Holding Tight, Letting Go

Note – This story is a little sad in some parts so you may need a tissue. It takes place the next morning after Dyson, Tamsin and Bo found Kenzi. Dyson is still under the doubt but its wearing off and Tamsin is a little OOC along with Kenzi. Bo is just worried about Kenzi at the moment and doesn't want to think about Trick told her. Also it will be from First person POV and 3rd Pov. Just to let ya know...

Chapter 32: Heartbreak

(Kenzi's Pov – Dal, Bar – 8:55 AM)

I still sat at the bar waiting on Dyson and Lauren to show. Trick had said that Lauren may not come but I didn't understand. I shook my head as I downed the rest of my drink. Trick had already told me I wasn't allowed any more because I was still feeding two hungry children. I was glad that our metabolism runs higher then humans or I would be screwed. Placing the shot glass away from me, Trick walked over with a coke. I smiled and took a small sip through the straw. I winced as the tasted mixed with the blood and alcohol but I could already feeling the effect of the liquor fading. I closed my eyes and tried to see how Nezi was doing. She had been rather quiet of late.

Nezi? Are you there? Kenzi waited bated breaths as she wondered if Nezi was alright.

There was a whimper. She's still here, Kenzi. Kenzi's eyes widen as she looked around only to finally see Dyson walk in. She wants the Dark King to rise. Her Mate.

"Kenzi?" Dyson said drawing me out of my inner monolog. "Are you ok?" He asked me as he stepped forward slowly.

I couldn't speak but nodded as I moved into his arms. I shivered from being there but it wasn't the love I use to feel. I mentally whimpered only to hear a dark chuckle in the back of my mind. I tried to push the uneasy feeling out of my mind but it just wouldn't go away. It seemed like eternity until Dyson pulled back and cupped my cheek. His bluish gray eyes were filled with worry. I knew he was trying to link through the small connection we had mentally. I smiled sadly as I shook my head.

"I'm sorry." I told him as I wrapped my arms around him. I didn't want him to think I hated him because he was my mate, but that was it.

Dyson was my and Nezi's mate. The other voice wasn't mated to him but the Dark King. I shivered once again until I heard Bo clear her voice and smelled sex in the air. Dyson did as well and tightened his grip on me. I shook my head as I turned to see that Bo and Rainer were standing there with a smile on their faces. I then noticed that Bo's eyes were still slightly blue. I blinked a few times and it seemed to go away.

"Who are you?" Dyson's growled at Rainer. "Why do you smell like Bo?" He sniffed a little.

"I'm her mate." Rainer said proudly but I knew that Dyson wouldn't like that.

This time I was holding my mate back as I locked eyes with Bo. She nodded as she stepped in front of him, looking at Dyson. His eyes just narrowed at her but I felt him relax slightly.

"He's only telling you the truth, Dyson." Bo told him as she cut her eyes towards Trick. "Did Trick ever tell you why he placed Rainer on that death train? Because he was my destiny and 'grandpa' didn't want me to fulfill it." Her eyes did flash this time as she glared at Trick.

"Of course he would!" Dyson roared revealing something I didn't know, but apparently he did. "You will bring the reign of the Dark King to Earth." His eyes flashed gold and stayed. "The Dark King then will collect his...mate..." Dyson's eyes widen as they snapped to me.

I didn't like the look in his eyes as he released my hands. I wanted to whimper in protest but I didn't. I bit my lip to hold it in but the tears started to well in my eyes as he backed away from me, Bo and Rainer. Dyson kept whispering 'No' over and over. When his eyes went to Trick, so did mine. I frowned as I saw Trick nod, as if confirming what Dyson thought. It was then I heard someone collapse. Spinning around I saw Dyson barely holding onto the bar, to hold himself up. I started forward but he held his hand out. I did whimper this time and I cringed at how pained it sounded.

"Dyson?" I asked, my voice not sounding like my own. "What are you thinking? What's going on?"

Bo was at my side, holding me up now. "Get your head out of your ass, Wolf Boy!" She yelled at him, walking forward a few steps and slapped him. "Your mate asked you a fucking question!"

"SHE ISN'T MY MATE!" Dyson roared as tears started to stream down his angry face as he crouched, eyes blazing with anger and hurt.

My eyes widen as I felt darkness starting to come closer around the edge of my vision and it was getting worse as I stared at Dyson. When another pair of male arms wrapped around me and I felt safe, I knew it was Rainer. I did collapse then only for him to take me into the back room as Bo dealt with Dyson. As the world started to close in around me, I felt part of me die. Nezi whimpered in pain just as I did.

Our mate disowned us.

"Just rest sister." Rainer spoke softly, his voice barely breaking through the darkness swallowing me. "Allow the dreamless sleep to take you, you need to rest." I felt his hand stroke my hair as I finally succumbed to the darkness, of my dreamless sleep.

(3rd Person Pov – Bar Area Out Front – 9:05 AM)

Bo stood with her hands clenched as she glared at Dyson who was now sitting, slumped, on a bar stool. She could feel her eyes flashing between her normal brown to her succubus blue. Trick hadn't said a word since Dyson yelled that Kenzi wasn't his mate. She couldn't believe what was going on but she needed an answer and she needed it now.

"What in the fuck is going on!?" She snarled as she glared between the two of them. "Why would you say that Dyson? Kenzi is the mother of your pups and your mate! Do you know what you just did?" Bo's eyes were now electric blue.

Trick cleared his throat. "Bo, if you will let us explain." He really wanted to fix this because he had created this mess. "In a way, Kenzi isn't Dyson's mate along longer."

