Storybrooke

"Welcome back, dearie." Mr. Gold didn't have to turn around to know who was walking into his pawn shop. He could smell the feathers.

He turned around to face the angel.

"Castiel, isn't it?" Mr. Gold held up his hands and gestured towards him, a powerful purple energy of magic shot out.

Castiel held up his hand in an almost bored gesture and the energy wave faded before it made it to him. "Don't bother." He began looking around the room just as he did the first time he stepped… well, popped into this shop. "I've come to tell you that this primitive alpha male dominance you're trying to establish between the two of us is useless."

Mr. Gold chuckled, "Is it? And I thought we were just getting to the good stuff."

Castiel's brow creased, "I don't understand what you mean. Regardless, I am a celestial being from Heaven and you are a sorcerer from the Enchanted Forest. I am mystical and you are magical. We both are very powerful, but our power is different. Your kind of magic is… different here. I have never left Earth before, nor have I been anywhere with this kind of magic. I'm… learning."

"Are you saying that here, you're powerless?"

"Don't be ridiculous," Castiel replied. "Our powers cancel out when clashed together. No matter how powerful you think you are, it reduces to nothing whenever you use them against me. Angels and magic were not meant to mix."

Mr. Gold listened carefully to Castiel as he talked. First he was skeptic about this news. The angel could be lying to him in order to lure him into a false security.

"Castiel," Mr. Gold said as he brought his hand to his mouth and began to tap his chin. "Shield of God."

"I know you, Rumplestilskin," Castiel grew angry with him. "I know of your gift with names. If you know the name, you know the man."

"And apparently angels, too," Gold tilted his head and smiled menacingly at him. "You read me during our first meeting, it's only fair if I do the same now." He closed his eyes and thought. "Hmm, what an angel you seem to be. Tell me, are all angels as cavalier with their time on Earth as you've been? A rebel without a cause -"

Castiel's eyes narrowed at the imp. "My cause is admirable and of my own standings."

Gold chuckled. "You defied an absent father and your soldier siblings for a couple of humans?"

"You used to be human once," Castiel replied. "Before power consumed your soul and dark magic infected your veins."

"But isn't that what you want?" Gold asked as he began to pace behind his counter. "Power, control? You want to stop the big bad macho angels from ending the world as we know it. Who gives you that right? You could say you're stepping on God's toes –"

"What do you know of God?" Castiel shouted, pounding his hands on the counter top.

Gold stopped his pacing and also put his hands on the counter opposite of Castiel. "I know that you're looking for Him. And maybe I can help. Offer you my magic so you can find your precious father."

Castiel opened his mouth to protest, but then closed it. He had searched for God for months, hoping that Dean's amulet would act as a sensor alerting him when he was close, with no avail. After Dean and Sam returned from heaven (that last time), they told him of their conversation with Joshua, the angel who talks with God. He had informed them that God was aware of their predicament, but no longer wanted to intervene in the Apocalypse. God was on Earth, but the amulet would no longer help Castiel find him. Devastated by the revelation of God's apathy, Castiel had returned the amulet to Dean, who in turn threw the necklace into the trash.

"Nothing can help me find Him. Not even your dark magic," Castiel finally replied.

"How can you be sure? My magic was strong enough to curse an entire population to a world without magic. What makes you think it could fail in finding one simple god?"

Castiel thought for a moment, starting to truly consider what the sorcerer was saying. "What's your price?"

Enchanted Forest

Dean heard it first, but Emma was the first to rise from her seat. Someone had yelped and then there was a loud thump – as if someone had thrown someone else on the ground.

Emma grabbed her gun from her back pocket and ran over to where they had heard the sound. When they got within ear shot, Emma heard Mulan.

"Don't talk to her like that!"

Then she heard Mary Margaret, "She tried to kill me."

Emma and Dean were approaching the scene now, both of them more cautiously after hearing the work kill.

"I will deal with her," Mulan replied, but Emma was ready to defend her friend.

