container then figuratively waved his hand around it. Houston looked at the ground then nodded. They jogged back to the loading dock.

Grinder took a step out and eventually the E54 would prevent him from cleaving Matt out.

If this keeps up, more Templiers would come and wipe out the Payday Gang. From there, Crescent stared at Wolfe. "Hey, are E54s remote controlled or programmed?"

"Programmed, why?"

"Activate the ECM. We're pulling out."

Grinder sighed in utter frustration. "Matt knows what we look like! If we let him stay, we all go down."

"The droids will get bold soon."

The sliding doors of the loading dock opened up to show Jacket. In hand, there was a red gasoline container then jogged to the back. Wolfe was tempted to look back from the alley. Houston appeared on the comm link.

"Wolfe activate the ECM. Jacket suggests that we burn Matt out."

Crescent shook his head. "What are you saying?!"

Grinder tapped Crescent's shoulder. "It's now or nothing!"

Jacket went out into the open as the E54 lowered its mini-gun. The lid rolled off the gas can as he poured it around the van. Grinder jogged up and put his saw blade to the ground then revved it, so the friction sparked on the ground then lit the fire. Soon enough, the fire encircled the middle and back half of the van.

Matt inside the van was quiet while Wolfe stared at the ECM. "Get out of there!"

The ECM battery life went out while the E54 reactivated as the Payday Gang dispersed into behind the containers. Like that, Houston made his way through the back of the building. From there, he saw the humanoid cops move and set up some barriers and car spike belts. He pulled out an electro round magazine then fired at the cops.

Of course, the cops retaliated and took cover.

The flame went higher as there were beatings on the inside of the van. "Hwaaaaaa!" Matt screamed, and Crescent stared at the van. "AAAHHH!"

On the other side, the cops were stunned from the electro rounds. Houston broke away from the building and sprinted to a police cruiser before the metal barriers went up. He twisted the ignition.

Back in the loading dock, the pounding of the van walls became full-blown punches. Crescent heard Matt's shouts than the gunfire. Crescent leaned his head back and could feel the sweat of his gloved fingers tighten from the excitement.

"Hey guys, just be sure to get me!" Houston shouted as a police cruiser zoomed by as it charged directly into the E54 from the side as it was tipped over and carried off by thirty feet then slammed into a wall.

The E54 was pinned to the wall as the mini-gun spun until the lights died out. Houston coughed as he moved his head away from the airbag and looked around. Several Templiers saw him then fired at the car. Houston lowered his torso fast enough as bullets cracked around him. Bits of shrapnel flew about and got in his chest and left arm.

Grinder and Wolfe sprinted to the open then unleashed at the Templiers while Crescent rushed across the street to get to Houston. The door plopped open and Houston rolled out, then looked at the sky. Crescent hovered over him and offered a hand.

"How was that?" Houston mumbled.

"I give it a three out of ten," Crescent remarked.

"You jerk."

The crew rallied back to the loading dock. As that happened, the back door of the van opened up to show Matt crawl out and roll on the ground. Drenched in sweat and several blisters. Crescent's glance was that of his forehead and not his eyes. From there, he looked up at Jacket as he raised his MP7 and put some electro rounds in him.

"We got him. Now, let's get out of here." Crescent cleared his throat.

When the crew went to retrieve Houston, they took a glimpse of the other side of the overpass. It was packed with police cruisers with two new armored vans while more squads came at the ready. Crescent and the crew looked behind them and remembered the back end of the loading dock connected to an apartment complex or something.

"We have to get back to the boat." Crescent hovered his palm over his eyes as he wished to rub his eyelids to relieve some of the pain.

Houston knew of the other side of the street but knew that the side he stole the cruiser would have the cops lock it down. Jacket walked to Matt's body and hauled him over his shoulder.

Grinder nodded as he ran through the loading dock. The bottom had a large glass window with the wrist saw raised to cover his face as he jumped through the glass. It shattered as he rolled onto his back and he mumbled to himself as he looked up. Wolfe looked through the hole and took two steps to his left. The doorknob twisted as he entered the same room Grinder jumped through.

Wolfe snickered as he paced over Grinder. He dropped his head down and then supported himself back to his feet. Houston opened his mouth. However, no words formed. He lifted his hand up as Crescent put his hand on Houston's wrist and shook his head.

