Chapter 35
She made it almost past the row of bikes before she heard him shout her name. She thought about not turning around but when she heard the words "I'm sorry" come from his lips, she spun on her heel.
"You're sorry!" she shouted back at him as he approached her. "That's it, you're sorry? I tell you I'm pregnant and all you have to say is you're sorry?" She was really yelling now, not caring that the guys had followed him out or that she could see Gemma coming out of her office. "You better get a new line because that one is old!"
"I'm fucking sorry Ellie. Don't ya doubt that I love ya and you're fucking important to me. The club comes first that's not going ta change love. And yeah my daughters - both of them are my fucking life. But Fiona isn't on that list Ellie, she'll never be above ya. And my bike is a piece of metal love, it's you that has my heart." Finishing his sentence, he walked to his bike and took out his knife. The rest of the Sons watched in horror as he slashed the leather seat and then the tires. Grabbing a nearby tire iron, he smashed in the headlight and took a swing at the gas tank. The damage done to his bike was surface damage that would be fixed by the end of the day but the fact that he'd done any damage to it was not lost on her.
As Chibs strode back to her, she stood with her hands raised to her mouth, gasping. The fact that he had done that to his bike in front of his brothers made her eyes fill with tears. As he dropped to his knees before her, the tears started to fall. "Ellie love I'm begging you to forgive me. I'm on my knees lass, you and Katherine are my world I'd be lost without ya. Please Ellie forgive me, you're right I am a bastard."
"Fuck, Chibs. How do you manage to make me hate you one second and love you the next?" Ellie said, giving an exasperated sigh.
"It's the Scott in me."
She let out a small laugh. "Get up."
"I'm forgiven then love?" he asked getting up.
"For now" she said, waiting for him to wrap her up in his arms. "I'm not done with you yet."
"A baby?" he asked, kissing the top of her head.
"Are you happy?"
"Of course my good sweet girl. Grand enough gesture for ya?"
"Yeah, you're getting pretty good at it, but it would have been even better if it wasn't Tig's bike you just beat the hell out of."
Thinking she was joking, Chibs pulled back from her and scrutinized the damage. She was right, in the heat of the moment, it was Tig's bike that he had damaged while his stood next to it whole. "Bastard probably deserved it for some reason or another" he said, grinning.
"Thanks asshole" Tig said coming up and clapping Chibs on the back. "Consider it a gift for the baby that I don't kick your ass right now." Going to Ellie he pulled her into a hug. "I can't believe you're stupid enough to let him knock you up again. Congratulations doll face."
She was then passed around for a congratulatory hug and even Clay took her into his arms with a "Congratulations sweetheart." Her emotional tears had started flowing with Tig's hug and now continued as she was faced with Happy.
"Don't fucking cry on me Cherry" he said, giving her a gruff quick hug. "It's just a kid, fucking pussies" he muttered, a small grin tugging at the corners of his mouth as he walked to his bike.
"Ellie I'm going to take your old man away because we have an important meeting but I promise he's all yours tomorrow" Clay said, motioning to the men to wrap up the little impromptu party.
Chibs scooped her back up in his arms and giving her a kiss while the prospect exchanged Tig's bike for a spare. "I'll see ya at the wedding love."
"You better not stand me up Mr. Telford."
"I won't Ellie, mother Gemma would have my ass" he said, giving her a playful grin as Gemma approached.
"That's right" Gemma said, pointing a well manicured finger at Chibs. "Oh baby congratulations." Gemma encompassed the girl in her arms. "Another Samcro baby." Putting her arm around Ellie's shoulder, she walked them away from the departing men. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I wanted to tell Chibs first."
"You told Tara" she said, a hint of jealousy in her voice.
"I went to Tara because she's a doctor. I wanted to confirm it and I didn't want to wait to get into my regular doctor. I promise next time I get knocked up you'll be the first to know. But don't plan on it for an extremely long time after this one. I might actually plan the next one."
"Babies are always a good thing sweetheart."
