Sorry for the wait! I've been busy, with tests and all that crap stuff you get at the end of term. But I am free after next week! But no writing today, because it's mothers day! (And 'm just updating this before she wakes up) So I better be quick!
I hope you enjoy, and as I promised, things are getting a bit crazy. And the end is near!
Thanks to all of you who have been reviewing and sticking with me throughout. You are my favourites! All of you :D
Enjoy -
Nine
I am half happy.
I am on a high from Six's whole 'boyfriend' thing, that I may have taken the mick out of her for about half an hour. And although she may have tried to smack me a few times, and succeeded once... she had a smile on her face.
On the other hand, I am unstable, pissed off and scared. Yup, I said it. I'm scared.
That damn Mog came and freaking told everyone that 'One' is coming back to life. It's not right, it's lies, or at least most of it made up. As I screamed at him, dead people just don't come back to life. I spent every day trying to forget Sandor, and what happened to him. Now Adam has just opened this little hole of doubt in me that seems to ripping me apart slowly.
And the puny humans being snatched away is starting to really kill my vibe.
Though another hot Garde (from Adams descriptions) would be interesting... though I suppose the others are too lovey dovey to try anything. There I go again, fantasizing over some dead chick. I seriously need to get my shit together now.
And we have to wait another night now, as Adam needed to ask One to see if she can figure anything out in the first place.
I fucking hate waiting.
"Shoot" I say in a monotone, almost smiling as Adam's lousy shot goes and ricochets off the wall. It may be because he is tired all the time, or maybe just because he is a crap shot – but he's sometimes a little better than this. He curses slightly and re-loads his gun, dropping some bullets onto the ground in the process. I use telekinesis to lift them up and pass them to him and he gives me a tight smile. I honestly don't know why he bothers, the others like him. But I don't.
The past kind of changes that.
After a few more shitty shots I give up and leave him to practise, going inside. We are only stuck in here until One gets the location, but that cant come fast enough.
"Nine"
"Aaaand, my moment of solitude is ruined" I say, smirking as I turn round to face Six. Her black hair is tied into a high ponytail and her hazel eyes are narrowed. I sigh, rolling my eyes at her crossed arms and stony stance. I walk up to her quickly and kiss her to stop her from ruining everything by talking.
She bites her lip as I pull back, a smile pulling at the corners of her mouth. And then, however hard I tried to stop her – she talks.
"Your too happy" She decides, eyebrows arching "You shouldn't be, there are some of us missing"
"Moaning about it aint going to do no good" I retort, grabbing something to eat. She gives me that disappointed look of disgust that she wears so well, before relenting and plonking her own self beside me. Her face relaxes as she drapes her arm on the edge of the sofa – resting her head on the scratchy cushion.
I'm not used to seeing her like this, but I guess everybody gets tired sometimes. I just drink caffeine... now I come to think of it I have never seen Six drink coffee. That is one thing she would certainly thank me for.
"Six do you want some coffee?" I ask, smirking. Her nose wrinkles in disgust, and she sits up, crossing her legs.
"Nope"
"Have you ever even tried it?" I say, and she shakes her head.
"And I don't want to, it stinks and it smells disgusting" She replies shortly.
I go stand up, and Six scowls at me as I walk towards the coffee machine. "Oh to have an open mind" I tease, taking the milk and sugar out of the cupboard and fridge. "You are going to try some" I hum as the water begins to boil. I see the steely look start to graze Six's face and I just know she is going to protest, and try to get out of it.
She never does anything she doesn't want to, but I am adamant about this.
"Don't even" I stop her as she goes to talk. "You need to try this. No arguments. Nope-"
"And what will you give me if I do?" her inquiry is useless – she already knows the answer. "Nothing" She answers for herself "I don't know why I bother"
"Me neither" I laugh, causing her to shoot me another sharp look. Instead of pissing her off further, I just fill a cup with coffee and milk, spooning way too much sugar into it. I know Six hates bitter things, so this is about the only way she will take it.
I pass her the mug, and Eight walks in as she takes a sip. After a slight grimace, she drinks a little more, and then more, until she has finished the cup. Eight sits himself down on the floor with a loud thump.
"Any progress?" I ask and he shakes his head.
"Adam's restless, looks like he's going to go to bed again soon"
"Good" Six says "We cant do with waiting around any longer. We have to get to the humans"
I open my mouth to agree, but a shout comes from upstairs before I can.
John
I feel Marina shaking me awake, and am vaguely aware that I am shouting. But I cant think straight, and when I wake up my hands extend instinctively and Marina goes flying away, hitting the wall with a smack. Then I snap back to reality as Nine, Six and Eight rush into the room.
"Are you okay?" Six and Eight ask simultaneously, her to me, him to Marina. She gets up, rubbing her back and grimacing as the legacy spreads through her. Eight helps her gently, and I feel terrible. But I turn to Six – she has to know what just happened.
"Dream" I say and her eyes widen immediately. "I saw a base"
"What base?" Nine demands, as I throw off the covers and start to pace the room.
"England" I say, or at least I'm almost sure.
