Self-preservation was a natural trait people and civilizations had. Keeping oneself within that grasp of influence and power of stronger individuals and groups was unfortunately the way of survival. So, a marriage between one of the most prestigious names in Kyoto was linked to a dying family was something completely unnatural. Almost shameful and puzzling. People were wondering how much the Ootori family paid just to be associated with the Saito family. Imagine the rumors that came after word got out that Noriko was pregnant prior to their marriage and this stirred more trouble than Yoshio expected. It was a pity that the faith of the Saito family was intertwined with theirs. He expected whatever prejudice people had to die down at least a year after their marriage, but it's been much longer than that and their judgements have not changed one bit. However, today things took a sudden turn.

Yuuichi held Fuyumi's hand tightly. They were too young to understand the fundamentals of their circle. Innocence kept their views of society pure and kinder than it really was. The two pressed their ears against the thick wooden door. Hoping to hear whatever adult conversation his father was having.

"What's obaasama saying?" Fuyumi whispered.

Yuuichi gestured for his sister to lower her voice. He pushed his glasses and pressed his ear against the door. "I can't hear. Otousama's saying something about the price of something…"

Yoshio was having a private conversation with his mother-in-law. He was aware with the difficulty of the Saito family. Despite the terrible treatment from others, the Ootori Group flourished with his leadership. It overtook other families who used to be prominent players in the healthcare business. That was a feat no man has done. Now, all the best healthcare centers were affiliated, if not owned, by the Ootori Group.

Yoshio sighed as he heard his two children shushing each other. He noticed his mother-in-law chuckling lightly.

"Okaasama, excuse me. Please let my handle those prying ears before we continue." He stood up and opened the door. "What were you hoping to hear?"

The two children were frozen. They looked at each other slowly. Obviously, they were caught in the act, but even as children they had a few tricks up their sleeves. They weren't Ootoris for nothing.

Fuyumi was Yoshio's weakness. She knew she had it easier compared to her brother. She beamed her sweetest smile and hugged her father. "We thought you were planning a surprise. We wanted to help."

"Is that true?" Yoshio looked sternly at his eldest.

"Yes, otousama." Yuuichi gained his composure instantly. He cannot believe Fuyumi just lied to their father.

"Very well. I'll call you two later. For now, I want you to look after Akito." Yoshio instructed.

He called one of the servants to take the two to the nursery. The two bowed their heads in defeat. Their youngest brother was barely a year old and was always asleep. Muttering that staying with Akito wasn't that fun. He watched his two children leave and he closed the door.

"I apologize for the disturbance, okaasama." Yoshio bowed respectfully.

"That's no problem, my dear. Noriko was exactly like them at that age." The woman replied lightly. Fuyumi was almost splitting image of her mother. "Now, where was I?"

The woman paused. "Ah, I remember now. I need you to stop Noriko from snooping around. She's been spending too much time with Kazuyoshi-kun. Those two are up to no good. I found out they were trying to prove something about Kana-chan's death."

Yoshio stiffened. It's been years, but Kana Fujiwasa's death was still a sensitive topic for them. He understood how dangerous this was if Noriko went around the wrong places.

"I'll make sure to keep Noriko distracted."

"No. You will stop all her meddling, do you understand?" The woman placed her hand on Yoshio's shoulder. "You are aware with the narrow and almost strict qualifications needed to be part of this circle, aren't you Yoshio?"

Yoshio nodded.

"Just a single word from me and you will be part of the most exclusive circle in the country. It's not entirely bad, but it's not exactly the perfect system if I may say so myself. Ever since my husband's death…things haven't been easy. Considering that my daughter and I are the only ones left. This puts us at a disadvantage. I need you to take my place for the time being."

"I understand, okaasama."

"At the presentation party next week, I except you and your family to be at your best. All eyes will be on the Ootori family. Most especially you, Yoshio."

There was enough weight on his shoulders as it is, but there was this extra burden of him being the chairman now. It was starting to take a toll on his marriage already, but there's nothing he can do. Being chairman comes before being Yoshio. There are certain sacrifices most don't see with positions such as this.

Kotoko Fujioka sighed. She sighed long enough to hope that it would get rid of her problems. It was a good thing Ryoji was already home to watch over Haruhi. This case cost her an out of town trip to do some investigating. She recently found out that one of Megumi Miyura's former schoolmate lives in a small town a few hours from Tokyo.

"Why do people think I'm a detective?" Kyoko muttered. She pulled her jacked closer. "I'm a lawyer not part of the police force."

She has an anonymous client who just gave her more than enough money for her professional fees without even explaining in detail what had to be done. It was so secretive, and all her instincts told her this was a dangerous case. A part of her said to let it go, but one begged for justice.

After all, there were rumors that Koharu Miyura was abducted and replaced with someone else. There was a photograph from the previous private investigator who claimed to find where the woman was being kept. However, things were just rumors. Hearsay. That's it. Baseless rumors. This wasn't a movie where someone just has a magical twin and replaces a well-guarded woman. That somehow there was a drastic change in security and Koharu's personal assistant was found at Aokigahara two weeks after these rumors started circulating because of some American tourists exploring the said forest. Maybe the tourists finding the body was just pure coincidence, but the circumstance was suspicious. The only person who had any record of Koharu Miyura's schedule and contacts suddenly committed suicide. Things just don't work that way.

Kotoko paused to catch her breath. The uphill streets were difficult to walk on during the winter. She took out a photograph in her folder. According to the only remaining notes of Koharu's personal assistant, she met with a friend at this restaurant. Kotoko observed her surroundings, she was sure she found the place, but who would Koharu Miyura meet here? The place was empty.

It was just a regular neighborhood diner. It looked and smelled like it sold okonomiyaki for kami's sake. This wasn't exactly a posh specialty restaurant for Koharu to frequent. Kotoko walked inside and saw the wooden chairs, tables, and interiors. There were two men behind the counter preparing broth and grilled squid. They looked like a father and son duo.

"Irashaimase!" The men greeted upon noticing her presence. "What would you like to have, ma'am?"

"Do you have sukiyaki?" Kotoko replied. She placed her hand on her grumbling stomach as she sat down.

"Oi, otousan, one order of sukiyaki!"

She placed her bag beside her drank some service tea. Kotoko looked around discreetly for any suspicious characters, but there wasn't anyone. Maybe Koharu Miyura just went here for the food.

The younger man served Kotoko's meal. "Here's your food."

"Arigato." Kotoko took her chopsticks and inhaled the aroma of the soup was heavenly. The thinly sliced beef called her, and the soup had this rich balanced flavor. The seared marbled beef and vegetables was cooked to perfection. Maybe Koharu just really went here for the food. It was to die for.

One of the servers walked to a table at the corner of the room. "Oi, Gaijin-san! Where's your friend?"

Kotoko was about to put more meat in her mouth. Why would there be a foreigner in a place like this? This isn't Ropponggi or Akihabara. She turned her head slowly just to have a glimpse of this Gaijin.

A woman with blonde hair and hazel eyes sighed. "Who knows? She hasn't been answering my calls."

"It's been two months since she stood you up."

"I'm starting to get worried. She's been acting weird lately."

Kotoko knew from her records that Koharu studied abroad for a certain period. Was this the friend she met? Kotoko glanced several times at the gaijin. Long wavy light blonde hair and eyes that had the color of honey. How did this woman find herself in Japan? It wasn't very common for westerners to migrate to this country.

"Can I help you?" The gaijin smiled at Kotoko. She could feel the lawyer glance at her several times.

Kotoko bowed her head several times. "I'm sorry. I just thought you looked like someone I knew." She wanted to look into the files quickly. There were some photos Koharu had with her classmates and there was a chance this woman was in one of those photos.

"Ah, is that so."

Kotoko did what every polite Japanese citizen would do. "I'm Fujioka, Kotoko. Pleased to meet you." She handed her business card to the foreigner with both hands.

"I'm Sakamoto, Lisbeth. Pleased to meet you." Lisbeth replied.

"Sakamoto?" Kotoko was taken aback. "I'm sorry to ask but is there a chance that you're a hafu?"

Lisbeth shook her head. "No, my husband is Japanese."