She raised her gun and pulled the trigger, a shot firing loudly into the night. Dean held his own gun in his hands, looking over the scene in front of them. The woman in the purple dress who had been with Mulan when they were captured was laying on the ground. Mary Margaret and Mulan were standing over her, a sword in Mulan's hand. Mulan had covered her ears to the gun shot; she obviously had never heard something fired with gunpowder before.

Mary Margaret's mouth had dropped as she began to look around nervously. "Emma, what are you doing?" she asked in a panicked tone.

"Protecting you," Emma replied, aiming the gun at Mulan as she began to walk closer. "Drop the weapon!"

Dean had noticed Mary Margaret's panic, dropping his own gun to his side and wondering what it was the woman was so scared of.

"Do you have any idea what you've just done?" Mary Margaret whispered loudly.

Just then, a loud growl rose from the quiet behind them.

Dean and Emma spun around towards the sound of the growl and rustling of branches. "Ogres?" they asked in unison.

The growl began to grow louder, and Dean felt himself instinctively reach out for Emma's arm.

"RUUUUN!" Mary Margaret yelled.

As if on cue, Mulan grabbed the woman in the dress's hand and pulled her off the ground as they ran in one direction while Dean, who had grabbed Emma's arm, began to run in the same direction as Mary Margaret.

"Split up!" Mary Margaret commanded, and Mulan grabbed purple dress girl to start running in a different direction while Emma and Dean stayed with Mary Margaret.

They ran quickly as the roars and rustling grew louder, and soon they could feel the ground shake from the ogre's footsteps.

That was when Emma tripped over a large tree root sticking out of the ground. Dean had turned around to help her up when the largest creature he had ever seen emerged from the trees.

Emma grabbed the gun she'd dropped when she fell and aimed it at the ogre, who swung his giant hand, knocking the gun to the ground. Dean tried to pull her towards the shelter of the trees. But then the creature roared so loud that it flung Emma back into Dean, who both lost their balance and fell to their backs. Dean flung his arm over Emma in a protective attempt to shield her from the monster's mighty growl.

"Fellas got some bad breath, huh?" Dean said loudly as the ogre continued to roar.

"Seriously?" Emma yelled, wondering how Dean was able to say something so ridiculous in the face of danger.

A loud whistle caused the ogre to quiet, allowing Dean and Emma to look up. The ogre was turning around, looking for the source of the noise.

"Back – away – from – my – daughter!" Mary Margaret yelled at the creator.

It began to stalk up on her, but she reached behind her and pulled out an arrow to secure to her bow. In an instance, she aimed the weapon, and released. The arrow went flying towards the ogre and impaled him – right in the eye.

The ogre fell to the ground; dead.

"Did you kill it?" Dean asked as he and Emma rose from the ground.

Mary Margaret pulled the arrow out of the ogre's face and returned it to her pouch. "Yep. You have to shoot them in the eye."

Emma, astounded by Mary Margaret's performance, tried to regain her breathing. "When was the last time you shot an arrow?"

"Twenty-eight years ago," she replied. "Guess it's like riding a bike."

Dean, who was also shook up by the ogre attack, steadied his breath. "Thank god."

"Yeah, but. How did you know you could hit that?" Emma asked, looking down at the dead beast.

"I didn't," Mary Margaret replied, rather matter-of-fact. She smiled at Emma and cocked her head. "Next time, listen to me. That kind of thing isn't gonna work here," she gestured towards Emma's gun.

Emma looked over at Dean, who only shrugged and put his own gun back in his pocket.

"We should get going."

The trio walked in silence as they finally met back up with Mulan and the woman who introduced herself as Aurora.

"As in Sleeping Beauty?" Dean asked.

Emma rose her eye brow, "How did you manage to watch so many Disney movies moving around so much?"

Dean shrugged, "Hotel rooms have cable. And the good kind of cable."

Emma rolled her eyes as Aurora gave a questionable look towards the pair.

Mulan constructed a torch and lit the end, leading the way as they began to make it through the thick trees. Dean stayed in the back of the line, which was getting farther from the front as Aurora's cloak kept getting caught on branches.

"Aurora, you've gotta keep up," Mulan yelled backwards.

"Sorry, but I'm not exactly dressed for the woods," she replied. "It's cold out here."

Mulan sighed, "Then maybe you should have listened to me and stayed back."

