Time for Lucy to go home - remember that time is passing by in this one - Lucy spent 5 days unconscious, wouldn't speak to Myles for a week, they had 3 days together before the Hogan case that took 10 days start to finish and now there's this week - this happens over a week - I've summarised the week into a paragraph but the main focus is the Monday a week after the Hogan take down, Caroline had told her she can go home the previous week, this is the discharge x

In the days that followed after the Hogan case, Myles was happy that the Bureau had given the whole team the rest of that week off and were all ordered not to return to the bull pen until at least the following Wednesday. It had helped him out a lot because it meant that he could keep his promises to Lucy, Jack, D, Bobby and Tara had spent their first day off on the Wednesday helping him move all their stuff into the new bungalow and by 5pm that day it was all done and in its rightful place, of course he wouldn't mind if Lucy wanted to change anything when she finally come home but for now it was perfect. Thursday he was at the hospital all making plans and enquiries into how he and Lucy could go about adopting Suri and Nola, child services had come to see them both that afternoon and were happy when they were told they would be eligible, but the whole process could take a few months, which neither minded as it would give Lucy that time she needed to regain all her strength, Friday again he had been at the hospital with Lucy helping her during her physio, Richard had given her exercises to do at home and had spent time with them both making sure they were able to do them safely. Saturday and Sunday he had once again bought them both a fancy canteen sandwich dinner and took the day to practice the physio and relax in each other's company, watching old movies on the dvd player Myles had bought for her something they vowed to do every weekend from now on, even down to the cheese and ham or tuna sandwiches it would always be their special thing.

Monday had come around quick for them both as Myles woke that morning in the same place, he had for the past few weeks, in Lucy's hospital bed he couldn't help but smile, for tomorrow morning they would be in their own home, in their own bed and the next chapter in their life could start. His musings were interrupted by the woman he was thinking of as she woke

'Good morning my love' She smiled looking up at him

'Good morning to you to sweetheart, how did you sleep?' He smiled back

'A lot better with you here' she smiled hugging into him

'I know how you feel, I am ready to take you home though'

'I'm ready to go home, is my bag all packed ready?'

'Almost, just a few things left including him' Myles laughed as he pointed at the bear, he bought her, she hadn't spent a night without him yet, he was always there at her pillow

'Can't forget him, but I'll keep hold of him just so we don't' Lucy laughed when she saw him laugh 'He's a special part of you that I can always hold on to even when you aren't here, if you're on a case, or visiting Anne or can't be at a rehab session, I know that this bear will be and it will be like having you there always'

Myles couldn't help giving her the sweetest kiss 'Luce, I think that is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me or about me, thank you'

Lucy took her hand in his and placed her head on his shoulder 'I meant every word, I have been through the worst month of my life and even when I tried to push you away you never gave up on me, you have done so much for me, for those poor babies and I know how you helped Tara through that to, Bobby said you were a big support to her at Hogan's office, you may act all tough but we all know you're just a big teddy bear at heart and we all love you for it, especially me and I cannot wait to see what our future holds for us. I know you are going to be an amazing partner, husband and father to me and what ever little one we are blessed with. Its us now Myles, me and you, all our challenges we will face together, you give me the strength I need every day. I know I tell you every day' Lucy looked up at him and noticed the tears that were rolling down his cheeks, brushing one away with her thumb she smiled 'I love you.'

The kiss that followed had to be stopped quickly to both their disappointments but now was not the time, not in a hospital, not while she was still recovering and definitely not with Dr Caroline heading towards the room at that very moment

'Good afternoon you two' she smiled as she entered

'Good afternoon' they both answered almost in unison

'Lucy I am happy to tell you that everything is ready for your discharge. I know Richard has given you exercises to do at home but I must insist that these are done in moderation, don't push yourself to hard, a maximum of 3 sets per day. I have your medications here, a letter of discharge that needs to go to your local doctor, you have your crutches which you are to use until Richard says it is safe to not to, you will need to come in every morning at 9am for your 2 hour sessions and I think Richard was thinking of adding Hydrotherapy also but you can speak to him about that when you next see him, I think that would be a good addition to your recovery, but ultimately as your therapist he would know more than me. There is also your first follow up appointment with me scheduled for two weeks' time, I think that is everything so, whenever you are ready you can go.'

'Thank you, Caroline, for everything' Lucy smiled giving her doctor a hug, 'I don't know this is allowed but these are from both of us as a thank you for all your help. You haven't just helped me, you helped Myles to' Lucy watched as Myles handed her a box of chocolates and a bunch of flowers

'Oh, that is so sweet, thank you both, its been my pleasure to help you both. I have never seen two people care about one another and fight for each other as much as you two have. If there is anything, I can do for you both in the future please just call and Lucy please tell me when the funeral is as I would really love to come and pay my respect to your mother and grandmother, they have raised a wonderful young lady'

'Of course, I will' Lucy smiled hugging her once more

'And an invite to the wedding of course' Dr Caroline laughed as she headed for the door

'She'll be guest of honour, she bought you back to me' Myles winked at Lucy causing her to nod her head in agreement 'So Miss Dotson, are you ready to go home?'

Lucy handed her bear to Myles and with the help of her crutches stood up from the bed 'I am now' she smiled and with one hand on her back the two of them left the hospital and headed towards what would now be their new home.

'Its beautiful' Lucy smiled as she looked at the outside, the small porch area, the chair swing, the smell of the wild flowers filled her nose as Myles led her slowly to the front door'

'Why don't you have the honour' Myles smiled handing her the key to their home

Lucy unlocked the door and entered the house, Myles had bought all her favourite furniture from her apartment and there in a prime spot in the sitting was her beloved grandmother's old rocking chair complete with the blanked she had sewn for her when she was just a little girl

'Its perfect' Lucy hugged him tight 'I love everything about this room'

'If you want to change anything we can' Myles said 'Come on let me show you the rest of the house'

He continued to guide her around at her pace, the big kitchen that almost mimicked the one her mother had, had even down to the colour, the bathroom which had an open shower to make it easier for her but also a bath since he knew how much she loved them, two small bedrooms which he had left empty

'For our babies' he smiled as he continued the tour to their room, which he asked Tara to help with as he wanted it to be a surprise, big queen sized bed which Tara had decorated with rose petals, two tall lamps either side of the bed, a big closet with space for all their clothes and more and what she had thought was the sweetest thing of all a small chair in the corner next to a table that was filled with photographs of her mother, father, grandma and grandfather above he had had a print made which simply read 'Our family will always be connected by our hearts', it was as she looked closer that she noticed each photograph was indeed connected to another by a small heart charm, Lucy couldn't help but cry as she looked around. Myles took her his arms and held her close, he was happy that she was happy and no matter what the future held for them even if for the rest of their lives it was just the two of them he didn't care, life was perfect.
