#35: RE: OBJECTIVE TWENTY FIVE.
GIBRALTAR SPAIN
7: 03 A.M
The military plane landed at a secluded location. Prowl drove off the plane, Natalia following behind. He transformed. The flight had not been eventful. They had kept arguing on the location that Yuri had asked them to meet him. The way that they had been able to even communicate, was when the Agent suggested using the internet site of "Google Translate". There were some small errors in speech, but both were able to now get it. The Pilot had had a very entertaining flight listening in on them. Then the two had conversed on the evident fact that this could be a trap. They had reached nothing in that conversation. Truthfully, the Praxian was just hoping that his friend was still alive. While his exterior appearance may scream "Emotionless being" he wasn't sparkless.
There were no other beings in the vicinity at the moment, but that could all change. Natalie looked up at him, 'We need to get to the Gibraltar war memorial. Have you got a heading on that?'
The Praxian translated her English words. He nodded, then transformed back into his alt mode. She got in the drivers side, to keep up an appearance of normality. Yes, like an unknown police car to that country with a red headed female as a driver looked normal.
The roads were not very crowded, but they did get caught up in some traffic. They didn't speak to each other. Natalie had been sure it was the American war memorial in Gibraltar, but Prowl had disagreed with her on that point, stating that Yuri would've specified such a thing.
The human sighed and stared out the window as they sped down the road. She contemplated on the fact that if Prowl didn't dislike her so much, they would probably be able to work together very well. She scowled. Eliza was lucky.
The red head blinked in surprise. Was she… jealous of Agent Jover? Simply because she had such a good relationship with Prowl?
Jealousy turned humans evil, and she could not allow that. She had a job to focus on. And what did she care whether she worked well with Prowl? She didn't like him. Did she? Those thoughts were shaken from her mind as they pulled up outside the memorial. Natalie got out and looked around. So far, there was nobody here that she recognized.
The red head let out a gust of air, and leaned back against the Autobot's hood, much to his annoyance, 'Any sign yet?'
A grunt was all she got back.
'You could at least try to start a conversation.' The human huffed, while crossing her arms over her chest.
He didn't reply. It didn't seem worth it. Very soon, he'd see his friend. His Russian friend. That meant no more of this translating business.
His thoughts drifted to Eliza as the hour drew on. She had not seemed pleased by the fact that he was once again leaving without informing her before hand. Why she was upset eluded him though. From what he could discern, she only considered him as a friend, nothing more. Even if he wished otherwise.
He remembered the trip that they had taken, when he was trying to prove to her that he was sorry for his aft headed move. Albeit the last state they went to wasn't entirely great, but that was neither of their faults. Barricade was just unfortunately there.
He had been drifting away from the brunette since coming to Oymyakon. He had been so caught up in different "Activities" laid out by Yuri and Natalie that he hadn't really spent much time with her. The Bot was either in a different country, or she was stuck in the med bay thanks to a well placed shot.
Prowl couldn't clearly remember the last time they had simply been in the same room working on datapads. He knew that they fought much more now, and that really was not helping his chances.
And now – thanks to some unknown trigger – he couldn't even speak in her language.
Well, he was stuck in a different country with a human he didn't like, might as well start learning the English language. If it was going to take him five weeks like last time, it would be good to start now.
And believe it; translating Russian to English is very hard.
He began scanning the English dictionary, and comparing the words with their Russian counterparts. This was incredibly annoying.
Two hours later, Natalia had dozed off whilst standing up. It was a very comical sight for any passerby's.
Prowl had just reached the B-section of the dictionary. The A-section had been particularly long. A man in a black coat walked over and started eyeing the car. The Praxian noticed him instantly, and did a quick scan.
'Юрий?' – Yuri?
The man blinked, 'Prowl? You are speaking Russian?'
The mech could decipher that much to know this was the man he was looking for, 'Да. Существовал проблема с моим процессором, который вызвал мои файлы памяти для стирания любого и всех Английский язык воспоминания.' - Yes. There was a problem with my processor which caused my memory files to be erased of any and all English language recollection.
Ok, all Russian is now going to be in italics, as it will simply be easier.
'Ah… very interesting. I apologize for my lateness, I vas caught up in traffic.' Yuri grinned, 'I am sorry for leading you on to believe I had perished, but it vas zhe only vay zhat I vould be able to uncover zhe location for zhe device.'
'Do you have it?' Natalie was still asleep, so she didn't notice the man, or conversation.
