AN: Rough week at work but since tomorrow (Sunday) it's supposed to snow heavily all day, I am fairly sure I will finish this before Monday.

MN: I am a very cold muse right now, and the temperature is supposed to plummet further in the wake of this snowstorm. To everyone in its path: be safe!

Marnie2598 requested cabins, fireplaces, and kissing in the snow and I had only given you guys the kissing bit, so here is the rest (at lease mostly).

Those five hours of sleep were the last the team saw for two more days until Garcia managed to find the one digital clue that brought their puzzle together. They were able to track their UnSub to an abandoned cabin and apprehend him before he could claim the life of his seventh victim in less than two weeks.

It had only taken JJ and Rossi fifteen minutes of questioning to get him to confess. Now, the team watched as the man was led down the hall toward holding in cuffs and ankle shackles. Hotch finished his conversation with the sheriff and approached them. "Bad news. The snow's really picked up in the last hour and it's drifting. The road through the hills is practically impassable and they've shut it down. We will be staying for at least a couple of days."

Rossi shrugged. "As long as we can sleep, I'm not complaining. I could always do some writing."

The group started collecting their coats and other personal items. Morgan pulled a hat over his head. "The hotel's got Wi-Fi. I'll manage to keep myself entertained."

As they moved toward the station's entrance, Blake donned thick gloves. "I'm with Morgan on the Wi-Fi. I can download a few new books."

Hotch extracted a set of keys from his pocket and handed them to Morgan. "Why don't you guys take the SUV? I'll ride in the sedan with Reid and JJ."

Everyone agreed readily, but JJ felt a little trepidatious. She was worried that he had found out that she had not, in fact, shared a room with Blake, but rather had been based out of Spencer's. She had been back to the hotel twice since she had woken in his room, both times staying only long enough to shower and change before leaving again, so she hadn't bothered moving her things to her own room.

Spencer had handed Hotch the keys to the vehicle and she followed him around to the passenger side, climbing into the backseat. They all buckled in, settling into silence as they followed the SUV from the parking lot. The road conditions were deteriorating rapidly and the going was slow. After ten minutes, they were only about a third of the way to the hotel.

It was Hotch who broke the silence. "So, just for the record, as far as I'm concerned, we are officially off duty. I don't see any reason why you two can't continue to share a room."

His comments were not at all what she expected, but the fact that he knew they had shared a room made her nervousness renew. "Look, Hotch, the other night, I fell asleep in the car and my room was on the second floor so Spence just…"

He cut her off. "I get it. And honestly, I don't have a problem with it either way. As far as appearances go, you've shared rooms with every member of this team before, and what you do behind closed doors is your business as long as it doesn't affect your job performance."

Spencer nodded quickly. "Of course. No impact, whatsoever on our professionalism will be detectable."

Hotch laughed at the overly clinical way in which Spencer had replied. "Alright. That's enough of that. Have either of you eaten at the restaurant next to the hotel yet? I'm starving."

One of the perks of the rustic quality to the hotel was the fireplaces. There was one in each of the hotel's lounge areas and the team was making good use of them. The day after they had wrapped up the case found the six of them lounging around a fireplace. Sitting on the couch, Blake had ereader in hand, Rossi was mostly doodling in a notebook pretending to write, and Morgan was playing games on a laptop. Hotch was sitting in an arm chair, the look on his face leaving no doubt that he was working on paperwork on his own laptop. JJ was leaning against Spencer, her legs draped over the loveseat's arm. She was sorting through emails on her tablet while he read a book.

Rossi set his notebook to the side and stood, stretching before taking the few steps to the fireplace to add more wood. He used one log to indicate JJ's tablet. "Please tell me at least one of the ones that looks promising for a case is somewhere warm. I could get behind a trip to Arizona."

"Sorry. Looks like all the serial killers have migrated north for the winter. I've got consult requests for Chicago, Buffalo, some small town in Maine, and North Dakota. On a positive note, no one is requesting our presence just yet." She opened the next email in her inbox. "Here's another. Green Bay."

Hotch tuned into the conversation at the mention of work. "Forward the emails. We can each take one; knock out the consults this afternoon."

Morgan rolled his eyes at the prospect of work. "You better not give me the Green Bay one. With my luck, I'd end up video conferencing the biggest cheese head fan in the state."

Blake set aside her ereader. "Just because you have the poor taste to be a Bear's fan doesn't give you license to insult the entire state of Wisconsin."

JJ chuckled as she tapped the screen, sending each of her teammates one of the emails. "What do you guys say we grab some lunch before we all dive into the cases?"

Spencer had been completely focused on his book until she mentioned food. "Lunch? Is it lunchtime?"

Morgan closed his laptop and set it on the coffee table. "Kid, you do know you have a one track mind, right?"

Spencer laid his book aside, his eidetic memory making a bookmark unnecessary. "Actually, I have an extremely high ability to multitask."

JJ twisted, bringing her feet to the floor as she sat up. She patted him on the knee. "He was making fun of you, Spence. You tuned out our entire conversation."

"No, I didn't. Rossi wants a case in the desert, but all of the consult requests you have are in northern states, Hotch wants them divided up and worked on today, Morgan is prejudiced against the state of Wisconsin due to being a fan of a football team with whom the state's team has a rivalry, Blake is by far the most logical of any of you, and you think we should go to lunch." He smirked at the shock on his teammates' faces.

Morgan put his hands up. "I stand corrected. You have a great ability to catalogue a conversation of which you are taking no part and I will never have a private phone conversation when you're around again."

His grin widened. "As well you shouldn't. I know quite a number of details about your past relationships that you would likely find quite embarrassing if they were to become public knowledge."

JJ stood. "Alright now, play nicely boys. Are the rest of you going to sit around and listen to them, or are we going to eat?"

In an instant, Spencer was on his feet at her side. "We are going to eat. Definitely eat."

The group dispersed to return their belongings to their rooms and exchange them for coats, hats and boots, then met back up in the lobby. Since they were the only ones staying on the first floor, JJ and Spencer were the first ones ready to go.

As they waited in the lobby, they chatted idly. She wasn't quite sure when Spencer's hand had found hers, but she realized it was there when it squeezed gently, his voice calling her attention from where she was watching for the rest of the team to his face. "If we have to be snowed in in a remote town with no public library, I'm glad we're snowed in together."

She smiled at him. "Me too." She stepped in close to him and stretched up to press her lips to his.

He returned the kiss with enthusiasm, pulling her tightly against him until Morgan's groan interrupted them. "Oh come on! We don't need to see that. You two are going to make me lose my appetite!"

Spencer kept his arm around JJ, nestling her into his side as they turned toward their friend. "Morgan, you should really discuss your simultaneous fear and jealousy of intimacy with your mental health professional."

Blake was just behind Morgan and she walked around him, elbowing him in the arm as she did so. "They are adorable. Leave them be or I'll sick Garcia on you."

Morgan's mouth snapped shut as Hotch and Rossi joined them and he led the way to the front door of the hotel.

AN: Was that fluffy enough for y'all? It's been snowing for about 14 hours and we're already over half a foot. They are saying up to another 10 inches so I may be getting total of close to a foot and a half before it's done. Here's hoping they close my location tomorrow and I don't have to make it to work in this mess!