Grinder took watched the rear flank of the crew while Crescent and Wolfe had their automatics ready with Houston in the middle to offer precision shots. Jacket was in front of Grinder as they made their way through the halls. A Templier squad attempted to set a sniper nest, but Wolfe and Crescent made short work of them. The walk through the building was less than minutes when they got on the fourth floor. A fire was in the open for an easy jump to the top side of the overpass. A highway that started from here with a wide street, enough to fit six cars across was in view.

Start Bring It

Houston and Grinder set themselves up on the windows to offer cover fire as the rest got out. Once Crescent and Jacket made it onto the highway, a set of speakers bellowed out while something strange appeared on the top side of the highway.

Shields. Just a layer of Templier Shields.

Each of them was in full body of a grey with a set of lights from above the eye slits and below.

Out of the middle, the droids separated as a man in balaclava with a mouth opening nodded as he signaled his fleshy co-workers to pull back. Dressed in complete dark cyan blue uniform, with a black exterior armor, not in complete pieces like the how the Payday Gang members apply their armor. The straps of his officer were all interconnected in some manner. The black layered body armor, with front straps to his thighs, shins and forearms. His helmet was odd compared to the rest of the Pilsen PD. It was carved out the back and nodded hard forward to flick the riot visor down.

"Captain Montagne has arrived, follow his lead!"

Crescent and Jacket looked at each other as the wall of Shields walked in complete unison directly behind Montagne. He waved his arms and the forces moved with him.

"That is not the same guy," Houston muttered.

"We deal with it, like the rest," Wolfe said as he bolted a chamber out.

Houston closed one eye and then leveled his sight over one of the Shield Templiers. "Crescent, we don't have the ammunition nor the time to deal with them."

Crescent looked to his behind them and saw that there was an apartment complex with a narrow walk away. He jogged into the small plaza cafe, and the alley opening revealed a small apartment courtyard with a downward staircase. There was one problem, it had metal gates. A relic from the old days before the walls went up. It was designed to take a beating from Grimm and Grinder needed to get his ass down here. Fast.

"Hey, we need the saw." Crescent jogged back to several cars parked in direct opposition to the incoming Captain.

Jacket put Matt down behind a bus stop poster, and then joined the line with the Crescent and Wolfe. The same with the bags of money tossed in the general direction toward the area Grinder needed to saw through.

The Captain and his entourage cross halfway through the highway. Montagne, flicked his left arm and for his to Shield collapse from the upper and lower section to make it compact and offer better mobility. He jogged on with a P9 Handgun and shouted something in Mistralan…

"Je prends le point!" Below the eyeslit for the shield, a trio rectangles with small squares divided into them had revealed themselves. Jacket popped out of cover to take a couple of shots and the squares had bursts of light come out form Montagne's Shield.

Jacket raised his hand too late and was dazed as he got shot center mass several times before he fell to a knee as a Templier Shield rushed his car. Above, Houston would not have any of that, so he popped some shots and took the overzealous Shield down. Montagne looked up and shouted something out with his index and middle fingers.

From the Shield line, two Templiers separated to reveal a Bulldozer. "SORTIR DE LE VOIE! POUR LE BULLDOZER!" The thing screamed. It had a completely black color to it and armed with a shotgun like the others. It directed its attention to Houston's position. It fired a single shot but surprisingly, pellets did not hit the glass.

The glass shattered as Houston looked away not to let any fragments get in his eyes. He looked back and noticed that there was a small bag beside him. He peeked out and saw that a Bulldozer was armed with a… shotgun that fired beanbags? What?

In the back of the Payday line, Grinder's wrist saw needed the current saw blade swap out because the one dulled. It detached in time while he looked over his shoulder to see the Payday Gang barely holding the cops back.

"Droit de flanc!" Montagne waved his arm to his right side. Two Templiers acknowledged the order and paired up and moved side by side. Both fired at the group while a Taser used them for cover. The blue padded armor with a black visor just snickered to itself as it closed in on the clown that attempted to saw the door open.