'No. Zhat is vhat I need you for. And zhe voman.' He gestured flippantly at Natalie, 'It is in an underground cavern, on zhe coastline. Ve need to go zhrough zhere, but zhe only problem is zhat it is alvays submerged in vater. Zhat is vhere you help. Ve cannot go down to it, as zhe pressure vould likely kill us. But you should have no problem.'
'How is the piece of equipment protected from the salt water?' Prowl asked. Yuri hesitated.
'It is in an unknown element. Zhe people zhat first saw it, depicted rock paintings of it, stating it as a godly structure. Many submarines have been sent down to investigate it. Of zhe few zhat have survived, zhey vere not able to move it sue to zhe veight of it.'
'Then it must be a Cybertronain metal.' The Praxian surmised.
'Zhere is a possibility.'
'Huh, what? I'm up, I'm up.' At that point Agent Silverman jerked awake. She turned towards the man and blinked, 'Yuri?'
'Yes.'
'You're late.' She stated.
'Just be glad I came at all.' He muttered. Prowl mentally smirked.
'Ok, have you got the location?' She asked. He nodded, and explained all over again. The SIC went back to learning the English language, while the female asked questions, and the male answered them. Thirty minutes later, they were finished.
How does it take that long for her to understand what's going on, but it only took Prowl two minutes?
Sensing his thoughts, she rolled her eyes, 'Ok, so we need to get to the sea, Prowl goes down, retrieves the object, and we go.' Thank you Miss obvious.
'It is not going to be as simple as zhat.' Yuri stopped her. She looked at him for a long moment, before wearily sighing. It is never as simple as that.
'Ok, what, where and who?' To sum it up.
'Zhe Decepticons know about zhis. Zhanks to zhat leak in your ranks, zhey are also here. It could be anyone.' He translated it in Russian for Prowl.
The Praxian instantly began scanning the area they were in. No 'Cons. But that could change at any moment. He opened the doors for both humans. The organics looked at each other for a moment, before an angry rev of the engine had them getting in.
'Ok, ok, yeesh.' Natalia muttered. He simply blocked her out. He was really fed up at continuously being dragged away from his work at every moment. And while it was nice to be doing field work again, he still felt pretty guilty about leaving Eliza.
He hoped that she wouldn't be to mad.
OYMYAKON MILITARY BASE
9: 42 A.M
Well, she was mad.
Very mad.
And was currently looking into the faceplates of Optimus, Ratchet, Ironhide and Jazz in Prowl's office, where she was busy going over work. They had just arrived, and the Bots had been surprised to see her there, but not the Autobot with which she worked with.
'Uh… hey Eliza.' Jazz greeted. A frown was plastered on her face.
'Hello Jazz. What can I do for you?' It was asked very slowly, almost darkly. Optimus saw her evident anger, and decided to take the lead in this.
'We are looking for Prowl. He did not show up for a meeting.' The leader explained. Her frown deepened.
'Wow, so he didn't tell you guys. Harsh.' Her attention went back to the datapad, her thoughts on the Praxian that had ditched her. Slagging bastard.
Ironhide growled at the unfinished explanation, 'Tell us what?'
She still didn't look up, 'That he went to Spain with Natalie Silverman. He didn't elaborate on the reason. The son of a glitch didn't even bother to tell me. Not even a freaking message, can you believe it?!' She was shouting by the end.
Jazz blinked at her very angry outburst. While he understood Prowl's feelings towards the organic, he didn't realise how close she was to him. Well, at least this would make it a lot easier for the Praxian to tell her.
'He's… gone to Spain?' Ratchet actually sounded confused, 'Wasn't he in Prague the last time?'
'Yep. That's what makes it so despicable. He goes off one time, and now he's gone again, still not telling me. I thought that he at least had my confidence, but no!' She started to angrily type on the blank pad in front of her, 'The bastard was even speaking in Russian at the time. Only later did I realise that it was a processor glitch thing, but still.'
There was silence in the room, until Jazz activated a comm. line with his leader /: Do ya know why Prowl went off?:/
/: No. Last time it was a misunderstanding, but I believe that this time, he may have purposefully left out that fact:/
/: The slagger!:/ Ironhide interjected into the conversation /: He's abandoned us. He's with the 'Cons:/
/: No he aint:/ The saboteur defended his friend /: Prowl probably has a very good reason for goin' to that country. He just didn't say anything:/
/: When he gets back we should probably scan his processor:/ Ratchet suggested. They all flinched back at that.
