Chapter 35

'It's cold…I, I, just want to sleep…'

"We're almost there! Hiya, I promise everything will be fixed."

'Who? Why can't I m-.' An pained moan filled the vehicle. The voice seemed to be shaken now. 'Fading, fading…'

"No, H-Hiya!"

"Sir, please, don't touch him. I know you're a doctor but it's just not safe."

"If you'd just-."

"We're almost there he'll-."

'Darkness…What, I can't remember…Fading, fading away…It feels-." A loud and rapid beep started up from its calmer state.

"Hiya! S-stay with me, stay awake!"

"-Welcoming." The beep had become a loud electronic screech. The other man seemed to shout something then start up a serious of electronic pulses but it was all for nothing in the end. A few moments passed in silence.

"I'm sorry, he's gone."

"It's fine." He mumbled low enough so the other wouldn't hear. "I'll just have to fix him myself…"

*Time*

"Hello. Neko-Chan." The pink-haired teen looked up from her mittens to see the little boy standing just ahead of her.

"Oh, hey Gacha, It's been a while hasn't it?"

"What are you doing here by yourself? Are you lost?"

"No. I just…Needed some air." She didn't want to admit she got in a fight with her house mates...And that she was lost and the embarrassing reality that led to her being lost. "What are you doing here?"

"We came to check on my aunt. She gets to stay at our house for a while since the storm knocked her power out."

"Oh? That's right, the storm was pretty bad not too long ago…" She got a sudden shiver from a rogue wind.

"And it's picking back up again soon." Matsu's feet crunched in the snow as he walked up behind Ryuto. He only had to take one look at the girl to see she had been out for some time. "You shouldn't be out here by yourself. Where's-."

"I-I'm fine, really."

"You're shivering Iroha. Please, I'll drive you home. I'm sure she's worried about you."

"She's not at home right now…She left before me to visit a friend for the weekend and I locked myself out…"

"How long have you been out here? Iroha, you should come to the house and use our phone. It's not healthy for you to be out here in the cold."

"I appreciate the offer-."

"Yeah, it'll be better than last time when you came to visit! Kane-Chan is even here this time."

"Um…I, am kind of losing the feeling in my toes…"

*Time*

"It's been too long." Hiyo mumbled to himself. He stood over the body with a syringe in one hand. His whole body jerked upward as the monitor came to life. "Yes, it's working!" The smile on face quickly faded as soon as the limbs began to shiver.

"Gh-ah! Eh-eeehhh." The body moaned and quivered. Drool escaped his gapping mouth when words failed. It was as he feared. The brain was far too damaged to work again.

"Hi-Hiya…" The man's eyes grew wide as he saw his brother's look straight at him. His dark eyes sad and pleading. The shaking of his body only became more violent. His brother could only watch in horror as he did so. After much struggling and moaning he was only able to utter one word.

"Pain."

"No…" He bowed his head as he felt the tears start to fall. He drew a little closer, putting the syringe down on the tray. His hand hesitated as he reached for the one next to it.

"Eh-eh-end."

"I-I'm so sorry…" He did just as he was told. "I-I just wanted to help you again…"
