Wind beneath my Wings of Freedom
Summary: My name is Kagome. Since the end of my adventures down the well, I've been living in what one might say was an 'alternate universe'. And maybe that's true...the world I knew, was no longer. I came up through the well of a family I had never met...and was taken in by them. I became a storyteller...a tutor...and the caregiver of the orphans near the outer wall Maria in the city Shiganshina. "To them...I'm just a story teller...but to the kids, it's hope that my words reveal."

WORST CASE SCENARIO

Kagome looked at the cellar door, smiling at Eren who fiddled with the key on the string around his neck. "You okay?"
"I'm just worried,"
"What about?"
"I just...don't want it to be for nothing."
Erwin walked over and placed his hand on Eren's shoulder, "whatever is beneath the floors of your home, will assist us greatly in the future to come. Be proud of the fact that you've gotten us this far."
"I didn't do anything, Commander."
"No...you did. The fact that you decided to stand and fight, as a Shifter on the side of Humanity, and come to the Scouts the way you did..." Erwin smiled, "...there are many other scenarios that could have taken place. This is the one that was desirable, Yeager."
"You did well, Eren." Kagome smiled, "Let's pave a better future for humanity, together!"
Eren stared at her, his cheeks flushed a bit in admiration for his older sister figure, "...right!"

"Disgusting..." Levi pulled a spider web from his hair, a sneer on his face as he passed by a work table that was knocked over in the basement. Eren was helping some soldiers shift through the notes, placing books and papers in bags before they helped Hange load them on the horses.
"I don't know what it is were looking for, so let's just gather as much as possible, I can go through it once we returns." Hange told a few soldiers as they picked up all the papers. She looked around and noted a journal lying open, face down. Lifting it, she flipped it over and read the pages that are open, "...hm?" She closed the book, then pocketed the book in her jacket.
"What was that?" Levi asked as he crouched down and picked up a picture on the floor, old and tattered from the years passing.
"Good question, I'll tell you once I read it." She walked back up the steps of the cellar and looked around. There wasn't much left to the house, but she could still get to the rooms, though, upstairs wasn't an option. She moved to the room furthest in the back, looking around, she found what looked like a pile of sticks in the corner of the room. "Those are...ah! HOW COOL!"
"What did you find?"
Hange was pushing rocks and pieces of wood out of the way, pulling on a strap, she used her foot to help her pull out whatever was beneath the pile of rubble. Erwin gave her a hand, helping her pull whatever it was that she'd found. "It's..." Hange finally fell backwards with the strap and what was attached to it, Erwin threw an arm out to catch her and looked at what was in Hange's hand. "It's a quiver! But it looks like it's made of something...you know, other than birch, oak or fir." She held it up closer to her face and her grin widened. Then she moved out of Erwin's arms, pulling the pile of sticks, she smiled at the sharpened stone tips and soft white and black feathers on the opposite end. "Arrows too...do you see an arrow?"
Erwin glanced around the room before pointing beneath the bed. "There,"

Kagome watched as Hange came running out excitedly, arrows, bow and quiver in her arms. "Oh wow! My bow!" Kagome smiled as Hange handed it to her, "haven't seen this in forever..." her eyes softened as she took and arrow and notched it, pulling the string back, she frowned. Pulling the arrow away from the string, she gave it to Hange who replaced it in the quiver, "It wouldn't be good to use my bow right now,"
"Why not?" Hange asked.
"The string is really old, it could snap at any moment." Kagome pressed the bow down and unhooked the string before unstringing her bow. She tied it to her horse and helped Hange strap the quiver to her horse too.
"I'll be back." Hange ran back inside the mostly destroyed house.
Kagome sighed, memories flooded her mind before she heard a yell and cry from behind. She turned to see Petra fighting off a rather large Titan. A hand coming down quickly onto Petra made Kagome react quickly. She threw her body forward with her Maneuver Gear and caught Petra around the waist, noticing the blood on the girl when her hand was met with slipper resistance. She dropped the girl near the horses and jumped back up as the same titan grew closer to them. Making her way closer to the large creature, she frowned as another titan suddenly fell nearby her, causing the ground to shake. This was the distraction the titan needed, reaching out and grabbing Kagome by her left arm, squeezing it tightly as she let out a scream.

