Chapter 37

Merida

Legolas' POV

After nearly 3 years of not hearing from Maetharanel I finally got a letter. I smiled and set out for the mountain immediately. It took me a few days but I arrived on the 17th of April and stabled my horse. I saw a little girl, with wild red hair playing with a wooden sword. She was chasing a dwarf I had not seen in a long time.

"Kili?"

He stopped and looked at me. It took him a moment but then he smiled and grabbed the little girl.

"Legolas! It has been a long time."

"It has indeed. Where is she?"

The girl whacked Kili on the head and I smiled.

"Inside. And….Merida come back here!"

He chased after the girl and I went inside. Completely unprepared for the news Maetharanel would give me.

Maetharanel's POV

I was in the throne room when a guard came to me.

"My queen, he has come."

I straightened up and nodded.

"Send him in please."

The doors opened and Legolas walked inside. I smiled and he walked forward. I could not stop myself, I ran into his arms and kissed him. He held me tightly and kissed me back full force. When we separated he smiled at me.

"My love."

"I missed you so much." I said.

"I hope you know I will not leave this mountain again. You shall have to force me because I cannot stand be apart from you anymore."

I smiled and then someone squealed. Merida came running through the throne room Kili grabbed her.

"Merida! Your mother has told you not to run in here! It is dangerous and…"

He looked at me and I put my hands on my hips.

"~Is she Kili's daughter?~"

I took a deep breath and walked to Merida. I picked her up and she snuggled against me.

"~Does she look like she could be Kili's daughter?~"

His eyes went wide.

"~She is yours?~"

I nodded. I gave her back to Kili and they left. When I looked back at Legolas he looked heartbroken.

"I thought we said we would never be with another….."

"Legolas…..she is yours."

He looked at me in shock. Tears welled in my eyes.

"I did not know how to tell you! We had just decided to go our own ways for a while then I found out…..I am so sorry."

He blinked several times.

"For 3 years I had a daughter and you did not think you should tell me?"

"I wanted to! I knew I should! It was not until Merida asked me where you were that I knew I had waited too long!"

"Three years too long Maetharanel! How could you do this to me!? To her?!"

I cried harder and then I felt his hands on me.

"I think I can understand why you did this, but for six long years I was alone, waiting for the day I either died or you came back. I suppose I got more than I expected did I not?"

I smiled a little and he kissed me.

"Ewww!"

"Merida!" came two voice.

Fili and Kili had started to chase her.

"Merida come here darling."

She came running forward.

Legolas' POV

She had my eyes and my smile. Maetharanel knelt down.

"Merida…..do you remember when you asked when your papa would come back?" she nodded. "Here he is."

She looked at me with wide eyes. I had no idea how I should act. I never thought I would have children, but I knew I had to try. I knelt down and smiled.

"Hello Merida."

She smiled shyly and hid behind Maetharanel's leg. I chuckled.

"You are beautiful just like your mother, but you have my eyes."

She giggled and looked at her mother. Her hair revealed her ears, they were like mine as well.

"Merida….tell your papa what day it is."

"My birthday! I am 3 now!"

My eyes widened.

"Are you now!? So grown up!"

She smiled and giggled again.

"I have a wish. Do you want to hear?" she asked.

"Of course."

She moved forward and whispered.

"I want my momma and papa to be together forever."

I looked at her and then Maetharanel, I knew she had heard. I picked Merida up and looked at her.

"Do you want to know a secret?"

She nodded eagerly.

"Your papa loves your momma so much. He will never leave her or you ever again. Not without the two of you."

She smiled and looked at Maetharanel.

"Papa said he would stay!"

She smiled and looked into my eyes.

"I would not want it any other way."

I pulled her into my arms. I had my beloved Maetharanel, and I had a beautiful little girl named Merida. I had a family. I spent the day with my daughter, doing anything she wanted. She had so much energy, just like her mother. She reminded me a bit of Thorin in the way that she was so strong willed and even stubborn. She loved playing with that sword, but I could tell she was born to be an archer, just like her parents. Thrain loved his great-granddaughter, he spoiled her and she knew she could get away with anything with him.

At the end of the day when she finally went to sleep, I went in search of Maetharanel. I found her at her father's tomb.

Maetharanel's POV

I felt Legolas approach me and I smiled.

"No one has been able to sneak up on me in many years, no one except Merida anyway."

He chuckled and then came and wrapped his arms around me.

"Your father would be so proud of you, as would your mother. I know I am. Merida is a wonderful girl and she will become a fine woman."

I smiled and looked at him. I kissed him passionately and then remembered Merida.

"Where is Merida?"

"Fast asleep. She has so much energy just like you."

I smiled and pulled him to my room, well now it was our room. I closed the door and he started to kiss me. It had been so long since we had been with each other and I wanted this to be perfect. I rubbed myself against him and he started to suck at my neck.

"You know not how many times I wanted to just take a horse and ride to where you were." I breathed.

"I did as well. For so long…"

I kissed him, tasting his tongue and feeling his body against mine. I lifted his tunic up and tossed it aside while his hands started to work at the ties of my own tunic. I had longed to feel his skin on mine again. He carried me to the bed and I straddled him. I rubbed against him and he stroked my skin as he moved his hips with mine.

"Wait, is the door locked?"

"I do not…..why?"

I sighed and got off and went to flip the lock on the door.

"Merida tries to sneak in sometimes."

As I came back he kissed me and stroked the underside of my breast. I moaned into his mouth and he thrust his tongue down my throat. He pushed me back onto the pillows and I ran my leg up his. He grabbed my thigh and then pulled off my trousers. I pushed him back with a growl and took off his. I kissed every inch of his chest and then swirled my tongue around his navel.

"Maetharanel before we do anything else I need to ask you something."

I looked up at him and he reached for his trousers and then pulled something out. I gasped and covered my mouth with my hand.

"Maetharanel I asked you this years ago, but I am asking you again…..will you marry me?"

I smiled. It was the ring he had given me so long ago. I gave it to him so he would have something of me until we met again.

"Yes Legolas!"

He smiled and put the ring back on my finger. I kissed him and pushed him back. I kissed down his chest again. When I reached his erection I started to pump my hand along him.

"Oh Maetharanel!"

I closed my mouth around him and started to bob my head up and down. I did this until I felt that he was close. I straddled him again and guided him to my entrance. I slowly sank down on him and we both moaned in pleasure. I moved up and down and his head tipped back into the pillows.

"Faster Maetharanel!" he begged.

I went faster and started to lose rhythm. He grabbed me and through me down, never once leaving my body. He slammed into me hard and stopped briefly.

All I did was pull his lips right back to mine. He kissed my lips, neck, collarbone and shoulder. His warm hand lightly ran down my body making me shiver. I clasped his forearms and lifted myself to kiss his shoulder before falling back down. He pulled out of me after my second orgasm. I turned around and he entered me from behind. I cried out in pleasure and he started pumping in and out again. I was heading towards my third orgasm when He stopped and turned me around again.

"Every time I would look at Merida's eyes I saw you. I thought of you everyday Legolas."

"And I thought of you. My father told me more than once to go and see you, but I did not listen, oh how I wanted to." I smiled. "What was her first word? Merida's?"

I looked at him and smiled again.

"Papa. Because she would follow me to my papa's tomb and she heard me call him that. She learned to speak so quickly and then she was walking and running."

I told Legolas about all he had missed with our daughter.
