(With Mitch)

Pale green eyes blinked open, Mitch groaned as he began to rejoin the land of consciousness. The spirit shivered slightly as the feeling of concrete met his senses, Mitch realized he was lying on his side, his face against the cold floor. He recognized the room he had been forced into earlier. "Damn, so much for another escape attempt." The boy mused when he tried to move his hands only to discover that they had almost been cocooned in tight rope.

"Mew?"

A tap on his forehead brought his attention to the small wire cage at his head, "Hey Sam, you still not yourself?" the boy couldn't help but smile when the kitten patted his forehead again, trying to get him to let him out of his prison. "Sorry buddy, I'm a little tied up at the moment." Mitch sighed, "And it looks like I won't be going anywhere for a while." He glanced at the tight ropes now wrapped securely around his ankles and just above and below his knees.

Crimson eyes gleamed, why didn't the boy get up and let him out? The boy had to know that he didn't like the small box the mean earth smelling man had thrown him into. The kitten reached out again with his paw.

"Ow! Sam stop it!" Mitch yelped when the kitten decided that using his claws might be a better way of getting his message across. He squirmed his body sideways so that he was no longer in front of the kitten's prison, "Sorry Sam," he spoke quickly when the kitten glared at him, "But you can't be using your claws that hurts."

"Mew." The feline stretched his paw toward the boy again, he chirped in frustration when the wire kept him from reaching his intended target. The kitten retracted his paw and flopped onto his butt, if asking wouldn't get him out then perhaps another tactic was in order.

Mitch shook his head when the kitten began crying piteously, "Sam, come on. It'll be ok." He startled when footsteps resounded outside. He took a deep breath steadying his nerves as the door clicked as it was unlocked, he wouldn't let these assholes get any pleasure out of his fear.

"You get a good nap?" Russell smiled at the bound teen as he walked into the room

Mitch glared at the earth spirit sneering at him, "Yeah, you get an ugly mask?" he cried out in pain as the man slammed his foot into his stomach

Russell snarled, "You're lucky the boss still needs you brat otherwise I'd kill you now." He knelt beside the boy and grabbed his hair.

A yelp escaped Mitch as his head was yanked upwards

"Galt my never speak again because of you brat."

Mitch couldn't help himself, he would later blame his Uncle, "Maybe that's a good thing he sounded awful."

"Sarcastic little bastard!" Russell started to slam the boy's head to the floor, he stopped just short when he remembered his orders. With a growl he released his hold on Mitch and got to his feet.

Mitch smirked at the fact the man had stopped, "Must burn you up that you can't do more than give me a few bruises huh?"

Russell growled, "I hope the boss lets me have the honor of killing you when the time comes." He then turned his attention to the wire cage where the kitten was still crying, "Till then, perhaps I can make Galt a pair of kitten gloves."

Pale green eyes widened, "Don't hurt him please!" Mitch thrashed against his bounds as the man walked over to the cage, "I'm sorry!"

The earth spirit sneered at boy's begging "Sorry brat but someone has to pay for your little escape." He glanced down at the kitten now looking at him with a mixture of fear and curiosity, he grinned when the kitten tentively reached out with its paw towards his shoe.

"Russell please stop!" Mitch panicked at the look of cruelty that came to man's face

The earth spirit ignored him and with lightning speed lifted his foot and brought it down hard onto the small obsidian paw.

A loud crack followed by a shriek filled the room, the kitten scrambled backwards his cries loud as pain ripped through his now broken paw.

"I hope my dad turns you to dust you bastard!" Mitch yelled at the man as he struggled to get free

Russell smirked as he turned from the now bawling kitten "Your dad won't do a damn thing to us brat. He has no clue where we are." He reached and grabbed Mitch by the back of his shirt, "And after we send him our little ultimatum, he'll be like putty in our hands."

Mitch grimaced as he was dragged across the floor and out the door. Sam's pain filled cries still echoing behind him. He grimaced as the harsh concrete scraped his skin as he was dragged down the hallway.

"Hey Tor! Bring me some rope!" Russell yelled as they emerged from the hall and into the main building.

Mitch struggled against his bounds when he caught sight of the chair he was being dragged over to. He yelped when Russell yanked him up and forced him into the chair, the boy glared at the other spirit walking towards them, several coils of rope in his hand "Hey Tor, you enjoy that fist my dad planted in your face?" Mitch's head snapped to the side when the man backhanded him, he grinned "I guess not."

"Can we gag him Russell?" Tor growled as he handed rope to the other spirit

Russell chuckled as he began securing Mitch to the chair, "Not yet Tor. The boss wanted to speak to him first."

Mitch grunted as the earth spirit wrapped the rope around his torso pinning him to the chair, "Sure that's tight enough?"

"Well Mitch, you certainly have changed from the sniveling little brat we kidnapped all those centuries ago."

Mitch narrowed his eyes at the tall spirit walking towards him, "Lonato, where have you been hiding your ugly mug?"

The man smiled, straightening his black dress shirt, "Hmmm let me see…after your father put a bullet in my head I spent my time rotting in Hell."

