Hello, and welcome back to Northstar Pokeshipper's The Longest Road, everyone! Last time, Ash, Misty, Brock, Sabrina, and Vaporeon all met Pikachu's former herd, and had an encounter with Team Rocket that resulted in the death of Pikachu's mother. Pikachu had a hard time deciding whether to stay with his friends or return to his herd, but in the end, he chose the latter as his bond with Ash and Vaporeon was too deep. And now, in this much more happy chapter of The Longest Road, Ash and his friends are going to find a Pokemon and return it to its owner. But before we head their, I would like to take some time to respond to a review a guest left. Thanks for the advise on how to write my sadder scenes in the story better. I will sure to use them later on in the story, and to watch the episode you suggested, or, at the very least, read the synopsis of the episode on Bulbapedia since I AM a very busy Pokeshipper with school and this story. Anyways, it is time to begin the thirty-sixth chapter of the Longest Road, everyone! Let us get going!
It was January 12th, three days after Pikachu had a reunion with his herd that ended in tragedy. He, his trainer, his girlfriend, his trainer's girlfriend, and those two other guys traveling with (No offence, Brock and Sabrina, but I don't know how to put your relation with Pikachu exactly), were continuing down the longest road, and were approaching another clearing in the forest.
Suddenly, they heard a low, deep, cry. Brock looked around and asked the group, "What was that?"
To try and answer the Pewter City Gym Leader's question, Sabrina decided to use her Psychic powers to sense the area and told everyone to follow her. She ran towards a tree trunk with Ash, Misty, Brock, Pikachu, and Vaporeon right behind the dark green haired psychic. When she stopped, she told Pikachu to go through the hole in the tree trunk to see what was making that noise. He nodded and headed into the tree to try and find out what was making that noise. Inside the trunk of the tree, although it was dark in their, Pikachu could make out a blue bowl and some sort of Pokemon that was on a chain. To see what Pokemon was on said chain, he teased the Pokemon, who yanked on his chain and try to chase Pikachu down. The chain eventually broke and the Pokemon on it chased Pikachu out of the tree trunk. Since it was out in the sunshine, Ash and the others learned what Pokemon was scaring them: an Eevee! Since the Eevee was angry at Pikachu for taunting him, he began to attack Ash before Misty intervene.
"Don't worry, Eevee, you are going to fine!" Misty told the Evolution, or rather, Eeveelution, Pokemon. It slowly calmed down with the soothing voice of Misty Waterflower.
Just then, Brock noticed something around the neck of the Eeveelution. It was a collar! He asked Misty to give him the brown fox Pokemon, which she complied with, and he took a good look at the Eevee's collar. On the little golden tag on the collar, it read, "If lost, return to Mikey Ishi of Stone Town, of the 14th house on 3rd street."
"How about if we head that way and find your trainer, Eevee?" Ash asked the Evolution Pokemon.
Eevee happily said his name while Pikachu translated for his friend, "He says yes!" And with that, the group of friends decided to head to Stone Town.
"It should be nearby," Brock told the group, "As Stone Town is a Town known for being the leading founder of evolutionary stones in all of Kanto. It helps that the town on the foot of Evolution Mountain."
"Really?" Misty asked the squinty eyed man, "Evolution Mountain?"
"Well," Sabrina says, "It makes a bit of sense considering that more Evolutionary Stones are found their than any other place in Kanto, if not the entire world."
"Thanks, Sabrina," Misty said, "I totally didn't listen to what Brock said the first time!"
After walking for a good ten minutes, Ash, Misty, Brock, Sabrina, Pikachu, and Vaporeon have finally arrived in Stone Town.
"I can't exactly see why this is called Stone TOWN, it is hardly big enough to even be called a VILLAGE!" Ash said. And he was right. There were only a handful of houses, and only a single road that is nowhere near the length of the longest one Ash and company were going down, which makes one wonder how the hell the quote-unquote "town" gets its basic necessities such as food. And there were not even streets, which only meant one thing when the street was listed on the Eevee's collar: the owner was an abusive trainer and he was trying to trick anyone who was trying to return the Evolution Pokemon to him.
Just then, a boy who looked to be about a year younger than Ash, with brown hair and a lime green shirt, walked up to him. Ash asked him who he was, and the boy introduced himself to Ash and the gang as Mikey Ishi. Misty looked at the tag on the Eevee's collar, and it said the Eevee belonged to Mikey. When he saw that they had his Eevee, he started to run away, but Ash grabbed the eleven year old by the arm, stopping him.
"Are you the owner of this Eevee?" Brock asked the young boy, looking down on him (although mostly because he was the tallest one there).
"Y… Y… Yeah?" Mikey said.
"Did you abandon him?" Brock asked.
"Yes, but let me explain." Mikey said, but Brock did not let him explain, as he was busy trying to find a phone to try and call the nearest Officer Jenny.
"Just let the kid explain why he abandoned the Eevee, Brock!" Sabrina, Misty, Ash, Pikachu, and Vaporeon shouted at the squinty-eyed man.
