Here is part two of the Ryan versus Mia fight, which I hope you all are enjoying. We are now in chapter 37 where we will see how this fight will conclude so that we can see who goes on to the next round. I'm glad the last chapter did well since I never uploaded it in the original story, which got taken down by Fanfiction. So thanks guys for the help and I hope you all like how this chapter goes.
Also I need to say this the battles will be three-on-three since I don't want to take too much time. When we get to the finals it will be a six-on-six so be patient for that guys. I also hope everyone likes how the fight here will go in this chapter and for the future battles as well. Just to let you all know.
Now then let's get started with the disclaimer shall we? I don't own anything from Pokémon just my OCs and thanks to those who send their OCs too. Also for those that don't know: the Italic or at times a flashback, will represent the Pokémon talking and Bold is for thoughts. Now let's begin with the chapter, enjoy.
Ryan vs. Mia part II
Sinnoh League (Normal pov)
"Gale, use Psycho Cut!" Mia ordered as her Pokémon charges at Rachel.
"Rachel, use Protect!" Ryan ordered as his Pokémon creates a shield that blocked the attack of Gale. "Now, use Thunderpunch!"
The shield disappears and Rachel punches Gale right in the face with the electric attack, but it didn't knock him away as he stood his ground despite getting hit face first.
Mia saw her chance and gave the order. "Gale, use Close Combat!"
Gale unleashed a barrage of punches at Rachel that did knock her away, but she kept herself from falling on the ground by levitating. Gale charges at her with another Psycho Cut attack, but Ryan was ready for it.
"Dodge using Teleport!" Rachel teleported herself away just before the attack could hit. "Use Magical Leaf!"
She appears from behind Gale and fires at him hundreds of colored leaves that razor leaves that hit him, but like Rachel he refused to fall and manages to hold his ground. Both Pokémon backed away back to their trainers to catch their breath as the crowd cheered loudly.
"What a battle we are witnessing folks. Not only are both Pokémon equally matched, but they refuse to get knocked down and keep on fighting!" said the announcer getting the crowd riled up. "I don't know how this will end folks, but whoever wins this will have earned it."
"Gale is a lot tougher than I was expecting," said Ryan to himself impressed by how this fight is going. "Still, you're tough too Rachel and we're not going to give up, right?"
Rachel shook her head in response. No way, but we'll need to be careful. We don't want to risk them getting another opening like they did earlier.
Ryan nods in agreement not wanting Rachel to get hit again with those punches. "Okay, let's go for long-range attacks and keep your distance until we see another opening to take him down."
Sounds good, but you don't think they'll think of the same thing? Rachel asked.
"Maybe, but let's hope our way will be better than their way," said Ryan hoping he is right.
"Their good," said Mia towards Gale.
Gale nods in agreement. Yes, they're both strong. A lot tougher than you thought they would be, Mia.
Mia knew he is right. She thought they would have the advantage since she has had Gale longer than Ryan has had Rachel. Now she sees she is wrong and that they have come a long way since they began their journey together. This is something she did not expect and will need to be on their guard.
"Okay, Gale go for long-range attacks and only strike when you see an opening. Don't wait for me to give an order, if you see an opening then take it," Mia ordered.
You sure? Gale asked.
Mia nods in response. "Yeah, don't want to give them the chance to counter attack if I give the order or hesitate when there is an opening. Just be careful, okay?
I will and I understand. Gale replied as the two Pokémon look ready to continue with the fight. Ready when you are, Mia.
Mia nods as she makes the first move. "All right, Gale use Shadow Ball!"
Ryan sees this and decides to counter. "Rachel, use Shadow Ball as well!"
Both Psychic-Pokémon charged up their attacks and fired it at each other both colliding into each other and causing an explosion that shook the arena.
Backstage (Derek's pov)
I saw the two attacks collide into one another and felt the room shake a little from the force of the explosion. Sheesh if these two keep this up they might bring down the arena. Then I won't be able to have my match with Apollo, and knowing him he would throw a hissy fit. Kind of like Amanda.