"Not when you've only had an eight month break from being pregnant. I was hoping for a couple of years, not really looking forward to swollen feet, and the joys of childbirth that are still fresh in my mind."
Ellie spent the rest of the afternoon getting ready for the wedding then waited for Tara to give her ride to the wedding. "So I heard you created quite the stir at Samcro today" Tara stated as she pulled out from Ellie's driveway.
"Pregnancy hormones were in full force today. I'll probably cry at this fucking wedding."
"Does it ever bother you that you and Chibs can't get married?"
"It did at first but I don't need it. We have Katherine, another baby on the way, and he loves me. Plus there is an ocean between him and his wife."
"Jax asked me to marry him."
"What? When?"
"The day he came home" she gushed.
"Why didn't you tell anyone?"
"With Opie's wedding and your baby..."
"Tara this is great news, I'm so happy for you! You need to share this with the club. Lyla's not going to care and don't worry about stealing my thunder."
"I kind of want to keep it to myself for a while, you know enjoy something without it being everyone's business."
"I know, what a bunch of meddling bitches those guys are."
"I actually meant Gemma. Can you imagine how she's going to take over this whole wedding?"
"Speaking of mother Gemma, I think she was hurt that you knew about the baby first, so make sure to tell her this news first. I told her it was because I went to you as a doctor, but I think she's jealous of the time we spent together when she was stuck at home."
"Got it. I know by now it's better to pacify Gemma than rock the boat, I'll tell her first."
"Don't mess with the bull or you'll get the horns."
"More like don't mess with the queen you'll get the thorns."
The men were waiting for them at the reservation. Chibs sat next to Ellie, kissing her hand as the vows were spoken between Opie and Lyla. Everything felt perfect in that moment. Ellie felt the peace and joy that radiated through the Samcro family at being whole again and having something to celebrate. After the ceremony, Ellie was seated at a table with Chibs who was proudly boasting to anyone who would listen that he was going to be a father again. If only Stahl could have been there to see her sitting around with the leaders of the Mayans, One Niners, Russian mob, and IRA. The intel Ellie could have provided just sitting there with these men would have blown her mind, but that was her past and this was her future. She had finally found a home had found somewhere to land.
Chibs leaned in and whispered to Ellie "Come with me love got something to show you."
She stood up and smoothed down her periwinkle blue satin dress. It was one of his favorites and one she knew she soon wouldn't fit into. She held his hand as he led her away from the wedding guests and further into the tree lined woods. The full moon was shining through the branches and the wedding music and laughter could be heard in the distance. He stopped and turned around to face her. "Ellie love, I'm never going to be able ta give ya what ya deserve. I'm probably never going ta give ya a wedding."
"I don't need that Chibs" she responded as he took both her hands in his.
"And I'm a real bastard sometimes. I'm going ta leave ya in the middle of the night when the club calls, but I promise that I love you and only you, there's no women on the road and there never will be. No other woman can ever hold a candle ta ya."
"Jesus Chibs I'm pregnant and extremely emotional right now, are you trying to make me cry?" she said, wiping away the tears that had started to fall.
"I just wanted ya to know what ya mean me ta me love, so here" he said, gently spinning her around.
"Oh my god Chibs, you are just full of grand gestures today" she said, staring at the tree in front of her.
"Got here early and had a little time on my hands. It's not what ya deserve, I know that."
"It's perfect Chibs" she gasped, running her hand over the tree trunk and feeling the carved letters. First the FT then the EM, Ellie's fingers slowly traced the heart they were encased in. Smiling, she turned back to face Chibs. "Fillip Telford I love you. I was pissed this morning and I'm probably going to get that mad at you in the future but that doesn't mean I don't love you or that I'll stop loving you." Going closer to him she leaned up to kiss him. "Chibs?"
"Yes love?"
"I'm not wearing any underwear" she said, looking up at him and giving him a playful smirk.
"Jaysis Ellie. Ya knew you'd get lucky with me tonight yeah?"
