Drew/Octavian

"Remember! Once those doors open up, everything on sale!" my boss remembered us. I rolled my eyes and sighed, hoping that would make the next hour pass faster.

"What do you think we find this time?" my coworker Sara started to make conversation with me. I shrugged.

"Most probably, we find some daddy's girl with their credit cards..." I suggested.

"You don't like those kind of girl, uh?" she continued, raising an eyebrow. I raised an eyebrow back at her.

"No, I don't. Who does?" I asked her. She nodded, as agreement.

"Stella!" I heard my boss calling me. I get up from my seat and walked there. Once I was in the office, he turned to me "There you are! I need you to handle the register today" I smiled to myself and nodded.

"No problem" I replied, turning around and heading back to the front of the store. Almost slapped against the glass door were two girls, they probably look like they were 16-17 years old. You know, the kind of girls who skipped school for a clothes sale. I rolled my eyes at the chatting girls and placed myself behind the counter and pulled out my notes from my last AP Chemistry class and started to study.

An hour later, my notes were pulled away and the doors were seconds away to being open. I quickly tied up my brownish hair away from my face and watch my coworkers getting ready. Some of them had panicked faces. I smirked, because I was reacting the exact same way on my first sale:

I was on the job for a week and the boss just announced the sale of the month. I was super excited, but everyone else was looking like their seen a ghost. I frowned at their looks, but shrugged it off.

When the doors opened, a crowd rushed inside, girls pushing each other to get first to the clothes... It was chaotic! My coworkers were trying to avoid them, but, from time to time, they received a nudge or a kick or a scratch... One of them was slapped once, because a girl thought he was hitting on her, when he actually tripped and stumbled against her... The girl started to scream like crazy, while my partner was apologizing so deep, but she wouldn't listen...

I myself received scratches and a few kicks in the ankle. It made me promised I'd never work during a sale again...

As you can see, that promise was broken, not because I enjoyed my job, but because college is expensive and I need the money to pay for everything.

"Everyone's ready?" my boss asked us. Mostly nodded, but I could help to continue smirk.

"We're ready, boss!" I replied to him, getting glares from the rest.

"That's the spirit!" he congratulated me, walking to open the doors. The second he moved out of the way, the crowd of girls walked in- well, more like they ran in. Soon, the screams started to fill the enviroment, making the background music just a faint whisper.

"Take your hands off it! It's mine!" a girl screamed at other, holding a yellow sweater in her hands.

"I got here first! Let go of her!" her adversary yelled back at her, pulling the sweater to her side.

"You're fat for that skirt!" another shout came from the other side of the room, from a girl trying to rip off another one a leather skirt.

"And you're too biatch for it!" Wow, were did the filter was left?! This girls know many insults... More than me when I was their age!

"Thank you for buying here!" I thanked the last costumer on the other side of the counter. The girl smiled at me and left with her 12 bags. In my experience, during this sales, the media of bags per costumer is 15 bags. I kid you not. One year, I saw a girl coming with three boys behind her and leaving with 12 bags each boy and she was carrying 6 more bags.

"Diva walking at 3" Sara whispered in my ear, while she bagged the clothes of one costumer. I glanced at my side and I saw a girl walking inside the store. She had asian features, with black long hair and brown eyes. Her outfit was short jeans and an orange T-shirt and sneakers. She also had jewelry and, in the perfect amount of it, making that simple outfit stand in the crowd.

Behind her, with a scowl in the face and dragging the feet was a boy a couple of years older than her. He had blonde hair, blue eyes and paler skin than the girl he was following. He was dressed in simple cargo pants and a purple T-shirt. But there was something off about him.

"Shopping?! Really? That's your big torture?!" the guy snapped at the girl, who ignored him, walking to the rack "I rather get stomped over by Hannibal than waiting for you here!" he stated, turning around and leaving the store. Only then, the girl turned to see him and crossed her arms.

"Stop" she ordered him. And, surprisingly, he stopped, though he looked like he didn't want to "We made a deal and it's my turn to inflict your punishment, so you know what to do, before I make you" she warned him.

"You're just looking for an excuse" he accused her, narrowing his eyes at her. She raised an eyebrow and ignored him. Instead, she focused on the clothes and the girls who were fighting against each other. I focused on my clients and their payments.

The sale was about to finish. We probably had two hours left and the store was still filled with people. We had to separate some girls, who actually got into cat fights because of a piece of clothe. Honestly, I thought it was really pathetic the way the girls were behaving, but I can't say my opinion. At least not outloud...