"Then how are you out here now?" Mitch flinched when the man grabbed his chin, forcing him to look into his face

Lonato grinned at the hate in the boy's pale green eyes, "A few months ago Death's son offered me a chance to get what I have been craving for centuries."

"A breath mint?" Mitch's head snapped to the side, his face aching from the blow of the man's fist, he moved his jaw testing to see if it was broken.

"Revenge!" Lonato growled as he stepped back, "Revenge against the man that killed me!" he motioned at the other men standing around, "Killed me and my men that night."

"You guys asked for it by taking me to get him to go along with your sorry operation." Mitch glared at the spirit

Lonato sneered, "Well, it doesn't matter now. What matters is that once again I hold all the cards and your father will have no choice but to do as I say."

Mitch snorted, "Yeah, because that went 'so' well last time."

"Shut him up, I'm tired of hearing his smart mouth." Lonato growled motioning to Russell

"Gladly." The spirit grinned as he pulled a cloth from his pocket, he tied a knot in the middle of it as he stepped towards Mitch.

The boy shut his mouth, determined to not make it easy for the men to take his voice.

Russell laughed when Mitch clenched his jaws, he slammed his foot down hard onto the boy's foot.

Mitch screamed as the bones in his foot shattered, unfortunately as soon as he opened his mouth the knot was shoved between his teeth. The boy grunted as Russell pulled the cloth tight around his head securing the gag.

"Awww, sorry about that." Russell sneered at the tears rimming Mitch's eyes.

"No you're not you bastard." Mitch thought as he tried to collect himself as pain cascaded from his broken foot. He startled when Lonato grabbed his chin again, he glared at the spirit.

"All right Mitch, smile for the camera." Lonato laughed, "Never mind."

"Mmph u." Mitch grunted into the gag as the camera that had been set in front of him turned on.

(At Latvia Resort)

Iris smiled placing a cool rag onto Patrick's forehead again, she glanced at Jack who was still recounting the story of how he had stopped the two earth spirits. She chuckled, "And then what did you do?"

A proud grin came to his face, "Well I froze him sol…"

A loud scream interrupted the winter spirit's story, both Iris and Jack jumped to their feet and raced into the adjoining room.

Both paused at the sight before them, Pitch was thrashing wildly sweat beaded on his grey skin. The mark on his chest was gleaming red.

Jack rushed over to his brother, "Pitch! Hey Pitch wake up!" the winter spirit reached and shook the spirit by the shoulder.

Golden eyes snapped open

Jack cried out when what felt like a truck slammed into his stomach sending him flying into the opposite wall.

"Pitch, you're ok! Calm down!"

The winter spirit was dimly aware of Iris's voice as he tried to catch his breath, "Pitch what'd you punch me for?"

"Gods I am so sorry Jack!"

Jack was surprised when he was yanked to his feet, he smiled at his brother who was checking him over "I'm fine Pitch, that won't be first time I've been thrown into a wall and it won't be the last."

Golden eyes filled with sorrow, "Still…"

"Why did you react that way Pitch?" Jack spoke trying to distract the spirit, "I mean, I know you're not exactly the best person to wake up but you acted as if you were being attacked."

"Because the idiot did something incredibly stupid."

Pitch glanced at Iris who had crossed her arms, he forced a smile "And what makes you say that?" he grimaced as he sat on the edge of the bed his body still exhausted from his nightmare

Iris pointed at his chest, where the mark was just now dimming

Golden eyes followed her finger, he sighed as the mark faded as if it were never there "I had no choice Iris."

"What happened Pitch?" Jack's voice was quiet as he sat beside his brother, he noticed how bad his brother was shivering. He glanced at Iris, who had already reached and retrieved a blanket.

"Thanks." Pitch glanced at her as the woman draped it over him. He sighed, "When I went into the Between to retrieve Patrick…I was too late. Before I could get him out Terror had claimed him."

A gasp escaped Iris, "Then how…"

"I traded with him." Pitch glanced at her, he offered a weak smile

Jack's eyes widened, "What did you trade him Pitch?"

"My nightmares…" the spirit sighed, "Terror already gains power from me when I sense fear while I am awake. He wanted more, so he asked for my nightmares as well."

"Oh Pitch!" Iris embraced him, tears streaming down her face

Pitch forced a smile, though his body was shaking in pain "Shhh, its ok Iris I'll be fine. It's not like I'm a stranger to pain." He pushed her back, "Besides, it will pass within moments of me waking."

Blue eyes glared at Pitch, "You act like this isn't serious! Pitch you don't sleep good as it is, now you have to be in pain every night too?" the winter spirit was livid, "When the hell will you start thinking about yourself!"

"Jack…" Pitch stopped when footsteps echoed

"Excuse me, Greed has asked that you join him in his office." Nath spoke quickly, it was obvious he was out of breath, "The men that took Mitch just sent a message." The nature spirit was nearly bowled over by the Nightmare king as he raced from the room and then almost by the winter spirit.
