Jacob's P.O.V
'It's Vera'
I felt as if my world was breaking. Vera was hurt, scared and I wasn't there to help her. Was it a vampire… was she going to be alright. I needed to get to her and now. I ripped the leech I was facing with so much force and fury; I could see the stunned minds of the pack look at me in awe. I started to run away from the battled when two leeches cornered me; they were the last ones.
I growled at them and sprung at the bigger brown-haired male, tackling him to the ground. I was ripping off his arms, listening to his metallic screams; when the blonde female wrapped her arms around my neck. I was just able to rip the head off the male when she crushed my bones.
I felt the pain; it was as if every bone in the right side of my body was crushed. I howled in pain; and Paul and Leah rushed over and dragged her off of me.
'Jacob' Called Sam as I started to drag myself off the field. I needed to get to Vera; I needed to save her, and protect her.
'Jacob, your hurt' tried Sam again and I growled.
'I don't care; Vera's in trouble' I was in excruciating pain, and I could barely move; but the thought of Vera in trouble was enough to keep me going.
'Seth, Jared; go back and check the imprints, check on Vera.' Barked out Sam and I wined in pain
'Jacob, you need to phase back.' He was right. I phased back to my human form; and screamed in pain. Every bone in the right side of my body was crushed. When I screamed the pack howled in pain as well. Sam and Paul phased back as well and picked up my body. I screamed again.
"I can help him" I think it was the doctor leech that was talking, but I wasn't sure; all my thoughts were on Vera, and the pain.
"Alright" Sam sounded nervous, as they started to run me back to the reservation. The whole way I was in horrible physical pain; and unbearable emotional pain. Vera was hurt, or something else was really, really wrong. We arrive back at my house, and I could somewhat see through the haze of pain, my dad, Sue, and Nala on the front porch.
"What happened" Asked my dad and I screamed in pain again as they set me down on the table. Sam was the one that answered.
"something happened to Vera" Nala gasped "And it distracted Jacob; he got cornered and a leech crushed his bones." I saw the doctor leech stick a needle in my arm
"Morphine, to help with the pain" I wasn't worried about my pain; I was worried about Vera's. Suddenly there was a sickening crack as he snapped my bone that was already healing, into its proper place. I screamed again.
Vera's P.O.V
I awoke hearing voices downstairs. I sat up and stretched, listening to my bones pop as I did. I was really sore, and my skin still burn slightly from the no longer visible cuts; and my hand felt as if someone stuck a thousand knives in it.
I stood up and was able to limp down the stairs. I noticed that everything seemed to be back to normal, and I was glad. I walked into Emily's now fixed living room and saw Seth and Jared hugging their imprints. I felt my heart stutter.
"Jared, Seth" I whispered and their gaze snapped to me.
"Vera" said Seth; he looked worried, and that made me worried as well
"What happened, are you alright" I shifted slightly and shrugged
"I'm in pain; I'm not going to lie, but I will be fine" I whispered and the boys nodded
"What happened; was it a vampire?" Asked Jared and Kim shook her head and removed herself from his embrace
"No; it was Vera's cousin" Both boys eyes widened and I sighed sitting on the couch
"She attacked Vera, and destroyed the house; but Vera won the fight and fixed everything" Emily came over and place some tea in my hands. I took a sip; this should have relaxed me, but I felt another wave of discomfort.
"So that's what happened" murmured Seth and I nodded
"Wait" I asked sitting up "How did you know something happened… and where's Jacob" The discomfort turned to panic and I knew something serious was wrong. Jared and Seth looked solemn
"He got hurt" My breath got caught in my throat; he got hurt
"How" my words were so quiet I barely heard them myself. Jared looked nervous and Seth looked sad.
"He felt your panic, and got distracted. A leech cornered him and he got hurt" This was my fault. He felt my emotions and gat hurt because of them.
"I need to see him" I said. My voice sounded far away; hell I felt far away. This was like a bad dream, and this time I wasn't going to wake up. Both boys nodded and helped me up from the couch. I walked to the door and the other girls followed.
"Stay here" I whispered to both of them. They needed their imprints, and they needed them. I could tell they wanted to protest, but they saw the look on both of their girl's faces and nodded.