/: Ratchet, while Prowl may have not informed us of this, he still has the right to explain. In the time that I have known him, he has always had a reason for his actions. I am willing to give him benefit of the doubt:/ Optimus made sure that his CMO understood. A crashing sound drew their attention to the organic. She stood behind Prowl's desk, one of the draws on the ground, its contents scattered on the floor. The contents being very… unusual.
Several datapads littered the floor where it had fallen down. The human had literally yanked it out, but of course, it was much larger than a normal desk, henceforth, more stuff. The familiar energon daggers were there as well, but this time, there were only five. The two electromagnetic pulse guns were there, including several human files, one on Yuri Arkhov, Natalie Silverman AKA – Natalia Schebschitz, Terry Jover, and Eliza Jover.
'Seriously? You have a file on me?' She demanded the currently non-present SIC, 'And what the hell are these datapads? The contents aren't from work.' Apparently when she is angry the human tends to speak aloud to express her displeasure. She picked up one and began reading it. Funeral for…
'Oh…' She trailed off, nearly all anger subsiding. The Bots watched her, entertained at her let down, 'Uh… I know why he went to Spain.'
'And that is?' Ratchet demanded, still amused by humans. They were so small and pathetic.
'He's gone to a funeral for his dead friend. You know the Russian guy.' It was good that Yuri hadn't elaborated on anything else in the invitation.
Understanding washed over them all, 'So he's got a pretty good reason.' Jazz smirked at the CMO, who began to un-sub-space a wrench.
'Don't get cocky Jazz.' He warned. The saboteur backed off.
Eliza sighed, 'Good. I thought it was something else that my sister had planned. Why did I have to be related to that crazy person?' She contemplated, 'Then again, I can't believe I bribed her for information.'
Jazz then noted the lack of four energon daggers, as his attention had been on the femme previously. There were nine of them to start with, 'But… what 'bout tha daggers.' That drew the others attention, 'There used ta be nine of them.'
'… Maybe as a precaution?' Ironhide suggested. There was a good possibility of that. Then again…
'Oh my God.' Eliza face palmed. When that Bot got back she was going to kill him. Those electromagnetic guns looked extremely tempting at the moment.
GIBRALTAR SPAIN
9: 57 A.M
They pulled up at the shore. It was a secluded location so no civilians would spot them. These were correct coordinates for the underwater cavern. The two humans got out, and Prowl transformed. It was nice not to be stuck in his alt mode.
He took in the view of the sea. It was rough, but not windy. He looked down at Yuri and Natalie, and somehow felt better that they were so much smaller than him. It was pleasant.
'How far out is this?' He asked the Russian. Agent Arkhov brought out a piece of paper from his coat and looked it over.
'About half a mile from this direction.' He replied. The Praxian nodded. Then they just waited for a while. Prowl contemplated over several analyses, while the humans just stood. Why he didn't just go immediately, we don't know.
He nodded again to the human, before scanning the depth of the ocean from the cliff face they were at. Sealing off any open compartments that water could get through, he dove from the top. He had done this a while back, in the Arctic Circle where he had landed. It's what had ended him up in Murmansk. Now, it was going to be getting him to a cave in the ocean containing a highly systematic piece of Cybertronian technology. One thought was going through his mind as he hit that water. Why the hell did he ever let those two humans talk him into anything?

#35: RE: OBJECTIVE TWENTY FIVE.
He reached the bottom fairly quickly. Cybertronians were very lucky in the fact that they didn't have to breathe. Now, seen as expenses prohibited them, he had to swim half a mile out into the sea. The people he hung out with sucked.
Of course, one had just been presumed dead, and the other was a stalker.
The SIC decided that he needed to use the human term "Rain Check" on his life. Am I using that right?
He continued in the – slightly unclear – waters for a while, scanners roaming for any Decepticon activity in the area. So far, nothing had come up, but that could be attributed to the fact that his sensors didn't work to brilliantly in over fifty thousand tons of water.
Yeah, it is really late where I am at the moment, be prepared for a lot of sarcasm. I also just watched "Two Broke Girls" and that kind of adds to it. Thank god Americans exist, or we would be subjected to so much British television. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but sometimes it just…
Back to the story.
Eventually, the Praxian became disinterested enough for his thoughts to roam. If this device was found, it would get the Autobots a ticket off this planet. He could go assist on Cybertron, where he would be able to perform his function as a Tactician. Being on Earth with only so many Bots doesn't really work in a battle that isn't particularly large.
He knew that it may be leaving Eliza, but he would be able to return. And if he just told her how he felt before such a time… maybe she'd wait for him.
