Stephanie's Pov

As I became conscious my head was killing me and I felt really drowsy, but considering I was drugged that wasn't so surprising. I slowly pushed myself up from where I was lying, which was on a horrid dirty floor that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years, placing a hand against my forehead as I did. I felt out of it, like my head was filled with cotton wool, but thankfully I still remembered enough of what happened before I was chemically knocked out to know that I'd been kidnapped by two men I'd never bloody met before for some unknown reason. I really didn't want to know what they wanted with me, all I needed to know was 1) Where the hell was I exactly? And 2) How was I going to go about getting out of here and back home where people were surely worried about me?

I managed to stand up and I made my way over to a window that wasn't completely boarded up. I was in an abandoned building, that I was sure of because of the state of it, and as I looked down at the street I worked out that I was stuck on the third floor of the building, meaning I wasn't going to be able to climb out of the window and run off – sure I could try and see if it was possible, but I wasn't going to risk breaking any bones doing something as stupid as that because then I would be screwed. I wasn't entirely sure what this building was before it had closed down, but my money was on a factory or office building from the size of the room I was in – I was leaning more towards an office building honestly. It was still incredibly dark out, which made me wonder how long I'd been out for and what time it was. I did my best to look for some sign or something that told me where the hell I was. There was a small street across the street from this building and I saw a sign, which was thankfully visible thanks to the street light above it. I saw the name and a sudden realization hit me – I had driven down this street once before, when I first moved to Cleveland. I was closer to home then I had been before.

Sighing to myself, I tried to work out how to get out of here. I went over to the door and tried the handle, but it wouldn't budge. I could try breaking it open by ramming it, but I had no idea who was outside this room, waiting for me – sure it would work if they weren't right outside the door, but it would make so much noise if I did and they'd be on me in a second, maybe with weapons I wouldn't stand a chance against. If I could just contact the Cullen's, I could tell them where I was, but I didn't have any way to call them because my phone has been smashed back at the club, and it's not like I could just get them to see where I…

Laughing lightly to myself, I realized exactly how I was going to help them find me. I went back over to the window and shut my eyes, focusing on opening my mind and hoping to god that Alice was looking for my future, which was actually possible since I'd been kidnapped. I let the image's run through my head, the street name and an image of me trying to break out of this place, hoping to god Alive saw it and put the pieces together to find me, and hopefully saw what was coming next.

Suddenly I heard the door unlock and I swung around, glaring at it. The two assholes that kidnapped me stepped into the room, smirking at me, which made me want to gag, and a moment later my supposedly imprisoned uncle followed them in. How in god-damn-hell did this abusive basted get out of prison when he was kinda a dumbass and what the fuck did he want with me now?! I know I'd called him smart before, but I was scared then. I wasn't now, so I knew he'd obviously had help. Probably these two guys.

"Hello Stephanie, it's been a while." He greeted and I glared at him, which just made him smirk. Seriously, what the fuck was wrong in this man's head for him to try this shit?

"Fuck you!" I snapped back and all the basted did was widen his smirk as he shut the door behind him. I did not like the look of this, not one bit.

Renesmee's Pov

I stormed into the house the second we got home – Seth had driven Steph's car back here – and started up the stairs as fast as I could. First, my best friend suddenly gets kidnapped and taken who knows where by people who had to be helping her uncle, and then I have to talk to police about what happened before I was finally allowed to leave the club with Jacob and Seth. It was eleven thirty and all I wanted was to know was how John got out of prison and what he wanted with Stephanie.

I moved faster up the stairs and into the lounge where everyone was waiting for us, some with tense faces. I could tell that the tense atmosphere was getting to Uncle Jasper because of his ability.

"Why weren't we told about this the moment John broke out of prison?" I demanded, not even bothering to let anyone talk or ask me how I was. I was really worried about Stephanie and I wasn't the only one. Seth was just as worried about her, maybe even more than I was.

"I talked with Sheriff Mercer earlier on the phone, he said he had no idea about John's escape until right before Stephanie was taken. He was furious when he found out and didn't go easy on the person that called him. He's now doing whatever he can to find out where she is and asked us to call if we hear anything from her." Grandpa explained and I sighed as I sat down beside Seth, who was probably still worried sick about Stephanie. I couldn't blame him, Stephanie being with John where we couldn't find her wasn't a good thing. We couldn't track her because she had no scent, and even if she did we still wouldn't be able to because she was taken in a van that would obscure it.

"How is she going to contact anyone when she wakes up if her phone is smashed and I have it, along with her purse and jacket?" I asked, because it was the truth. It's not like John would just give her a phone, but I did hope he wouldn't hurt her. Unfortunately, I doubted that he wouldn't, but thankfully I knew Stephanie knew how to fight, I just hoped she would.

