Veve?"

"Yeah? What is it?" Natalie asked. Lysandre took the empty seat beside her and sighed.

"Vesta... I know you've only been here for a week and so..."

"And?" Natalie asked.

"I haven't been telling you everything." Lysandre sighed, "Team Flare's goal, as you already guessed it, is to create a perfect world."

"Yeah." Natalie nodded. She knew that long before she even fought Aliana.

"But the thing is. We have a way to...make it perfect. And it's one you're not going to like. You remember me telling you about the Ultimate Weapon, yes?"

Natalie nodded.

"A few year ago, we discovered that weapon buried right in Geosenge Town. Right now we've just finished the preparations to power the weapon. All we need now is the key to power it."

Natalie bit her bottom lip. Her face held a look of fear and worry as sweat started to appear on her forehead. "What are you saying? Are you saying you're going to use the weapon to wipe out everyone from the face of the Earth?" she asked nervously.

"Yes..." Lysandre said softly.

"The Pokemon... What about the Pokemon? Will they be alright?" tears were brimming in Natalie's dark eyes as she stared at her father. Silently praying that at least the Pokemon will be alright. Lysandre closed his eyes and looked away sadly. A tear rolling down his cheek. "No..." Natalie whispered.

"I'm so sorry Veve..." Lysandre whispered, "I didn't want it to come to this, I really didn't. The Pokemon are the real victims of this world. Merely being used as tools for crime. I cry only for them and them alone. But with the new world, it'll be open to newer life. Life free from crime and greed. Every Pokemon's sacrifice will not be forgotten."

Natalie shook her head sadly as the tears started pouring out. She was having a difficult time taking it all in. It sounded outlandish, but at the same time she knew it was a bitter possibility. She didn't want to believe. She didn't even want to remember it. The teen immediately wrapped her arms around her father, burying her face into his chest and sobbing hysterically. Lysandre wrapped his arms around her tightly and allowed her to cry as long as she needed to.

"W-w-what about u-u-us? A-are we g-g-going t-to die t-t-too?" she asked.

"No." Lysandre replied, "Team Flare and their Pokemon will survive. We'll be the ones to ensure that the human and Pokemon race continues."

"What about Malva? And the professor? And my Pokemon? Will they be safe too?"

"Yes." Lysandre replied, "They are the only family I have left besides you. And your Pokemon will be safe. I will assure you. And Diantha will be with us as well."

Natalie sniffed. "You mean Diantha is part of the family?" she asked.

"Well... She's not biologically related to us. But she is a long-time friend and your Aunt as well. She and your mother were always close friends with one another." Lysandre laughed softly.

Natalie sniffled again before leaning against her father. Emotionally drained. "But...dose it have to be this way?" she whispered, "People can change... This world is full of crime, yes. But dose everyone have to suffer? Not everyone deserves to die..."

"If that were possible, all of the wars would have ended long ago." Lysandre said as he gently wiped some tears off of Natalie's wet face.

"Just...give them a chance..."

"You're too nice, Vesta." Lysandre sighed, "You're just like me when I was your age. Always helping others and believing in kindness. Believing that everyone would always have your back. But that isn't how the world works. I learned that the hard way. People are greedy, Vesta. They learn to take advantage of your kindness and use you for their own selfish ways. Tell me, has anyone done anything nice for you?"

Natalie opened her mouth to reply, but nothing came out. Lysandre had a good point. Even though she's never asked for any award, she couldn't help but think. When was the last time someone walked up to her and asked if she needed some help? And not because she helped them. She wanted it to come from their heart. But no. No one's ever done that for her. Not even her own friends. Perhaps Lysandre's idea of a perfect world isn't so bad after all? There'll be less problems in the world...

"You're right..." she murmured.

Lysandre smiled. "I knew you'd see it my way." he said before he gently kissed her forehead, "I was hoping you'd say that because I don't want to lose you again. With the new world, we can start over. We can start fresh. We can be the family we never got to be."

Natalie smiled and felt herself slowly succumb to sleepiness. "When...are you going to fire the weapon?" she murmured tiredly.

"As soon as we get the key. Now go to sleep, my little darling. We have a big day tomorrow."

Natalie whispered an ok before falling alseep in the haven of her father's protective hold.

...

Calem looked out his bedroom window and up at the starry night sky. Despite all the asking he and Shauna have done, they weren't able to get a lead. "Oh, Greninja." Calem sighed as he walked over to his bed and collapsed on it, "What are we going to do? We've looked everywhere and we still can't find Natalie." The blue frog was perched on a chair that was present in his room and made a sad croak. He could sense his Trainer's sorrow through the bond they've formed during their journey. He wished there was a way he could help but so far he's clueless as to what he should do. All he can really do is give him support.