Kagome cried out in agony as a jagged stone tore through her leg, and her left arm was shattered from a titan's grip. This wasn't saying anything about the fact that she'd been impaled with a destroyed piece of tree going straight through her shoulder and nailing her to the ground. She cried out and forced her mind to take precaution, subsiding the pain that was nearly mind numbing at the sound of Levi's own wounded cry, she knew she had to focus her energy on getting rid of the pain, if only for him. Her barrier was still held up protectively around her abdomen, not allowing any form of injury to take a toll on her unborn child's body.
Levi came running out of the Levi house and found Kagome lying flat on the ground she'd been thrown down against in her fight with the titan, and ran to her. The titan was gone, dead, she had killed it, but not before sustaining her injuries. "Kagome! What happened?!"
"Ah, i-it's nothing...a Titan...caught me off guard..."
Armin came running to Levi and Kagome, the other soldiers who'd survived the Titans falling followed close behind, most who had been left out with Kagome, had been killed when Titans had begun flying at them randomly. "We need to get you back inside Wall Rose!" He took a hand and called to a soldier, "Get the others who are inside the cellar, we aren't left with any more choices, an immediate return back to headquarters is now mandatory!"
"A-Armin...careful when you give orders." Kagome laughed slightly, blood seeping out of her mouth at the corners of her lips. "Erwin is feeling a b-bit cornered with m-my faithful...ness t-towards Levi, and unyielding loyalty only to Levi...Ah!...he thinks I...I'm not loyal to him. Just b-be careful, not to let him think...you are o-overriding his...author...ity..."
Armin frowned but nodded, his eyes on the couple in front of him as Annie quickly joined him and Levi on Kagome's left, and Mikasa next to Armin on Kagome's right. "We need to get you–ah...w-what...is that..."
Kagome looked in the direction Armin was looking in, and so did everyone else's eyes follow, and before them, she could stare only in shock. A titan, one with long, elongated ape-like arms, and an apish face, stared right at them from over the wall. It was just like five years ago, with the Colossal Titan. "G-go..."
Levi frowned, "What?!"
"GO! This one is an intelligent, you must leave, go~!" Her energy flared out around her and the soldiers standing by watching jumped back as it snapped dangerously at them. "COMMANDER ERWIN! GET YOUR SOLDIERS BACK TO WALL ROSE!"
It took no more prodding, the soldiers took to their horses and Erwin starting gathering his men. "READY THE HORSES! GATHER IN THIRTY SECONDS! QUICK TO YOUR STEEDS MEN!"
"Kagome, come!" Levi made to lift Kagome, but the tree was still holding her down, "damn!"
"LEVI! WE NEED TO LEAVE!"
"I'm not leaving without her!"
"Go..." she whispered through a sudden sharp pain in her shoulder. Looking up at Levi, she gave a teary smile, "I'll be fine...so just...go...please Levi!"
"...I can't...I've already lost the only people I'd considered family before I met you, now...no...I can't do that!"
Kagome closed her eyes before nodding, "I understand," she opened her eyes and looked lovingly at Levi, "I'm sorry..."
"What?"
She brought a hand to his cheek, guiding him down and kissing him before shooting enough of her purification energy into him to cause him to pass out, but not purify his demonic energy. His eyes widened and he fell forward not a second later, Eyes rolling to the back of his head as he lost consciousness. "H-Hange! Annie!"
The two rode their horses over to Kagome who was hugging Levi with her good arm.
"Take him, please be quick!"
Hange had tears in her eyes as Annie helped her place him over Hange's horse, "you will come back to us, won't you?"
"I'm too stubborn to die..." She held a hand out to Hange who took it, both ignoring the yells of Erwin as Hange leaned forward, "Annie, Berthold, Reiner, Ymir and Eren...protect them...at all costs. These are the ones who can pave a future for humanity...our Titan Shifters...save them Hange."

'That was the worst!' Kagome couldn't stop crying, her whole body was aching, she was sure of it, and while she'd been using her miko energy to soothe her pain, it didn't change the fact that her psyche was telling her left and right that she hurt like hell. She was still staring at the monkey Titan thing as it had climbed over the wall about five minutes after Erwin had finally taken his leave. No Titans had harmed her yet, or even tried to for that matter. Still, she wasn't sure how much longer she'd survive, and if she did live... Kagome dropped her hand to her stomach, still glowing a soft shade of pink as she refused to let down the barrier, not wanting to take any chances.
She looked around as the sound of those heavy footfalls stopped nearby her.
"...human,"