"What is wrong with those two?!" Amanda shouted as she continues to try concentrating on choosing her Pokémon. "Can't they keep it down?"
"Relax, if they keep this up they may have to cancel the other fights till tomorrow so they can fix up the arena," I replied, while focusing on the monitor for the fight.
"Well unlike you I'm not scared about fighting anyone, especially if that someone is that guy Apollo," Amanda replied as she focuses back on the task at hand.
"I'm not afraid of facing a guy I have beaten before," I replied recalling my history with him. "Anyways, you shouldn't underestimate him. He's a lot stronger than before and won't hesitate to hurt your Pokémon or you."
"Yeah?" Amanda asked not sounding concerned. "Well it isn't the first time I met a guy like him that treats others so badly and thinks highly of himself. I've met them before, Derek. All the time, especially during and after my brother retired."
Derek remembers what Dawn told her about Amanda how there were people that disliked her brother, treating her badly, and even called him a coward for retiring. She stuck up for her brother, but no matter how much she tried there were still people out there that hated them.
Since then she has tried to get stronger so she can fight them and make them pay for what they have been doing. Something her brother was against, but she just wanted to show she won't back down from anyone.
"Amanda, you shouldn't worry what others think of you and you shouldn't let yourself believe you can win every battle against anyone," I said, but tried to make it so she will get mad. "I mean yeah you should believe you can win any battles if you put your heart and soul in it, but you shouldn't go into every battle overconfident otherwise you won't do well. Apollo is a good example of that and also uses ruthless tactics to try hurting his opponents."
"Even Pokémon," Amanda replied recalling the story Iris told them about Apollo. "I know and I know how dangerous he is, but I don't care. I'm not going to back down from him no matter what."
"Even with the safety of your Pokémon at stake?" I asked getting her attention. "Look, Apollo is not a weak trainer and won't hesitate to hurt your Pokémon to the point they could die. Believe me I've seen it before and that is why I don't want you to underestimate him even if he insults you. You are a great trainer like your brother and you care a lot about your friends, but you need to ignore what others say and be calm. Only then will you become greater than your brother and prove yourself to everyone."
Amanda paid attention to what she was told and figured perhaps he is right. For as long as she can remember she always let her anger get the better of her even if it gets her in trouble. Her brother has tried helping her every time, but she wouldn't hear none of it. She wanted to prove herself that she can be a master like her brother, but perhaps it couldn't hurt to get some help once in a while.
"Fine, I'll try it your way then," Amanda got up from her seat and joins me. "So, how's it going? Is Ryan or Mia winning?"
I gave her a small smile and turned my attention back to the screen. "So far, it's pretty even."
Arena
Both Pokémon continued their fight both evenly matched and both their trainers each time trying to counter the other, but they keep countering the other. So any time one makes a move the other is able to counter it or is able to get their Pokémon to dodge the attack so they won't get seriously hit.
"Gale, use Night Slash!" Mia ordered.
"Rachel, use Protect!" Ryan ordered as Rachel protects herself with a shield that stops the attacks. She then teleports near her trainer getting exhausted from how long this fight is going. "You okay?"
Rachel nods trying to reassure Ryan she is fine, while noticing Gale is getting tired himself. He doesn't have much left in him either. If I can hit him with a Shadow Ball or another close move then I might be able to win.
Ryan knew Rachel was right, but also knew if she got hit with another strong attack she too would be defeated. Rachel, just keep your guard up and don't get hit.
She nods in response. I know and I'll be careful.
Meanwhile Mia had the same idea about how far this fight is going and how it will only take one mistake for someone to get the advantage to win the fight. Gale knew it too and it wouldn't be long before that happens.
Mia, should we try going for another up close move? Gale asked thinking that will work in ending this fight.
"No, not yet," she answered not wanting to risk going in for a close range attack without risking losing in the fight. "Bide your time and when you see an opening don't hesitate to take it."
