Epilogue
It had been three years since Ron and Hermione had married, and things had been going extremely well for them. Teddy was nearing five years of age, Ron had recently been promoted, along side Harry in the Auror's office, and Hermione had taken some time off to stay at home with Teddy and write a book about the oppression and since renewal of status of House Elves.
But none of that mattered to Ron as he waited nervously in the restaurant for Hermione to arrive. They were celebrating their third wedding anniversary and his parents were watching Teddy.
Hermione, for some odd reason, had insisted that they drive in their muggle cars separately to the muggle restaurant and, equally as unusual, Hermione was running late.
Ron straighten out his tie as he sat at the table when the waiter suddenly walked up to him.
"You are Mr. Weasley, correct?" The waiter asked.
Ron nodded. "Yes."
"I have a message. Your wife is outside. She said she needed you for something with the car," The waiter said.
"Uh, thanks," Ron stood, slightly confused, as he moved out of the restaurant. Hermione knew he was rubbish with anything that had to do with the car, so he had no idea why she would need his assistance.
When he got outside he saw Hermione struggling with something in the backseat of her car.
"Hermione, what are you doing?" Ron asked as he approached.
"I can't get this bloody seat in the right way," Hermione admitted and stepped away so Ron could see what she was doing.
Ron's face screwed up as he saw the baby car seat that Teddy had grown out of years ago. He had no idea what Hermione was doing with it. "Why do you have that?"
"We need it," Hermione said, hardly able to hide her smile.
Ron was still confused, however. "Teddy doesn't fit in that, Hermione."
"No. But the new baby will," Hermione said.
"New bab—" Ron started in confusion but then realized what Hermione was saying to him and was hardly able to hide his excitement as he picked his wife up and twirled her. "Hermione? Are you…are you?"
"Pregnant?" Hermione finished Ron's thought with a smile and a nod. "Eight weeks."
Ron kissed Hermione deeply with happiness and when they broke apart they were both smiling.
"Happy Anniversary, Ron. You get to be a daddy," Hermione told him.
"Well, I reckon I have already been," Ron grinned back, knowing that a new baby was such a gift, just like Teddy had been, and he couldn't wait to do it all with Hermione again.