"He's at Billy's" I nodded and walked out of the house. I wasn't very fast, and it took me about thirty minutes to reach the small red house. I could hear his screams, and they made me want to die slowly. Every scream that came out his mouth was like a dagger to my soul.
I walked up to the front door and didn't even bother to knock. I walked in to see the whole pack gathered around in the living room. They all looked like hell.
"Vera" That was grandmother's voice. I looked at her and she ran to me, wrapping her arms around me. I winced.
"What happened" asked Sam, and I knew he wanted to know if Emily was alright. I sighed
"My cousin attacked the house, and we fought. All the others are fine, but I got hurt. I'm healed by now" I whispered, and they all looked shocked.
"How's my Jacob" I asked and there expressions turned grim
"The doctor had to re-break all the bones in the right side of his body so they could heal straight." I closed my eyes and wanted to cry. The screaming had stopped, but we could almost feel the pain in the air.
"Vera; where is your cousin?" I shifted and looked him in the eyes
"In the shadow realm" my grandmother gasped
"No, you didn't" I nodded, Sam and the other's looked confused
"What's the shadow realm?" I sighed again
"The shadow realm was a realm created by the first shadow witch. It was a place that she could control and would hide things and people in for safe keeping. It's a dark place, and anything that stays there too long eventually turns into a shadow" I explained and they nodded.
"She in my shadow right now" I whispered, more to my grandma, than to the pack and she nodded
"Shall we tell Ezra" I shook my head
"I need to talk to her first." her eyes widened and she opened her mouth to protest, but before she could say anything the door to Jacob's room opened and Dr. Cullen walked out.
"He wants to see you" I knew he was talking to me so I walked past him and into Jacob's room. His room was badly lit, with some clothes on the floor and a queen sized bed pushed against the wall. He had a few car posters hanging up, and the room smelled like him.
"Vera" I looked at his bandaged body on the bed and wanted to cry again. He looked so relieved to see me, yet he looked like he was in so much pain. I sat in a chair that was up against a desk that held a laptop and rolled over to him. I brushed some hair away from his eyes and kissed hi forehead.
"I'm so sorry" I murmured and his black eyes snapped to me.
"Why" He asked and I saw him wince as the words left his mouth
"I should have been more careful with my emotions; if I wasn't so scared of Gin_" His eyes widened
"What happened" I shrugged
"Gin and I had a little fight, it's no big deal." I was downplaying it, but it needed to be done. I saw him attempt to shake his head
"It is a big deal; are you alright" I had to let out a watery laugh. Here he was, broken and bruised and he was asking me if I was alright
"I'm fine now; but you're not… please rest" I whispered and I saw him shake his head. I knew he was going to be difficult.
"Somni" I whispered and I saw his eyelids droop. I kissed his forehead and shut out the light. I walked out the room and saw the expectant faces of the pack. I looked at them
"The leech said he would be okay" Said Sam; it was like he was asking me if it was true. I nodded
"He's sleeping" I whispered and I saw them all sigh in relief. I was tired. It had felt like this day had whizzed by, when in reality it was only eleven o'clock. I looked to Sam and Paul.
"I need you two to help me" I said and they gave me a confused glance. I cocked an eyebrow and they shrugged. I walked outside and took a deep breath. I heard the boys follow behind me and stop a few steps back.
"I need to talk to Genevieve; can you watch my back?" I asked and I turned around to see them both nodding.
"Thanks" I murmured and too one more deep breath and focused on the shadows in the area.
"Umbrata Reducent Eam" I shouted and I saw the shadow morph into the familiar form of Genevieve. Its red eyes stared blankly at me and I nodded my head. I heard both men gasp as the shadow pushed its hand down into a shadowy portal on the ground; pulling out a wide eyed Ginny.
"You trapped me inside the shadow realm" She hissed at me and I shrugged
"You threw me through a window, attempted to suffocate me by burning down Sam's house, and burned my hand" I stated bluntly and her angry expression turned to one of happiness.
"Oh yeah; that was funny" She laughed and attempted to wiggle out of her shadows grasp. I shook my head in shock; this was funny to her? I heard Sam gasp and Paul growl; I turned back to him
"Everything's okay… I fixed it" The tense look on his face settled and I sighed turning back to Ginny. She still looked happy
"Look; you said that… he was alive; where is he?" I hissed and she stopped wiggling and laughing and looked deadly serious
"I don't know" She whispered and I sighed
"Don't lie to me" I yelled and she smiled a cold blood chilling smile.
