Mint
The ballerina was getting ready for breakfast when she heard banging on her main door. It was a frightened Lettuce.
"What is it?" she asked braiding the right side of her hair.
"Pudding's missing!" she yelled.
"WHAT?!" she screamed stopping her moves "Wake everyone up I'll take my pendant and Doakī, do the same" she ordered as she fastened her braid not caring that her left one was longer.
This was becoming a habit, really. Last month Zakuro was missing but she was paying a visit to farmers in her namesake plains, she just forgot to tell everyone. Three weeks ago, one of Reijin's spies tried to kidnap Sugā but failed. Mint took her pendant and Doakī just like she said she would and teleported to the dining-room where all the Ikisatashis were having breakfast with the exception of Rirī and Ichigo's baby of course. Everyone missed them badly, three hours ago, Taruto and Pai flew a spaceship in order to visit and bring some of Ichigo's news to the family. Many people wanted to accompany them but only Kēkki got to, Kish is willing to do anything he can to avoid her getting killed because Reijin's troops were getting stronger day by day.
"Ohayō" she said grim-faced.
"Is there a problem, Mint-Chan?" Rin asked.
"Pudding's missing, she didn't leave a note or anything" she said with fury in her eyes and her fists clenched.
Curry stood up "What are we waiting for? Every minute counts, Reijin isn't the tender kind!"
"Like we could forget" Rin said as Mazui barged in.
"Reijin! Reijin kidnapped Mew Pudding!" he yelled out of breath.
"Where? How? When?" Risa, who walked in right after he did, asked alarmed.
"On one of the Lettuce shores, she was trapped in a group of four men, at four in the morning" he said regaining his breath.
"How do you know so much about it?" Zakuro asked suspiciously.
"I uh… I-I er was there too" he said hesitantly.
"Yes, but how come?" she insisted.
"Can we focus on saving the monkey? That'd be great" Kish suddenly said, having heard everyone's thoughts.
"Yeah, ask your questions when we find her" Rōzu said.
"Speaking of which, we should call in Yuri" Mint said "She might know the closest base to the shore"
"Or she might not" said a concerned Lettuce.
"We can still try, Kish will you please contact her?" Mint asked.
"Consider it done" he said as he disappeared.
"What can we do?" asked Rin from where she sat.
"About what?" asked a knocked out Keiichiro.
"Pudding's been kidnapped" Mazui said.
"Did she have her pendant or Doakī with her?" he asked, suddenly wide awake.
"She had both" he said "Can you find her with this?"
"I sure can try, however I cannot locate exactly where she is" he said.
"Why not?" Lettuce asked.
"Yeah, I thought Pai made those things as trackers as well" Rōzu said.
"He did but we still don't have an accurate map of Cynnth" he said "Just the planet and approximate suggestions for the teleportation device."
"Then how can you find her?" Curry, who was more into fighting styles and battle plans than in high-tech, asked.
"The computer tells exactly her distance from here. If we can get to her last spot we can trace her and find if she's kept close or not. In which case I'll have to rely on her pendant and Masha"
"Come on, we don't have any time to lose!" Rōzu said.
Pudding
She was sat on a bed she didn't know, wrists handcuffed to the wooden bed header. The room was decorated in red and white with some Japanese features. However, the window showed her that she was under the sea. Her pendant and Doakī were still in her pockets, she was thinking of how to get her handcuffed hands in her pockets. After half an hour of thinking, she held herself up using her feet and the bed header. And with a flip, her body was facing the wall behind the bed with her arms holding her up. She then started curling into a ball to try and get her hand in her pocket, she was finally able to do so but what she picked out was her pendant. She sighed rather loudly before doing the stunt all over again reaching for her right pocket this time. She hid her pendant in her cleavage by swiftly throwing it there, she then flipped open her communication device and sent an emergency text that was pre-typed in case of a similar situation. She waited until the bar loaded when she heard footsteps right behind the door facing her. Fast, she put the Doakī back in her pocket and pretended to be asleep.
"Where did you find it?" an old woman's voice asked.
"She was wandering too close to this base's entry" a male voice said "I don't think she was expecting us though, she was already transformed and frightened when we appeared"
"Nevertheless" the first voice said "She needn't walk around our bases anyway"
"So is this a good catch or not?" he asked impatiently.
"Well she's no Cyniclon but I guess we can get more if we ask for a ransom… Or the world for that matter" she said as she cackled rather loudly.
Pudding thought it the perfect occasion to moan to awakening, she squeezed her eyes shut and her brow furrowed as she was pretending to wake up when in reality she hadn't closed her eyes for more than a blink or two since she got here. The monkey-girl's mind was racing, in search for a way out. She didn't have a choice now but try to lure one of her guards to free her.
Her eyes snapped open as she pretended to just remember where she was.
"Wh-Where am I?" she stuttered as she saw a gray haired old lady, round in shape and hard in features.
Cyniclons were usually very attractive but she looked like an exception. Her eyes were white and her pupils too tiny to be noticed. She was accompanied by a tall man… Pudding frowned as she saw him, he was in many battles since the beginning but she didn't remember his name. He had navy blue hair and hot colored eyes with scars all over…
"Well look who finally awoke?" he said, a pleasant smile on his face. He could've been attractive had he not bear these scars.