Gale nods as he waits for Mia's next orders. If they are going to get anything done soon they'll need to wait for the right time to make their move.
"All right, Gale use Psychic and lift up some rocks!" Gale's eyes begin to glow as he lifts some boulders up from the ground and tosses them at Rachel.
Ryan, should I use Psychic too? Rachel asked thinking she can lift some boulders herself and counter attack.
Ryan however had other ideas. "Rachel, use Magical Leaf!" Rachel was confused by the order, but didn't hesitate as she uses her attack to shatter the boulders. "Now, use Psychic and toss them back!"
Rachel now sees what Ryan wanted to do and uses her power to lift the shattered remains then tosses them at Gale. He uses his Psycho Cut to break through the remains, but some got in his eye. Rachel saw her chance and fires a Shadow Ball at him. Gale dodges it and fires his own, but Rachel barely dodged the attack as both moves hit the ground causing an explosion.
"Gale, use Double Team!"
Gale charges at Rachel creating four of himself all charging up their attacks. Rachel tried to sense which one is which, but was too tired to figure it out.
Ryan, tried to figure it out himself looked to the ground to see which one was real from watching the ground. He knows four of the Gale illusions are not physical meaning they can't make any imprint on the ground, while the real one can. After watching each one he found one of them crushing through a rock on the ground and knew he is the real one.
"Rachel, use Teleport and then Thunderpunch the second one on the far left!"
Rachel teleports away just as the five Gales appeared before her. They all missed and Rachel appeared behind them and punches the real Gale almost knocking him to the ground.
"Gale! Use Night Slash!" Mia ordered as her Pokémon manages to recover and deliver a direct hit with his attack knocking Rachel to the ground.
Gale is also knocked down, but was still moving. Rachel on the other hand was down and was struggling to get up.
"Rachel!" Ryan shouted worried that he got her hurt.
Grace who was watching from the balcony looked scared that her mother got hurt, and wanted to go down to help her. Annabeth though kept her from doing that and tried reassuring her she is okay. The others looked on surprised as well and hoped Rachel is all right as well. The crowd awaits to see if the Gardevoir is done, who continues struggling to get up.
Rachel, stay down. Ryan ordered not wanting to risk his girlfriend's health anymore. Please, let me pull you out and get someone else in.
Rachel replied with a 'no' head shake refusing to give up. No, let me stay and fight. Please Ryan, I want to continue.
Rachel, I don't want to see you get hurt anymore and I don't think anyone else who cares about you wants to see that too. Ryan replied wanting to keep Rachel safe. Now please, return.
I said no! Rachel shouted through telepathy surprising Ryan since it was the first time she ever did that. I know no one wants to see me hurting, but I can't give up. I want to prove to everyone, even that monster Apollo who is watching that no matter what happens I won't give up. I'll keep on fighting and I'll do it for everyone that looks up to us like Grace. So please, let me stay and finish this.
Ryan wanted to say no, as much as he wanted to say it to keep her safe he knew he couldn't do it. She really wants to go through with this and continue fighting. He sees it in her eyes as she makes it on one leg. He closed his eyes and knew for her he'll do it.
"All right, but if anything happens I'm pulling you out," he replied giving her a small smile. "Okay?"
Rachel nods and smiles back at him. Okay.
She won't give up. Gale knew this and he looks over to see Mia knew this too. Let me end it with a Shadow Ball. A weak one so that it won't seriously hurt her, but it will knock her out.
Mia hesitated not wanting to hurt Rachel any further, but she knew this fight had to end soon. If it didn't then Rachel will get hurt even more. All right, do it.
Gale charge at Rachel as he is about to finish this fight with the Shadow Ball. Ryan saw an opening and made their move. Rachel, now!
Rachel teleports away from the attack and appears right behind Gale. She fires off a Shadow Ball just as Gale was charging up for his own. The attack hits Gale's back knocking him towards the wall crashing into it. Everyone looks on waiting to see if the fight will continue or if the fight is over.
Gale appears from the smoke looking like he is okay and is ready to continue. But just before he can he falls over and passes out.
