The half Klingon took a deep breath as she kissed her beautiful daughter on the head. She knew her husbands silent glare and she couldn't quite meet his eyes. "Lanna" whispered Tom softly as he took her hand gently in his.
B'Elanna raised her head from their daughter and looked Tom in the eyes before saying "look after won't you?" Tom nodded but wasn't sure who is wife was referring to, their daughter or their dear friend, either way to, knew he would look after them both.
B'Elanna turned and without a backward glance had stepped on board the transport to Trebus leaving her family behind. Her son own in the care of Toms Parents while Tom had driven them to the transport station.
The transport was long and B'Elanna had wondered if the 37 hours to the deveron system would actually ever end. As she climbed off the transport she walked up to the beautiful woman waiting for her and embraced her sister in a hug and asking "how are you Sekey?"
Sekey smiled warmly and replied "I'm well, Cocohum is fussing too much" Choktays sister nodded resetting her hand on her well pregnant belly as she rolled her eyes about her over protective husband.
B'Elanna smiled "tom was bad" she admitted "though he was worse when we had Owen. We were on voyager when we had mirral so I think he felt strangely safer somehow"
Sekey laughed and walked towards to desert street as she said softly "it's all go at our house, my brother is sulking, what on Trebus happened?"
"I was hoping you could tell me?" Sighed B'Elanna "Kathryn won't talk about it, it's been six months"
"It was a strained time" sighed Sekey almost ashamed of her brother "Chakotay was angry" Seky didn't really think this made it better but she hoped that it helped.
B'Elanna sighed and nodded but offered no words, the two women walked in silence from them on, B'Elanna taking in her surroundings, pleased to have finally come to chakotays beloved home. As they arrived at Sekeys house Sekey made an apologetic remark about how untidy it was since her husband Cocohum had insisted on redecorating before the baby arrived. B'Elanna assured it would be fine and the two women stepped inside.
What greeted them as the entered the small wooden home was not what B'Elanna was expecting.
Chakotay and a younger man she knew from the photos to be Cochum were both topless and working hard trying to hang up a stiff woven tapestry which kept falling down. B'Elanna recognised it as the one Chokotay had hung in his quarters on voyager. Sekey announced there arrival by shutting the door loudly behind them.
"Sekey I thought you were never coming home" the younger man called as he looked down from her he stood up a small ladder "where have you be-" but his sentence cut off as he saw the half Klingon stood next to his wife, then he almost dropped the tapestry before saying quickly "you didnt say we had a visitor" then looked at Chakotay slightly added "from earth"
Chakotay spun round an he did actually drop the tapestry on his end before smiling a dimpled smile at his dear friend and exclaimed "B'Elanna what brings you here?" As he walked towards his friend he went to hug her but she simply placed a hand on his nicely toned bare chest. In her younger days B'Elanna has very much had a fancy for this man and his tanned skinned muscular chest, she thought it was better to hug him when he was fully dressed.
Chakotay seemed to understand and simply placed a hand on her shoulder before pulling away and waiting for her response. B'Elannas smile faltered slightly as she said softly "Kathryn"
Chakotays smile dropped straight away. He took a large intake of breath and picked up the tapestry he had been helping to put up without even saying another word and told Cocohum firmly "it needs to go higher on your side."
The younger man didn't move he just glanced towards his wife still holding the tapestry as he looked down for the ladders. "Chakotay please" B'Elanna was almost begging "she needs you, I've come all this way"
Silence filled the room, all eyes were on Chaokaty, realising nothing was going anywhere till he at least talked with his friend his shoulders sank and he hung his head before saying in a deep voice "ok, we can talk, but not here, give me a few minutes to freshen up"
"Ok" said B'Elanna softly looking at Sekey who was smiling. B'Elanna knew then chakotay was indeed going to listen to her.
An hour later B'Elanna was say in the sofa with Sekey as Cocohum came over and handed her a warm drink to try. As he sat in the chair oposite he smiled reassuringly at B'Elanna, he had now put a top on, lovely woven top that actually reminded B'Elanna of chakotay. Sekey aced a soft tanned hand in B'Elannas knee and assured her "he'll come round" when B'Elanna just glanced at her Sekey did add "it may take some time"
B'Elanna scowled before adding "Kathryn hasn't got time"
Both Sekey and Cocohum looked at B'Elanna with concern "is she ok?" Chakotays little sister asked softly.
B'Elanna met her dark brown eyes so like Chakotays and let the tears mount in her eyes before shaking her head softly and said deeply "no"
Chakotay stayed ridged to where he stood behind her, nobody had seen him, his heart was beating faster, moving closer to his sister and deer friend chakotay asked hurriedly "what's wrong with her"
B'Elannas head shot up and she met his fearful eyes with sadness, all she could do was shake her head and let the tears flow. Chakotay looked at her and fered the worst, he knew it was big if B'Elanna cried like that.