"You see, my brothers, Rainer, Sparky, and Pyro, are the Battling Eevee Brothers, as they use all of the Eeveelutions…" Mikey started.
"What about the other five?" Ash asked.
"Alright, all the Eeveelutions that evolve via an Evolutionary stone. Anyways, the point is that they want me to evolve my own Eevee into one of them. But their is only problem with that."
"What is it?" Ash asked the young boy.
"I don't want my Eevee to evolve."
"I feel for you, buddy." Pikachu told Mikey, even though he knew that only Ash could understand what the hell he was saying.
"Yeah, Pikachu is right," Ash translated for his loyal partner Pokemon before explaining how he refused to evolve after his first battle against the third Gym Leader (and the first one beaten legitimately in the canon), and went on to win the rematch with Lt. Surge.
"If only my brothers will listen to me" Mikey said with a glum face. Ash got a confident look and decided that he would battle them. He told Mikey about his plan and he agreed. Then, he lead the group to his house on the end of the only road in the entire village. They went into the backyard where there were a lot of people and their Pokemon, most of them were stone-evolved Pokemon, of course. There was also a table with just about every evolutionary stone in existence. Misty took a Water Stone off of the table, hoping to evolve one of her Pokemon later on. Just then, three taller boys walked up to Ash.
"So," the blue haired boy told Ash, "Our brother sent here because he didn't want to evolve his Eevee and he said that unevolved Pokemon are just as good as the evolved ones."
"Well, yeah," Ash said, "Plus, some Pokemon you have to battle with before you can evolve them."
"Well, not those you can evolve with a stone!" the yellow haired boy said.
"Well, how will you teach them good moves after you evolve them?" Ash asked.
"TMs, duh!" the red haired boy with a deadpan reaction.
"Well, I am here to teach you three a lesson, uh, what are your names again?"
"I am Rainer, and these are my brothers, Sparky and Pyro!" the blue haired trainer, now revealed as Rainer, said to Ash.
"Alright." Ash said, "Anyways, I am here to teach you three a lesson! If I beat you three in a battle, Mikey's Eevee will not evolve unless he decides to evolve him in the future."
Sparky nodded before telling Ash, "And if WE win, not only does Mikey have to evolve his Eevee, YOU are going to have to evolve your puny Pikachu into a nice and powerful Raichu!"
Everyone at the party gasped and said, or at least thought, "You wouldn't!"
"Oh yes, we will!" Pyro said.
"Well, in that case, I want to take out all of your Eeveelutions by myself!" Pikachu said.
"Alright, you have yourselves a deal!" Ash said as everyone crowded around Ash and the Eevee Brothers to watch the exciting battle take place.
"Alright, Vaporeon!" Rainer said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a Pokeball, "Let's show Ash our super powerful water moves!" With that, a Vaporeon came out of his Pokeball before facing the crowd. Before facing Pikachu, he saw Misty's Vaporeon, and he thought that she was extremely beautiful and began to flirt with her, much to her discomfort.
Wanting to protect his girlfriend and begin the battle already, and without giving much of a warning to Rainer's main partner Pokemon, Pikachu used his Thundershock on the other Vaporeon as if to say to him, "hands off of Vaporeon! She is mine and mine alone, Gill Gasper!"
And with Pikachu's warning, the first round of Pikachu's match up against the Battling Eevee Bros began. Vaporeon shot back with a Water Gun, which Pikachu dodged with his super speed. Pikachu retaliated with a Thunder Wave, but Rainer told Vaporeon to use his most powerful Water type attack that he knows: Acid Armor (Even though, as everyone who ever used a Pokemon with that moves knows, is a POISON type move, and it is a stats move, not an attacking one.) Pikachu went through Vaporeon's defences anyway, and used Quick attack to deal a little bit more damage to the Water type Eeveelution. Rainer told his Vaporeon to try and knock the pesky electric rodent out of the battlefield with a Hydro Pump, and Ash told his Pikachu to try and counter said Hydro Pump with a Thunder. The two attacks collided, and the battle came to a standstill for a couple of minutes, with half of the people at the party rooting for Vaporeon, while the other half, including Misty, her Vaporeon, and Mikey, rooted for Pikachu to win the first round of the matchup. Eventually, the power struggle ended with Pikachu coming out on top, his Thunder attack getting to Vaporeon, causing him to get shocked, go high up into the air, to eight consecutive somersaults in the air, and fall straight back down to the ground, black from the terrible shock as opposed to his normal blue color.
Half of the people watching the fight began to cheer loudly for Ash and Pikachu, with Vaporeon being the loudest of them all. "Let's go, Pikachu!" she shouted before she got a good idea. Before Rainer got a chance to return his Vaporeon to his Pokeball, Misty's Vaporeon ran up to the unconscious Bubble Jet Pokemon, put one of her legs up, and started to urinate on him, much to the embarrassment of both of their trainers, and the amusement of everyone else watching.
