I am not a resident of England or any country in the EU, I have only just heard about Brexit today and my sources are likely very opinionated. This chapter is meant to be a spoof of the situation, my goal isn't to sway opinions.

Most world meetings are called to solve international tensions and find ways to move the world into a better future, as such these meetings are to be carried out diplomatically. Surely, there is nothing more diplomatic than the entire EU staring England down as he continued to set fire to the world (metaphorically speaking).

The day had started simply enough, England had announced a movement to leave the EU just a day before even though as a whole he was very conflicted on whether or not he should follow through with it. In his mind, it would create several opportunities for everyone and help keep his people safe, that how he was rationalizing it anyway. Either way repercussions were sure to follow which England was ready for, in fact this morning England had gone to his mailbox and found a letter from Japan. When he opened it up it read just said "No" in a large font, accompany this blunt letter was a document showing that any company Japan had that invested in British companies had immediately pulled their stocks and cut ties.

Sure, there were going to be countries that were paranoid and didn't like to take risks and Japan was no surprise, they had all seen his campaign for the Olympics, but England wasn't going to worry just because maybe one or two countries wouldn't take to him. By the time he had gotten to the meeting England had mentally prepared himself for whatever flak they were going to throw at him.

When England opened the door all the lights were off, assuming that he had somehow gotten there earlier that everyone else he felt around for a light switch. Finding the switched he turned on the lights and nearly had a heart attack when he saw that every seat in the room was filled by a country silently watching him, glaring. The door closed behind him, England jumped again when he realized that Netherlands had been behind the door.

"Why don't you sit down, England?" The Netherlands said in a quiet, deadpan voice.

England was wrong, he was not prepared for this. Not one to loose face, he complied while pretending not to be intimidated. Instead he looked around, France and the Italy brothers were conspiring in a corner, in the far end of the room was Norway and Iceland; neither of them were in the European Union and as a result were more interested in drinking coffee then plotting the death of England. Though Russia was smiling you could tell that he was at least somewhat angry which made him worry that Russia had some sort of plan, however no one in the room was more visibly angry than Switzerland of all nations.

"England," Belgium said in a fake sweet tone, she too was very angry but was trying not to show it. "We heard that you want to leave the EU. Would you mind telling us what made you want to do that?" Her hands were clasped together and lying on the table as she discreetly cracked her knuckles.

"Three reasons actually: the first is that I don't want to have to keep sending you money so you can maintain the EU, second is that because of the location laws anyone from anywhere in the EU can come over to my house and get a job without a vista. Jobs are hard to come by and quite honestly, I'd rather help my people before anyone else's. Finally, I'm not even European."

"Yes you are."

"Am I really though? Russia isn't European, he isn't Asian, he's just Russia. And I want to be just England."

"Just England, hm? It funny you should mention that" Belgium reached into her bag and took over an envelope. "because your brothers seem to have the same idea." She coyly slide the envelope over to him. Inside the envelope were letters from Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales who all couldn't be bothered to actually come to the meeting however each of them were more than motivated to share some very harsh words with him.

"Remember England, Europe is a pissy bitch with volatile mood swings so if you keep trying to set fire to the world than that fire is going to be catapulted right back at you. Now if you don't mind, Switzerland would like to put the whole neutrality thing on hold and share some heart felt words with you." England gulped as Belgium stood up and moved out of the way while Switzerland took her place.

After the meeting had ended England was too scared to sleep for an entire week.

For clarification, while I was writing this chapter I focused on economic consequences rather than international relations, though Switzerland is not a member of the EU their economy was effected along with many other countries due to the pound loosing value.