Suddenly Alice froze where she was standing, which made Jasper run over to her in a split second. She was staring off into space, but that normally what happened when she had a vision.

"Alice, what is it?" Jasper asked.

"Stephanie, she's here in Cleveland. I know the street name, I can find her. She's in an abandoned building, with John and two other men." Alice said and I sighed in relief, until I realized something.

"How did you see her future? I thought sometimes you couldn't, especially when it was uncertain." I asked and she smiled as she came out of her vision.

"I think she was trying to contact me, she purposely showed me where she was." Alice said and now I had to smile. Well, Stephanie wasn't seen as a genius for no reason. She had a brain and knew how to use it. I wouldn't have thought to try and contact Alice like that, but she obviously did and I was so glad she was a genius.

"I'll contact Sheriff Mercer and tell him Stephanie managed to contact us. Alice, find out the address." Carlisle said and Alice nodded before running out of the room, Jasper behind her while Carlisle grabbed out his phone. Stephanie might come out of this alright after all, as long as the police got there in time.

Stephanie's Pov

I stayed still as he walked further into the room, coming to a stop a foot in front of me. A foot was far too close if you ask me, I could smell the scent of beer rolling off of him, which kinda made me want to gag at the moment. I wasn't that surprised he'd been drinking, he was an alcoholic after all and a mean, violent drunk worst of all.

"So, I see you're doing well." He said and I huffed.

"Like you actually give a shit how I am. What do you want with me John?" I demanded as I prepared to beat the living shit out of him if he even thought of touching me.

"Well, I don't like when women get away from me. Not you, and not my wife." He said and my eyes widened. What wife, I never knew he was married? How could I not know that, and what exactly did he do to her? "Confused. Yes, I once had a wife. She was incredibly beautiful and had money, and she wanted to do anything to piss of her parents, so she married me – of course she never knew about my dark side when she did, she just thought I was the type of man who her parents wouldn't like because of my job and the fact that I'd been disowned. She then wanted to leave me after realizing I wasn't for her and was actually abusive, so I killed her and ended up with half of her money – I would have ended up with more if it hadn't been for her parents. No one ever knew it was me who did it because I made it seem like an accident, and because of her death I got about a sliver of the money I didn't get from my basted father because he didn't want anything to do with me."

What the hell, this basted was twisted and just plain fucked up in the head! I guess I knew what he had wanted from me then, he wanted to kill me in the end and get all our families money. Of course, that hadn't worked because I'd survived and because he tried to kill me he'd never get it now, no matter what he tried to do. Still, learning that he'd killed an innocent person made me sick to the stomach.

"You twisted fucker! So, what exactly was your plan here? What do you plan on getting out of this exactly, because you won't get any money?!" I shouted and he laughed at me.

"The privilege of seeing you dead, considering you screwed up my plan." He said and he pulled out a gun from the back of his pants. Well, this seemed familiar, but it wasn't ending the same way as it did last time, not if I had my way. Unknown to him, I got over a lot and I wasn't afraid of him anymore.

"Like hell." I said and I spun around, kicking the gun right out of his hand before he could fire it, thankful the other guys didn't have guns from the looks of it. The gun skidded across the floor and John glared right at me.

"You fucking little…" I shut him up by slamming my fist straight into his stupid face, before I spun around on my left foot and drove my right foot right into the side of his head, sending him to the floor.

The other two men went into action then and as one tried to grab me, I ducked under his arm and wrapped my arm around his neck, before using a pillar to get into the air and spinning around the guy while I still held onto him, kicking the second guy straight in the face. I landed in front of the first guy and as he went to strike me I grabbed his arm firmly in mine and twisted it around and towards his back, before slamming as much weight as I could manage into the blow I landed on his shoulder. He cried out in pain and fell to the floor, gripping the shoulder I'd just hurt, though I should say dislocated, and I kneed him in the face so he fell backwards onto his back, dazed. The second guy came at me then and I dodged his fist as he tried to punch me in the face, causing his fist to slam into the pillar. I hit him in the stomach with quick jabs, sending him staggering back, which is when I punched him in the face as hard as I could, hearing a definitive crack. He staggered back again as he spat out blood from his mouth and as blood dripped from his nose and suddenly an arm was wrapped around my neck.

"I'll make you pay for that." John smirked and I scoffed.

"Try it asshole." I said before I swung my head back and connected it with his. I then slammed my foot down onto his as hard as I could, before I turned and drove my knee into his family jewels, causing him to groan. As he lent over in pain I used an uppercut to punch him in his annoying face, sending him backwards.