There was something about Lisbeth that just makes people open up and talk about their feelings. She was warm and almost nurturing. The entire time they spoke Kotoko felt like they've known each other for so long. Her entire persona was just so light and refreshing. She found herself being so comfortable with Lisbeth that she even mentioned Haruhi and Ranka.

"Ah, I have a daughter around that age as well." Lisbeth beamed. "What a coincidence."

"I wish I could stay home more often for her though…it's difficult to balance work sometimes."

Lisbeth placed her hand over Kotoko's. "It's fine. My husband is also very busy with work, but these children understand. If communicated properly, they can comprehend that much."

"You think so?"

"I know they do." Lisbeth reassured. "My daughter misses her father a lot. Since he has such a strict work schedule I have no choice but to stay at home. There was one time he called to apologize since he couldn't make it on time for her birthday party. I thought she was going to burst into tears, but when I heard her say that's it's okay and she understands I think I was the one who found tears in my eyes. My husband went home as fast as he could after work and he was the one crying as he hugged her." Lisbeth laughed as she recalled her husband's expression.

"My daughter's the same as well. All fathers are weak against their daughters."

Lisbeth sighed. "I agree with you. I wish you could have met with my friend…She would definitely agree with everything were saying now."

Kotoko was sure that this was the friend Koharu met with. She looked around before saying anything. "I hope you don't mind me asking, but is there any chance you know this person?" Kotoko took out a photo of Koharu Miyura and handed it to Lisbeth

"Yes, I'm supposed to meet Koharu-san here actually. Did something happen?" Lisbeth took the photo and looked at Kotoko with a worried expression.

"Unfortunately, you're one of the last people she's seen." Kotoko whispered. "I'm currently handling a case regarding her disappearance."

Lisbeth blinked slowly. "Koharu…disappeared?"

Kotoko nodded. "Do you want to go to a more private place, Sakamoto-san? There are some things that can't be heard by just anyone."

Lisbeth realized that there was a chance this woman was telling the truth. "I don't live too far from here. Shall we have some tea there?"

Before Kotoko and Lisbeth could leave the restaurant, the chef blocked the main entrance and closed the restaurant. Kotoko could feel her heart race. Were these men related to Koharu Miyura's disappearance?

"Sakamoto-san!" Kotoko took Lisbeth's hand as she tried to run to the employees exit. She looked around for any weapon she could use. The first thing Kotoko saw was the chopping board and when the younger chef tried to block their way, Kotoko slapped the man's face using the wooden board.

The younger chef took out an emblem he was about to say something but Kotoko's adrenalin made her hit him again with the chopping board.

Lisbeth held Kotoko's arm. "No! Wait! It's fine, Fujioka-san."

The older man helped his companion stand and they bowed deeply. The young man stood up ignoring the throbbing pain on the side of his face. "Mizushima-sama is safe here."

Lisbeth sighed. "Otousama promised not to have me followed."

"It wasn't the chairman's idea, Mizushima-sama."

Kotoko froze. "M-mizushima?!" This foreigner was a Mizushima?! Koharu Miyura has been meeting with a member of the Mizushima family?! She spoke so freely to a member of the Mizushima family?! She spoke to someone who was part of a family that controlled only most the train system in Japan, owned one of the largest banks, and several prime lots in Tokyo and Kyoto.

"I apologize, but for security reasons I'm not allowed to reveal my identity to those outside the family." Lisbeth bowed.

The two men went on their knees and bowed. The older man spoke first "We apologize for concealing our identity as well, Mizushima-sama, but it was for your own safety. Please let me introduce myself I'm Abe, Daiki. I'm in charge of your safety and this is my subordinate."

"I'm Abe, Hideki." The younger man introduced himself briefly.

"We've heard about Miyura-sama's disappearance. There's been problems in the company right now. It seems like the Fujiwasa Clan is getting a larger share than expected. There's news about a rift between the board members too." The older man replied.

"Among those that serve the family, there are rumors going around. Although there is no evidence that Koharu Miyura is a different person, those who know her well realized this sudden change."

"You're trying to tell me that someone sent the files to Fujioka-san?" Lisbeth clarified.

"Yes, Mizushima-sama himself made sure the case would go to Fujioka-san."

"You know otousama?" Lisbeth asked Kotoko.

Kotoko nodded. She did know the chairman of the Mizushima family in a sense. Before working at the small law firm near her house, she quit her job at the Mizushima Corporation. It was a high paying job, but the stress was too much. Being a corporate lawyer was not her calling at some point she didn't feel her purpose but after going back to the basics where she could help people was where her heart raced. She never expected to be associated with their family again.

"If he asked to look into this, then it's true." Lisbeth looked troubled. "It really is possible. Koharu has a twin sister. I've never met her, but the last time we spoke she was excited about how her sister was going to work for the family."

Lisbeth couldn't believe what was happening. Back in college, she never knew about Koharu's lifestyle in Japan. They were roommates back then. When they graduated, they went their separate ways and when Lisbeth moved back to the country she decided to give her friend a call. What she didn't expect was how her husband and Koharu were related. It shocked her father-in-law and husband when they realized the two were close friends. However, considering their arrangement, they were asked to keep their friendship discreet for security purposes.

"Do you know where she is?" Lisbeth asked.

Kotoko took out her folder and showed whatever evidence she had to Lisbeth. "We have a couple of leads. A private investigator will visit some of these areas to check. I'll go to one of the warehouses as well."

"I see, if there's any way I can help please don't hesitate to call me." Lisbeth took out a business card and handed it to Kotoko.

"I guess this is goodbye then." Kotoko smiled.

"Goodbye for now." Lisbeth smiled back. "I hope we can meet soon when things mellow down."

"Yes, I think our daughters could be good friends."

Kotoko and Lisbeth bowed at each other and parted ways. It was the last time they saw each other. The next time Lisbeth saw Kotoko was during her funeral. Lisbeth watched Kotoko's husband carry their daughter out of the cemetery from a distance. She clenched her fists because she knew why Kotoko died all of a sudden. She had a feeling Kotoko found Koharu. That was the only explanation of the suddenness of everything.

Although it was just a gut feel for Lisbeth, it was true that Kotoko found Koharu, however not a single word was spoken about this meeting since Soichuru Fujiwasa threatened to kill her family if she said anything. But since the Fujiwasa family didn't want loose ends, they knew they had to kill the lawyer discreetly. When Kotoko Fujioka found Koharu, she was kept in the warehouse for almost two days. Then Soichuru made sure that Kotoko was taken cared of slowly as she got treated at the hospital. What Soichuru didn't know was Kotoko hid all files of this case to protect all those people related to Koharu so he couldn't trace anyone back. All Kotoko did was leave a code and a locker number with Ranka. That was the pivotal move Kotoko did to protect not just her family, but Lisbeth's family as well. Little did she know that code and locker number would end up with Kyoya Ootori years after her death. Little did she know how much leverage this move of hers would have caused. How after 20 years her efforts would have borne fruit.

Haruhi looked at her study. Kyoya gave back her mother's files yesterday. He thought it was more appropriate if it were with her daughter. Haruhi took a look at her mother's notebooks and case notes. She wasn't sure if she was imagining things, but the paper still had the faint lily scented perfume her mother used before.

There was also a diary that gave Haruhi a different perspective of her mother. Here she saw how her mother felt when she met her father. She saw how Kotoko married a younger man even against her parent's wishes. She really was a stubborn woman.

Tamaki sat quietly beside her. "To think this was just sitting in a train station for so long."

Haruhi felt Tamaki kiss her forehead. She placed her head on his shoulder. "Yeah, I'm glad Kyoya found it."

There was a silent and almost solemn moment as Tamaki and Haruhi recalled Ranka and Kotoko. Up to this day her parents were still there to help her at every step of the way. She held her mother's notes tightly. Everything was complete. They can finally close the first series of cases on the allegedly missing person: Koharu Miyura. The rest of the crimes that came after that will follow shorty. Haruhi opened her laptop to start her report. It won't be long until 'Koharu' will find herself in court.

"Ha-ru-hi…"

The sudden change in mood made Haruhi very suspicious. "Yes, Tamaki?"

"Remember Renge's throwing a costume party this week?" Tamaki grinned. "The theme just makes my heart flutter."

Haruhi felt a familiar sense of exasperation coming. Things were suddenly not looking too good on her part. "That's nice."

