Now, on to the story, shall we?
I don't own any characters of Twilight Breaking Dawn. I'm simply borrowing them to share my creativity with the world.
37: Prey
(Paul's POV)
She is beautiful.
Her hair, dark as night, brushes against my arms as she pulls away. It falls neatly down her back, curling at the ends. I resist the urge to reach out and pull her back to me. Her voice is like music as she begs me to back away, a hint of fear in her plea. I move quietly, keeping my eyes on the leech. If that bloodsucker lays a hand on my mate...
She approaches Bella with the movements of a predator, careful and quick. A sound slips from her throat, deep and dangerous. A growl.
It happens so fast.
One minute she's there, the next she's a blur, rushing at the vampire. There's an earsplitting crack when their bodies collide, sending Bella flying. She jumps to her feet, her eyes wild. I scan the field for the silver-eyed Angel. panic coursing through my veins.
(Ria's POV)
I am hit with the force of a tank at a hundred miles an hour. I grunt as I fly back, hitting the ground. Dirt flies into the air as I jump up, lunging for Bella again. My heart races; adrenaline heightens my senses. Red clouds my vision as I reach Bella, gripping her upper arms. Slamming her onto the ground, I hold her there. She rakes her hand along my cheek, causing blood to run down my face. I throw my head back, letting out a shriek.
She shoves me off of her. I snarl as blood trickles onto my clothes. Summoning water, I hurl it in Bella's direction, throwing her against the tree. I push her to the ground, throwing a punch to her jaw. The newborn lets out a hiss, reaching for my throat. I leap up, pulling her up with me and forcing her into a headlock. I let out a scream as her teeth graze my skin, making me lose my grip. I sink to a crouch, ready to attack again. Her red eyes show a flicker of fear.
Charging forward, I go for her throat, pining her in place. A smirk comes to her face, infuriating me further. I tighten my grip on her icy neck, getting in close.
"You hear me, and you hear me well, you soulless, depraved wretch," I hiss through my teeth, "if you ever, ever speak of my family like that again, I swear I'll tear you limb from limb and throw you in the flame, got it?"
Breathing heavily, I step back, clenching and unclenching my fists. Walking back to the others, I move towards Kim, who has gone pale. "Kimmy, are you-?"
I'm cut off by her shrill scream. Whirling around, I look just in time to see Bella rushing towards us. Gasping, I quickly leap in front of Jared's imprint, throwing my arms out in front of me. "NO!"
As if hitting a wall, Bella suddenly jerks to a halt, arms glued to her sides, eyes wide and full of fear. As i hold my hands out, I can feel something leaving her, something light and beautiful. It is strong, something precious.
Her life.
It goes from her to me in a steady, agonizing stream. Soft whispers ring in my ears as my skin tingles. It strengthens me with each breath she takes, pulsing through my veins with vitalizing electricity. The voices get louder, screaming in my ears. It is incredible, energy I have never felt before...
I hate it.
"Stop!" She chokes out. "Please!"
I suck in a breath. The energy is suddenly yanked away from me, leaving me light-headed and nauseous. A searing pain suddenly flares in my chest, like frozen ice is piercing through my body.
Bella is now able to move, touching her throat and gasping for breath. The voices hiss and shriek. Then suddenly, a familiar laugh rings in my ears, chilling and impassive. "I found you, lovely river..."
I drop to my knees, covering my ears. I remain still, steadying my heartbeat. Cold, stone-like arms start to wrap around me, causing a scream to erupt from my mouth. They quickly pull away.
I want my brother.
Soon, strong, human-like arms encircle me, holding me tightly; I look up into eyes that are shockingly similar to my own.
"What's wrong, little one?"
I don't answer my brother. The sinister voice still speaks. "You thought you could hide, didn't you? Thought you were safe."
I whimper. "But I've been hunting you. You are my prey, and now that I've found you, .you will be mine"
I shake my head, mumbling to myself, squeezing my eyes shut.
(Dominic's POV)
She crumples to her knees, hands cupped over her ears. As she flinches away from our mother's touch, Ria cries out for me. I immediately push past the others, striding over to her shaking form.
Crouching down, I gently gather her in my embrace. Her eyes flicker to mine, unseeing, lost. I stroke her hair. "What's wrong, little one?"
She shakes her head again, her hold tightening on her ears, her mumbles becoming faster, desperate. I meet Francesca's eyes, shaking my head. Her body immediately stiffens.
"What is she saying?"
I turn back to my twin, closing my eyes and focusing my senses to listen to her as she continues in Spanish, translating it without a thought.
"No más."
"No more." I repeat in English.
"Detener."
"Stop."
"Por favor, déjame en paz, Admon!"
My eyes snap open in alarm, "Stars Above, snap out of it, Ria!"
Nina steps forward, "What is it, Dominic?"
I remain silent, holding Ria protectively. "Aaron!" Francesca suddenly exclaims, her voice panicked, "What did she say?"
I shake my head. "...Please, leave me alone...Admon..."
"What?" Mom whispers, her eyes widening.
Dad growls, moving closer to Ria. The others exchange glances. Nina steps forward, "It's time."
"No."
We turn to see Nettie's icy glare directed at Mother Nature. I glance down at her.
"I'm alright, Dom." She mutters. "What's done is done."
The Water Angel brushes past me to move in front of our hazel-eyed sister. "We swore, Terra. We're bound to our promises."
"You were human. You are not bound as we are."
(Ria's POV)
"I won't leave to hear you've all died." I whisper. "Please. Please, Nina. Don't make me leave. Allow me to stand beside you."
She shakes her head, but I can see her resolve wavering. "It's too dangerous..."
"I'm no longer a mortal." I persist. "Let me prove I can hold my own."
"Admon is hunting you-"
"I bear his Mark on my chest. There is no running now." I look at her through watery eyes. "Let me fight."
"...And if it means your death?" She says quietly.
I stand straighter, raising my chin. "Then so be it. But I will not stand by and watch my family face this evil without me. If it means my life, it will be an honor to say it was given for the ones I love."
"This is not a question of honor, Ria."
The clearing is silent.
I step forward, clasping her hands between my own. "I know."
Searching my gaze, she finally nods. "Very well."
I hope you liked it
What do you think is going to happen next? and what's up with Admon?