So long as she doesn't kill him when he gets back from this mission. Though that would most likely be impossible as he was fifty feet taller than her and his armor was impenetrable to human technology. Unless he was knocked out, and all of his internal components were removed.
Not even Eliza could be that cruel.
He snapped out of those thoughts instantly though as he came upon a large… hole in the ocean floor. When humans say cave never, ever trust them on it. If he could, he would have released a vent of air. If he did of course, the water would leak into his internals and kill him.
Not some of the best pictures to be having while 'Cons may be lurking around.
This should be the right location though. Half a mile out. He went towards it, and saw a tunnel form part way down, out of view from his past location. Ok, so maybe a type of cave. A lot of this is coming from my perspective, not his, so bare with me.
Scanning the area, he detected a strong energy source. Going down there would be a big risk.
But one he was willing to take to see his home planet again.
While it might be selfish of him to totally disregard his Sparkmate in lieu of Cybertron, he wouldn't doubt that Eliza would do the same. They were both a combination of ideals, and pure out self preservation, as is every being in the entire universe. When they find a person who does not act out of self preservation, I shall bow down.
He followed the tunnel for a while, noting that it was slowly but surely getting smaller. This did not bode well for his door wings as they began to scrape painfully against the rocks. He prayed to Primus that the item was not much further.
Well, apparently Primus was in a mood that day, and two separate tunnels split off. He blinked. They had got to be joking.
Scanning both ways, it was hard to tell which one was the correct path. The energy source was very pronounced, but sis slant slightly off to the left. But then there were the variables, that the one tunnel may lead him an entirely different direction to that, while the other may simply turn off to the left slightly, which allowed for the possession to be there instead.
But – surprisingly – Prowl recapped on one of the rare times he had listened to Jazz's babbling. That time, was when the Saboteur had stated not to over think things, and to not obsess on the other problems. The Praxian had instantly defended himself, saying he did not obsess. That met a very amused and unconvinced audience.
So, he decided to take a page out of his friend's book. He was scared now. Why was he using so many human expressions? His first thought was that water had finally seeped into his helm and it was only a matter of time. His next thought was that the humans and saboteur were rubbing off on him.
He hoped that it was the first one.
Taking the left, he was presently surprised that the tunnel reopened into a much larger space, and that he could see the package. And it was nearly a hundred feet down. No problem.
He moved downwards, while a secluded part of his processor pondered the fact of why there were no Decepticons in the vicinity.
He grabbed for the metal box, noting that it was rather heavy, even for a Cybertronian. This metal must be extremely rare.
Sub-spacing it, he made his way back to the surface. Once again, he had to go through the painful process of his door wings scraping the side. But then it was over.
And he was immediately on guard. The energy signature that would be radiating from him, would be a homing beacon for the 'Cons. He had his weapons, but acid wasn't much use under the sea, and would likely end up eating away his armor to.
He had the energon daggers though. That was an upside to this never ending tirade of down sidedness. The mech had decided that since the last time he went pede to pede with a 'Con, he needed to be more prepared.
He saw the exit to this… cave. Resisting the urge to sigh in relief, he made his way out of it.
And straight into the way of a plasma barrel aimed at his helm. And the sneering face of Starscream behind it. Luckily, no others were around, and the Praxian assumed that the Decepticon second in command had once again "Gone Rogue".
Battle computer whirring to life, Prowl dodged the attack, and brought out his energon dagger with swift movements, moving to slice the main energon lines in the Seeker's neck.
Unfortunately, the 'Con moved away in time. Then they kind of just stared at each other for a moment. Fighting underwater was… just not working.
They would both be moving in slow motion half the time, and that would not get either of them any nearer to killing each other. So, taking the initiative as he was the only one that would be able to get them out without it being rather awkward, Starscream grabbed the Autobot, and shot out of the green water.
Once back on dry… air… Prowl instantly brought out his firearms to even the playing field. Even though the 'Con still held him by the door wing. Which was not a pleasant experience.
He stabbed the commander in his servo with the energon dagger and twisted it, eliciting a screeched howl from the Decepticon. But he did not let go. Prowl wouldn't be able to get a good shot in to stop the rogue SIC without killing himself as well, so he just opted for stabbing until he let go.