"And you know what the best part it?" Tamaki clasped his hands together.

Haruhi shook her head slowly. "I have no idea."

"We have matching costumes!" Tamaki took out a rack filled with Victorian era clothes. "I was so excited I couldn't even choose our outfits, so I bought everything instead!"

Tamaki lifted Haruhi off the ground and went around in circles. "Otousan and okaasan are going to have so much fun today!"

Haruhi tried, but failed to free herself from her husband's grip. There was no choice but to accept her fate. She knew marrying Tamaki meant doing things like this. She'll never let him know how much fun she has anyways. He might do it too frequently than her sanity permits.

Koharu watched the soon to be husband and wife eating peacefully. Well, it was all surface value. Probably in Megumi's mind, she was already thinking how she could strangle her 'mother'. Kyoya spoke of the usual pleasantries. He kept the conversation to mundane topics.

"How's the preparations for the wedding by the way?" Koharu asked. "I've been feeling under the weather lately, so I couldn't be as present as I wanted."

"It's no problem, okaasama." Kyoya replied. He was on full host mode. "What's important is your presence on our special day." Kyoya briefly looked at Megumi.

Koharu waved her hands. "Finally, I feel like my job as a mother is complete. All these years I've told Megumi to find herself a decent, stable young man who can support his family. At first she wouldn't listen to me, but you see dear…how nice it was of you to come to your senses? Kyoya is the perfect match for you."

"I am honored, okaasama."

"My, I'll never get used to being okaasama by someone like you." Koharu smiled.

"Shall I call you oneesan, then?" Kyoya joked lightly.

"Oh dear, no. What would people say?" Kohaur covered her mouth with her hand as she playfully tapped Kyoya's arm.

"Okaasan, you don't look like a day above forty. Relax." Megumi reassured. "If it helps, I asked Kyoya to make sure you're stress free since…well…you know. I never expected such a thing." Megumi looked down.

Kyoya heard his phone ring and he looked at the caller id. "Please excuse me okaasama. I need to take this."

"Go on Kyoya. Business doesn't stop." Koharu motioned for him to go quickly. She sipped her tea and looked around the area to make sure no one would hear her speak. "Are you still talking to that old hag?"

"Obaasama? Of course I am." Megumi hesitated for a moment. "If I sever ties with her, there's no way for us to achieve our goals. Who's going to handle the family business?"

Koharu nodded in approval. Finally, her daughter realized what she was working for.

"How dare she send a lawyer with a case against me? Who does she think she is?" Koharu rolled her eyes. "Well it doesn't matter. That woman is going to be history soon, Megumi."

Megumi found herself laughing. Not at the joke, but at how Kyoya was on full charm mode. He was trying to win her mother. The conversation was positioned just to make her mother feel good. To show off the cracks. She never played psychological games because she wasn't too fond or adept at it, but Kyoya did it like it was an extension of himself. Like manipulating others was easy. Too was almost frightening at a certain point. It made her see that Kyoya was a great ally, but an even greater enemy if provoked.

Kazuyoshi propped himself up. He was sent to one of the Ootori resorts because of the doctor's orders. It's like as if there was an exclusive council of elders. He looked at Yoshio and Shizue Suoh. They were having a meal as they watched the afternoon drama sitcom.

"I understand that plenty of things have changed." The woman looked through all the documents she needed to win this fight. "But it's just like you said…the company is at a fragile state, but I'm left scarred for life."

"We all have scars-"

The woman took her glass and threw all its contents at him. "What do you know about scars?!"

"It's vital that we take note of every aspect and see what can be changed and what has to be retained." The male actor continued to read the newspaper.

"I'd hate to break it to you but Yuuta-kun is Akihiro's daughter."

Yoshio observed the three so engrossed with the show as they stared at the screen.

Shizue gasped before having some commoner instant noodles. "That makes him the heir."

"I didn't see that coming."

Kazuyoshi looked just as engrossed with the TV show. "It's taken a completely different turn from last week's episode."

Julia nodded. "Things are finally getting interesting."

Yoshio had mixed emotions. He wasn't sure whether to be impressed with the program's ability to capture a diverse audience or if he should be worried that these people take the time each week to watch a TV drama series.

Shizue wiped her mouth with a handkerchief. The beef noodles had this superb artificial flavor to it. She'll have the servants buy some more from the grocery. "Well, that concludes today's lesson. Mizushima-san, I suggest you keep everything we've said in mind."

"Of course, Suoh-sama."

"I'll escort you out." Yoshio followed Shizue out of the room.

Kazuyoshi glanced at Julia. The poor girl was fumbling with the hem of her skirt. He knew that there was this relief since finally, she will be taking her rightful place in the family business. But it would cost her a lot.

"Ju-chan, what's wrong?"

"Is it wrong for me to say that I'm scared?" The pressure only stared to set in. After Haruhi brings the case to court, she will be the new head of the family. The first step was to expose Koharu's crimes, another lawyer was handling the issues of Koharu with regards to the corporation, then lastly Haruhi brings up the Mizushima case. She only had a few months left to prepare.

"It's normal…but there's something I want you to never forget." Kazuyoshi felt like he was talking to Megumi. The two were practically the same age, but their lives have gone at completely different directions.

"Never forget Julia. I know it contradicts what being a chairman is. I know Ootori-san and Suoh-san are telling you otherwise, but there's a reason why Ryusei and ojiisan wanted you away from the stigma of our family. They wouldn't gamble the future of our family just because they felt like it." Kazuyoshi reassured. "You were just a girl with only a name and a handful of supporters…some of those had their own agenda, but that was that. Everything that has happened now was your own doing. In a short span of time, you managed to get the company your family worked so hard to build on your own right, not because of birth or lineage. But because you won in fairly. I can't imagine how difficult it is to work behind closed doors."

Kazuyoshi could see fear in her eyes. It wasn't fear of responsibility, but it was the fear of not living up to everyone's expectations. There were certain experiences where he could be of use, but there were some things where Julia was on her own.

"Don't worry Ju-chan. We'll be there for you when the time comes." Kazuyoshi comforted.

Yoshio knocked and gestured that it was time to leave. Julia bowed before she left the room.

"Now I know how it feels like to be in a drama sitcom." Kazuyoshi said to himself.

Benibara, Chizuru, Hinako, and Mei sat there. For once, they couldn't comment or say a word. There was just pure silence. It was weird for Julia to be so heavily guarded, but it must really confirm the rumors. However, they cannot…no. They didn't want to believe it. They knew Julia and the kind of person she was. She would never bring herself to such a position. Which of these lies and deception held Julia closest to her biggest secret?

"Damn…the Ootori Private Police are in every corner." Mei walked faster. Uncomfortable with the number of escorts that went with them to one of the exclusive high rise residential buildings of the Suoh family.

"Have you spoken to Julia lately?" Chizuru asked. "I couldn't get ahold of her as much."

"She mentioned about wanting to speak to us." Benibara massaged her temples. Whatever suspense Julia was creating was surelygetting to her. She wanted an explanation instantly.

"Let's just trust Ju-chan, okay?" Hinako looked straight. If there was one thing she learned from Mori it was how things weren't always as they seemed. She wasn't going to let gossip taint her views just yet.

Another bodyguard opened the door and brought them to the living room. "Ootori-sama, I believe Julia-sama has a few guests over."

"Bring them here." Yoshio sat on the couch with his legs crossed.

Mei felt her throat dry a bit. Kyoya's intimidating nature runs in the family.

"Please, have a seat ladies." Yoshio gestured. "Would you like some tea or snacks?"

"We just had something to eat before going here. Thank you for the offer Ootori-san." Benibara replied courteously.

"Come on now. I'm sure that's a lie." Julia walked in ang hugged her friends. She hated to admit how much she missed their craziness. "How are you?"

The girls expressed how they were doing just fine, but they were more concerned with Julia.

"Actually, I asked all of you to go here because I need to tell you something important." Julia looked briefly at Yoshio.

The man nodded. He knew how much this meant to Julia. Benibara tried to stop her leg from shaking. Questions ran quickly on all of their minds. Was Yoshio Ootori going to divorce his wife to marry Julia? Was Julia already pregnant with his child? Was she informing them of their engagement?