"Wishful thinking I guess" she laughed, her hands sneaking in between them and reaching for his belt and then zipper.
"Never wishful thinking with me lass"
He lifted her up so that her legs could wrap around him and walked her to the tree. Pushing her against it, his hands traveled down her body, hitching her dress up. He lifted her up further and braced her with his thighs as he entered her. He banded one arm around her waist to hold her closer to him while his free hand roamed over the satin material that covered her breast. Kissing her firmly, she gasped against him. Chibs always loved that little hitch in her breath that would come at the first feel of him. "Good girl"
The tree bark was scraping against the back of her neck, but she wasn't focused on the scratches she'd have, she was enjoying the feel of the man holding her now with his breath hot against her neck and the pleasure of him between her thighs. "Dammit" Ellie cursed as his phone began to chirp. "Please Chibs don't stop, I'm right there please."
"It can wait, I'm not going anywhere right now."
"Oh thank you, thank you, thank you" she screamed, gripping onto his leather harder as she writhed against him.
As she put herself back together, he returned the phone call that had come early. "Aye, on my way back now." Snapping his phone shut and grabbing Ellie's hand in his, he lead her back to the reception with a satisfied smile on her lips.
"You're going to ditch out on me aren't you?" she asked as the music grew louder as they approached the party.
"I'm sorry."
"You're getting good at this Mr. Telford."
"What's that love?"
"Doing something romantic, satisfying my need for you and then breaking the bad news."
"That works then?"
"Still not happy about you going but it softens the blow."
"I'll remember that for the future then, and Ellie I didn't do it because I didn't want ya mad at me - I did it because I love ya. I'll be home tonight I promise."
He led her back to their table and kissed her goodbye with the promise again that he'd be home. "Where'd you two go off to?" Tara asked, laughing as she pulled a twig that was stuck in Ellie's hair.
"To make up."
"And how'd that go?"
"Fantastic."
It was late when Tara dropped her back off at home, keeping Katherine at her house for the night. It was even later when she felt Chibs crawl into bed next to her, smiling when she felt his arm go around her and his hand splayed open resting over their unborn child. As he placed a kiss on her neck, she entwined her fingers in his. "Are you happy?"
"Aye, are you?"
"It's really soon, Katherine's not even a year old yet."
"She will be before this little one comes out."
"Barely."
"It'll be fine love, I'll be home more to help ya out" he said, giving her a quick squeeze before he started to drift off.
"Yes, I am happy."
"Then that's all that matters."
Chibs awoke the next morning to the sound of Ellie retching in the bathroom. Throwing off the covers, he went to the kitchen then back to the bathroom where he found her on her knees huddled over the toilet. "Oh love" he said sympathetically as he crouched down next to her shaking the tumbler full of ice and ginger ale. He hated the paled look that had washed over her normal perky complexion. She grabbed the glass from him and leaned back against the bathroom wall, sipping on the sweet liquid as he wiped her face with a wet cloth. Taking a seat next to her he asked "How much longer do we have of this?"
"I'm only a month along so at least two more months" she sighed, setting the glass on the tub next to her.
"Here, let me get ya back in bed then I'll go get the baby from Tara's."
She protested when he went to stand up. "No just leave me here I don't think I'm done yet. Besides the cold tile feels good."
"Alright come here then" he said, patting his lap as he stretched his legs out and waited for her to lay down. Stroking her hair as she rested in his lap, he put his hand on her abdomen and rubbed soothing circles. "Listen ya little bugger be nice to your mother no more of this."
"I think she heard you, the room stopped spinning."
"So ya think it's a girl then?"
"I think so, do you want a boy this time?"
"I don't care love, as long as it's healthy."
"All men say that but what they really mean is they want someone to carry on their legacy."
"Not me lass, I love the women in my life wouldn't mind having another one around here ta tell me what ta do" he said, returning her smile.
Hopefully Chibs was able to redeem himself with this chapter. Thanks again for the follows and reviews.