Soon, the costumers were leaving the store. The asian girl with the blonde guy were the last ones on the store half hour before we close. The guy showed his boredom without any restriction, huffing and groaning openly.

"Quit complaining!" the girl shouted at him from the dressing room. He rolled his eyes.

"The store is about to close in half hour!" our boss reminded us, like saying 'Get that girl out of the dressing room, because we'll forget about her and we'll lock her in'.

"You should let her lock in. She won't notice the difference" the guy's voice startled me. He was leaning against the counter, looking around the store.

"I'm sorry your girlfriend dragged you here" I smiled sympathetically at him, but he snorted and chuckled.

"She's not my girlfriend. I don't even like her" he explained, not ashamed.

"Oh" that was my awkward reply, but then I frowned "If you don't like her, why are you here?" I questioned him, curious.

"Well, let's say I screw up a lot and, the only way to get my redemption was to suffer different kinds of torture..." he groaned, remembering "So far, I thought the conference about architecture was lame and tedious, but I guess I was wrong..." he rubbed his nose's bridge.

"But... Why are you doing all this?" I asked, confused. He stared at me like if I was dumb.

"I just told you, I'm getting-"

"Yes, you're getting redemption, I heard you..." I cut him, making him exasperated "But it's not worth the suffering-"

"There's a, um, a girl" This time, he interrupted me. I rolled my eyes, understanding the whole story now.

"You want her friends to like you or you want her to like you after seen that you redeem yourself?" I noticed.

"The second one" he acknowledged. I nodded, satisfied. Just in that moment, the asian girl came out of the dressing room, frowning.

"Everything is OK?" Sara wondered, approaching her. The girl shook her head, making the guy take long steps to her.

"Don't even think about it" he warned the girl, making gestures to Sara to leave. The girl raised an eyebrow and stared at him.

"And why I shouldn't?" she replied, a bit conceded.

"The deal was to make me suffer" he reminded her "Not to make the store's staff suffer" he emphasized.

"You're right" the girl recognized, smirking "But, what do I gain in all this?" The guy simply glared at her.

"Listen to me, Tanaka, and listen well" he started, totally serious "You can make me- no, you can force me to come shopping with you, ransack the store completely with daddy's credit card and make me carry all the stuff. But I refused-"

"You're boring me" the girl fake yawned, interrupting him "Hey! You!" she called Sara "I want that skirt in size two in every color available, now" she ordered. I saw Sara straightening up and rushing into the deposit to fulfill the request.

"Tanaka!" the guy told her, crossing his arms. She rolled her eyes before facing him.

"Listen to me, I don't care whatever game you're playing to get her, but let me warn you. It won't work. So, get down from whatever cloud Mom put you in it and face reality, because she'll never gonna date you!" she finished and went back to the dressing room, leaving the guy totally hopeless.

"Don't listen to her" I don't know why, but I felt the need to defend him. I mean, everyone makes mistakes... How bad can it be?

"And, yet, she's right" he turned to me, serious "I can climb the Everest and even yet, she won't set her eyes on me"

"Not with that attitude, she won't" I muttered to myself. Sadly, he heard me "What I mean is... if you keep that pessimistic attitude, she'll only see all the bad things you think you are"

"But, what if the bad things I think I am are the things I truly am?" His question was a riddle.

"I'm not the Riddle" I broke the tension with a joke, making him chuckle.

"I'm done!" we heard from the girl, making us sigh in relief. Sara placed all the stuff she got on the counter and I started to make the total.

"That would be... $567,99" I announced. The girl smiled, handing me her credit card, while the guy hung his mouth open. Sara and I placed the clothes on bags and handed them to the girl.

"Carry them" she looked at the guy, who took the bags in his hands and left the store, gritting his teeth and mumbling something about how he'll never take anyone shopping ever again.

"I think you made him suffer enough" I pointed out. She shrugged.

"But the day's not over yet" she winked at me, before leaving the store.

"That girl bought half the store by herself!" my boss celebrated "Dinner's on me!" Let's just say no one argued with that order.

Hello! This was a request (can't remember from who, I'm really sorry) and I decided to hand it over before leaving. Like I said, it was most likely I didn't make them date, and I was looking forward on making Drew using her charmspeaking and fighting with Octavian... You tell me what you think!

Please, don't forget on comment on the couples, like I asked you on the last chapter!

Also, I'd like to add I'd been writing like a maniac and I wasn't able to finish the Sunday's chapters that are missing... I'll post them on Sunday 8th, along with the correspondent chapter and the Women's Day special chapter... Is that OK with you all?
