Chapter 37: The Blockade

Alright guys, it's time. There's gonna be at least 10 chapters of this war. I'm planning for this to be a long arc. It HAS to be, it's the final battle between Good and Evil (In this story).

So now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.

(Space-The Archangel-Titan Class Capital Ship)

Naminé stared out of the window, watching the other starships fly by as the fleet flew towards The World That Never Was.

"A beautiful sight, isn't it?" Roxas asked as he stepped next to her.

"Yeah," Naminé agreed. "Though it would be better if they weren't all heading for war."

"You're right about that," Roxas said to her. "But we can't do anything about that now. All we can do now is hope everything turns out alright."

Naminé nodded in agreement and asked, "Do you think that those Dark Lord guys might try something?"

"If they do, it will most likely be in our favor," Examon said as he approached the two.

"What do you mean?" Roxas asked.

"As we had said before, The World That Never Was is a fake world, an illusion to hide the presence of Dark Hollow," Examon explained. "If the Dark Lords do act during the battle, then it would be in our favor as they want to get rid of the Seekers so they can restore their own world."

"That kind of makes sense," Roxas muttered.

"Lord Examon, can you come here for a moment?" UlforceVeedramon asked. The Dawn Knight left the two blonds as he went to see what his second in command wanted.

"So...you really want to go out there and fight?" Roxas asked.

"Yes, I want to help all of you however I can," Naminé told him. "King Lighteron said that my talents with magic were really impressive."

"Just...please be careful," Roxas asked. "I don't want you to get seriously hurt."

"Don't worry, this suit's supposed to protect me from most attacks," Naminé told him, gesturing to the combat suit that Lighteron had given her. It was a skintight jumpsuit that had plates of armor on her shoulders, forearms, chest, and legs.

"It looks heavy, how are you able to stand with that?" Roxas asked.

"Omnimon said that it's actually made out of a metal that's light to hold, but very durable," Naminé told him. Roxas thumped his knuckle against the shoulder armor and whistled as he felt the toughness of the metal.

"That's some good stuff," Roxas said.

"Attention, we will begin the warp jump to The World That Never Was. Please stay within the safety areas to prevent any accidents," A voice called out over the intercom.

"Better head back," Roxas told Naminé, "we wouldn't want to be out of this before it even begins." The blond girl nodded and followed Roxas as he lead her towards one of the designated safe areas.

(The Void Hunter)

"Can't this thing go any faster?!" Darkdramon roared. "We won't get there in time at this rate!"

"My Lord, you must calm down!" a Sealsdramon said as he tried to calm the Dark Lord. "The ship is going as fast as it can! Pushing any more power into it could cause the engine to blow, then we'll never get back!"

"But we're behind schedule!" Darkdramon yelled. "The Emperor gave us a specific time to be back, and I don't even want to know what would happen if we were late!"

"My Lord...it's five seconds," the Sealsdramon deadpanned.

"Do you not understand?!" Darkdramon cried as he grabbed the poor being by the shoulders and began to shake him madly. "This mission's success will result in The Emperor's return and the revival of our world!"

"I'm...sure...that...we'll...be...there...on...time!" the Sealsdramon replied shakily.

"Oh dear, it looks like we have another one to join us in the crazy bin, wouldn't you agree Fenrakk?" Vezon asked the giant spider. The creature blinked and Vezon replied, "Yes, I completely agree!"

"My Lord, I believe that you need to go and lay down for a while," the Sealsdramon said as he carefully lead the Dark Lord to the ships sleeping quarters.

"Yes, this assignment has been very stressful as of late," Darkdramon admitted. He then looked over at Vezon as he had a staring contest with a sleeping Fenrakk.

'And there's the reason why!'

(The Archangel)

The ships were flying through the warp space. On the bridge, Examon stared out of the window as space was stretched around the ships, the multicolored view was dancing around them during the jump, making the view beautiful.

"The calm before the storm."

Examon turned around to see Alphamon standing behind him.

"Yes, it's only a matter of time before you're all flying down to the world in drop ships, while I'll be up here directing the fleet battles," Examon agreed.

"How do you think it will go?" Alphamon asked.

"Fairly well, they don't have the advanced weaponry that we possess, but it wouldn't do well for me to get overconfident about this, battles never go according to plan," Examon informed his fellow Dawn Knight.