"Gallade is unable to continue, the winner goes to Gardevoir!" the referee announced as the fans cheered loudly.
Ryan runs up to Rachel just in time to catch her from falling from exhaustion. "You did it, Rachel. You won. I'm proud of you and I'm sorry I wanted to pull you out of the fight. I just didn't want to see you get hurt anymore."
Rachel nods understanding what Ryan wanted to do and just snuggles against him. Its okay, I'm just glad I was able to win for you and everyone. I do feel bad for hitting Gale from behind.
Ryan felt bad as well, but knew he would be okay and Mia would not be mad at them. "I'm sure they'll be fine and don't forget this fight isn't over yet.
Rachel knew that was true. She looks up to the screen and realizes they have to defeat one more Pokémon before the fighting is over.
"Rachel, sit this one out, okay?" Ryan asked not wanting to risk Rachel in this next fight.
Rachel wasn't going to complain about that. She knew she didn't have much left in her and wasn't going to risk getting hurt even more after what she went through.
Mia helps Gale up and kisses him on the forehead. "You did well, I'm proud of you and I'm glad you kept on fighting."
She returns him into his Pokéball knowing this was going to be pointless, but she wasn't going to give up the fight even if the odds are against her. If she is going out she'll go out fighting.
"Go, Dragonair!" she throws out her Pokéball releasing her Pokémon.
"A Dragonair, oh boy this is going to be tough," Ryan said to himself knowing he could send Froslass to fight the Dragon-type Pokémon, but decided against it since she is still recovering from her fight. "Can't risk sending Rachel out either, so that leaves me with one Pokémon to use."
Rachel knew which Pokémon Ryan plans to use and was a little concerned. You sure about this?
Ryan nods knowing he what he is doing as he tosses out his Pokéball. "Go! Sylveon!"
Out of the Pokéball came the new evolve form of Eevee, Sylveon. She receives a mixed reaction with half of the crowd cheering, but others never seeing this Pokémon before. Even Mia has never seen this Pokémon before. She wonders what it is and what type it is.
"Let the fight begin!" the announcer began the next fight as stars now before Mia can figure out what this Pokémon is.
"Dragonair, use Ice Beam!" she ordered as her Pokémon flies up and attacks.
"Sylveon, dodge and use Swift!" Ryan ordered as his Pokémon dodges the attack and fires several glowing stars at Dragonair.
"Dodge it and use Thunderbolt!" Dragonair uses her long snake-like body to dodge the attacks and her horn begins to glow with static before firing an electric attack at her opponent.
"Dodge it as well!" Sylveon dodges the attack and made a cheering sound each time she dodges the attack.
"Dragonair, use Dragon Tail!" Dragonair charges at the Pokémon swinging her tail.
"Sylveon, use Disarming Voice!" Sylvania fires her attack, which is a loud sonic attack that hits her opponent knocking her away near Mia.
"Dragonair!" Mia is shocked to see that the attack actually did a lot of damage to her Dragon-type Pokémon. Something she thought was not possible. "How did something like that attack hurt her so much?"
Up in the balcony Annabeth recognized the Pokémon and began to smile. "So he decided to use her after all."
This got the attention of the others, with Dawn asking the first question. "What do you mean? Do you know what that Pokémon is?"
Annabeth nods in response and ban explaining. "It's another evolve form of Eevee. Ryan got her to evolve about a month ago and was unsure what type she was until she went to the Unova region."
"That's where we went," said Iris.
Annabeth nods her head. "There he found out that she is a new type of Pokémon called a Fairy."
"A fairy?" Amy asked never hearing that kind of Pokémon before.
Johanna continued explaining for her friend from what she told her before. "They have just been discovered and they are said to be so strong they can defeat a Dragon-type Pokémon, including being unaffected by their attacks."
Iris was shocked to hear something so cute could be so dangerous against a Dragon-type Pokémon. First it was an Ice-type, then another Dragon-type beating the other, and now a Fairy-type? I don't even know what to think about this anymore.