Calem fell on his bed and rolled onto his side. "Maybe we'll have more luck in the morning..." he muttered, "Good night, Greninja..."

...

"Where...am I?"

Calem found himself hovering in mid-air. The area around him was nothing but pitch blackness. "H-hello?" he called, "Is...anyone here?" the only reply he got was the echo of his voice. Calem felt himself suddenly become scared. Why was he alone? Where was he? What happened to everyone?

Do not be afraid, human.

"Wah!" Calem jolted in surprise. He frantically looked around for the source of the voice. "Who's there!? Show yourself!"

Tehehehehe. Sorry about that. I probably should've made my presence known first.

"Huh?" Before Calem's eyes a small light appeared. That suddenly manifested into a Pokemon. The Pokemon was fairly small, and was holding a flower over her shoulder like an umbrella. "You're a Floette!" Calem gasped, "A Floette using telepathy!"

The Floette giggled. Surprised? Even Pokemon can speak when they want! The Floette playfully twirled once more floating closer to Calem's face. The Floette's voice sounded like that of a five-year old girl. I've met a lot of Pokemon Trainers in my life. But you've got to be the most interesting of them all!

"Life time? A lot? How long have you been around exactly?" Calem asked. He felt stupid asking a question like that.

Oh, I don't know. About 3,000 years I suppose. The Floette replied after thinking a bit.

"3,000 years!?" Calem exclaimed, "That can't be right! No Pokemon can live that long! A legendary, maybe, but not a average Pokemon!"

The Floette giggled. Nothing is right or wrong when it comes to Pokemon. I've only been around for so long because of my Trainer! The fairy pokemon playfully circled Calem once before stopping infront of his face again. But it's been so long since I've seen him, though. It's hard seeing him suffer for so long.

"Who's your Trainer?" Calem asked.

You should know this, Calem. You and your friend saw him earlier.

"What do you me-" Calem then gasped when he remembered the man he and Shauna saw on Route 4. Kept muttering about a flower Pokemon that was given eternal life. "You mean that guy is your Trainer!?"

The Floette smiled and nodded. Yep! Although it's been so long since I've actually been around him. I know he misses me a lot, and I miss him too. But the reason why I'm avoiding him is because he did something that hurt me so much.

"What...did he do?" Calem asked.

You'll learn soon. But please listen, you must help him! The Floette cried.

"Why? What happened?"

There was no verbal reply just yet. The Floette instead raised her flower as high up as she could. The flower glowed and the darkness was replaced with landscape. Mountains, trees, and a river nearby. Calem found himself and the Floette to be transparent. He looked down below and spotted the man he saw earlier in the day.

He was just walking through the woods when a group of the bad humans who took your friend ambushed him!

Team Flare grunts suddenly surrounded the man. All with their Pokemon growling and snarling at him.

My Trainer knew he couldn't take them all so he surrendered.

The man lowered his head in submission as allowed himself to be taken away. The landscape around them dissipated and they were surrounded by blackness once more. The Floette soon floated over to Calem until she was up at his face. An expression of sadness and worry present on her face.

Please! You must help my friend! He may have done a bad thing in the past, but let him be able to see the future along with every other human and Pokemon!

...

"GAH!" Calem cried when he landed face first on the floor. His blanket falling over him.

"Gren! Gren!" Greninja cried him alarm as he hurriedly jumped over and helped his Trainer up.

"Thanks pal." Calem said as he rubbed his head. He looked around and noticed that he was back in his room. Had it all been a dream? Calem was about to think so when he spotted a green flower petal on his bed. He picked it up and held it in the palm of his hand.

Please! You must help my friend! He may have done a bad thing in the past, but let him be able to see the future along with every other human and Pokemon! The Floette's cry echoed in his head. Calem had no idea what he meant. But he had a feeling that something big is going to happen tomorrow.

The next day...

Venice pushed his way through the crowd of Grunts. Their orders were clear. The day for the elimination of the old world and the coming of the new world has arrived. They've gotten the key to activate the weapon. By tonight, they would activate the weapon and watch all life on Earth become extinguished like an infestation. Venice had been given special orders by Lysandre. He was to get his daughter to their base in Geosenge and wait for his arrival. He finally arrived to her room and frantically started knocking on the door.

"Venice?" Natalie said when she answered, "You look worn out. What's wrong?"

"Get ready." he panted, "I'm taking you to Geosenge."

Uh oh. O_O

Heads up! The next chapter will be told in Calem's side. Meaning he'll be fighting the scientists and all that jazz.