"He's right," Lighteron said as he approached the two, "a battle can go either way. You have to take secret weapons and the like into account."

"Nonetheless, I have complete faith in you achieving victory," Lighteron said as he clasped a hand on Examon's shoulder.

Right as Examon was about to say something, UlforceVeedramon ran up to him. "My Lord! We're about to exit the warp!"

"Get everyone to their stations!" Examon ordered. "You two head for the dropships, we have a battle to win."

Both Alphamon and Lighteron nodded and raced for the hangers, and Examon went over to the bridge and placed his hand on the control panel. He closed his eyes and pulled out his lance before muttering a silent prayer. When he opened his eyes, he saw the sight he had been expecting...

The blockade of Nobody and Heartless ships.

(Dark City)

Hearing soft booms in the air, Sephiroth looked up and saw that there was a large fleet appearing in the air. They were new ships among the ring of Nobody and Heartless ships that were occupying the skyline for the past week.

"It's time," Sephiroth said to the figure next to him. The figure nodded before he stood up, the sound of armor clanking together eliminating the quiet followed his movements. He hefted up a large object before carrying it into the Corridor with him. Sephiroth silently followed him.

Before he entered the portal, he looked up into the sky and smirked.

"As expected, you followed me here without knowing it," Sephiroth said as he entered the portal. When Sephiroth exited the Corridor, he saw that many beings were rushing to their assigned stations. The Emperor was speaking with Ravemon before the Dark Lord nodded and vanished in his own Corridor of Darkness.

"Ah Sephiroth, I trust that you're ready for the battle that is to come?" The Emperor asked.

"The real question is, will your forces be ready?" Sephiroth asked. "The Seekers have put up a wall around the city in order to keep the Guardians out. Not to mention that they have the entirety of their army here."

"Quality over quantity my student," The Emperor told him. "While others would rather use a large army to intimidate their enemies into surrendering, we would rather have strong soldiers that can actually pose a threat to our enemies."

"Besides, I know all about the White Zetsu," he continued. "They are weak, their only skill is becoming a perfect clone of someone if they get their DNA. But they are so easily killed, especially since they're practically made of flammable material."

"My Lord, Ravemon reports that he'll be back in 30 minutes," Diaboromon told him. "Darkdramon said that he'll be here in 25."

"Excellent! Everything's going to schedule," The Emperor grinned. "Alright everyone, it's almost showtime!"

(Space-The Archangel)

"All fighters have been launched!"

"Shields at full power!"

"Turbo lasers are charged and ready!"

"Missiles loaded!"

"Enemy ships incoming!"

"Large Nobody ship slowly turning towards us. Looks like it has a big cannon."

"Is that a pirate ship!? And are those GHOSTS!?"

The bridge was in chaos as new reports were coming in. Despite the chaotic noise however, Examon was able to understand everything. Countless years of space warfare has granted him with the skill to understand everything that was being said during moments like this.

War...was a chaotic thing. There was no order to it, nor was there any art. It was merely a clash of different powers as they struggled over something, whether it be land, items, morals, or even revenge. The only kind of violence that had any sort of beauty to it would be swordsmanship, as it would be two swordsmen engaged in a beautiful dance of blades. Albeit it was a deadly dance, but a dance nonetheless.

"Attention squad leaders," Examon began as he began to speak into the communicator, "perform to the best of your abilities. We must clear a path for the drop ships so they can get to the world below. Failure is not an option!"

"UNDERSTOOD!" Came the reply from the communicator as all of the squad leaders replied to the Dawn Knight.

"Ulforce, Man the bridge and relay any important information to me," Examon ordered as he grabbed his lance and walked out to the door.

"Sir?! Where are you going?!" UlforceVeedramon asked.

Examon turned his head to glance at him and said, "To do some target practice."

Examon walked through the ship until he stopped before a small lift. He put on a small helmet and entered the lift. The Dawn Knight was then sent upwards to the outside of the ship.

A small opening appeared on the hull of the ship, right before the bridge. Examon appeared from that opening andlooked at the chaos around him. He picked up his lance, Ambrosius, and aimed it at a Nobody Cruiser.