"There's no easy way to say this." Julia took a deep breath. The whole Mizushima thing was still a foreign concept to her. It felt unreal, but that was already her reality.

"You guys know I entered Lobelia with my father's surname."

Chizuru nodded. "Yes, Sakamoto. How could we forget that?"

"Well, my father's original surname was hidden and now I chose to inherit his name and all the responsibilities that come with it." Julia said slowly.

The four women were confused.

"So I don't get it." Mei finally burst. "There's nothing wrong with changing last names. You're still you. Julia is Julia. I don't care what your last name is."

"Even if it's Mizushima?" Julia asked.

"Wait…" Benibara paused.

"Thank goodness!" Hinako broke down and hugged her friend. She understood what Julia meant. Yoshio must be protecting her. "I thought you were getting married or something with all the rumors going around between you and Ootori-san."

"It's fine, Hinako." Julia found herself crying as well. Like a huge weight was taken off her shoulders. She wanted her friends…her family to know before anyone else.

Then it slowly hit Hinako. "Wait. Mizushima? As in the Mizushima?"

Julia nodded. Chizuru saw the nervousness eating Julia from the inside. She knew why they were called. It was her call for help. Finally, Julia was leaning on them for support. Hinako and Mei saw the façade dropped and hugged their friend. The air was much lighter already. It didn't even take a second for Chizuru and Benibara join the hug as well.

"So are you trying to tell me that you never told us you were a rich person?" Mei raised a brow.

"It's not like I knew the whole time." Julia wiped her eyes. She felt more like herself again.

"You have no right to make fun of those pompous rich people anymore." Mei started hitting Julia's arm out of love and frustration. "So you're not going out with him?" Mei asked whispered while looking discreetly at Yoshio

"Of course not." Julia felt slightly disgusted. That was the image she intended but hearing it from her friends made her cringe a bit.

Yoshio watched Julia act like herself for the first time. She was lucky to have such good friends. He was about to discreetly take his leave.

"By the way, thank you, Ootori-san, for keeping her safe." Benibara said.

Yoshio bowed politely and left the apartment. He had to let those girls catch up. They spoke for hours and it mostly consisted of Julia explaining everything that has happened. It was a session of full disclosure turned slumber party.

"Is there anything else you'd like to ask?" Julia gazed at her friends. She never thought that telling them the entire story would be the most difficult thing she's ever done. It took a lot of weight off her chest though.

"Please, keep this information between us. I don't want anything to happen to you."

Hinako hugged her kohai. "Ju-chan, I wish you could have told us sooner. We've got your back, okay?"

Benibara followed and crushed the two with her tight grip. "My maiden…this is the perfect opportunity for being reborn."

Julia and Mei looked at each other briefly.

"You are just like a phoenix about to be reborn! A grand entrance must be made." Benibara proclaimed.

Chizuru and Hinako smirked. Julia needed an entrance worthy of a White Lily Society Member.

Chizuru went around Kaoru's apartment looking for her earrings. She couldn't remember where she placed it last night It wasn't like her to be this energetic. Though, if what Benibara hinted was true, then things made sense. There were other alumnae who knew or at least felt the shift in the tides. That news felt like Pandora's box so she knew better than to pry it open. It would surely get her involved in matters that are beyond her. Right now, she must focus her current project.

"Chizuru! Have you seen the news?" At least, this was what Chizuru deciphered from Kaoru's words. He was too busy brushing his teeth.

"Not yet…what's wrong?"

"Just open the T.V. now." Kaoru said from the bathroom.

Chizuru sighed. She took the remote and the first thing she saw was the breaking news. As if things weren't out of control lately. Koharu was seen storming out of court as she was chased by several reporters. Haruhi exposed the human rights cases Koharu Miyura violated as well as her involvement with illegal businesses. The press was flooding the Fujiwasa family asking for comments, but it seems as if Soichuru is completely ignoring every single comment. He was affected by this whole thing, but based on the news

"We will continue to fight for those who cannot speak for themselves. Plenty of men and women have been victimized by Koharu Miyura and we are not afraid to expose the other crimes committed by the Soichuru Fujiwasa as well." Haruhi spoke to the press.

Kaoru sat beside Chizuru "Wow, I never thought I would see Haruhi being all stern like that.

"Well, things have been pretty messy lately." Chizuru sank into Kaoru's arms.

"Haruhi's trying her best to get Koharu in jail, but even those the most heinous crimes just don't get convicted that easily considering her position." Kaoru spoke as he watched Haruhi's determined face. He looked at the pile of mush seated beside him. "What's wrong?"

"Crowd control has been difficult." Chizuru sighed.

Somehow the schedule of one of their idols were leaked so there were unusual number of fans who already camped out the night before at one of their shooting locations for that day. Kaoru held Chizuru's hand.

"It's going to be fine. You already asked for extra security." Kaoru comforted her. They continued to watch the news. The final hearing was about to happen and that would determine what happens to Koharu. He didn't notice how he spaced out and got lost in his thoughts until he heard Chizuru's voice.

"You're worried about Hikaru, aren't you?" Chizuru placed her head on Kaoru's shoulder. "As far as I know, everything's ready."

"Well, the wedding is in two weeks." Kaoru shifted his weight to get to a more comfortable position. "Everything is almost perfect. I can't believe Kyoya-senpai really found a way to make a last-minute switch."

"If you think about it, everything's almost the same except for the groom and a few changes with the seating arrangement." Chizuru held Kaoru's hand tightly. "It's going to be fine."

Months of playing this game was enlightening for Julia. Placing herself at a position easily 'disposable' brought out plenty of realizations.

First, she learned who her potential allies were. Some of them were unexpected individuals. Then, there were those who exposed their true colors. At least, she knew how to handle things. Her situation was delicate. She understood that much. She was in a position where too little action does nothing, but too much may cause more harm than good. It was frustrating to be bound to such a circumstance. She saw the extent of what she could do, but she wasn't allowed to do anything.

Second, even amongst the rich there are social stratifications. To think that "mistresses" get their own table at events. It's almost unheard of. Like they got their own table so other women could scoff at them.

Third, most of the people in this room were two-faced. With Koharu's case making all the noise with the press, there are plenty of whispers going around. No one gossips more than these rich people. They had such an ornate way with dealing with scandals and rumors like this. It was non-confrontational but you can feel the tension the entire time.

Then the last thing she learned was: she can only have so much tolerance for useless, shallow small talk.

"Oh yes, I really do think that fabric suits you." Julia beamed at the poor 30-year-old model who was engaged to a much older businessman. She couldn't remember the girl's name. The self-absorbedness of this woman has overwhelmed her.

"Where did you find such a material?" Julia asked. It was a lovely piece of cloth of you were aiming to wear something that looks like you're not wearing anything.

"I got it handpicked by Megumi Miyura herself." The woman placed her overwhelming chest on the table.

"That sounds amazing." Julia tried not to stare at the cargo on the table, but she couldn't help but wonder if having such large breast hurt the woman's back already. It must be a pain to run, walk, sleep, but it's like having a biological phone holder while on the couch. It also seems like a good snack catcher. She'll never drop nuts, popcorn, or dried fruit with those breasts ready to potentially save food.

As she engaged in a shallow conversation with those from her table, it wasn't difficult to hear Koharu's insanely loud voice from where Julia was seated. Obviously, the woman wanted her to hear something.

"I hate that woman." The woman with the large breasts said. "She thinks she's all that, but really is all talk. I'm not surprised her own mother-in-law started a lawsuit against her. Imagine someone like that marrying into their family. I never imagined that she had the audacity to even be associated with that Fujiwasa man."

"It's almost shameful but look at her pretend nothing's wrong." They all glanced discreetly at Koharu as she socialized with the most elite individuals in the room.

The other women from the table started to nod in agreement. It was the anti-Koharu fan club. Julia wondered if she should invite Hikaru over to their table. He'd fit right in.

"I'll be sure to remind that girl with her place." Koharu smirked she made sure her voice was loud enough for Julia to hear. "She'll come begging for forgiveness."

Julia ignored Koharu and concentrated on the game a few tables away from here. Yoshio told her to observe. With the trial for Koharu Miyura coming, people were taking sides already.

"She has no place in this world. To think someone like her has the guts to even show up here. It's almost atrocious." Koharu stood closer to the anti-Koharu fan club table. "Oh my, it smells like trash."