Grace however liked the idea better than Iris did. Well I like it. Go, Sylveon! Kick that dragon's…um butt?
Dawn looked over noticing Iris back in the corner where she was before. "Um are you okay?"
"How can something as amazing as a dragon lose to a fairy? It makes no sense," Iris muttered to herself depressed by this new information.
Back in the battle Dragonair continued her attack, but kept out of distance from Sylveon. Mia now sees that whatever type of Pokémon this is, has attacks that work well against Dragon-types. This puts her in a disadvantage since she knows nothing about it and what it can do. In a way she likes this new challenge since it shows there are other type of Pokémon she has never seen or heard about that are proving to be worthy challenges.
Mia began to smile. "Well, you continue to surprise me with every move you make huh, Ryan? Well, we still have some tricks ourselves."
Ryan is happy to see Sylveon is holding her own and is glad to see all that training he put with her paid off. Even before finding out about how Fairy-types can defeat Dragon-types he had trained her so she can use her new attacks and speed to her advantage.
He wasn't at first going to use her for the Sinnoh League, but once he found out what she can do against dragons, well he decided to bring her along. Good thing too since this made the fight much easier.
Ryan. Rachel called out. We should try ending this soon before Mia does something to turn the tide of the fight.
Ryan nods in agreement. "All right, Sylveon, use Disarming Voice!"
Sylveon goes to use her attack, but Mia was ready for it. "Dragonair, use Surf!"
Dragonair summons a large wave of water that heads towards Sylveon, but also towards Ryan. Rachel uses Protect to shield them, while Sylveon tries outrunning the attack but is hit by the water. The water covers the arena floor with the announcer and referee who also got hit by the attack are on the barricade both wet. Ryan and Rachel are safe from the attack, but Rachel fell over from exhaustion.
Ryan caught her and climbed on a nearby rock to get out of the water and placed his Pokémon on it. "Rachel, you okay?"
Rachel turns towards Ryan and nods. Just…tired…is Sylveon okay?
Ryan looks over and sees Sylveon coming out of the water, but is swimming around the water playfully. He figures the attack didn't do much damage, and laughed a little when he saw what his Pokémon is doing.
"Even before becoming a Sylveon she was always silly," he said to himself.
Rachel looks over and nods in agreement. Yes she is, but be careful. This fight isn't over yet."
Ryan nods in agreement and sees Mia has also climbed on top of a rock. "Covering us in water, was that your plan?!"
Mia shook her head in response. "I'm glad you and everyone besides your Pokémon got out of the water, because this is going to hurt."
Ryan wasn't sure what she had planned at first, until he saw Dragonair's horn begin to glow with static surrounding it. "Sylveon, get out of the water!"
Sylveon did just that, but as soon as she did Dragonair launched a Thunderbolt attack that managed to hit her opponent knocking her into a nearby rock. The attack caused paralyzes that kept her from moving and made her vulnerable.
"Damn, I should have seen that coming," said Ryan letting his guard down for that one moment caused him to make a mistake.
"Dragonair, hit her with Ice Beam!" Mia ordered seeing an opening to attack.
"Sylveon, use Protect!" Ryan ordered hoping she can still use that attack to defend herself.
Luckily for him it does as his shield protects her just as the Ice Beam covers it with ice trapping her inside. Mia is surprised that the Pokémon had enough left in her to counter the attack, but she knew it didn't matter. As long as she remains paralyzed she can't do much. Even if she could she had the upper hand and as long as she remains out of range she can't hit her with any of her attacks.
Ryan, what are you going to do? Rachel asked knowing he could switch out with either Froslass or her, but it was too risky.
For one thing she is still too tired from her fight with Gallade, and this Dragonair is faster than Froslass who is also recovering from her fight. So whatever Ryan has planned he is going to need to pull it out soon or Sylveon will lose.
"Dragonair will try breaking through the shield with another strong attack and the water is still electrical. So if Sylveon wants to take her down the water will need to go and then…" Ryan soon came up with an idea a hopes it works. "Rachel, can you contact Sylveon and let her know what I got plan?"