"I honest to god don't know. He comes to me… He wants to see you and Sia" I gritted my teeth and walked right up to her face
"I. Don't. Care. He can burn in hell; in fact, he should be in hell" I hissed out and I almost shoved her in the shadow realm again so I could watch her squirm in darkness.
'Aww, daddy wants to see me' laughed Sia and I rolled my eyes. 'When you're in control of this body, you can do whatever the hell you want, but until then… Shut the hell up!' She was silent
"Look, you should let me go… I have no real info for ya" She smiled sweetly at me and I rolled my eyes.
"Fat chance" I hissed and she huffed in annoyance
"Bitch" She growled and I turned away from her. That's when I heard it; the rumble off the god-awful red monster someone called a truck.
"You have got to be shitting me" I yelled and Sam and Paul looked at Bella Swan, and her leech pulling down Jacob's driveway. Paul growled and began to shake and Sam looked to the house
"Quil, Leah; get Paul out of here" he ordered and the two wolves ran out the house and dragged Paul to the woods. I sighed as Bella got out the truck.
"Bella, I warn you; I'm not going to start a war with your leech for crossing the border now, but you need to leave" growled Sam through grit teeth, and Bella shook her head while sending me dirty glares.
"No; Jake's hurt, I need to see him" I gritted my teeth. I was aware that I didn't put my mind shield up and I looked at Edward.
'Get your Bella out of her right now before I strike her down where she stands' I thought, and for good measure I sent him images of making her heart explode. His eyes widened and he growled at me and took a defensive position around Swan. I smirked
'He thinks he could beat us' Whispered Sia and I shrugged. I saw the confused look on his face and smiled.
'There's a hell of a lot of things you will never know about me' I snarled to him in my mind and he winced at the venom of my inside voice.
"Bella we should go" he said and I smiled; at least someone was using their brain.
"You're Bella?" Oh Shit… I forgot about Genevieve. While I was threatening the vampire I accidentally let my spell ware down. She was now leaning on a tree in the front yard smiling like the devil was on her shoulder.
"Yes" said Bella rudely; she was glaring at her and I shook my head.
'Look Edward; I'm bad enough but my cousin… She is going to kill Bella' I shouted at him through my mind and slowly went to corner Gin
"Genevieve… Stop" I murmured, but she sent me a dark glance
"I know you hate this bitch… you told me; so why don't I just kill her?" I looked at Sam desperately… I didn't want any more blood on my cousin's hands. I shook my head
"I don't hater her that much" 'yes you do' Shut up Sia! Ginny smiled and I saw her hands heat up, and Bella's eyes widen. She shied behind Edward and whimpered; Edward let off a warning growl. I shot her a look.
"Ginny" I yelled and ran to tackle her just as Edward did. He crashed into both of us with such a force, I wondered if I was going to die. I heard the crack of my bone as I hit the tree and the shocked gasp of Bella. I shook my head and felt blood pour down my face… He shouldn't have done that.
I saw Sam shaking as I tried to stand up. I felt dizzy; but worse…I felt mad
"DON'T" I ordered to Sam and he stopped suddenly. I walked over to Genevieve's body and picked her up; shoving her back into the shadow realm, not giving her time to wake up; I looked at Edward and Bella, whose eyes were opened in complete shock. I felt my eyes change as I sent the couple one warning
"You will never come down here again… The pack will not destroy you; I will… Bella; I hate you, can't stand your guts and had no problem watching you die… I just didn't want that on my cousin's conscience. Get. The. Hell. Out. Of. Here" I growled and Edward picked her up and ran her to the truck and drove her away; not wasting anytime.
Sam ran over to me, as I collapsed on the ground; my head pounding. I looked up at him and I could see the thought in his head.
"No; it's not worth it" I whispered as he picked me up and I heard him growl
"He attacked an imprint… Besides, it's not my choice anymore; it's Jacob's"
Bella's been warned for the last time... What will happen?! (Dumdumduuummmm!)
