Stephanie's Pov

Ranger and I had just gotten back from going out to dinner and was settling in to wait for any news on Eden or the babies. The TV they had mounted in the corner was showing some kind of animal program and the other nervous family members who waited on news of their loved ones sat drinking the bitter coffee the hospital had to offer.

"Still no news?" I asked when Ranger sat next to me. He had stopped at the nurses desk to check.

"Still no report of any babies they said"

Getting comfortable, I laid my head on Rangers shoulder and watched what was on TV. Minutes later my eyes closed as I fell asleep from the good food in my belly and the hours of waiting. I don't know how longed I napped, but my eyes shot open as I heard screaming coming from down the hallway. Lifting my head, I saw all the other people who waited with us jump up and run to the mouth of the hallway hoping it wasn't their family in trouble. Ranger and I froze in our tracks as we heard Edens named being screamed and knew it was Lester. Elbowing our way from the onlookers we saw Lester being pushed out of the room Eden was in and he was wild with panic. Ranger and I ran down the hall as he screamed Eden's name over and over and went for the door.

"Les what the hell is going on, is Eden and the babies ok?" I asked as soon as I skidded to a stop next to him. He continued to yell Eden's name and opened the door to the room again ans it was quickly slammed shut in his face.

"EDEN NO EDEN" he yelled and beat on the door. I had seen him mad before, but I had never seen him loose his shit like this.

"SANTOS" Ranger barked and he turned to look at him. I guess no matter the situation, once your commanding officer speaks you listen.

"What happened?" he slowly asked

"Eden gave birth to the babies, we were holding them, and then her eyes rolled back into her head and she was gone" he said and I gasped

"Gone?" I asked. How could that be? She was just fine and gave birth to her babies.

"I heard them say she was bleeding"

"So we really don't know if she is gone, gone?" Ranger said

"EDEN" Lester wailed again and rattled the door. I saw movement out of the corner of my eyes and turned to see two hospital security guards heading our way.

"Ranger" I alerted him

Ranger turned from Les and looked to where I was looking and saw the guards approaching. We both knew that if Lester didn't stop he was going to get kicked out and that would lead to a lot of terrible things. Les would not leave and he would make sure of it. He was a solider and leataly trained, no one or thing would get between him and Eden.

"Sir back away from the door" one of the guards said

"EDEN DAMMIT EDEN"

"SIR" the guard said again stepping closer

"MY WIFES IN THERE AND SHE COULD BE DEAD" he yelled to the guards and I was shocked he referred to her as his wife.

"Sir I understand, but you have to quiet down or you will have to leave" he said and Les dismissed him with a look and went back to rattling the door. The guards steeped behind him to apprehend him and Ranger stepped between them.

"I'm Carlos Manoso and I am the head of RangeMan Inc. This man is one of my men and I swear I will have him calm down" he told them and they stepped back to allow Ranger to do what he needed to to do. Ranger stepped in front of Lester and in a flash he had him pinned up against the wall across the hall from Eden's room.

"GET OFF ME" Les struggled, but Ranger held him back

"Easy Cousin" Ranger said looking him in the eye "I get whats going on, but if you don't stop they will take you out of here"

"They wont let me in and she could be dying" he said and his voice cracked. Hearing how much pain and sorrow he was going through broke my heart and tears spilled down my cheeks for my friend.

"I know" Ranger said putting his hand on the back of his neck "Calm down, take some breaths, and ill find out what is going on" he said and Les nodded. The guards seeing that the situation was under control walked away, but I noticed that one didn't go very far. The one guard who stayed in case Lester went ape shit again posted himself in the waiting room. As I watched the two men who I loved have a moment the door to Edens room suddenly opened and a bunch of nurses came running out.

"LESTER" I yelled to get his attention. As he got there they wheeled out two plastic bassinets As they went by I caught a glimpse of a pink bundle and a blue bundle and then it seemed like every nurse ran out of the room and wheeled out the bed. Lester ran and grabbed Eden's hand and looked down at her.

"Eden" he said as Dr. Mitchell came out of the room

"Mr. Santos please, your babies are doing great, but Eden is slipping away. We've packed her with some packing , but she's still bleeding and we needed to get her to the OR STAT"

"WHAT" he asked as he took off running along side her bed

"Her BP is low and her heartbeat is slowing"

"I'm going with her" Les said and Dr. Mitchell stopped running and stopped Lester with her hand on his chest.

"No, you cant go any further. Please go focus on your babies and let us work on her. We will come find you when we have any news" she said and turned to jump on the waiting elevator with Eden and her team.

I watched beside Lester as he stared at the elevator that had taken Eden away. I saw the moment Lester broke and and went to his knees on the floor as huge wrecking sobs tore from his chest and throat. My heart shattered as I fell to my knees and held him, rocking his soothingly as he cried.

"I cant loose her, I cant do this alone, we just got together not to long ago and she agreed to marry me" he cried and I looked up at Ranger and saw the hurt in his eyes.

"I'm sorry" a voice said and I looked over to see a nurse in baby scrubs looking down at us "We have women in several different stages of labor and we need to keep this a calm environment for them"

"Ok" I said and looked up to Ranger who bent over and helped us up from the floor "Come on lets go see the babies" I said to Lester as we led him away from the birthing rooms.

We walked up to the window where the babies sat in the nursery. I went over and told one of the nurses that Lester was the father of the twins that were just born, she smiled and motioned for us to come into a room that had rocking chairs and brought the babies inside. The nurse handed me the baby girl and as I looked down upon her I saw Lester, she looked just like him.

"Oh Lester, they're beautiful" I said as I looked up and saw he was holding his son. Huge fat tears were rolling down his cheeks.

"Mr. Santos we would like to write their names down on their name cards, do we have names picked out for the little ones yet?" the nurse asked

"Uhh yea, Eden wanted the girl to be Maleah and the boy to be LJ, Lester Junior"

"Those are very nice names, I'm Sandy by the way and I'll be the one taking care of your babies"

"Thank you" he said and she gave him a sad smile and nodded

"I don't know if you remember me or not, but I sat across from you on the plane to LAX a few months back. I was worried about your injuries"

"Oh yea. I was on my way to LA for work and to get my girlfriend back" he said and sucked in a breath as he remembered Eden. They're mom she uhh... she's in emergency surgery right now, they don't know if she's gonna make it"

Nurse Sandy placed a hand on his arm and looked up at him with a warm smile "Just have a little faith dear" she said and Les began to cry again

"If you don't mind I'll keep her and all of you in my prayers" she said and Lester shook his head

"I don't mind at all, we need all the help we can get, thank you"

I watched as Les stood there seemingly lost in thought. When he snapped out of it he handed the baby over to the nurse "Excuse me I need to be alone" he said and walked out of the room. We watched as he walked down the hall, I looked up at Ranger and got a tight lipped smile in return. Looking down at the beautiful baby in my arms, my heart sank at the real possibility that she may never get to know her mom, the woman who carried her and kept her safe for nine months.