Dean helped unsnag her fabric from a twig. "I can help you carry your… blanket, if you want."

"Here," Emma began to pull off her jacket and handed it to Aurora.

Aurora cautiously took the piece of fabric. "But… I tried to kill your friend."

"Actually, she's my mom. And I have a feeling she can take care of herself." They began catching up with the rest of the group, Dean holding Aurora's train so it wouldn't hinder their speed any more. "And I get it," Emma continued. "You're not the only one who's been screwing up lately."

Emma moved forward and Aurora looked back to Dean, who smiled sympathetically as they kept moving. Aurora held up Emma's jacket and inspected it. "What kind of corset is this?" she whispered to Dean, who was too busy chuckling to reply.

"Up here!" Mulan announced.

They peered out towards the large valley and body of water that stood between them and a very large, destroyed castle.

"Is that it?" Dean asked, wondering how the castle must have looked before it was crumbled down to bits.

"Yeah," Mary Margaret replied. She turned to Emma and smiled sadly. "That's out home."

Oh. My. Goodness! It's been SOOOO long since I've been able to update this story. And I'm so sorry for keeping you all waiting! I've had like half of this story written for a couple of weeks now and at first I wasn't very inspired to keep going and then I really wanted to write but the last week or so has been so busy it's hindered me from any leisure time. *sigh* Anyway... I'm working on the next chapter right now, so *fingers crossed* it wont take so long for me to update. Thank you all who stick with me. You're all amazing! :)

"Narutoske: (Ch 35) Great chapter :-) I can't wait for next chapter of the enchanted Forest with Dean and Emma and Snow. Update soon. (Ch 36) Great chapter :-) I like the moment with Dean and Emma talking and the story telling you Dean's adventure. Update soon." Thank you! I'm sorry it's taken so long!

"Eric the Looney" Sam will have a big part in the next chapter! And as for Dean being better equipped compared to Emma and being more adjusted overall, I think it has to do with his experience. He's spent his whole life knowing about monsters and supernatural creatures living in the world - something that only a select few people on Earth are aware of. He's been to Heaven and Hell, the past and the future, and all over the United States hunting down supernatural creatures. Emma has had a fairly regular life up until the last day or so as far as the story is concerned. So I think it's justifiable that Dean is the more adjusted one between the two of them when it comes to magic and the Enchanted Forest. And I believe the next chapter will start including more Supernatural stuff, which I believe you mentioned before that you weren't extremely familiar with. So I'll try to give as much background and feasible information when introducing a character or story line.

"Dede42: Wake up to two new chapters, wow! I wish the Winchesters the best of luck in both Storybrooke and in the Enchanted Forest. Heh, I just visualized Gols shrinking Crowely and stuffing him into a jar. :)" Haha! Gold and Crowley would definitely butt heads big time... but I could see Crowley and Cora getting along somewhat well... in a backstabbing, but being fabulous kind of way!

"ocnarf" Well, from what I remember, Lucifer believes that God basically created him to be defiant because he needed someone to be the devil and to be the "ruler of hell". Like he mentions that if God created everything and knows everything, then he made him the way he was and he knew that one day he would defy God's words, which in turn caused his banishment from Heaven and got him locked up in Hell. And Lucifer created demons - or he turned humans into demons whenever they were sent to Hell. Since demons are supposed to be humans that have been so tortured and tormented that all their humanity was stripped from them. As far as where the magic from the Enchanted Forest came from - that's sort of up in the air, it's up for you to interpret. Do you think that Earth's God created the other realms and gave some of them magic and some no magic? Or did other gods or creatures create the magical realms and Earth's God is their own? It's all whatever you believe. And as of right now, Castiel and Crowley are not allies. Crowley has only just been introduced as far as where this story is in relation to the Supernatural canon.

"LoveIsMoreThanDesire: Great story, can't wait for more!" Thank you! :)

"hopelessromantic92: I love this story! Please update soon!" Yay! :) I'm so glad you like it!

"Guest: UPDATE AS SOON TELL THE STORY CONTINUES" I'm sorry I've taken so long! I promise I will keep up better and continue telling the story!