"Alright, Pikachu," Sparky said, "You might have been able to beat my brother's Vaporeon, but there is now way that you will be able to stand up to MY Pokemon. He is faster than lightning, more powerful than a bolt of thunder, and a million times more better than you, JOLTEON, I CHOOSE YOU!" Out of the Pokeball came Jolteon, who immediately used his Quick attack on Ash's loyal starter Pokemon. Pikachu decided to use his Thunderbolt attack on Jolteon, but because he was an electric type just like him, it did little damage on the Mouse Pokemon. Sparky ordered Jolteon to use Pin Missile on Pikachu, but he had other ideas for the Lightning Pokemon. He dug down into the ground, making Jolteon look around wildly to try and find the Pokemon that he was battling. Then, suddenly, Pikachu came out from under the ground, catching Jolteon off guard and causing him to faint.
"H… How was Pikachu able to use Dig if it is not a Ground type?!" Sparky asked.
"Two words for you, Sparky," Pikachu said with his trainer translating for everyone, "Technical Machines."
Everyone laughed at Sparky and his brothers (bar Mikey), but stopped laughing when Pyro decided to send out his Pokemon to try and take out Ash's Pikachu: the super spicy, super hot, Flareon! Ash asked if Pikachu wanted a break from battling the Eevee Brothers, but Pikachu just shook his head, as he wanted to show them that unevolved Pokemon are just as powerful as those who did evolve. As Flareon came out of his Pokeball, he fired a powerful Flamethrower in Pikachu's direction. Pikachu used Double Team to dodge the attack and confused Flareon on which one was the real him. Pyro decided to encase all of the Pikachus in a Fire Spin to try and damage Ash's beloved electric rodent. The fire started to go around the Pikachus until one was left: the real Pikachu. Ash told his Mouse Pokemon to use dig to try and take out the final Eeveelution that he had to take out. The Fire Spin began to turn faster now, and it was trapping Flareon, the Pokemon who used Fire Spin in the first place! Pyro began shouting at his Pokemon to get the hell out of there, and the fire type did, just with some help from Pikachu's Dig that send them both into the air. Pikachu then slammed Flareon back down to the earth, and into the fire that HE created. While he didn't get burned, (he is a fire type Pokémon, after all, and they CAN'T get burned), the damage he got from the fall was enough to take the Flame Pokémon out.
"H… how could this happen?" Rainer said with a glum look on his face.
Sparky went up to Ash and shook the ebony haired trainer's hand, "Thanks for showing me and my two of my brothers that unevolved Pokemon can be just as powerful as fully evolved ones."
While Sparky was having his talk with Ash on the battle, Pyro was talking to his little brother about how he was grateful for deciding not to evolve Eevee, "Although me and Rainer and Sparky wanted you to evolve your Eevee into something, I can now see that we can TRULY have a complete set of Kantonian Eeveelutions. To bad we had this party just so you could choose what you wanted to evolve your Eevee into."
"Don't be upset, Pyro," Misty said, interrupting their little conversation, "At least most of your guests with Pokemon that evolve with stones got the chance to evolve their Pokemon," Then, she pointed out that there were guests with (at least) one of every stone-evolved Pokemon. "Plus, I am planning on evolving one of my own Pokemon right now." And with that, she sent her Staryu out of its Pokeball and showed the Star Shape Pokemon the Water Stone. The Water type Pokemon put one of its arms (if you could them that), and it began to glow and change. First, it changed colors from a dull brown to a more spectacular indigo color. Then, five more arms and the ruby in the center of its body became more complicated. The Star Shape grew to 3 feet and 7 inches, and a little over 176 pounds. When the light around Staryu faded, it was completely changed. It was now a Starmie.
"Congratulations on evolving, Starmie!" Vaporeon said to her teammate.
"Alright," Rainer shouted so everyone can hear him, "Now that Mikey decided what he wanted to evolve his Eevee into, nothing, how about a group photo, everyone?!"
Everyone cheered for Mikey and got into their positions for the picture that they were going to take. While everyone else was figuring out where to stand, Mikey thanked Ash for the help, and Ash just said, "You are welcome, Mikey"
And after some thrilling battes, one of Misty's Pokemon evolving, and Mikey's Eevee not evolving, the thirty sixth chapter of The Longest Road is now complete! Now, this was a pretty fun chapter for me to write. I believe that my skills at writing Pokemon battles and making them more detailed have gotten better, and that was the point of the chapter. That, and the fact that the episode that this was based on was called "Battling the Eevee Brothers" and Ash doesn't, well, battle the Eevee brothers (unless I was reading the title of the episode wrong all this time, and it was really THE BATTLING Eevee Bros). Anyways, next time, one of Ash's Pokemon will evolve (hint: it is one of the starters). Now, I would like to take time out of my busy schedule to thank those who favorited this story between last chapter's posting and this one: Superdude117, carlospino97.7, and systemofadown65. Remember to favorite, follow, and/or review if you have not done so already, as they mean a lot to fanfic writers like me. I will see you next time, it is your choice to evolve, and dare to Pokeship!
