The Gender-Swap Boot Camp Challenge: Elation
The blonde girl shouldered her broom as she walked out of the locker rooms and onto the Quidditch pitch. It was a fine morning, with the sun just rising over the tops of the Forbidden Forest, and Larissa would let it go to waste if she wanted to be on her top form for the upcoming Quidditch season.
She stopped for a moment as she heard the familiar sound of someone cutting through the air and turned her head upwards to sea a streak of gold dart across the sky. She scowled as she recognized the messy head of hair on the rider: Potter. Larissa was about to shout to the girl to get out of the sky. This was her fine morning and she didn't want to share this moment with anyone, especially her.
But then, the girl let out a shout of exhilaration as she soared above the stands before executing a perfect dive. Larissa could see the pure joy and elation on the Gryffindor's face and she felt her mouth relax into a slight smile. It was the same feeling she always got when she flew.
Larissa let out a contented sigh and turned around. She would leave Potter alone this morning. There would be other mornings where she could enjoy on her own.
But it seemed her movement back to the locker rooms had finally caught Potter's attention. "Hey Malfoy," the girl called out, "Out for a fly?"
Larissa stopped and looked up before gesturing towards the locker rooms and continuing her walk.
"Wait!" Potter called. "You're welcome to join me. There's enough sky for two."
Larissa thought for a moment. It was a fine morning, and maybe it would be so bad to share. She turned back towards the Gryffindor and mounted her broom before taking off into the sky.
