A week passed. She had finally been moved into her own room, it was attached to her fathers so they had easy access in case something happened. There were two berths in her room, one for herself and the other for either Bee or Jazz in case her father would be in late. She had learnt how to use the comm. systems, how to access and close off her bonds correctly, monitor energy levels and simple system checks, mastered transformation, walking and running. She had been introduced slowly to a few new bots each day, she was shy and jittery around them. Slow movements were best used when interacting with her, else she would slip into her tiger form and hide or lash out. She was ever so slowly learning how to control that small glitch, (as the med team called it) with deep vents or closing her optics and shutting down her audios for a few moments as her family would send comfort and a feeling of safety to her.
Megatron was busy with Optimus, helping catch up on what he had missed. He was second in command under Optimus and was trying to show he was more than capable of following directions from Prime and help with keeping things running smoothly. There had been a few more arrivals who had to be integrated into the population and given jobs. He left Jazz and Bee to watch over her while he was so busy.
Bee was helping with energon collecting once more, so today, that left Jazz with Moonshadow.
Moonshadow stood in front of the closed door nervous and yet excited, Jazz waiting patiently behind her. She ran a servo down her plating, as a human would do to smooth out their clothing. It was more of a motion of comfort to her.
"Ya look fine," Jazz grinned at her.
"I don't think I'm all that hungry," she said quietly and turned to return to her berth. As she said this, her tank rumbled.
"It's ya first time out proper," Jazz placed a servo on her shoulder softly and turned her back to the door. "I'll be wit' ya so ya got nothin' ta fear. We will have fun wait and see."
She looked over her shoulder at him, he had his visor raised and his optics shone at her in encouragement. She took a deep vent and stepped up to the door again, it opened at a touch of a button and revealed an empty corridor. Exhaling she stepped out with Jazz and slowly started to head towards the rec room. Two mechs approached her, one red the other a golden yellow both giving her a warm grin. She remembered them from their introduction a few days before. The red was Sideswipe and the golden yellow was Sunstreaker. There was something about them, she wasn't sure what though. She was happy to have them near.
"Hey Moonshadow," Sideswipe greeted her.
"Hello," she said shyly.
"Mind if we tag along?" Sideswipe asked.
"Um," she looked at Jazz who grinned and gave a nonchalant shrug. "If you like."
They got the to rec room and she felt nervousness, which Jazz quickly subdued through their bond as Sunstreaker opened the door for her, revealing a few bots sitting around tables with their cubes of energon. The chatter quieted as she stepped in the room and red and blue optics turned to watch her. Jazz led her to a chair while Sunstreaker went to get each of them a cube of energon from the dispensor. As she sat down the chatter returned but there were a few curious optics keeping track of her.
Sunstreaker returned with their cubes and sat on her right, Sideswipe sat on her left while Jazz sat across the table from her. As she sipped her energon, she carefully looked at the bots in the room. Jazz and the twins started joking around, trying to make her feel at ease and finally got her to crack a small smile. Sideswipe nudged her and she looked up at him, her optics locked onto his and she felt her tanks churn in a strange way so she quickly looked away. Jazz radiated amusement across the bond to which she mentally slapped him.
"So how is it out of the medbay?" Knock Out asked as he appeared and took a seat at their table.
"Quieter," she said.
"Its actually her first time bein' out proper," Jazz filled in with a wink.
"Have you been locking yourself away in your room?" Knock Out chuckled as the rest of the table nodded. "You should be out and about, flaunting what you got, not hiding away. Which reminds me..." he took a sip of his energon, "have you thought over the colour scheme I gave you?"
"Well-" she was rudely interrupted.
"What colour scheme?" Sunstreaker growled, jumping up and leaning in Knock Out's face.
"Sunny," Sides pulled him back to his seat, a knowing look passed between the twins as Moonshadow sunk lower in her chair.
"Sorry," Sunstreaker muttered.
"I didn't mind the purple," Moonshadow said quietly, slightly nervous because of Sunstreakers sudden reaction. "But the pinks were blergh."
"Pink?" Sunstreaker groaned running a servo down his face, he stared at Knock Out. "Pink?"
"It would suit her," Knock Out said with a shrug. "What would be your choices?"
Moonshadow sat up a little straighter as Sunstreaker looked her over, a thoughtful look on his face.
"With those beautiful lavender optics," Sunstreaker said carefully making her blush slightly, "I'm thinking purple, blue and black."
"I have to agree with Sunny," Sideswipe said, nodding as he too looked her over critically.
Moonshadow half listened to them argue over the different shades of each colour they could do. Jazz even got into it when Knock Out mentioned something about adding hot pink in there somewhere. She rolled her optics as they grew louder. Feeling oddly comfortable in the room now, she decided to get a top up while they were still arguing.
She got up and went to the energon dispenser, placing her cube down she looked over the machine wondering how to fill her cube when a silver servo appeared in front of her and pressed a button causing the bright blue liquid to fill her cube.
She looked up into the blue optics of a mech she hadnt met before, his helm, arms and waist were red, his chassis and legs were orange, and he had a yellow flame like detail across his chassis with a yellow spoiler across the back of his shoulders almost like wings.
"Thanks," she blushed.
"No problem," he said with a charming smile. "Are you new here too?"
"Sort of," she shrugged.
"My designation is Hot Rod," he said filling his own cube. "Whats yours?"
"Moonshadow," she said quietly.
"Pleasure to meet you," he winked. He looked around the room, "so where you sitting at?"
"With my brother and friends," she pointed over to the table where the mentioned were now arguing over what her alt mode should be.
"Come sit with me," Hot Rod smiled, pointing with a nod of his helm to an empty table. He began walking without looking to see if she would follow.
She looked over at the table she had been sitting at then looked over to where Hot Rod was now sitting. With another charming smile she moved towards him and sat down, taking a sip of her energon.
"So you don't have an alt mode yet?" Hot Rod asked after a few minutes, a confused frown on his face.
"I kinda do," she said with a small shrug.
"So what is it?" he asked eagerly. "How fast can you go?"
"I'm not sure how fast I can go," she said slowly.
"So you havent tested it out yet?" Hot Rod pushed her on.
"It's not exactly that," she leant closer to him. "I'm not sure how I got it, I woke up with it. But I can change into a tiger."
"A tiger?" Hot Rod asked, his optics dulled for a moment while he looked it up. "An organic cat like creature?" She gave a nod. "Thats pretty cool. You could totally sneak in and out of places easily."
"It has its good points," Moonshadow agreed. "I haven't decided on my other alt mode yet."
"Triple changer huh," Hot Rod looked impressed. "Well, when you are looking for your alt mode, let me know and I'll help you out."
"Kyl- er, Moonshadow," Sideswipe appeared in the seat beside her. "Long time no see Rod."
"Sides," Hot Rod nodded. "Been a while. I see you and your brother have been reunited again."
"Sunny and I are never far away from each other," Sideswipe grinned. "Moon, Megs is looking for you."
"Okay," she finished the rest of her drink. "Thanks for the chat Hot Rod. I'll catch up with you soon."
Hot Rod stood up quickly and took her servo gently in his, helping her up from her seat. "It was a pleasure," he raised her servo to his lips and gave a soft kiss. "Until next time."
"Lets go," Sideswipe gave Hot Rod a death glare as he gently took her servo in his own and led her to the door where Jazz was waiting for her.
"Wasn't so bad now was it?" Jazz grinned at her.
"It was fun," Moonshadow agreed with a smile, feeling a little more confident then she had earlier.