"What!?" Bo growled at her 'Grandfather'. "How can you say that!?"

Dyson snarled this time as he stood. "Because she is the Queen of Darkness." The pain was visible in his eyes. "She is the King of Darkness' mate. He will stop at nothing to get to her. Our only hope right now is Lauren. She's back at the manor looking through some of the Dark History books. She believes there is something there."

"How is she?" Bo asked her heart slightly breaking.

"How do you..." Dyson was cut off when his cell phone started ringing. He frowned as he looked at the number only to hit the answer button when Zombie's name popped up.

"Dyson?" Zombie sounded rather frantic.

"Yeah," He said as he looked to Trick then Bo. "What's going on?"

"Lauren called Lucia and I not long ago asking for us to come and look after the kids." Dyson felt his heart clenched. "When we arrived, the kids were sleeping but Lauren wasn't here and another odd scent was in the area. I think something's happened. Lauren isn't answering her phone."

"Thanks for the info, Zombie." Dyson told the vampire. "Will you and Lucia make sure that Mikael and Ali are safe?"

"No problem, D-man!" Dyson heard Lucia call out. "You just take care of Kenzi for us."

Dyson couldn't say anything else as Zombie hung up. He closed his eyes tightly as his thoughts returned to Kenzi. His mate who he disowned and hurt. Dyson didn't know what to do but when Rainer rushed out from the back room with a fearful expression, Dyson knew right then that Kenzi was in trouble. He wasn't able to say anything before Rainer hurried to Bo and pulled her tight.

"Kenzi's gone." Rainer was telling the truth so far but Dyson didn't like this. "I went to the bathroom and heard what you were saying but when I came back out she was gone."

Dyson's eyes widen as he realized what must have happened. "Shit, Kenzi heard that Lauren was taken." He looked at Trick. "Call Hale and let him know that we have to find Kenzi. I would like his and Macy's help if they have the time."

"I'm on it." Trick nodded as he exited the bar and hurried into the back and down the hidden stairs.

Dyson turned to Bo and Rainer to see them staring at him with a frown on each of their faces. He knew exactly what Bo was thinking but he couldn't really tell what the Rainer guy was thinking. He still believed that this guy had Bo under some kind of spell but he didn't know what. Pushing those thoughts to the back of his mind, Dyson looked at Bo once again.

"Bo," He started as he walked over and took her hand. "I need your help. I realize now what I did and how I made Kenzi feel. I can finally feel her again and her heart is breaking because of me." Dyson closed his eyes for a moment, banishing the tears that threatened to fall. "I wont make the same mistake twice." He opened his eyes looking into hers as his eyes glowed bright gold.

Dyson could feel his mate but it seemed she was locked away somewhere although her body was moving on it's own accord. He turned fearful when Rainer's eyes glazed over but Bo just shook her head as she took his hand in hers. It didn't take long before he blinked a few times returning them to their normal deep brown color. He looked between Bo and Dyson only to swallow. He had seen his own future and realized just what Bo and his destiny was. Kissing her soundly, Rainer finally pulled back and smiled at her sadly.

"I know where Kenzi and Lauren are." He told Bo but knew Dyson heard. "The final battle is drawing near. Bo, I want you to go save Lauren. I need to go with Dyson to help put a stop to this." Rainer didn't say anything but he knew it was his time to die, no matter what any ones says.

Even the Dark King's follower, Alisha.

"What are we waiting for?" Dyson growled at the man, barely able to hold his arms at his side. "I want to get my mate back." His eyes grew a brighter gold as he merged more with his wolf.

Bo smiled as she looked to Rainer but then frowned not liking what was going on with him. Rainer just smiled, kissed her passionately once more then went over by Dyson holding her hand.

"We need to get there soon." He looked back to see Trick standing there. "Will you teleport us, Blood King?" Rainer bowed his head as he use to in the days before he was cast out.

Trick smiled sadly at Rainer. "I'm just Trick now." He told the Seer, knowing he saw what was to happen. "The blood king was killed centuries ago and I will send you but you must be careful. People will try to trick each and everyone of you to make you stray from your path. Do not fall for the lies."

Trick started to chant as he tossed some kind of powered onto them. A bright symbol appeared under their feet and the suddenly felt a whoosh as all three of them arrived at building like structure. Rainer looked at Bo, kissed once more then took Dyson's hand and pulled him in one direction, down the stairs. Bo touched her lips as she suddenly heard a scream causing her heart to clench in pain. As her right hand grabbed her chest, Bo rushed the opposite direction as she headed down a long hallway. She didn't understand why but it was as if something was drawing her towards the sounds of the screams that didn't come often. Bo felt that was a good sign at the moment but then again what was happening to Lauren, if it was Lauren and she believed it was.

Author Note – Here is the next chapter of Holding Tight, Letting Go. I would like to tell my readers that just because I didn't have internet, I still worked on my stories that I know you would love for me to finish. Having Co-written stories while no internet though is terrible, horrible and a disaster. I was so bored! And am Bored since I'm writing this while I have no internet. Now, I cant help but wonder what is going on with Kenzi, Bo, Lauren, Dyson and Rainer? Well, I know but what do you think is going on? Rainer found out he needed to sacrifice his self in order to stop this but what will Lauren hear from Alisha? Not to mention that According to Rainer, Alisha is a servant of the Dark King? Who is on the side of the light and who is playing around? Only the upcoming chapters will reveal this thus you must keep reading. Til the next chapter please read and review!
