Our love's little Infinity
Chapter 38: Happy
Isaac gets home at about seven, finding me in the dining room which I have decorated with fairy lights and candles. The table is set with his favourite meal, which I made. Spaghetti Bolognese, with garlic bread.
"What's all this?" He asks, surprised as he wraps his arms around my waist.
"Well, I wanted to do something special for you to say thank you for looking after me whilst I have been sick. So I made your favourite meal. I also have a surprise for you, but that is going to wait until later." I explain before kissing him sweetly.
We sit down and enjoy our meal, talking and laughing about whatever comes to mind.
When we're done I take the dishes to the kitchen and tell him to wait where he is. He refuses at first saying that he should take the plates out because I've been ill but I force him, telling him he won't get his surprise if he doesn't stay there.
I enter the kitchen and put the dishes on the side, so they're ready to be washed when one of us can be asked to. Knowing Isaac he's going to make me rest while he does it when he finds out.
I hope he's happy. I know he wants kids but I don't know if he wants them now.
Earlier I made a chocolate cake, his favourite, and I iced the words 'I love you, daddy!' on the top of it in pink and blue icing. Mainly because I don't know the genders yet, and won't for another fourteen weeks. I have put the ultrasound picture on the plate so it is leaning against the cake, but not enough to get cream on it.
I pick up the plate and take it to the dining room, placing it on the table in front of Isaac so he can read the icing and see the picture.
He gasps when he understands what's going on. Then he smiles. Looking up at me.
"You're pregnant?" He questions.
I nod in reply, also smiling.
He stands and picks me up, spinning me around as I squeal in delight.
He puts me back on the floor not long after starting and places his hands on my stomach.
"How far along are you?"
"About six weeks. Are you happy?"
"Of course I'm happy. I'm going to be a daddy. I love you, Hazel. And the twins. And our baby."
"We love you, too."
And we kiss, passionately.
We're happy.
Hey. Sorry for the short chapter but I really didn't know what to write.
After Hazel has had this baby I will do an epilogue and it will be the end of this story, mainly because I really don't know what to write for this story. So I'd say about ten more chapters, at the most, maybe. But I may be doing another TFIOS fanfic soon about if Hazel and Gus didn't have cancer and were just normal teenagers who met in High School.
I will update again as soon as I can.