"Avalon's Gate!" Examon shouted as he fired several energy blasts into the Nobody ship. The ship exploded violently before Examon turned his attention to the rest of the enemy ships.

"This will be the day when everyone remembers the might of the Shining Kingdom!" Examon declared as he blew up a group of Mini-Cruisers.

(Space-The Battle)

Chaos.

That is the appropriate term to describe what was happening. Ships were flying through the endless void, firing energy blasts and missiles at their enemies, and large ships were trying to take each other out.

"I've got boogies on my tail! Someone take 'em out!" A pilot cried over the communicator as he swerved left and right to avoid the fire from the Knight Heads that here chasing him.

Suddenly, the Knight Heads exploded and another Assault Fighter flew behind him.

"You're all clear Angemon!" A female voice told him.

"Thanks! Let's regroup with the squad leader!" Angemon suggested. The two flew through the battlefield and took out several Nobodies and Heartless along the way. They eventually met up with a small group of fighters that were harassing a Pirate Ship.

"Someone take out those cannons!" A rough voice yelled.

"We can't with all of these Ghosts and Ghouls! They just keep coming!" Another voice shouted.

"Missiles away!" Angemon shouted as he fired a barrage of energy missiles. They impacted against the front cannons and blew them apart. The leftover missiles took out the swarm of Ghosts and Ghouls.

"Take this thing out now!" Angemon shouted as he avoided some cannon fire from another ship.

"Clear a path," A deep voice demanded. A faint shrieking noise could be heard, and all the pilots eyes widened.

"Everyone MOVE!" The squad leader shouted. Nobody wasted any more time as a blurred shape flew in their direction as the shrieking noise got louder. The shape, most likely a ship, zoomed towards the Pirate Ship, and made a type of popping noise as a small ball of light slipped through the cracks on the mask on the bow of the ship. The giant Heartless exploded in a bright violet light.

After the ships regained their balance from the force of the explosion, the pilots looked around to see several explosions similar to the one before happening at certain points of the battlefield. Specifically on the larger ships.

"Why didn't anybody say that those guys were out here?" Angemon asked.

"Quit your whining! We've got a job to do!" the squad leader ordered. Everyone then powered up their engines and flew off into different areas of the battlefield.

(The Archangel)

Examon was destroying multiple enemies with his energy blasts. He quickly stopped blasting the enemies and covered himself with his large wings, protecting himself from enemy fire.

"Lord Examon, we've cleared a path for the transports!" UlforceVeedramon's voice called out from the communicator.

"Understood," Examon replied before switching to a different channel. "King Lighteron, your path is clear!"

Down in the hangers, Lighteron acknowledged the news and switched the channel so he could talk to the transport pilots.

"Our path is clear, launch all ships!" Lighteron ordered.

"UNDERSTOOD!" Came the reply of hundreds of transport pilots. Lighteron put down the communicator and went to take his seat in the transport.

The roar of countless engines being powered up filled the hanger. The noise was so loud that the engineers had to cover their ears. The first wave of ships flew out into space as they made a beeline for The World That Never Was. The next group began to follow, and it went like this until the whole hanger was empty of ships.

"This will be a bumpy ride," Lighteron told the Keyblade Wielders. "But I have faith that we'll make it."

"So why are the rest of the Dawn Knights in a different ship?" Kairi asked.

"They're going to lead the assault and clear the landing zone," Lighteron explained. "They'll be done before we even get there."

"I knew that they were tough, but I didn't think that they were THAT tough," Ventus said in surprise.

"They trained very hard to become the Dawn Knights, they're unbeatable when they are working together," Lighteron told him. He then looked up and held a nostalgic look on his face.

(Dawn Knights Transport)

Inside the ship, the five warriors were mentally preparing themselves for the upcoming battle. They knew how important their mission was, they had to clear the landing area of enemies. That way they could safely unload all of the transports that were filled with warriors and war machines.

"We're coming up on the drop zone," the pilot called back. "ETA is 2 minutes."

"This is it," Alphamon began. "We all know what we have to do, but that does not mean it will be easy."

"The area will be crawling with Heartless, Nobodies, and White Zetsu," Gallantmon continued. "Attack them without any hesitation, and use the terrain to your advantage if you can."

"Sounds simple enough," Aegisdramon said as he cracked his neck.