"England" Exclaims Marina, having recovered. "That's where we went when we were trying to get to you in New Mexico" Eight nods in agreement. "Do you know where in England?"
I shake my head, twisting my hands together. "Somewhere central. There were cars and buildings.
And Mark"
"What?" The others chorus.
"Mark. He was being tortured. I don't know how they got him, but Setrakus was talking to me – asking things. And then hurting Mark. I don't know what was going on, but it was real. I'm sure"
"Were the others there?" Six asks. I know she means Sam and Sarah and Emily, but much to my despair, Setrakus made sure I knew that they were far away. But where? I have no idea and it kills me. I am so worried for Sarah, terrified in fact.
"John, did anybody say anything about where they were" Six asks sincerely, determinedly, looking me straight in the eye, her grey orbs burning into mine. I whisper a sorry, taking my head in my hands and she backs up, slumping on the floor.
After a minute, I sit up and talk.
"We have to find him" I decide – causing Nine to look up in shock and Eight to raise his eyebrows at me. I know they think I'm stupid, but I have a feeling. I always have these, and it's not just the uncomfortable tingle of my bracelet that warns me that something is badly wrong. Or right, maybe Mark knows something, or maybe not.
Maybe he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or if he had been meddling – like Emily said – then it's no wonder the Mogs found him. If you mess with anything remotely to do with them, then you are assured a spot in one of their cells, or in a graveyard. But instead they have used Mark as a torture tool, and I don't care if it's just a trap to lure me in. If they have him captive, which I am certain they do, then I know I can take them, and I owe Mark.
"I don't care if you don't come with me – I'm going. I have to. And he may have something, information. He may be able to lead us to the humans. And One."
"But John One is going to tell us where Sam and co are anyway. We cant risk it" Nine says.
"We can. I can. I have to. And I'm going. You can come with me – or not"
"But-" Six starts and I shake my head, cutting her off.
"I'm sorry Six, but I've made my mind up. I will meet you there, wherever there is"
Marina looks nervously between us, obviously not happy. "Are you going to be okay on your own?" She asks. She isn't worried about the whole situation, just the fact that I may be in danger by myself. But I can take a base. Right? "I think maybe I should go with you"
Eight tightens his arms around her, his green eyes suddenly filling with fright.
"Or somebody else could" He suggests far too quickly, and her brown eyes turn on him.
"I can go Eight, it's not like anything is going to happen"
"I don't like it" He says sceptically, "It might be a trap, and an entire base? And only two of you?"
"But you need the rest of you to save the others, you know there are going to be more Mogs there, to guard the humans and One" Marina tries, folding her arms.
"More Mogs? Marina – Setrakus is in that base"
"And?"
"And?"
Six rolls her eyes, but slightly darkly. I can tell – that for some ridiculous reason – Marina and Eight are at the start of some kind of argument. Which is unusual, and not something I particularly want to witness. We have planning to do anyway, and though Nine seems far too interested, we all discreetly leave the room.
"She's right" Six says as we get downstairs "You need somebody to go with you – it's too dangerous on your own. And Marina's right, we don't need a ton of us for the others. Eight's way too protective" Then she locks her eyes on me "As soon as we figure out if Marina is going or not you need to get ready. This has to work, and I'm going to make sure it does. Otherwise you are not going"
I smile at her, knowing I will be perfectly fine.
Adam
"Adam, listen to me now!"
One's hands grip almost painfully on my shoulders, her hands digging into the fabric of my shirt and I'm sure leaving marks on my skin.
"Okay" I rest my hands gently on top of her, trying to calm the wild look in her eyes. There is something wrong. "What is it?"
"They are here Adam, the humans. But the fucking Mogs are moving them, tomorrow, you will never get here in time"
"Where is here?" I ask desperately, my mind racing with the information. That means One will be all alone – in a base. And god knows she will be waking up soon, what will happen then? And I know we cant get to the base before Sarah and the others leave, but maybe we can get there before anything happens to One.
"Do you know where they are going?" I ask, alarmed by the way her bare knuckles are clenching so hard they are white. "We can get somebody to you, and then if you know where they are going..."
"Adam" She cuts me off "Adamus." I feel a tingle shoot up my spine as she uses my full name, but it's not teasing, in fact she looks suddenly sad, and I can't understand why. "You don't want to know where they are going"
I raise my eyebrows. Of course I want to know where they are going – how else are we going to save them?
"So naive" She says gently, reaching a hand out to touch my cheek. This is my dream, this is just in my dream. One is never like this, she never was. "So young" She continues, and I find myself staring into her eyes. It scares me how fast her mood changed.
"One. Please. Where are they going"
She leans forward and presses a soft kiss against my lips. I fight the urge to gasp as her pale blue eyes search into mine for something. Something that I cannot give her.
"Oh Adam" There are tears in her eyes now.
"They are going to Magadore"
So, lots of people have been having the final battle on Lorien, but I thought I would change it up a bit :/ Hope you liked it!
And I will try and update sometime next week, because it's just boring stuff next week. Hopefully no homework! :)
Review! And on my other story :) Thanks XXXXXX
