Chapter 37
If He Only Knew!
The forest was silent there wasn't even a breeze, no signs of birds or any animals of any kind. It was dead, and eerie. The sun had disappeared behind dark gray clouds, threatening to rain or snow. Making the forest even more menacing.
Stiles walked alone waiting for the Cryix to appear, he hoped that his friends were hidden well enough not to frighten the demon away.
The light dusting of snow crunched under the witches feet as he walked through the bare forest waiting, listening for something out of the ordinary.
"Have you come to surrender?" A dark voice said from all around Stiles.
"I-I have." Stiles said nervously.
-Flashback-
"This spell wont let the Cryix hear or see any of you, as long as you hold this pouch. Only Stiles will know, stay with him and don't alert the Cryix of your presence." Caleb said hand out the small brown pouches with the spell inside.
"The onyx has to be put exactly 5 feet apart from the other rocks or the spell wont contain the Demon." Caleb said handing Derek Kali and the Twins the black shiny rocks.
"Allison your explosion tip arrows will work perfectly to keep him from escaping the circle before the last one is placed, If the rocks aren't exactly 5 feet apart the rocks will implode and disintegrate and probably kill or hurt Stiles. We don't want that." Caleb said pointing to the map.
"Stiles you have to get the rose into the Cryix's body or it wont work, it should suck him in like a vacuum sucking up dust." Stiles nodded handing the rose to Scott.
"Scott and Jackson will stay beside you the whole time, if anything goes wrong they will pull you away from the Cryix." Caleb instructed.
-End Of Flashback-
Stiles stood in the forest and looked around at the empty area. "Show yourself!"
"You came alone of course, that's smart. Forgive me if I want to savor this victory. I have waited so long for this moment." The voice said. "Tell me, what you want?"
Stiles looked around at the empty forest, the bare trees stood so strong and yet so dead in the breeze less forest.
"I want you to return Derek to the way he was, with his feelings, and promise to leave and never return. Only then can you have my heart." Stiles said looking for the Demon.
"Seems reasonable, we have a deal." The Cryix said before black mist began to crawl from the shadows on the trees and snow covered land, behind rocks and broken branches. The smoke crept along the ground and formed into a small pile on the ground in front of Stiles.
Stiles had to step back as the black smoke began to form into a figure and grow up from the ground.
Hands formed from the black mist, then arms and elbows, and shoulders attached to a torso, a thin withered body and legs covered in a dark ripped fabric and then his head appeared with bright mustered yellow eyes, sharp teeth between thin lips, a bald scalp like a dying cancer patient, his skin was pale almost turning black like decay. His fingers were long and bony with long yellow finger nails as he reached out to Stiles.
"Come closer boy!" The Cryix said his lifeless eyes watching the witch with want and need, like a zombie being offered a fresh human arm.
"Oh my god, that's the demons true form?" Jackson asked standing beside Stiles, Stiles ignored his question.
Scott held the crystallized rose in his hands ready to hand it to Stiles.
Derek stood behind the Cryix with Kali and the twins holding the black rocks in their hands ready to place them.
"Place the rocks in position around Stiles and the Demon." Lilith said sitting in a tree with Allison, her bow at the ready with explosive tips.
Madison levitated over them as Brien held a barrier in front of Stiles and the Cryix.
"Give Stiles the crystal." Caleb said as Derek and the other alpha's placed the rocks, Stiles' hand went behind his back as Scott handed the blue crystal to him.
Stiles gripped it tight, behind his back.
Jackson stood ready to grab Stiles and pull him away from the foul beast.
"I need your word that you will do what I ask!" Stiles said inching closer to him.
"Drop the barrier, Brien." Caleb said.
Brien did what he was told his hands lowered and the invisible wall disappeared.
"Of course, you have my word." The Cryix said with a small grin.
"Now Stiles!" Caleb said.
"No! Stop the last rock isn't in the right place!" Madison yelled rushing to the last rock, but it was too late.
Stiles thrust the crystallized rose from behind his back and towards the Cryix. The sharp end of the rose cut the Cryix robe but didn't enter him, the Cryix hissed as the edge of the crystal burned his decaying skin, he disintegrated into mist, getting away from the crystal and began to swarm all around Stiles' face and body.
Jackson thrust himself towards Stiles, but the boy was lifted into the air by the Cryix.
Stiles dropped the crystallized rose reaching at the smoke swarming his face, trying to stop the Cryix from entering his body.