Julia smiled back and discreetly handed Koharu a piece of gum. "It's for your breath. Maybe all that talking makes you smell the stench." She turned to the other women who were also staring at the scene Koharu made. A couple of guests were whispering amongst themselves.

Luckily, Yoshio said nothing about playing games with Koharu. If that wasn't allowed she would have already died of boredom in this party.

"Don't you just find it redundant that people just insult you with the same thing over and over again?" Julia laughed lightly. "Honestly, couldn't they find anything more substantial than something in the past? How about something I did today?"

The women seated with Julia bit their lips and stopped themselves from laughing so hard. That insult must have burnt through several layers of Koharu's makeup and skin.

Koharu looked at the audience she attracted and was caught off guard with the insult and just walked away. She walked away with whatever respect she had left.

Hikaru and Kaoru saw the scene unfold and heard Koharu muttering under her breath as she walked away with her wounded pride. Their self-control was currently on overdrive. That insult was already making them cry. Their insides hurt. Their cheeks were burning. They never thought that such a classic insult could be delivered with so much finesse.

"Wow…she must be scared as shit knowing that Koharu's out there to torment her." Hikaru mocked. "Imagine that."

"I am trying." Kaoru smirked.

As far as they're concerned, Julia has had it with Koharu. She obviously wasn't playing nice anymore. Julia knew the fight was not yet finished. The thing with Koharu Miyura was, she is unpredictable, volatile, and she does anything to get what she wants. However, she gets easily distracted with the little things. Petty concerns take up much of her time and it distracts her from the bigger picture.

Julia took another look at Yoshio's table. She noted a few eyes staring at her. Those were either allies or enemies. Now that the intent has been shown, shifting through them would be much easier.

The main attraction of this "ball" was having a famous circus group perform. Everyone was asked to step outside to watch their performance. Julia maintained her distance from the crowd and watched on the other side of the foyer.

Yuzuru Suoh nonchalantly stood beside her. "Things aren't looking up for Miyura-san. Every time she deals with a single enemy, she creates two more."

A brief smile made its way to Julia's face. "It's hard to imagine how she hasn't noticed."

"Though, Koharu's game is the least of my concern. I'm more interested in what you're playing." Yuzuru said as he sipped his wine. There was much more to this woman than she let on. "After all, this is just a boring game that is just like a wheel. It continuously spins. Families rise and another falls so another can family rise to take its place."

Julia smiled. "I won't ride this cycle. I'm not even going to stop it."

Yuzuru raised a brow and look at Julia with much interest. "So, what are you planning to do Julia-sama?"

She had an expression on her face. Even Yuzuru could not put his finger around it. How amazing was it for a person to hide her true form in innocence as she did?

"I'm going to get rid of it."

Yuzuru smiled. Her actions made the playing field a lot more interesting.

"How about you? Where are you placing your bets?"

"You've had my vote from the very beginning." Yuzuru looked at her briefly. "There are just certain things I don't agree to with your method of handling this take over."

"Greater risks give back greater returns." Julia knew he didn't agree to her exposure to Soichuru. No one in the right mind would agree to it anyways.

"Ah, speaking like a true businesswoman already." Yuzuru sighed. "It was very clever of you to create that scandal though. You sold your reputation, tarnished Kyoya-kun's as well. You truly are giving it your all."

"If it keeps Koharu busy, then so be it." Julia said.

"You seem to be taking your time. The board is already questioning Koharu-san's capability of running the business. Why aren't you doing anything yet?"

"Well, I guess sometimes we fight the current, but for now it's important to flow with the river." Julia mused.

Yuzuru raised his glass and smiled. "I cannot wait to do business with you, Julia-san."

Julia was about to leave earlier than most guests. She was surprised that one of the board members from the Ootori Group decided to invite her as well. She walked out of the function room and made her way to the exit.

"Are you going to get ready to get to your hotel room? Who are you going to please this time around?" Koharu raised a brow. Blinking slowing as she snorted. "You weren't content with Yoshio Ootori so you were moving onto Yuzuru Suoh? I'm not sure if I'm going to be disgusted or amazed with your ability to move around these men."

"With all due respect, Miyura-san. I'm sure you have better things to do than to observe my every move." Julia replied.

"So who's your next target after Suoh?"

"I see the human rights cases against you are taking its toll, Miyura-san." Julia ignored her previous stated and decided to add salt to Koharu's wound. There was nothing as painful as bringing up a scandal.

Koharu was about to slap Julia but Yuzuru Suoh stood right beside Koharu. "I see you two must be talking about something interesting."

"Oh, it was nothing Suoh-san." Julia said. "Miyura-san was just simply directing me to where the restroom was."

"I see." Yuzuru looked smugly at Koharu. "Well, it seems like I'm intruding, but I think it would be best if we weren't seen together, Miyura-san. I'm not sure how I should feel about my daughter's case against you. I want it to be false accusations, but at the same time if there are any injustices that are truly happening, then I wish for those to be exposed."

Koharu glared at Yuzuru. "Well, I don't care if that lawyer married your son, but no one accuses me of such crimes."

"Of course. Ah, good evening Ootori-san." Yuzuru smiled politely and bowed.

"What are you doing with these two ladies over here?" Yoshio asked directly.

"Always straight to the point." Yuzuru chuckled. "You never waste any time at all, don't you?"

Yoshio just looked at Yuzuru. "None at all. I try to make all my waking hours productive."

"I wouldn't expect any less from an Ootori." Yuzuru joked. "Well then please excuse me, ladies. I must take my leave. It was nice seeing you around Ootori-san"

Yoshio bowed briefly and stood silently between Koharu and Julia.

"Yoshio, why don't you teach your mistress to learn her place?" Koharu smiled. "I know we're going to be family soon, but there are some things I cannot tolerate. I hope none of your sons take after you in this respect."

"I would say the same to you. Please consider it a privilege that we are not calling off the wedding considering the position you're in. Your family will need every support and you know who can offer such things."

"A-are you threatening me?" Koharu looked at the man with disbelief. "I can't believe this."

"I'm not threatening you, but I am reminding you that this is not the place to bring up personal agendas." Yoshio stated calmly.

"I'm not having any of this. My lawyers will hear about this. Don't forget we are also part of the board for your company. The next time you threaten me I will-"

Yoshio ignored Koharu and called for one of his bodyguards. "Next time you hear Miyura-san speak, please escort her out of the premises and deal with her accordingly." Yoshio glared at the Koharu. "Now, what you heard was just a threat. I'm sure you're bright enough to comprehend the difference."

Koharu stood there with her pride torn into pieces. She watched Yoshio and Julia enter their car and leave and she stood there like an idiot. What was with these men and Julia? What did that woman have to her name? She was nothing. Absolutely nothing. She had no worth in this situation. It didn't take long until her chauffer arrived.

"Take me home." She said without even looking at the man. "Make it fast. I want to rest."

She sat in the comforts of her luxury car. Then everything fell into place. How did she not see this sooner? She wanted to scream and rip Julia to pieces. Yoshio and Yuzuru weren't enchanted by Julia. They were establishing their place once she takes over. The loose end she's been looking for has been there the entire time. How could she miss have missed it? She needed to fix it before things are beyond her control.

"I changed my mind. Bring me to the Fujiwasa mansion."

It was rare for Kyoya to be invited for tea by Shizue Suoh herself. He found himself in one of the rooms he rarely enters. It's considered as holy ground for some as not everyone is given the chance to have tea at Shizue's personal tea room. The sound of the bamboo leaves swaying and the scent of jasmine looming in the air. How the Suohs maintained this much greenery in the main mansion was a mystery for Kyoya. He looked at the Edo period armors were on display. He knew that Tamaki and Shizue had the love for the samurai era in common, but to think their hobbies stemmed this deep was almost disturbing.

"I hope you enjoy jasmine and plums" Shizue said as she prepared the tea herself.

"It's an honor to be in your presence, Suoh-sama." Kyoya bowed before Shizue gave him the signal to sit across her.

"Ah yes, the Ootori charm." Shizue chuckled. "I've seen three generations of Ootori men and you were all bred to be so amiable at first glance."

Kyoya smiled. "We always try to maintain such an environment. It makes things pleasant for all concerned parties."

