My Hero Academia
All Might
Seeing the tears in her eyes as he reverted fully back to his emaciated state brought a sense of hurt that outweighed the pain that ached his body.
They were well hidden from prying eyes, behind Cementoss's erected cement wall. Cementoss had lifted young Izuku to take him to the infirmary, leaving the exhausted hero with their fellow hero Miko.
"Kago-" All Might spewed blood in surprise as Miko leaped at him, locking him in a tight hug.
He could feel her trembling against him, or was it him?
Then his legs gave out underneath him, sending them both sprawling to the ground as she refused to release him. A last minute shifting of her feet had him sprawling atop her, letting her own body take the brunt of the fall.
"Ah! Kagome-chan, are you okay?" He frantically tried to lift himself from her, only to be too weak to lift himself, his arms violently shaking from either side of him.
"Toshi-kun...you idiot," Kagome whispered, finally lifting her head to stare up at him.
"I, what?"
Through the tears, she gave a wide smile.
"It's fine now...because I'm here," she whispered, letting her powers flow from her and envelope herself and All Might.
"That's...my...line," Toshinori struggled to speak as the warm waves of healing comfort filled his senses, lulling him to sleep. He believed her words fully.
Once he was sufficiently asleep, Kagome maneuvered his skinny but long frame to lie on his back, keeping her hands on his body as she continued her healing.
She wouldn't be able to heal him completely considering how much his body had already gone through. Too many surgeries and the overall damage the wound and multiply treatments had done to his body, there were some things even she couldn't fix.
That thought alone threatened to send her into a fit of tears once more.
'If I hadn't been gone all this time…' she chided, shaking her head. But Kagome knew with every choice, she would be leaving others to suffer.
With a sigh Kagome sat back onto her legs, knowing she had done all she could at this moment.
His quiet snores was comforting to listen to, peaceful in contrast to explosions and screams that still filled the air as the remaining villains were subdued by the fellow teachers/heroes.
Kagome took her time catching up with Recovery Girl as they watched over the two lying in the school infirmary. Aizawa and Thirteen had been transferred out to a higher level of care quickly, so Kagome hadn't been able to assist them prior to their leave.
"Mah mah, Kagome-chan, you've grown so much since I've last seen you," Recovery Girl smiled, passing said woman a cup of tea, "You've returned at a good time."
"Ehe," Kagome scratched her cheek with a sheepish smile, "I wish I had been here sooner quite honestly but…"
Recovery Girl nodded understandingly, the burden of being a Hero, especially an Elite Pro was that you were always needed and had responsibilities everywhere. It was not easy finding time in between for personal wants.
"Well I don't know if you've heard, but that boy over there-" Recovery Girl gestured toward the sleeping Izuku as she began explaining his predicament. His inability to fully utilize All Might's gift without severely injuring himself. And her limits in assisting him since his young body had yet to develop the stamina to fully benefit from her abilities. In which case, Kagome's own Healing style would be more fitting to heal the young boy without draining him.
Kagome listened quietly, her eyes following towards the two beds by the window.
That boy was incredibly lucky to have been chosen for such a gift. And at the same time, he must've shown tremendous potential if he was able to convince All Might. And from what she had seen just as she arrived, the boy had risked his own life to save that of his mentor's without a second thought.
She felt thanks towards the young boy and would do all she could to help him. She owed him for saving Toshi's life.
A calm silence filled the ward, as the two Healers watched over the Hero and his successor.
Recovery Girl watched as Kagome stood from her seat and quietly made her way towards the slumbering blonde. Miko's red hakama fluttered with each step, like the finest silk sheets in the wind.
Kagome gently sat herself at the Toshinori's cheek.
And like a gently sunrise, Toshinori's eyes fluttered open. His own cerulean eyes matching to her azure blues.
"Welcome back, Hero," Kagome whispered, her hand resting in the hollow of his cheek.
A relieved sigh escaped him, his eyes closing for a second before further pressing his cheek into her palm.
Giggling, Kagome leaned down to place a soft kiss on the corner of his lips, effectively startling the injured Hero.
"Ah!" Toshinori gasped, waking Izuku in the process, "Kagome-chan-ack!"
The great Hero winced as the Miko flicked his forehead.
"Don't think I've forgiven you about keeping this from me," She scorned, eyes gentle as she stared down at him.
Feeling embarrassed and scorned, Toshinori blushed as red as the blood that leaked from his nose.
"And you better have kept the apartment clean."
All Might blanched as he quickly pulled the covers over his head.
"Toshi-kun!"