He glared at me as he tried standing straight the second he regained his footing, wiping the blood from his face. I realized someone was coming up behind me and I dodged right, before I grabbed them by the arm and neck and slammed them head first into the pillar I was still near, causing them to slump to the floor, unconscious but not dead. I was then hit from behind then by none other than my uncle, but I managed to regain my footing quickly and turned around. He threw a punch at my face, but I caught his fist and pulled him forward as I bent it, driving my knee into his stomach. Once he was down, I kneed him in the face, which it when he staggered back and hit the ground. He regained himself faster than I would have thought possible and kicked the back of my legs with his foot, sending me backwards to the ground. My body slammed against the floor painfully, but I managed to put my hand behind my head to stop it from connecting. He got off the floor with a groan of pain and pulled out his gun as I laid on the floor, having been planning to flip up a second ago, but now I froze.

Suddenly the door was kicked open as I stared at John and John turned to look at it, his gun still pointed at me, which is when I shut my eyes tight and a shot was suddenly fired. As I listened, having winced when the gun went off and still not opening my eyes, I heard John's body hit the floor with a thump that made me realize what had just happened. The gun that was just fired wasn't John's, the shot came from the person who kicked in the door. They had to have not hesitated when shooting and known who he was.

Somebody came to my side then and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Stephanie, it's Sheriff Mercer. Keep your eyes closed for me, okay. I'm going to lead you out of here." He said and I nodded, keeping them shut as he helped me up off the floor easily. "You two, call an ambulance for those two. We'll take them to hospital, then I intend to throw both their asses in prison for as long as I can."

"You got it boss." Someone said as I was led across the room and past a doorframe.

"You can open your eyes now." Sheriff Mercer said and that's what I did, looking up at him as I did. "Sorry, I didn't want you to see something like that. Hurting people and seeing them hurt is different from seeing someone dead." Well, I couldn't feel bad that he shot John, though I felt bad he'd have to deal with the outcome. Killing couldn't be an easy thing to live with.

"I'm glad I shut my eyes right before I heard the shot." I admitted, because I hadn't wanted to see that, and then I sighed. "I'm sorry you have to deal with all of this."

"Stephanie, the last person I'm going to blame for any of this is you. I'm just glad you managed to get a call out to your family and say where you were, or else I might not have gotten here in time to help you and would have had to see something that I wouldn't be able to live with." So, that's how they found me, Alice had seen what I'd been hoping she'd see. I'm glad they were so good at lying though. "I'm glad you know how to defend yourself and that you did. You handled them all quite well, but unfortunately it doesn't matter how tough a person is if someone else has a gun."

"I'm aware." I said, having already been shot once before. A hand to hand fight was fair, but if someone had a gun then you were dead if they fired it. "Sheriff Mercer, my uncle apparently had a wife that I didn't know about until today. I don't know if you knew she was dead or not, but he was behind whatever happened – he murdered her."

He seemed shocked as he looked down at me. "I'm aware of who you're talking about, they were only married for a month before she ended up dead. Her name was Arianna Cane, but her death looked like an accident to everyone. It was a car crash and there was no sign of foul play, but I can easily believe that the basted did it. I'll contact her parents so they know the truth about their daughter's death."

"Thank you." I said and he nodded, though he didn't look happy about any of this.

We managed to get outside and waiting out there was surprisingly Carlisle, Alice and Seth. I smiled and without thinking all that much, I ran away from Sheriff Mercer and straight over to Seth who pulled me immediately into his arms the second I reached him.

"Take her home Carlisle, I'll get a statement of what happened from her another day." I heard Sheriff Mercer say as I continued to hug Seth tightly. I hadn't let it through before, but I had been afraid that I was going to lose my life in there, especially when the shot went off.

"Do me a favor and try not to scare me like that again?" Seth said softly and I nodded, my head resting on his shoulder.

"I'll try, it's not like I enjoy being in these situations." I said, because the last thing I wanted was to be in a situation like this again.

"Let's go home." Carlisle said and I nodded, walking with Seth's hand in mine over to Carlisle's car. Seth and I climbed into the back seat of the car, while Alice got into the passenger seat and Carlisle got into the driver's seat. I rested my head against Seth's shoulder, realizing I was quite tired. "Stephanie, are you hurt?"

"No, I'm alright – the blood on my hands isn't mine, but you probably already knew that. My hands hurt a little and I'm sure they're scraped up, but hitting people does that sometimes." I admitted and then I looked at Alice. "I'm just glad what I did worked. I was hoping you'd see my future Alice."

"It was a smart idea, I'm glad you thought of it. I'm also glad you're okay, we were all worried." Alice said and I smiled, before shutting my eyes because I was so tired right now.

Seth wrapped his arm around lightly around my shoulder and I rested my head in the crook of his neck, finding comfort in his warmth as I started drifting off to sleep. I felt a little bad, because I knew there were people at home who were worried about me, but I was just so god damn tried to stay awake. I knew I'd need a shower, but they could wake me up later. I fell to sleep pretty quickly once I let myself.