"So, I've heard." Shizue carefully placed the cherry blossom plums on the table. "I never got to thank you properly for what you did. Tamaki and Haruhi are lucky to have someone like you watching their back." Shizue sliced the plums as she spoked. "Ranka spoke very highly of you. Yuzuru as well."

"I only did what was necessary, Suoh-sama. Your kind words are unnecessary."

Shizue almost scoffed. "I can see Tamaki's influence on you already…I really think he idolizes you. Whenever we meet, if he's not talking about his wife and children, you're the next person he talks about the most. If I wasn't mistaken, back then all he talked about was his best friend back in high school."

"We do go back a long way. I was the original wife until he found someone more suitable." Kyoya commented.

"So you were…but there's one thing that I couldn't piece together in this situation." Shizue went into business. The mood changed instantly and there was a certain glint in Shizue's eye. The pleasantries were officially over. Kyoya was practically laying the foundation for people. He was controlling their actions without them even noticing. Shizue knew he would not harm Tamaki, but she can never be too sure. In this sense, Kyoya was ambiguous and difficult to read.

"You enjoy the game." Shizue offered Kyoya some tea. "I didn't expect that from you. And you play it well."

"I'd like to think so too."

"What do you plan to get from all of this?"

"Mostly the same things people are looking for." Kyoya said before sipping some of his tea.

"And these are things you have already." Shizue raised a brow. "Unless there's something you're hiding."

"None at all, Suoh-sama."

"I don't quite understand why you're so heavily invested in this case. A bit too much for someone who isn't directly related to the issue. If I'm not mistaken, this is something between your father and well…those people." Shizue said with a hint of disgust. Unable to even utter Soichuru's name.

"Initially, I had the same thoughts. It wasn't my fight however, they have proved to go against my own interests as well."

"I see." Shizue placed her cup on the table. "I'm sure you understand what this means, Kyoya-kun. There are certain risks and gambles when playing games with Soichuru Fujiwasa."

Kyoya just managed to get an arrest warrant for Soichuru Fujiwasa for the murder of Ranka Fujioka. It was quite eventful how it happened. Koharu was in Soichuru's home and the police arrived to arrest the man. There was also an "anonymous tip" to one of the newspapers and the press that something was going to happen. Kyoya didn't do this alone thought. Yuzuru said he would add a bit spice to Kyoya's dish, but he didn't know what kind of spice Yuzuru was talking about until he saw the news last night.

"Things are looking bleak for the Miyura and Fujiwasa alliance. Haruhi's clipped Koharu's wings and you just practically mutilated the Fujiwasa Clan." Shizue felt at ease, but in all her years in business she learned that one should never let their guard down. "Though I hope you don't take this as a sign of your victory just yet. Those two have a lot of politicians behind them. They weren't the only ones benefiting from those imports and exports."

"I understand. I've taken care of that as well." Kyoya had Ritsu Kasanoda to handle those transactions. Although as the head of their gumi, he is a kind and loyal man, he becomes a fearsome enemy that even politicians won't just go against the Kasanoda Gumi at a whim.

"Koharu is still a free woman. I suggest you keep close watch of her." Shizue warned. "I wouldn't think she has much options at this point, but you mustn't underestimate what she can do."

Shima entered the room to inform Shizue about the news. "Madame, I am sorry to interrupt your conversation, but there's something you need to see."

Shima switched on the television and the news about the bombings in Akihabara station was being broadcasted.

Kyoya stiffened. Tachibana reported that Julia was going to be in that area for the day. There was this knot in his stomach. He could hear his phone ring and he excused himself to answer the call.

He looked at the screen to see Hotta calling. "Yes, is there anything wrong?"

"Kyoya-sama, may I ask to go to the Akihabara General Hospital?"

"Of course, what's wrong?" Kyoya asked.

Hotta wasn't sure how to say this, but there was no easier way to say it. "Tachibana got caught in the explosion."

"Very well. Update me once you see them."

Kyoya placed his phone down and made another call. "It's me. Make sure Tachibana gets the best treatment possible."

Kyoya could hear the number of casualties from the television and a familiar emotion surfaced. It rarely surfaces, but this time he felt it. The guilt left this terrible feeling on this stomach as he listened to the news. This was the price he paid for waiting and not doing anything. He knew that it was only a matter of time before they did something this big. The Private Police and Kasanoda Clan already gave him intel on this on two separate occasions. He wasn't certain with the validity of this information since it was almost too drastic and implausible, but he miscalculated. Koharu Miyura was a loose cannon. Megumi said that something was off with her mother the past few weeks. He never imagined her actions to be this erratic.

"I finally understand, Kyoya-kun." Shizue stood by the door. This was where her age and experience played a huge advantage. "I never thought you of all people would go this far for that."

Kyoya smirked. "It was just as I said earlier, Suoh-sama. I only did what was necessary."

"It won't be easy to convince the board, but I'm sure she doesn't need any convincing." Shizue smiled. "I know you're probably anxious, but she's safe. Just a minor injury from what I've heard."

Kyoya forgot all about the pleasantries and ran to his car. He had to make sure that Tachibana was fine.

Haruka buried her face in her hands. She felt partly responsible for what happened. Koharu used her name to pull off this stunt. She wasn't vigilant enough to check the accounts. "Everything I did, was for the protection of my family. But Koharu did unspeakable things…things I cannot even imagine." Haruka sighed. "That was my biggest mistake. My lack of imagination. Koharu is a monster. She's a disease and I regret ignoring her and allowing her to gain power."

She never thought the woman would dare cause such an act. "Koharu said if she doesn't get the Mizushima power, she'll do something…I just never expected this."

The casualties were at an all-time high. Something just snapped with Koharu. She was being completely reckless. To the point that police were able to narrow her down as the main perpetuator for the whole charade. It wouldn't be long until there was an arrest warrant for Koharu's attempted murder, plunder, and corruption. Her crimes were slowly exposed. The woman wasn't making things easier. Running away was the fastest thing she could have done, but to cause a terrorizing event to harm civilians was beyond anyone's imagination.

Julia clenched her fists. Here she was being treated for burns, cuts, and a sprain. She was far from the explosion when it happened in the station, or else the results would have been devastating. She heard the news about Tachibana. Even some members of the Kasanoda gumi were there. What Mei told her was true, Tetsuya almost lost his left hand.

Yoshio and Haruka heard her side of the story. It seems like they were worried for nothing. It was more of a self-inflicted wound more than anything.

Julia was buying her morning coffee, she was close enough to feel a bit of impact from the station and this caused her to trip on her own feet, pour coffee all over herself, and then one of the damned vases fell on her. She was the only casualty in the coffee shop. Most people were just minorly shaken.

"She literally needs a bodyguard." Haruka massaged her temples.

"What do we do about Koharu now?" Julia asked.

"You let the law deal with her. I'm sure your lawyer is already picking up whatever she could find." Haruka closed her eyes. If this was Koharu's way of getting back at them, she was doing a good job. The Company was partly liable for the damages incurred.

"She's making it too easy though." Yoshio crossed his arms. "It's unlike her to be this direct. I feel like there's something more behind this."

Kyoya arrived just in time to see Tachibana being treated for burns and a fractured leg at the emergency room. What he didn't expect was what happened to Tachibana's wife who was also around the area. They didn't know that Tachibana's wife was in the shopping complex closest to the explosion. Hotta already told him about what happened to Tachibana's wife. Kyoya closed the curtain behind him to give them some privacy.

"Kyoya-sama, I'm afraid I have to retire soon." Tachibana sighed as he looked at his bocchama.

"Tachibana…I…I'm sorry." Kyoya bowed all the way down to his waist.

"K-kyoya-sama. Please. You did nothing wrong." Tachibana was shocked by the gesture. "I was surprised to see my wife here in the hospital as well."

"You can take a leave for as long as you need, Tachibana. You can still come back." Kyoya sat on the stool beside the bed. "I'm sorry I put you in danger."

"Kyoya-sama, I'm far too old to be your bodyguard. I've served you and your family for the past 35 years and I regret nothing." Tachibana looked at his hands. "I have gone past my prime and it's time for you to hire younger men to protect you. Hotta and Ajima will still be there to watch your back, sir."