"Only because you've got those giant cannons," Magnamon snorted.

"1 minute!"

"Get ready," Omnimon told them. "This battle will be the deciding point here. Will we succeed and provide our allies a safe landing? Or will we fail and be forced to rely on the others to do what we cannot?"

"We WILL prevail," Gallantmon declared. "We are the Dawn Knights. We are the ones who will pave the path to peace for all worlds."

(Battle Music-Dragon Force-Fairy Tail)

The hatch opened and the Dawn Knights could see the Dark City as it passed under them.

"What say we make a competition out of this?" Magnamon suggested. "Most kills wins?"

"I'll take you up on that," Aegisdramon chuckled. The others agreed as well.

"This is it!" Alphamon shouted. They could see a swarm of enemies below them in a large plaza like area. It was completely filled with the aforementioned foes.

"This looks fun," Aegisdramon grinned.

"Just try not to die," Gallantmon taunted.

"And you try not to go Megidramon on us," Aegisdramon retorted.

"GO!" Alphamon shouted as he jumped out of the ship. The rest of the Dawn Knights followed suit.

"Grani! To me!" Gallantmon shouted as he thrust his hand forward. A portal appeared and a red glider with a head that looked like a Pteradon flew out. Gallantmon landed on the glider and summoned his lance and shield.

"Dragon Driver!" Gallantmon and Grani shouted as they were engulfed in a bright red aura and plowed through the enemies.

"Supreme Cannon!" Omnimon shouted as he fired his cannon from his right head. The large energy cannon not only took out many enemies below, but it also slowed his descent with the recoil. He landed on the ground and began to take out his enemies with his sword.

Magnamon landed on a Defender, crushing it before he turned to block a swipe from a Luna Bandit. He then ripped the swords away fro the Heartless before impaling it with its own weapon. Magnamon then raced through the horde, killing multiple enemies along the way.

He then came up on a large enemy that looked like multiple Zetsu's fused together. The creature had large mouths that resembled a Venus Flytrap. The creature charged at Magnamon, but he just stood there and took a stance.

"Magna Punch!" Magnamon drove his fist into the enemy, stunning it with his power before he unleashed a vicious chain of combos on the monster. He then knocked it up into the air before he charged his right hand with his energy, and drove an open palm right into the creature as soon as it came back down. The giant Zetsu then flew back into the crowd of enemies before it swelled up and exploded, the teeth of it large mouthes impaling multiple enemies.

"Tera Hydro Breath!" Aegisdramon shouted as he landed on a building and breathed down a destructive flame from his mouth, burning all that it touched. He then began to fire many energy blasts into the horde from the giant cannons on his back.

"No need to use that technique yet," he said to himself as he continued to blast away. "That's for the big ones."

Alphamon landed heavily in the middle of the horde, throwing back some of them due to the shockwave of his landing. He immediately summoned two swored of light and began to cut down whatever stood in his way. A Stalwart Blade attempted to slash the Dawn Knight, but Alphamon stood strong and blocked the Heartless' blades before decapacitating the being of darkness.

Eventually, Omnimon met up with Gallantmon and the two stood back to back as they were surrounded. Gallantmon had dismissed Grani when he ran out of energy, especially after he used the Yuugoth Blaster.

"Well, this is another fine predicament we've gotten ourselves into," Omnimon complained.

"Relax," Gallantmon told his partner, "we've come out of worse before. Omnimon, let's do our Limit Break."

"That sounds like a wonderful idea," the larger Knight agreed. "Transcendant Sword!"

"Royal Saber!"

The two crossed their weapons before they leapt into action. Both spun in a circle, sending their enemies flying before Omnimon hopped over Gallantmon and send out a wave of energy from his sword and took out the enemies in front of them. Gallantmon flung his shield out into the crowd and it sliced through the ones that weren't too short. Omnimon then grabbed Gallantmon's free hand and flung him around while the Dawn Knight sliced through the crowd with his extended lance. The two continued this cycle for a few more seconds before the finisher came.

As Omnimon was swinging around Gallantmon again, he threw him into the air as they were done with that combo. Gallantmon's shield came flying towards the airborne Knight and his caught it before aiming it down towards Omnimon. The grounded Dawn Knight then whipped out his cannon and aimed it upwards. He fired off a large beam of energy and Gallantmon's shield not only blocked the shot, but splintered it into hundreds of smaller beams that bombarded everything aorund them.