Jacket got his sight back as he fired at the incoming Bulldozer. Wolfe suppressed the line to move at a snail's pace but it was clear that the Bulldozer and the side Shields were meant to disrupt Payday Gang or at least split them. Houston saw the pincer move come in and grumbled to himself. He needed to bail, and quick.

The Heister made outlines of the Payday Gang in green as he sprinted to the fire escape balcony. He jumped out and his feet landed on the roof of a car and he quickly rolled over and groaned in pain. He looked up and as a Beanbag came straight at him and struck the Heister in the stomach.

Houston lurched forward as he felt a bit of breakfast at the back of his throat. He then rolled over to his side as Crescent helped him on his feet. They did not get to cover fast enough and in his left shoulder, Crescent had a Beanbag hit him and tripped backward. He leaned up and unloaded at the Bulldozer.

"Cela chatouille-t-il?" It pumped for the next shot.

"Fall back!" Crescent groaned under the pain. Each one took a bag as Wolfe carried Matt on his shoulder.

The first set of hinges came off as Grinder smiled at the Payday Gang as they were able to leave this dust forsaken city. He looked at himself to see the duo of Shields, and before them, a blue Templier with cracking sounds. "Je suis ampillé!" The Taser launched several strings into Grinder's chest.

Montagne jumped into the path of the Jacket, Houston, Crescent and Wolfe. He tilted his head left to crack it. From there, the Shield twisted sideways then rested his wrist on it. He fired several bullets and got Wolfe in the chest as he flinched from the momentum. He nearly dropped Matt.

Crescent charged on then had a flash of light blind him. The Montagne flicked forward and knocked Crescent off his feet and to his back. From the side, Houston looked on and saw that Grinder twitching from the electricity that flowed through him. He raised his gun.

CLICK CLICK CLICK!

He reached for his ammo pouch but noticed that he had no more magazines. With that, he tugged the strap and tossed the money bag at the Taser. Said Taser felt the force and nearly took a step back as Houston sprinted at Grinder, then proceeded to yank the strings out. He felt the pain two of the voltages, but that was enough for Grinder to lean up with his Negev as he unloaded on the Taser. Jacket outflanked the Shield pairwas, and he saw Crescent with a boot on his chest.

Jacket went in and grappled on Montagne as the rest of the crew slipped through the passageway. Grinder revved up his saw as Montagne was forced to raise his shield as the saw sparked off the center. Under the reflection of the riot visor, Montagne frowned to see Crescent get up and regroup. Grinder raised his leg and shoved Montagne back. The rest of the droids nearly caught up to this point but the Payday Gang were already down the stairs.

The last ammo bag placed in front of a laundry-mat that was part of the apartment complex. Jacket, Houston and Crescent were nearly out of ammo. The flimsy ammo bag was at the lower back of Jacket. From there, the Payday gang burst out of a small gate and with suppression fire to get the cops to duck down. The parking lot had the dozen Templiers be picked off from the assault.

The construction site from earlier was in view as the Payday Gang sprinted onward. The one ahead would turn around and fire back at the Templiers. Each took turns. The cylinders made it difficult to align a shot on the backs of the Payday Gang. They cut a left corner and past the now vacant street back to the downtown building.

The Payday Gang ran into the alley from earlier. Jacket was the first to make it and opened the manhole for the rest to enter and he closed it behind them. Of course, the cops would be a block behind them. Captain Montagne crossed his arms and walked ahead as his forces jogged pass him.

The Music ends now

The manhole cover slid back in place as the engine of the boat started and the Payday Gang were off. The smell assaulted their noses with the dirty water with bits of whatever floated down here. Each gagged now and again. Soon, the scent did not remain as bad when they approached the metal bars that could lead them out to the lake.

Jacket opened the side compartment and clenched an annoyed fist then leaned back. Confused, Houston looked in then rolled his eyes. "Matt took out the thermite we brought."

"We don't have any?"

"None."

The blade was dull with how latching mechanism did not spring the saw blade in place. Meaning Grinder's wrist saw… was unable to work on the bolted bars. Crescent lowered his head and sighed.

What a lovely day this has been.

"Let's just find a place to topside." The crew had to get out and turn the boat around. Each Heister was silent.

