#37 – Girl
Takeru frowns when he hears nothing, his ear pressed against fabric. "I don't hear anything."
Kotoha giggles. "Takerus-sama, it's only been three weeks. It'll take some time before we can hear or feel anything."
"I suppose," he agrees, sitting up and taking her hands in his. She smiles up at him, and, despite being a little pale and drawn, she is happy.
But then, she's chewing at her lip, eyebrows furrowed, and Takeru becomes worried. Is she in pain…?
When he asks, she only looks startled, and shakes her head vigorously. "Oh no, Takeru-sama! I'm not in any pain. Just…" she trails off, uncertain.
"Just…?" he repeats, eyebrows raised.
"Takeru-sama…do you want a boy…or a girl?" she asks hesitantly.
Takeru blinks in confusion. Kotoha's only three weeks along, and she's already worrying about the gender. He looks down at their enjoined hands, a small smile never leaving his face.
"A little girl would be nice," he murmurs.