"Shining Bombardment!" The two shouted in unison. Gallantmon landed on the ground and saw how they cleared a large amount of the horde.

"We still got it," Omnimon smirked.

Magnamon was fighting off all the enemies that were trying to take him down. He ripped the sword from an Armored Knight before he used it to take down a Wyvern. He grabbed the arm of a Morning Star and used the Heartless like a flail, taking down multiple enemies at once. The small Knight was thrown back by the swing of a Berserker's claymore, and used that momentum to drive his elbow into a Zetsu, killing it instantly.

"Magna Blast!" Magnamon hovered in the air for a moment before his armor opened up and he fired a barrage of missiles, devastating his opponents. When the smoke cleared, Magnamon saw that he had taken out a large amount of the opposition.

Alphamon had just finished off a Guard Armor when he heard the sound of machine guns being fired. He looked up and saw that the transports had arrived and were finishing off the rest of the enemies. Unfortunately, several groups managed to escape from the carnage.

The transports landed and began to unload all of the troops and war machines. Alphamon blinked when he saw a lion, tall skeleton, and a group of pirates led by a drunken one pass by him.

"Alphamon, how was the fight?" Lighteron asked as he approached the Dawn Knight.

"Very good, I think that we thinned their forces by a very good amount," Alphamon answered. "However, I saw a large wall as we were falling from the ship. It looks like a ring of defense has been put up."

"I'm sure that Omnimon can break it with his cannon," Lighteron told him. "But if he can't, then I'll just have to take care of it."

(Dark City)

"This is an insult," The Emperor said as he glared at the wall. He and the Dark Lords, except for Darkdramon and Ravemon, were on the inside of the wall with the Seekers of Darkness and their forces.

Diaboromon walked up to the wall and inspected it. "It may be an imitation," he began, "but it is not made of the same material that ours was."

"So it's weaker?" GigaSeadramon asked.

"Yes," the virus answered. "Though it can stand up to a good amount of punishment, but it will break easily, especially if Lighteron uses 'it'."

The Dark Lord of the Earth shuddered. "Don't remind me please," he pleaded. "He shattered both my arms with that."

"I wonder how far he'd send a piece of the wall," Cherubimon wondered. "5,000 Munny says that he'll make one hit the bottom of the castle."

"5,000 says that he'll send one right through a tower and knock it down in the process," GigaSeadramon told him.

"6,000 tells me that a piece will go through that row of buildings," the Dark Lord of the Earth declared as he pointed towards a group of buildings.

"4,000 that he missed the castle completely," Diaboromon argued.

"20,000 says that he'll send two pieces right through a horde of enemies before it hits the ground, causing it to fly into the center structure of the castle, right through the Nobody sigil," The Emperor informed them.

"You sure that you want to make a bet like that?" Cherubimon asked.

"Positive," The Emperor said firmly.

"Alright, all bets are marked down," Diaboromon said. "May the best man win."

With that, the Dark Lords separated to go to their respective assignments. The Emperor summoned a large brown sword that looked like an oversized hammer. The body was long, thick, and appeared segmented. The guard was circular with a vertical bar going right through it. The part of the sword that would usually end in a point was replaced by a large crescent shaped block that was very thick.

"Marfedelom nkyorlic astahi shio," The Emperor declared as he slowly walked towards the castle.

Done! You guys surprised at the quick update? Well I have a good explanation for that.

1. I want to make it so that I reveal The Emperor on this story's birthday. I feel that it would be a good idea for a birthday event.

2. I have hit writer's block on Master of Jiongu.

Yeah the second reason feels pretty pathetic to me, but I have hit a stump on how to write a certain fight. I really have no idea how to do it.

Anyway, how was the Limit Break that I made up? I feel that it could have been better, but it was an idea that just came to me. If you guys want to send me some ideas for a Limit Break between two or three characters, you are more than welcome to. I may use it if I like it, so no promises.

Oh yes, The Emperor's new sword looks similar to Terra's Ends of the Earth. Just take away the keychain and the teeth of the Keyblade on both sides and imagine it being thicker.

Please Review! Ciao!