"No!" Caleb yelled as Madison placed the rock in it's place, a bright light sparked and exploded the black rocks disintegrated into dust. Stiles flew back as Derek and Scott ran to break his fall. Scott caught him before he hit the tree and Derek searched the area for the Cryix but couldn't see him anywhere.
"Where did it go?" Kali yelled.
"I don't know!" Caleb said.
Allison pointed her weapon ready for any sign of the Demon but saw nothing.
"Where is it!" Derek said looking around frantically.
Stiles lay unconscious in Scott's arms.
Jackson ran to Stiles' unconscious form. "Stiles wake up!" He rushed, shaking Stiles as Scott recovered from breaking Stiles' fall.
"Stiles wake up!"
"Jackson is that you?" I asked looking around the darkness.
"How dare you, you little witch. You tried to trick me with the lightning sand. Nice try but you failed and now your mind, body and soul is mine. You heart is finally mine and you are never going to get what you wanted, you're mine Marion Romulus!" The Cryix said inside my head.
"No, you're inside me? Without my permission?" Stiles asked.
"When you agreed to giving me your heart you signed away your whole body." The Demon said, his voice was all I could hear.
"I missed being in here. So much power and it's all mine. You're never going to see your family or friends again!" The Cryix laughed inside my head.
"No, that's where you're wrong! You may have my body and heart and be able to control my actions and words. But you can never have my soul. You will never fully have me. My friends will destroy you even if they have to destroy me in the process." I said as a cage crew from under my feet sealing me in my own mind. I saw a figure walk out of the darkness and towards the cage. It was me, but it was the evil me.
"I always looked better as you, Corwin just didn't have your weak looking body. So innocent but with the right spells so deadly. Like a poisonous spider, catching it's prey in it's sticky web." The other me laughed as his eyes glazed over to black.
I held onto the bars of the cage unable to fight him, I could feel tears began to swell as the Cryix walked away form me and the cage I was trapped in.
"I may not have enough power to take your heart right here and now, but I have enough power to become you and finish my plan." The Cryix said from all around me.
"Stiles, come on wake up!" Scott said.
Derek watched as Stiles still lay limp in Scott's arms, Allison and Lilith climbed down from the tree they were in to see if they could help.
Madison and Brien ran to the fallen witch. Kali and the twins watched from afar.
Caleb knelled beside Stiles and placed his hand over Stiles' head. The older witch closed his eyes as his hand began to glow.
The only thing he saw was Stiles trapped in a steal cage.
"No." Caleb said opening his eyes.
"What is it." Derek asked.
Caleb pulled his hand away. Just as Stiles' eyes opened.
Everyone gasped and backed away as Stiles looked around at them his eyes were black, a smile crept along the witches face.
"He's mine." The Cryix said standing without using his hands.
"Stiles?" Jackson asked.
"Wrong, lizard boy!" Stiles said lifting his hand and his friends around him went flying through the air, landing on the snow a few feet away from him.
"No!" Derek yelled lunging back towards Stiles. The black eyed boy only smiled as he lifted his hand, holding the wolf in the air with Stiles' telekinesis.
"Yes! Now you lose him forever, never remembering the feelings you once had for him. Never seeing his beautiful eyes meeting yours, never touching his soft skin, never hearing his words tell you how much he loves or misses you." The Demon said with Stiles' voice, his smile was proud and sinister.
"No!" Derek choked out, as if the Cryix was holding him by the throat.
The Cryix laughed at Derek's attempts to reach him.
"I must be off so much to do, so little time." The Demon said throwing Derek against a tree knocking the wind out of him.
Stiles' body walked through the circle of Stiles' friends.
"St-op!" Derek said trying to catch his breath.
"Stiles, if you can hear me. Hold on we will find a way to save you." Scott yelled at the witch walking away from him.
"Wa-t. St-iles! I-" Derek said through harsh breaths, "I Love you!" Derek said as loud as his voice would allow him.
Stiles stopped and held his chest as though something had just pierced it, the Cryix looked back at Derek, with surprise and a bit of fear, in his face.
Derek's eyes widened as black smoke covered his beautiful dark green eyes, and then shattered like glass.
The Cryix gritted his teeth in anger as he watched his unbreakable curse break before his eyes.
I heard him, Derek broke his curse, but how?
"Derek, I love you too." I said through the bars in the cage, suddenly before my very eyes the bars I held onto, there was a crack in the one in my right hand. It wasn't there before, I had done it.
"Derek I heard you, Derek!" I yelled through my mind.
"This can't be." The Cryix whispered before using Stiles' teleporting powers, disappearing in a flash of light.
