Own nothing

Bernadette and Howard came back from their week alone. They enjoyed their time so much, they didn't tell anyone they had come home. Both Bernadette and Howard had taken two weeks off so they just laid low and kept to themselves.

Howard rolled over panting. "Oh my god…. That was fantastic. Bernie, where did you learn any of that? I would expect that with your religious background, well…. You know…"

Bernadette pulled the covers up over her chest. "Howie, you don't know what they teach us school… Anyway, Cyberspace is very advanced these days."

Howard smiled. "Don't I know it! Hey, what do say I make us some breakfast"?

Bernadette smiled after putting her glasses on. "Howie, that would be so nice. You get started and I will be right with you." Bernadette got up and went to the bathroom while Howard went into the kitchen.

Howard Got out some eggs and salami and started some coffee. He couldn't believe his good fortune over the past few weeks. Bernadette seemed so much more willing to start a family. He could not believe for the life of him how someone like Sheldon could pick up on those signs before he could.

Bernadette went to the bathroom and shut the door. She had been off the pill for a while now. When she tried to remember when it was things just were a little fuzzy. Bernadette opened the door under the sink and reached for the box she had put back there before they went on their trip up the coast.

Howard was just finishing plating their breakfast and pouring their coffee when Bernadette came out of the bathroom. He placed them on the table as Bernadette came out of the bathroom. Bernadette quietly sat down and looked at the breakfast that Howard had prepared. "There's my beautiful wife, I made Salami and eggs. It's the prefect breakfast for 'Après Lamoure'. Bernie, how long has it been that you have been thinking about possibly starting a family"?

Bernadette looked up at her husband. "What?... Oh… um… I don't know. It's been a while… I uh…. Went off the pill about six weeks ago or so…." Bernadette had kind of a blank look on her face.

Howard almost spit out his coffee. "SIX WEEKS? Bernadette…. Don't you think that we should have talked about this sooner? I mean…. Don't get me wrong…. This is something that I have been really wanting… but don't you think we should have talked about it? I thought that you just started only a few weeks ago."

Bernadette looked up at Howard with moist eyes. Howard saw the look in her eyes and saw that she looked upset. "I'm sorry…. Sorry, sorry…. It's OK…. You did the right thing…. I would have pushed…. I know…. It's ok… don't cry".

Bernadette looked into Howard's eyes. "Howie….. I'm pregnant".

Howard was surprised by the words he just heard. "What…. How…. When…"? He had a look of complete confusion.

Bernadette now smiled. "I'm pregnant…. And as for the other questions…. How? Come on Howie, I think that shouldn't be hard to figure out considering we have been 'at it' like a couple of rabbits for the last couple of weeks…. And I would say some time in the past couple of weeks for when. These new pregnancy kits can pick up the hormone within the first week of conception…. Howie…. Are we really going to be able to do this?"

Now Howard started to cry. "Oh my god… you're pregnant… I'm going to be a Dad… You're going to be a Mom… This is so great… I love you so much." Howard got up and went over to Bernadette and gave her a big hug. Bernadette tried to smile but it hadn't all sunk in just yet.

Raj and Alex were on their way back from India. They couldn't believe the time that they had had with Raj's parents. Everything went better than either of them could have possibly imagined.

Alex's father had suspected that there might have been some potential for friction between the Koothrappali's and his daughter. He also knew from his conversations with Alex that she wanted to make a good impression on them and try to convince them that Raj having a relationship with her would not be a bad thing. When Alex's father learned that Dr. Koothrappali was an amateur member of the SETI League and the head of the local chapter, he knew that he had an opportunity to help win them over.

He had all the confidence in the world in his daughter's ability to hold her own, still… he felt that if he could be any help at all, he would do what he could. Dr. Koothrappali and he hit it off from the very start and there really was no convincing him at all that Alex would be good for Raj.

The more problematic potential was with Mrs. Koothrappali. For that, there was help from Raj's sister Priya. Priya had cornered her mother and softened her to the idea that Alex was an accomplished scientist and very compatible with Raj. After meeting Dr. Jensen, the three members of the Koothrappali family were looking forward to finally meeting Alex in person.

The next two weeks were an absolute dream for Alex. Priya and Mrs. Koothrappali took her all around New Delhi to meet all their friends in the highest social circles of the city. They also went to all the tourist attractions. Raj spent more time with his father discussing SETI and the stars than he had ever done before. It was a complete surprise to him that his father had taken such an interest in the career that Raj had chosen. The two men had become closer that Raj could ever remember.

Sheldon and Amy had spent the majority of their evenings together. Amy would walk over to Sheldon's office to pick him up and take him home after stopping for takeout food. If they needed to go on errands or to the comic book store or to a train store, Amy would gladly chauffer him around. Each evening, after they ate, Amy would offer to engage in a rousing game of Sheldon's choice. More and more often, they would stop and eat at a restaurant that Sheldon had previously approved of. Amy was putting Penny's plan into action at every opportunity.

Sheldon was sitting in his spot on the couch in 4B with Amy in the chair she often used when the apartment belonged to Penny. He turned to Amy. "Amy… I must say that these past weeks with no hindrance from the others of our social group have been very enjoyable to me."

Amy smiled. "I agree, they have been very satisfying to me as well".

Sheldon pondered his next words carefully. "Amy, I propose that we advance our relationship to the next level."

Amy dropped her jaw at this remark. "Sheldon…. What are you saying?"

Sheldon just looked at her. "Well, I propose that we get engaged…. Amy Farah Fowler….. Will you marry me"?