Rachel read Ryan's thoughts learning of his plan and began to smile herself. Nothing in the rules don't say I can't communicate for you with your Pokémon.
"Dragonair, finish this off with Hyper Beam!"
Dragonair flies up and fires her attack that broke through the barrier and destroyed the rock Sylveon was on. She floats down looking for Sylveon, not noticing the water is reseeding as if it's being drained away. Mia assumes the attack made a whole that was draining the water away. As the cloud of dust begins to disappear along with the water she sees that Sylveon is gone and there is a hole in the ground.
Mia soon realized what happened. "She dug underground!"
Just before Mia can get Dragonair away, Sylveon broke through from the ground behind her. "Sylveon, use Dazzling Gleam!"
Sylveon fires a bright light projectiles that hit Dragonair crashing into the ground hard. Sylveon lands on the ground panting a little as Dragonair is checked on by the referee noticing she is passed out.
"Dragonair is unable to continue. The winner is Sylveon!"
The crowd cheered loudly as the announcer begins speaking. "Ladies and gentlemen here is your winner of the first round, Ryan! Which means he'll be going on to the semi-finals!"
"Yes! We did it!" Ryan shouted pumping his fist into the air. Sylveon runs up to her trainer and jumps into his arms. "Good work, girl. You did a great job out there."
Sylveon licks Ryan on the cheek making him laugh, while Rachel walks over giving Ryan a hug. That was a good plan you made. Having Sylveon use Dig while in the barrier causing the water to drain away, and wait for Dragonair to come close to the ground to connect with that attack.
"Yes it was and I'm glad it worked out well," said Ryan when he noticed Mia approach him after getting her Dragonair back in her Pokéball. "Hey Mia, um no hard feelings on losing right?"
Mia shook her head in response and extends her hand towards him. "That was a fun battle. I'm glad I got to go up against you and your Pokémon."
Ryan shakes Mia's hand and is happy that she took the loss well. "Thanks, I'm glad to have fought you too and hope we can fight again soon."
Mia nods in agreement. "Same here," she then turns towards Rachel. "I'm sorry for what happened. I hope you're not too hurt."
Rachel shook her head in response. I'll live and hope Gale feels better too.
"Me too," she then turns back towards Ryan. "Good luck and kick some butts, okay?"
"We will," Ryan replied as Mia begins walking away.
Backstage (Nova's pov)
I watched how the first fight of the Sinnoh League began and ended. Hard to imagine that girl who I confronted last night was a lot tougher than she looked. Even the trainer she went up against, one of those brats she encountered long ago was this strong. This puts her in a bit of a disadvantage.
Still, it didn't matter to her since she still has a job to do and will complete it no matter what. She just needs to make it to the next round and keep the fighting going this long so everything can go according to plan. Not Cyrus's plan though, Apollo's plan. The plan they went over during their time going over what they plan to do and what he has in store for everyone.
"Celebrate your victory you fool, because the end is coming for you all and for you as well sister."
Chapter is over and so is the first round of this battle. Hope everyone likes it and likes the new Pokémon that Ryan revealed here. Yeah Fairy-types defeating a Dragon-type and how the attacks dragons use don't work on the fairies was a surprise when I first found out. My friend who learned about this was shocked, but I was happy, especially when my Gardevoir became a Fairy-type.
Nothing can stop the fairies now! Anyways, I want to thank everyone for the support of the story and the reviews as well. I appreciate it guys and I'm glad you all are enjoying how this is all going. I will try to upload the next chapter as soon as I can since I am going on a trip in a few days.
So please be patient guys and don't rush me as I try finishing the chapters up. I want to also thank my friend for his help and if you all like how this went then please leave some reviews and let me know what you think, but if you didn't like this then please don't leave a flame review. I have a Tumblr account where you can find it on my profile and to let you all know how things are going for my upcoming chapters. Take care guys and see you all next time.