Kyoya sat there in silence. He respected Tachibana's decision to retire.

"If I may speak informally Kyoya-sama, but you've been like a son to me. I watched you grow up as if you were my own child. I'm proud to say that I've seen you grow into the man you are today." Tachibana placed his hand on Kyoya's shoulder. "Thank you for everything, Kyoya-sama."

Kyoya nodded. "You're still welcome to visit the mansion as a guest."

"Thank you, Kyoya-sama."

Kyoya extended his hand. "I'm not your employer anymore, Tachibana. You don't need to address me as such."

"It doesn't feel right to address you so informally." Tachibana smiled.

"Hotta, Ajima you can come inside of you want." Kyoya said.

The two guards who were guilty of eavesdropping went inside. Kyoya looked at Hotta. "I guess in terms of seniority, you're the head of security now."

Hotta bowed. "Yes, Kyoya-sama. Is there anything you need me to do?"

"Make sure Tachibana and his wife are well-taken cared of." Kyoya smiled briefly at his three bodyguards. "Ajima, let's go. We have some business to attend to."

Tachibana watched his bocchama leave. "It will be awhile until he settles down."

"You said it." Hotta found himself sniffling. "It was nice working with you, Tachibana. Be sure to visit us from time to time."

Koharu was waiting in her apartment for her way out, it wouldn't be long until Haruka figured out she did it but considering the chaos she had caused she knew the Mizushima board was going to crumble. If she was going to fall, she was taking everything with her. Not even Julia can resurrect what she did. She continued to comb her hair as she stared at her reflection. There was nothing like these ivory combs that kept her at peace.

"Okaasan, why did you hurt me?"

Koharu stiffened as she heard a familiar voice. She saw her son staring at her. She could see a boy standing behind her reflection.

"Why did you hurt those people?" The boy moved closer.

"Stay away from me!" Koharu took the comb and threw it behind her. She could feel her body shake. Her heart was racing, and she took deep breaths to calm herself down. It was all in her head. None of this was real.

Koharu got dressed and ready for all the photos that were going to be taken. The least she could do was look beautiful while her lawyers sorted things out. She was assured by her connections in the government that all she had to do was to probably stay abroad for a few weeks and once the issue has died down, they can go back to business. With all eyes on Soichuru's hearing today, she can take her leave discretely.

She was about to check if she had everything she needed before her trip to New Zealand. She went around the room until she heard someone knock. Koharu was startled and walked to the door.

"Yes, what is it?" Koharu asked. All her anxiety disappeared when she saw a delivery boy with an envelope in hand. This must be the documents she asked for so she can go through customs quickly.

"A package was delivered for you, Miyura-sama." The man said. "Please sign here."

Koharu quickly took the envelope and closed the door. "Just you wait, Julia-san. You think you may have won this time, but I'll come bac for you." She smirked to herself as she opened the envelope.

"What's that okaasan? Did you get a letter?"

Koharu took a deep breath. She wasn't acknowledging the voices in her head. These are all just hallucinations. They're not real.

When Koharu opened the envelope, her world stopped. It was a copy of Haruhi's next move against her. It was a case against Eri Handa. Behind was a letter from the head of the Mizushima family stating that her crimes will be pardoned if she testifies against Soichuru for today's hearing. She will be allowed to live outside Japan in peace. Eri shook her head. She wasn't going to stoop this low as she looked at the official seal of the Mizushima family with Julia's name and signature at the end of the document. She wasn't going to let them get what they wanted.

"Okaasan, where are you going?" The little boy looked at his mother as she walked aimlessly around the room. "Why is your name written in this piece of paper?"

Eri read the document that exposed all her lies from the start. Somehow Haruhi had all of Eri Handa's crimes. She read each page one at a time and it was all there. Her charade was over. She the document slid off her fingers and she opened the door to the balcony. She walked and made her way to the edge until she felt weightless. Voices of her son and sister filled her head until her body hit the pavement, and everything just went black.

"All rise." A woman announced

Tamaki stood up and watched the as the Judge went enter court room. He looked at the jury and all the men and women involved in the case. Plenty of familiar faces were there. The Ootori family occupied almost an entire row. The Hitachiin family was present as well. Tamaki looked at Honey and Mori seated at the back as well. The entire board of directors of the Mizushima was also there. Misuzu, Mei, and Kasanoda were there as well. Tamaki's hands felt cold as he watched Haruhi and Haruka sit on one side of the room directly facing Soichuru Fujiwasa and his lawyer. "She's going to be fine." Anne-Sophie held her son's hand. "Haruhi knows what she's doing."

Tamaki nodded and watched the police usher Soichuru Fujiwasa to stand at the podium in the center and took off Soichuru's handcuffs.

"You have been brought here on the suspicion of murder for Ryoji Fujioka, Kotoko Fujioka, Sadanobu Mizushima, Ryusei Mizushima, Lisbeth Mizushima, and Lilian Mizushima. How do you plead?"

"With regards to the murder of these individuals, I am innocent your honor. I have nothing to do with their deaths." Soichuru stated.

"I would like to remind all the individuals here that no lies will be tolerated in my courtroom. Now, you may proceed with your questioning." The judge gestured for Haruhi to start.

Haruhi stood up with Soichuru's lawyer watching her every move. It wasn't just having the evidence in court that brought a lawyer's victory. There were mind games behind each step.

"Your honor, I would like to begin with the murder of Koharu Miyura. As we all know, Koharu Miyura was known to have committed suicide a few days ago your honor."

"Suoh-san, I am well-aware of the current events. It is proven that Koharu Miyura died of suicide which is seen by the surveillance cameras in her home."

"Yes, but your honor that woman is not Koharu Miyura, but Eri Handa. Koharu Miyura died long ago and was replaced by her twin sister, Eri Handa, with the help of Soichuru Fujiwasa. We have documents and a recording that proves that the accused is indeed the perpetrator of these crimes. It was taken while Soichuru Fujiwasa was speaking to my client's son, Kazuyoshi Miyura in his home while he was recovering from his accident." Haruhi stated.

"Suoh-san…you'll be submitting a what?" The judge raised a brow and was confused with what he heard.

"A recording, your honor. It was a security measure done by the Miyura family since at that time Kazuyoshi Mizushima was gravely ill and was unable to speak. It was used to monitor his health to make sure that he was constantly in a stable condition."

Soichuru's lawyer stood up. "Your honor, I object. Presenting such evidence that was taken without my client knowing is against the –"

"Silence. Bring the evidence here." The police took the evidence from Haruhi's hand and they played the recording from Kazuyoshi Miyura's first aid kit.

"I know you woke up a few days ago and I'm sure you've heard the news. I should congratulate you. Being a grandfather is quite a joy." Soichuru

"You know, Koharu…the real one, okay? Just so we're on the same page." Soichuru had a low chuckle as he lit his cigar and stared pensively at the window. "She was a nice woman. Did you know she was the one created the compound to poison your grandfather? Sadanobu was killed by his own family." Soichuru laughed.

"It was almost pathetic. Your wife was willing to do anything to keep you and your daughter safe. She was the one who told me about Ryusei. I kept her alive long enough to figure out that the heir you're really looking for is a fake. You see, we found all the documents hidden in a shed all the way in Sapporo. It was all meant to fool us. All this time we thought there was someone else alive to run the family business, but we already killed Lilian Mizushima so it's all gone."

"I really do wonder if you still understand anything or you're just awake and not really back to normal. Well, I'm sure the next thing I'm going to say will test that."

"Your wife was pleasing to be with for a few months. You cannot imagine the things my men and I did. I made sure at least five men had a taste of her each day until she couldn't walk. The woman's body was already filled with scars. I actually felt bad at some point

"I tortured her myself. I still remember her screams up to this day. I beat her myself whenever she tried to run. I was forced to break her legs since she just wouldn't sit still. But you know what sealed the deal? I drove her to Megumi's school one day. I kept her in the car and made her watch how she was replaced, and no one realized. She watched her twin sister take her daughters and as they walked towards you. At that point she knew it was futile."

"Your grandfather was perceptive though. Ryusei too. They saw through the new Koharu easily and started poking their noses at things they shouldn't have. Now they're dead and don't worry you'll have a family reunion soon." Soichuru smiled. "I'll make sure you die the same way as Sadanobu. It's more poetic that way."

