*ANSWERS!*
1. Sorry, it's going to be kept a surprise for a certain purpose.
2. The alternate ending to Season 3 can only happen if three conditions occur: Vaughn was saved instead of Maree, you do not vote Dusty the leader, and you let Dusty take his vengeance in killing Katherine. These instances will leave the man much more disheartened and distant the rest of the of the season, and he'll tell Clem at the end to stay with Lucas and the bridge survivors while he wanders off on his own, not feeling right to take care of her and AJ. But their presence will be a constant reminder to Lucas of Michael's death, more bittersweet there.
So I believe we all got the better ending. :) (The canon non-canon season 3 ending, get it?)
