Chapter 35

{WHAAAAA? Another chapter? I really have no idea why I'm surprised. Well I'm not really surprised, I don't know why I'm saying I'm surprise! ANYWAYS! I hope you guys like this chapter. Enjoy!}

Natsu POV

Today was the best day of my life. Ya I had to do the Training Games, but I was doing them with Luce. We weren't called to do any challenges, except the team challenge which Laxus and Gajeel did most of the work, so Lucy and I stuck together for the rest of the games. It was absolutely amazing.

The only thing that bothered me the rest of the day was that Lucy kept her cloth like gloves on. It covered her guild mark, which beyond annoyed me. I could just burn them off her hands, but then she would probably smack me and call me a jerk. What really got my spirits up was when at the end of the day we found out that Fairy Tail was finally at the top of the charts. And surprisingly Winged Hearts made it in second place, causing Sabertooth to be third place.

But what really made me scream in delight was when Chapati announced that Saturday and Sunday we wouldn't be doing the games, like a weekend break. This meant that I could sleep in and relax a bit. Well until Monday, then it's back to the Training Games.

To celebrate the weekend break all the guilds, including Sabertooth, decided to throw a party that would last until Sunday night. We all picked to have a beach party at the board walk, so we could swim and enjoy some snacks at the food stands. Everyone split up to go and get changed into their swimming suits.

I sighed as I placed my hands on the back of my head, relaxing as we headed down our path. "It's nice to finally have a break!" I whispered to the group. "Indeed, I will enjoy this little vacation!" Erza said as she closed her eyes in calmness. "I kind of wish that the games would just be over…" I said as I glared at nothing.

"Well it won't be very long, it ends on Wednesday." Lucy said with a smile. I eyed her in the corner of my eye, seeing how relaxed she was. After all the things that happened, I think this beach party will be perfect for her. She's been through a lot lately, but now she can finally lay back and be happy again. Though the past will still haunt her, she will have us to help her forget those hard times. I'm just glad to have her back in my life again…

Once we arrived at our cabin, we hurriedly changed. After a while of waiting for Lucy to get out of the bathroom, she finally came out. Showing off her pink two piece bathing suit that was decorated with small purple flowers. Around her waist was a white cloth that was a bit see through, it tied at one side of her waist and went all the way down to mid-thigh.

Erza wore a two piece as well, but the top was strapless. It was white with jewels spread across it. Laxus wore simple black bathing shorts with lightning rods printed at the bottom of them; it showed off his Fairy Tail tattoo thing that was on his left abdomen. Gajeel wore gray and black bathing shorts, a head band tied around his forehead. Gray wore little blue bathing shorts, and I wore black shorts with red and orange flames printed on the bottom of them. My usual scarf wrapped around my head.

Lucy had a satchel like purse that hung over her shoulder, probably containing towels and sun screen. "We ready?" I asked as I jumped to my feet, off the bed. "Wait, give me a second." Erza said as she walked to a bed. Out of nowhere she pulled out a green inner tube with a dinosaur's head and neck on it from behind the head board. "Now we are ready!" She said with a huge grin.

I frown, not going to ask how she managed to shove the thing behind a bed. "Okay then… let's go…" Lucy said as she eyed Erza. We all walked out in the open, ready to head for the beach. We talked the rest of the way there, enjoying each other's company. When the board walk came into view we all smiled as we jogged to the wooden road. Out in front of it was the beach, it was low tide so there were people lying on towels enjoying the sun's rays.

When we arrived at the board walk, we were greeted by smiles and waves. We split up to go and look around the stands, it seemed like there was a lot to do. There was even a fair going on. I stayed with Lucy, wanting to do anything she wanted to do.

After a few minutes of walking around and enjoying the fairs mini games, someone suddenly yelled behind us, "Lucy!" Lucy and I both turned around to see Wendy and Draco running up to us. Wendy waved her hand in the air as she sprinted to Lucy's side. The celestial mage smiled at them and waved back, "Hey guys!" She said with her eyes closed.

Once they arrived, Draco wrapped her arms around the blonde girl. I smiled, seeing how much the spirit loved Lucy. "Isn't this exciting, Spirit? I've never been to a beach party!" Draco said as a huge grin spread across her face. Lucy smiled with the golden dragon and patted her head, "Ya, I'm glad we could get a quick break."

Draco stepped back, unwrapping her arms around the brown eyed girl. "Wendy and I were just looking for Carla. We don't know where she went." Draco said as she glanced around the fair. "We can help you guys find her if you'd like?" Lucy said bluntly. Wendy waved her hands out in front of her as she said, "We'll be fine Lucy, it's okay. We can find her on our own."

Lucy raised an eye brow in confusion as she asked, "Well why not?" Wendy blushed as she looked to me then to Lucy, "Well… it looks like you two are on a date. I don't want to ruin it." At this, Lucy's cheeks burst red, while mine were dusted with pink.

"In that case, come with us Spirit." Draco said as she grabbed the golden haired girl's wrist. My eyes widened as the celestial spirit dragged a speechless Lucy away. I blinked my surprised eyes away, narrowing them instead. "What the hell Draco?" I said as I stomped after the departing two with Wendy following after me.