The whole room was silent. Haruka Mizushima was unable to hold her tears back after that confession.

"I'm being framed your honor. This recording is fabricated. I never said anything like that." Soichuru stood up.

Soichuru's lawyer stood up. "Your honor, that kind of evidence cannot be used against my client since it wasn't obtained legally with his consent. We're not sure but why would there be recording devices around the house if my client wasn't being framed."

The jury started muttering to themselves. Both sides had a point at this time. No one was sure about the validity of the recording, but that was just the beginning of Haruhi's case. Haruhi laid down each point and occasionally questioned Soichuru.

"Suoh-san, I can see how you have all this evidence which proves his involvement in other cases as well as your family's case, but there is no hard proof that he killed Ryusei Mizushima."

"I understand however your honor which is why I would like to bring in a witness for Ryusei Mizushima's murder."

"There's no witness for Ryusei Mizushima's suicide." The other lawyer argued.

"Order in my court." The judge commanded. "Suoh-san please continue."

"Your honor, I have Ryusei Mizushima's eldest daughter in this room who is willing to testify about the events that night."

"And what is the name of this witness, Suoh-san?"

"Julia Mizushima, your Honor. She's the eldest daughter of Ryusei and Lisbeth Mizushima."

"Well then, I would like to call Julia Mizushima to the testify."

The entire room was silent as the doors opened. Julia walked towards the podium. From there she revealed everything that happened that night. How her father asked her to visit him to introduce to his family, how a gunman ambushed her father in his own home, and how she was forced to see everything as she hid behind the closet. She told them how she ran to the police station to report her father's death and how her family sent her out of the country to keep her identity safe.

Soichuru Fujiwasa's lawyer was quick. He was able to get a copy of Julia's identification. "Your honor, if I may question the witness please."

"Go ahead."

Soichuru's lawyer walked in front of Julia and paced. "What exactly is your name Julia…Mizushima…Sakamoto or Swenhaugen? I have conflicting reports right here. For all we know you're just acting or pretending to be part of the Mizushima family."

"My father did everything in his power to make sure you didn't find me. He made several documents that protected my identity as the heir to the corporation since he knew about Soichuru Fujiwasa's alliance with Koharu Miyura." Julia looked straight into the man's eyes. "Don't think I don't know who you are sir. I never thought Fujiwasa-san had such a capable man in his disposal. I never thought a hitman and a lawyer could be found in just one person."

Soichuru froze.

"Your honor, I recognized this man the moment I entered the room. He was the man who killed my father. On his right arm is a dragon tattoo and a small birthmark on his other arm. This was the same man that killed my father."

"What are you saying girl?"

Haruhi stood up. "Your honor, I would like to request for him to remove his jacket and expose his arms. If what the witness says is false, then it is truly possible that Soichuru was just used by Eri Handa this entire time."

As the police restrained Soichuru's lawyer, there they saw the tattoo and birthmark Julia was talking about.

"I cannot believe it." The judge shook his head slowly. "Today's session is dismissed. We will be deliberating on Soichuru Fujiwasa's sentence for murder of the Mizushima family, Koharu Miyura, Ryoji Fujioka, and Kotoko Fujioka."

"It was Eri Handa who did all this! I was just her accomplice. She did everything and I had no choice but to follow!" Soichuru screamed as the police restrained him.

"Fujiwasa-san, please remain silent." The judge said.

Julia sat there in silence. Unable to comprehend what just happened as Misuzu started crying in relief. After all these years of fighting for the Mizushima family, Julia was there to take her place. Megumi ran towards her grandmother and hugged her tightly. Kazuyoshi was brought closer to his mother and daughter. Megumi cried as clutched onto her father for support. There was just so much to take in that day. All her suspicions had some truth to it.

"Julia, come here." Haruka motioned for Julia as she stood cautiously at the side of the room. "It's time we officially welcome you to the family."

Julia stood there albeit uncomfortable with all the attention. "I'm sorry for everything that's happened, I know this could have been prevented if I acted sooner."

Haruka shook her head. "Shhh, you aren't some kind of god, Julia." Haruka paused. "You're human just like everyone else. You've done all you could. No one expects you to handle all these by yourself."

Julia found herself crying as she hugged Megumi. "It's your turn to lean onto someone. You've handled things on your own for too long." Megumi said. "Gosh, I'm so sorry for everything I said or everything my mother- for everything Eri did to you."

"It's not your fault. Really."

"I guess that makes us something like sisters now." Megumi smiled.

"Yeah, I think so too." Julia smiled back.

Kyoya watched the scene unfold. He knew he did the right thing. Now his promise to Lilian was fulfilled. Julia would be safe now. She was officially out of his league. Kyoya decided to give Hotta and Ajima the day off. They all deserved to celebrate at this point. He watched the Mizushima family being swarmed with reporters with all their questions from the side.

"Kyoya, are you alright?" Tamaki stood beside his friend. He knew what it meant to let Julia take center stage. The matters of the heart would be put on hold.

"Yes, I'm fine." Kyoya dismissed.

"You're a patient man. I'm sure once things settle down you can make your move." Tamaki said.

"I guess so."

Kyoya was driving back home from the Hitachiin vacation house. He drove along the empty highway that evening since he still had work the next day. The Hitachiin family just welcomed their newest member of the family. Megumi just gave birth to a healthy baby boy. The entire Hitachiin family was losing in. They just had to throw a party to celebrate. Things have been peaceful. It's been months since the trial, and Soichuru was officially in jail. Things haven't settled down though. The mess the Mizushima Corporation was placed in due to Eri Handa's actions were taking its toll on the company. At least things were looking up. He and Julia finally spoke to each other. Although their conversation was brief, he knew he had a lot of explaining to do. She made sure he was going to tell her everything.

As Kyoya was about to take a turn, he felt a sudden impact from behind. It seems like someone hit his car.

Kyoya stopped at the emergency lane from the strength of the collision. He felt a bit dizzy and disoriented from what just happened. He looked at the car that hit him and walked towards it.

"Excuse me, what was that?" Kyoya knocked at the window of the driver's seat.

Kyoya shook his head. It's most likely a drunk driver. Considering the ungodly hour, it was highly plausible. Kyoya walked back to his car to call for the police, but before he could even reach for his phone he felt someone grip his neck.

"You're a witty man you know that? But nothing was funnier than your first joke. Remember the time when you turned a blind eye to what happened to your family? When you chose ignorance just to survive? When you killed Lilian Mizushima with your own hands…"

Soichuru tightened his grip on Kyoya's neck.

"To think you used yourself as a decoy to protect Mizushima-sama. I'm surprised."

He let go of Kyoya and he fell on the ground. The man tried to catch his breath. There was no turning back now.

"I was able to get out of jail, but I know this is the end of the road for me. There's no way I could leave this country alive so I thought I might as well bring you along." Soichuru pointed the gun at Kyoya. He wanted the Ootori to die slowly. Enough that his family would see him barely alive, but was practically dead.

He watched the high and mighty Kyoya Ootori fall to his knees. His crisp white shirt turned crimson. Soichuru placed his foot on Kyoya's head.

"We'll turn into dust soon." He kicked Kyoya off and watch the man fall down deeper into the forest.

Soichuru knelt on the ground. Placed the gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. He was bringing Kyoya to hell with him.

Author's note: Oh my gosh. It's finally over. It's done. Thank you for all your support. I truly apologize for this late chapter. I was busy adjusting with life and I needed a mental health break from everything. I'm really sorry. It took a few months before I was able to write again. This chapter was a bit shorter than I expected. When I was writing it I thought i was at 30,000 words, but I wasn't. I apologize if there are any grammatical errors that slipped through my eyes. I'm a bit rusty considering the long break I just took.

Then if you must know, this chapter was 50% completed by February , but then things happened and I couldn't complete it. I'm just glad to be mentally healthy now and well-adjusted with my life. Don't worry, there's one (or two) last chapters/omakes. I won't leave you guys hanging.

But it's officially over. The reveal is done. Finally! They've won. The Mizushima family can rest in peace and all your hearts can too. Thank you for all the love and support. I really appreciate it. It was my dream to write and finish a fanfic about ouran. Really. You guys helped make this dream possible. Thank you so much.