"How much time did I spend here?" she asked.
"A few hours, really" he said "General-Sama is going to interrogate you in the morning, I suggest you sleep on until then"
"How can I sleep when I'm not in my room? Let alone comfortable" she scoffed.
"Are these manners for a young lady?" the old woman exclaimed outraged.
"Well no, I'm not considered as a young lady" Pudding said "I'd rather be called a teenager as I'm only sixteen years old… Seventeen in a week, I hope I'll be home by then"
"What makes you think that you'll be on Earth a week from now?" the old lady asked.
"I wasn't talking about Earth!" she snapped "What's your freaking name anyway?"
"I'm called Ikisatashi Pasuta" she said haughtily "Ikisatashi-Sama to you insolent little wrench"
"Hai Pasuta" she said not bothering to please her "And what's yours?" she asked aiming at the boy.
"You can call me Beikoku" he said with a quick nod.
"Beikoku, alright" she said "So apart from an interview with Reijin, what's in it for me?" she asked casually.
"We'll see" he said gently whispering to Pasuta to leave.
Once they were alone, he closed the door behind him and let himself slide until he was sat. He looked tired.
"You look exhausted" she said concerned.
"Trainings" he said with a smile.
"You're not like the others" she deducted "You're a good person, aren't you?"
"There's good and bad in everybody" he said putting his elbows on his retracted knees and joining his hands "People often think I'm a bad person because of my scars"
"How did you get them?" she asked.
"Fights" he said simply "Sometimes to be able to be fed, sometimes to protect my family… A lot of reasons, really"
"And er… Did any of those scars appear in this war?" she asked.
He chuckled darkly "Nah, I learnt how not to get any other scars by the time I was your age"
"Would it be presumptuous if I asked how old you are?" she said.
"No, it wouldn't. We would be even" he smirked.
"Then tell me" she said as her shoulders began to ache, she winced.
"Is something causing you pain?" he asked worriedly as he stood up to check on her.
"Er it's just my shoulders" she said cautiously "They hurt because of the handcuffs"
He looked bothered, not by her but by the situation "I'll see what I can do for this" he said thoughtfully.
She frowned "I remember seeing you in battles, you know?"
"You do?" he asked frowning as well.
"Yeah" she said with a brief nod "And you have no pity for Kisshu's soldiers yet here you are, asking if I need more ice in my drink"
His brow furrowed "What drink?"
"It's a metaphor, what I mean is: why do you care so much about my welfare?" she asked.
He looked at her deeply and she could see pain in him "You… You kind of remind me of my older sister" he said "Holy-Arukōru-Chan"
"Oh" she said sadly "I'm sorry for your loss"
He smiled at her "She was your age when I… When I failed to protect her in a snowstorm. She always liked to go to the surface and I had to watch her, being the eldest brother… I failed at protecting her and— and it was too late when I found her frozen corpse"
She swore she saw a tear before he turned away "I really feel sorry for you, Beikoku" she said truthfully.
"She looked just like you" he added trying to contain his sobs "Except she had lighter hair than yours and darker eyes"
"She must've looked really pretty" she said compassionately.
"The most beautiful girl I have ever seen" he said "I should let you sleep; you're going to need strength when Reijin will come for his questionnaire"
"Thank you Beikoku" she said "Can I ask for a favor, though?"
"What is it?" he said as he tried not to look into her eyes.
"Please be the only one to guard my room" she said "I have a feeling I can trust you on this."
The corner of his mouth lifted as he nodded "Hai, Fong-San"
"Arigato" she said sweetly as she drifted away to sleep.
She wasn't dumb though, she knew he was probably lying and a good actor but she made him think she trusted him which, in both cases, was going to help her. The good part of being smart is that we can always act dumb, the opposite is not possible. Pudding liked to go around with this mentality. She knew she needed to sleep though; it was primordial if she wanted to make a run for it the next day.
Ichigo
The strawberry haired girl was reading a book about pregnancies and raising a child when Rirī appeared next to her bed all excited.
"Alright spill" she said closing her book, not forgetting to mark her page.
"Your surprise has come!" she squealed excitedly.
Her eyebrows rose at her announcement "Show me, then" she said containing her feelings.
The newly brunette Cyniclon cleared her throat "Ahem" before raising her hand "May I present to you" she lowered it swiftly making Tart, Pai and Kēkki appear "Your three days guests!"
"My gloves" she said "Quickly, my gloves!"
Rirī materialized them and helped Ichigo wear them before she started squealing in delight, hugging Kēkki first, Pai then and lastly with a big warm long hug, Taruto.
"I've missed you so much, Onee-Chan" he said.
"I've missed you even more" she said "How are they all?"
"Missing you for sure!" Kēkki said "Especially Onii-Chan"
"I miss him so much…" she said sadly "I hope no one's getting married before I come back!"
"No one's getting married before this war ends" Pai said chuckling some.
"Ahh perfect" she said.
They spent an hour or so discussing about past events on Cynnth, on Earth and so on until Pai asked THE question.
"Ichigo" he said solemnly "I have something important to ask you"
"You should wear a black tuxedo at your wedding" she said giggling.
He laughed lightly "No, that's not it. What I want to ask you is: Would you rather have your child here or on Cynnth?"