After a while I lost where they went, I could only rely on my nose now. I folded my arms in front of me as I glared at my surroundings. "Why does Draco hate me so much?" I asked Wendy who was walking beside me. "Because you're a dragon slayer!" She said without thinking. "Coming from the person who uses the same type of magic as me…" I said as I eyed her. Her eyes widened as she blushed. "She hangs out with you which doesn't make much sense because you're a dragon slayer as well." I said as I placed my hands on the back of my head. "Maybe it's because you're a male and I'm a female…" She whispered in thought.

"Ya, prob…" I stopped myself as a familiar scent hit me. I looked out at the beach, smelling Lucy's sweet aroma coming from the sand. I hurriedly jumped off the board walk and ran around on the beach, Lucy's fragrance getting stronger.

The weird thing was that Lucy's scent was mixed with someone else's. It wasn't Draco's; it was an odor I've oddly smelt before. Yet I can't remember whose it belonged to.

"Natsu, what are you doing?" Wendy's voice asked behind me. I forgot she was there running with me. "I smell Lucy…" I said as Lucy's and the unidentified scent got stronger. "Oh good, is she alright?" The sky dragon asked, a bit out of breathe. "I don't know. There is this other scent mixed in with hers…" I said as I frowned. "Maybe its Draco's…" Wendy said as she gasped for air.

"It's not Draco's; I don't know whose it is." I said as I looked around, seeing we were running a bit out of the heavy populated area. There were hardly any people on the beach, only some walked on the board walk.

My eyes widened as I stopped dead in my tracks. Shadows under the board walk caught my eye. I turned and faced the figures. I knew one of them was Lucy, and one was Draco. The two other figures I had no idea who they were.

I narrowed my eyes as I trudged over to them, it seemed like they had no idea I was there. As I got closer, I noticed the tall figure was a male with blue hair; the smaller one was a female with pink hair. That's when it snapped in my head…

I stepped in front of Lucy and Draco as I eyed a shocked Jellal and a surprised Meredy. "What are you two doing here?" I asked threateningly. "Natsu?" I heard Lucy's startled voice behind me. "What's going on here?" I asked as I looked over my shoulder to look into Lucy's eyes.

"Nothing is going on…" She said with a frown. "Liar…" I whispered as I turned my head back at Jellal and Meredy. "You better tell me what's going on or I'll burn yo…" I was cut off as my eyes widened. Jellal glared at me as if he wanted me to disappear so he could continue discussing whatever he was discussing with Lucy.

"Natsu, you need to leave." He whispered irritated. "Why would I leave?" I asked as I crossed my arms over my torso. His eyes narrowed even more as his face contorted in pure anger, "Leave, now."

I blinked in surprise, shocked how Jellal was acting. "Come on Jellal, calm down." Lucy said from behind me. "Why should I calm down?" Jellal asked as he glared at me. "Lucy, he's just stressed out…" Meredy said as she frowned. "I am not stressed." Jellal said, now glaring at Meredy. I raised a brow in confusion, wondering what made him so strained.

"What happened?" Wendy asked as she started walking up to us. "It's nothing Wendy… we should go…" Draco said as she dragged the blue haired girl away from us. Jellal groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose, "I don't know what to do…" He whispered with closed eyes. Meredy patted his back reassuringly, "It's okay Jellal, we will figure out what's going on…"

Jellal opened his eyes and looked up at me, "Lucy, if anything happens you need to tell us immediately." Lucy walked beside me and smiled, "Of course, I want to help…" I frowned in confusion, "Wha?"

"It's nothing, no need to worry about it!" Lucy said as she smiled happily, but her eyes told another story. "Luce, there is no need to lie to me…" I whispered a bit hurt. "Really Natsu, there is nothing to worry about." She said as she looked up at me.

I observed her with a frown, overwhelmed with the emotions swimming in her chocolate eyes. I sighed and smiled, "fine…" I whispered. Her eyes slightly calmed down as she turned to Jellal and Meredy, "We will talk later…" She said with a nod. They softly smile and nodded, turning to walk away.

I bite me lip as she turned back to me, letting her see I was still unconvinced. "Natsu, please don't think about it. Really, there is nothing wrong." She said desperately. I pout and look away from her, "I just want to know wha…" I was cut off as Lucy wrapped her arms around my neck and silenced me with a kiss.

My eyes widened as she erased all my thoughts. I even forgot what we were talking about. I let my eye lids close as I tied my arms around her waist, pulling her closer to me. I pout as she pulled away from me; she smirked as she said, "Let's get some cotton candy." I smiled as I gazed into her eyes.

"Okay…" I said as I let go of her, grabbing her hand in mine. I intertwined her fingers in mine, letting her lean her head on my shoulder. I honestly thought I didn't have to worry about anything anymore, that I would be carefree for once. I thought I was finally free from the hurt and pain. But I would never expect the worse to happen. I would never be prepared when my worst nightmare…

…would come true.

{Dun dun DUN! I'm just trying to confuse you guys, throw you off guard kind off. But that's what a writer does; surprise their audience with the unexpected. Remember what I said, 'I had to put Lucy in Sabertooth'? Well I'll tell you in the next chapter. Oh and sorry the chapter was a bit short, I promise the next chapter won't be like this! Please tell me how the story is going and please review!}