They were aimless, and it must have been about half an hour for the team in the sewers. Crescent and Jacket should not handle the smell for that much longer before they threw up over the side. None of them berated each other about it. Soon, there was a ladder that leads back the world above, Houston volunteered himself to take a look.

The manhole slid out of the way as the event crickets sung in the area. The area was in some public park. Downtown was in the distance and this was some suburbs. It wasn't much, but he looked around to see a building that the crew could use to hide. It was better than nothing and the boat was anchored next to the ladder. Wolfe climbed out as the two jogged to the building. It hummed with some machinery inside and shrugged.

Wolfe picked the lock as Houston posed as a lockout. Once the door opened, the hum grew louder as the rest of the Payday Gang went one at a time to get inside. Matt had his forehead punched with a makeshift gag in his mouth. He angrily muffled at the Jacket who carried him and put him in a corner. Without the need to take chances, Jacket clenched a fist and decked Matt Harson. His eyebrow cut open as he leaned against the wall unconscious.

The small building was a water pump lift station, meaning that the water to be recycled from house drains would pump back to a water treatment plant. Since it, everything sounded like it functioned that it needed to. The two remaining bags were put in the middle of the crew.

Wolfe opened the bags to check the contents, the purple bills were still useable but when the second bag zipped apart. Wolfe pushed the bag away and sighed. Crescent caught on then looked inside the bags. The money was there, but no computer hardware.

In the confusion of earlier, Houston threw the bag that saved Grinder at the cops… two million lien… down the drain.

Cresent pulled the mask down. With the orange liquid lightly sting his eyes. Jaune pulled the balaclava mask off and rubbed his forehead. Something tapped his shoulder as Houston passed the scroll back. He took it and put his back on the floor. The rest of the Payday Gang took their own space.

Grinder rolled the Goofball mask back then put the Negev on the ground, he took a strap of the bag and pulled it close and zipped it up. From there, it was rolled back on the side for a makeshift pillow. It was uncomfortable but distracted him from the bruises and pain. Jacket, Daniel and Grinder used their Aura but the sense of exhaustion ignited among them.

Jaune blinked at the ceiling and dug around in his mind.

He swallowed a lump in his throat as he stood up. The crew stared at him and Jacket took hold of his gun but Jaune shook his head. His left hand was up and just needed some fresh air.

The crew relaxed.

Jaune put his right hand in his pocket and walked to a nearby swing. No dress jacket, so his undershirt had several dry spots from sweat. The playground for this park did not have a street light, so he felt comfortable enough.

The scroll light was set to low as he tapped his finger on the list of contacts. He dialed up a number and stared at the sky as he did so.

.

Six Hours Later.

.

Jacket, Wolfe and Grinder were asleep in their perspective corners as Daniel and Jaune were awake as and listened for any potential danger. Daniel stared at Matt who was knocked out again by Grinder this time. From inside the lift station, their glass at the top half so the moonlight peeked inside. Each member took a turn to operate as the lookout for the crew.

Orange headlights came through as Daniel grabbed his weapon. Jaune did the same as a prolonged pause influenced the two to hold their breath.

Knock knock. It was simple and humble.

Jaune put Crescent on as he carefully walked to the door.

A set of pink and brown eyes just blinked at Crescent as she tiptoed to look over his shoulder to see the state of the Payday Gang. She nodded behind her to a parking lot to see a van with Mercury Black inside. He yawned and fanned his mouth as Crescent turned around to wake the rest of the Payday Gang up.

Not that there was anything to pack, the Payday Gang walked to the van. Matt was at the mercy of Neo's umbrella sword as she kept it close to his throat in case the traitor had any bright ideas. From there, the Payday Gang reentered the sewer to dismantle the boat to be put in the van.

Neo put her pinched her nose as the Payday Gang entered the back of the van. Wolfe told Mercury the directions to get back to the warehouse they used as a hideout. Hopefully, the place was not sanctioned off for an investigation.

The crew heads' shook with the vibration of the van as Jaune sat close to the driver and passenger. Inside the van, there was duck-tape.

Much to their delight. The warehouse was completely vacant. Houston and Grinder exited the van with caution and did not fall victims to gunfire. So there was that, Crescent opened the back doors and the rest of the Payday Gang disembarked to collect their belongings.