The Cybertronian was flying higher and higher into the sky, and as they were pretty far out, they looked like birds, so humans didn't care, 'Give me the Transwarp Generator, and I'll make sure your death is quick and painless.' Starscream demanded. Prowl didn't reply - mainly for the reason that he couldn't even understand him - and pulled the dagger out of the seekers servo to stab into his wrist, slitting energon lines. He didn't have a good view of the 'Cons chassis to try there, but he knew that it would be to well protected to get at.
Just then he stopped his ascent and grabbed the dagger, aiming at the Autobots neck. Prowl shielded instantly, getting it stabbed in his arm, before un-sub-spacing another dagger to attack the seeker again. He had four of these, he wasn't about to let one counter maneuver stop him.
Taking an opportunity, he grabbed hold of Starscreams helm, as the 'Con glared down at him. Using that momentum, he was able to get on the jet's back, where he proceeded to rip off his wings. This was something that Praxians and ariel Cybertronians had in common. Very sensitive wings, whether it was door wings, or just wings.
Starscream cried out in pain, and reached back for the Bot. Natalie and Yuri watched from below, using binoculars.
'Should ve help?' Asked the Russian spy. Agent Silverman shook her head, staring out of the small 'telescope'.
'Nah. I mean, what are we gonna do that'll help him?' She had a point.
Prowl was silently cursing them.
He moved out of the reach of the seekers clawed servo, and dug the energon dagger in his now very sensitive and open wing hole. The pain relays would literally be fried. And they were.
The 'Con's thrusters cut off due to the increased pain. They began to fall. From a really high height. I'm not gonna go into detail how high they were.
While the Praxian knew that this would eventually happen, he wasn't truthfully prepared for it. Re-gathering his wits, the Bot let go of the falling seeker, and began to free fall towards that evil, green water.
He watched as the Decepticon righted himself, and reinitiated his thrusters, as he was no longer able to transform into a jet.
So, he refocused his attention back on the nearing water, and closed off all open vents. He rectified his position into that of a full out straight plunge into the sea. And as he had watched many times, the troops at Diego Garcia dive into the potentially dangerous and roiling waters, he prepared himself for the dive.
If he ever got out of this country, he would never leave the comfort of his desk again.
He hit the water.
PLEASE REVIEW
Ha!
Ok, cool. After that I want to apologize so many times for the late update. I did not mean to keep you waiting for that time, but I started a few other Fanfics, and I just want to get a few ideas out of my head and onto the site. So I am extremely sorry. This is also a good time to mention that I shall be taking a two week break from Objectives, to focus on other things I am writing, as one is something I have been set up with by a friend on the basis of a dare – no wait, that was my brother as I hardly make contact with friends over the holidays. Or ever. For those of you that are still not on holiday, I am particularly sorry. Down in the southern hemisphere, we are currently on beaches, and laughing at – or envying in my case – the people who are currently in winter. Which is a lot of you. As for why my profile page says that I'm in Montenegro… I'm kind of remaining hopeful on that front. But nope, still in SA – South Africa. Sorry.
But don't worry. I am not giving up on this Fic. As it is the most successful one I have written, and I just went over some of my earlier Fanfictions, and let me just say – my god, no wonder I was not getting a lot of reviews. The earlier ones are terrible, I was still using POV's then and it just…
Anyway, I want to thank the readers who reviewed "Mistakes Can Be Positive" and I am glad to see that a lot who read this one, did review that one, so thank you. And the next chapter will be out tomorrow, which in my time will probably be about ten thirty, as quite a few of my readers live in the states, and this is when you guys are up, and I am not.
Well, after that particularly long explanation, I'd like to thank the people for reviewing last chapter:
2211Nighthawk
Guest
Gabriella5Greene551 – Um… I… uh… I don't know what you mean. You are telling me to read your story, and I understand that… I just don't get the first part. Or are you telling everybody to read your story. You really need to elaborate.
Neon (2) – Ah yes, the customary second review. And I am flattered, thank you. Have you ever considered getting an account on the site? Cool thing about the highlights. My hair is no longer than my ears. If that makes sense.
Guest – Yeah, I was kind of asleep at the time, sorry about that. Thank you for pointing it out though.
velociraptor4659 – Thank you. It was very hard to come up with ideas.
kittycatcalamity – Thank you very much, that means a lot to me. Sorry for leading you on the wrong way. It was… kind of a rookie mistake. Hoped you enjoyed this chapter.
And anyone else who has previously reviewed, or favourite/ followed the Fanfic. Once again, please review and you guys are awesome! Nearly too one-fifty and that just leaves a little bit more till two hundred! Well it'll leave fifty more, but still. Always remain optimistic!
Any requests will be greatly appreciated.