Grinder remained at the entrance as the crew went past him. "Hey, I'm sorry about the money."

Crescent stood beside him. "Don't be." He did not wait for a response, so he just walked on to get his belongings as well.

About ten minutes later, the Payday Gang were almost ready.

Grinder had the Negev over his shoulder then looked to the van. Matt was forced out with Neo right behind him with the blade at his back. Grinder removed the gag and positioned himself in front of Matt.

"This won't bring them back." Matt mused.

"I know." Grinder looked in his eyes.

Neo smirked as she walked around the two, she reached to her lower left ankle and took out a miniature revolver. It flipped around as she went to stand next to Crescent.

Grinder lifted the revolver up then fired three bullets into Matt's head. He dropped to the ground then Grinder put two bullets in Matt's heart. The last one was for the throat. He closed his eyes and opened them by the time he got close to Crescent.

Seeing in that she got what she wanted from the ordeal. Neo put both of her hands on the back of her head and happily returned to the van.

The Crescent mask lifted up. Jaune stared onward at the corpse.

"We knew each other for close to three years now." Grinder passed the now discharged revolver to Jaune.

"Hmmm." Jaune leaned to his left slightly.

"You better head out."

Jaune glanced at the van to see Wolfe and Jacket with their bags on the shoulders.

"I already know you will take my share." Grinder put his right hand in his pocket.

"Got any plans?" Jaune tossed out there.

"Not really." Grinder chuckled.

"When I was five, I liked to play in the backyard. It was not much of a backyard since there was no fence. It just leads us outside. The first time I did so, I apparently got lost from all the bushes. My older sisters were in a different part of the house so it was not like they could have helped me. When I called out for a while, no one came for me." Jaune readjusted his grip on his bag.

Grinder and Jaune stared onward. "I got a couple of cuts and eventually someone came looking for me. It was my grandpa, Jimmy Arc. His real name was Jerald but he liked Jimmy because that is what his wife called him. Here I am, thinking this bush was safe to play in and I get stuck because of my clothes. Just when the sun is about to set, my Jimmy cuts the upper half of that same bush. Any lower, and he would have decapitated me."

Grinder chuckled.

"I was so stupid and didn't know that everyone looked for me. I did think much of it at the time. Whenever I remember my grandpa, he reminds me of why I want to be a Huntsman. The way he told his tales of how he did something he deemed worthwhile. It must have rubbed off on me." Jaune exhaled slowly. "We would play in that forest every time he visited my home."

Grinder took his hand out of his pocket.

"Back home, I nearly got second-degree frostbite because I got a new pair of ice skates. The bigger kids would shove me aside and tell me that I didn't have what it took to be a real player for hockey. I wanted to become a pro player in the sports circuits. I would come back home so red she'd ask me if my skin could handle blizzards. I'd never had an answer."

Jaune reached out with his right hand. "Jaune Arc."

Grinder took his hand. "Sergei Manvelov."

"I wanted to assume your name was Alexander." Jaune joked.

"We can't always get what we want." Grinder exhaled slowly.

"Here." Jaune reached into the bag. He took out several wads of cash and passed them to Grinder. "It's what I can spare."

"Your friends must be in a hurry."

"Meh."

"I know this place in Vale, it has plenty of room and is part of an empty part of town." Jaune zipped up the bag. "So, you interested?"

"Fire in my belly and ice in my veins." Grinder smiled.

"Great."

"I just need to stick around in Pilsen for a couple of days. I got to clear a few things up." As that happened, the two exchanged some necessary contact information.

Jaune walked away from Grinder with his eyes to the ground and calm demeanor.

"Oh yeah. My friends would call me Sokol, from back in my hockey days."

"Nice." Jaune waved without looking. "Let us know when you arrive in Vale… Sokol."

Thank you for reading. I used French for the droids and Montagne. So here are the translations.

Je prends le point. = I will take point.

Sortir de la voie! Pour le bulldozer! = Make way! For the Bulldozer!

Droit de flanc! = Flank right!

Cela chatouille-t-il! = This tickles!

Je suis ampillé! = I'm amped!

Before you ask, yes, Bastion is from Overwatch and Montagne is from Rainbow Six Siege.
