Chapter 37
A Night of Passion
The Gentle and Phoenix will make a stand
Against the Creature that threatens the land
Five items they must recover
Will release one and also the other
Once all the items have been found
They must be taken to the Lion's ground
But for the items to work they need a token
Aslan's true name must be spoken
William sat in the armchair reading the words on the paper over and over, he wished he knew what they meant but it seemed that he would never be able to understand them. Then he suddenly had a strange thought, he hurried over to the one of the room's many draws and pulled out a copy of the Bible.
He flicked through the many pages; he read the books many pages until finally he understood how everything fitted together. He would have never expected it but he had no reason to doubt it, as he was thinking he heard a groan and movement behind him and turned around to see Susan lying on the bed slowly opening her eyes.
"Susan" he said placing the bible down
Susan looked up at him and gave him a small smile; he returned it and sat back down in the armchair beside her. She looked around the room and saw that the curtains had been closed at that the lights had been turned on signalling that it was now evening.
"What time is it"? She asked
"About seven, you were out all day" William answered
Susan sighed at that, she placed a hand against her head which ached like hell. Then everything started coming back to her, all the items William had shown her that once belonged to her family and the long lost memories which resurfaced last night.
"Why didn't you tell me"? She demanded suddenly
"Tell you about what"? William asked confused
"Why didn't you tell me about the items that belonged to my family, you've had them all this time and you never told me" Susan shouted causing the surprised William to stare at her in shock.
He didn't answer he just sat there staring at her like she was a complete stranger; Susan however got off the bed and glared at him with hands on her hips. Finally William found his voice once more and answered the question.
"You weren't ready" he whispered
"What do you mean I wasn't ready"?
"I was afraid that if I showed you those items before you were ready then they would trigger repressed memories, which they did" William argued
Susan just growled in anger and sat back down on the bed again, William just sighed before he moved over to his chest and started pulling out his old Narnian clothes. Susan was confused at this; she followed him over to the chest and just watched him for a few minutes.
"What are you doing" She asked
"I'm getting ready for tonight"
"What's happening tonight"?
"Tonight it ends" he replied
Susan was confused at that for a few seconds, then her eyes widened as she understood his meaning. He ignored her expression and carried the clothes over to bed and laid them down and stared at them.
"You're going to attack tonight" Susan whispered
"Yes, Kadius will try to release Tash tonight I know it" he answered
"How do you know"? She asked
"Because I taught him, I understand how he thinks"
"So you're going to go in there alone and get yourself killed" Susan shouted
"If that what must be done to save this world then yes"
Susan couldn't believe what was happening, she couldn't let William go in there alone but she was afraid that he was being too reckless. Yes they had to move fast but they still needed a strategy of how they were going to attack.
"William this is madness, you're not thinking" Susan pleaded
"Well it seems that the Queen Susan of old has returned" William mumbled in reply
Susan sighed at that, yes she remembered the other world she visited with her siblings but that person died with that world. However now that she had regained her memories it seemed that William wanted the person she used to be, the person he had fallen in love with.
"William that person no longer exists" she said sadly
"Susan how can you say that, after everything you've remembered how can you say that person no longer exists"!
"And the person you used to be, are you saying you're still that man" she countered
"I don't know, but people still believe in the man who I used to be" William responded
Susan sighed and turned around; she began pacing in front of him trying to think of how she would persuade him to halt the attack. However as Susan turned back around to talk to him again she found his back to her.
"William look at me"
William didn't respond she heard him sigh but he did not face her, she became angry at that and walked forward. She grabbed him by the arm and spun him around where he now glared at her with those powerful emerald green eyes.
"Don't you get it Susan; the whole of the world is at stake which means we must stop Kadius and Tash tonight"! He yelled
"All I'm saying is that we must think about this" Susan shouted back
"There isn't time"
Susan couldn't take it anymore; she lunged at William and started pummelling her fists against his chest. Everything that had happened recently was now being released, all the times she had been in danger, Sophia's death and the memory overload was now being let out of her in anger.
William didn't even flinch or even try and stop her, he allowed her to take her anger and fury out on him. Eventually she stopped and just glared at him while breathing heavily; she sighed and turned away from him but William stopped her by holding her arm.
"Let go of me" she demanded
William didn't answer; instead he crushed his lips against hers. The suddenness of it caught Susan off guard and she didn't respond, then she tried to fight him but it was no good. Finally Susan couldn't resist it anymore; she flung her arms around his neck and began kissing him back.
His arms wrapped around her waist causing the kiss to deepen, they were both pouring so much emotion into the kiss that Susan's toes were beginning to curl at the impact. Soon William had lifted her up in his strong arms, she wrapped her legs around his waist as he pushed her up against the wall still not breaking the kiss.
Susan let her hands explore William's arms and shoulders as he broke the kiss and began kissing her neck which caused her to moan in pleasure. She reached for his shirt and started to undo it as he met her eyes which showed so much love that Susan's heart seemed to melt.
Susan pushed his shirt off his torso revealing his broad and muscular shoulders; she let her hands travel down his chest and along his abdomen. She could feel the strong body underneath her palms and her pulse quickened even more, she pulled his lips to hers as her hands travelled along his back.
His magical fingers made the way to the buttons of her blouse and slowly started to undo them, usually Susan would have stopped this ages ago but it felt so right with him that she just couldn't stop herself.
When her buttons were undone William slowly pushed it back so that her creamy white shoulders were revealed. William stared into her eyes again before he bent his head forward and began kissing the beautiful skin of her shoulders.
Susan closed her eyes at the pure bliss of his touch, his warm lips felt magical against her skin. They had both lost control of themselves and now were just going with what their eager bodies wanted to do.
William pushed her blouse off the rest of the way and discarded it on the floor, he then moved away from the wall and carried her to the bed where he laid her down and looked at the beautiful woman who he loved with all his heart.
At that moment William and Susan finally gave into their desires, this was more than just their lust; this was their love, their passion and their emotions all at once. In that moment both knew as they expressed their love for one another that the moment would be everlasting and they would never forget it.
Kadius stood in the bell tower once again staring out over Finchley, the clouds had darkened so much that it seemed no light on earth would be able to penetrate it. He heard footsteps behind him and saw Quigley hurrying up the stairs.
He sighed at the pathetic human and wondered how someone like Quigley could even be the same race as someone like William, it was a question which caused his brain to ache. Quigley stopped and bowed in front of Quigley, he did not look him in the eye however as he was afraid what would happen if he did.
"Quigley, is everything ready for tonight"? Kadius asked
"Yes my lord, soon our master will enter this world" Quigley answered with glee
"Yes Quigley, now I want the men positioned around the church tonight as William is coming" Kadius ordered
"Yes my lord, where do you want me"?
"You Quigley will stay in the chamber, you must make sure nobody interferes with the ritual do you understand"?
"Yes my lord"
"Good now go" he commanded
Quigley scurried off down the stairs where he passed Victoria, she was wearing a dark red dress and for a moment Kadius forgot how to breathe as he stared at her. However the look on her face showed that she was not thinking about compliments.
"So you've completed your quest and now you are going to release a demon that is going to bring the apocalypse down upon us" Victoria said coldly
"I have too, you can't imagine the power he possess" Kadius replied
Victoria shook her head and moved closer to the edge of the bell tower where she could see the lights of Finchley glistening in front of her. She shook with fear knowing that soon everything in front of her would be in flames.
"Victoria, he is terrifying and terrible but if we are loyal to him he will reward us and we will be safe" Kadius assured wrapping his arms around her waist.
"And would you able to live with the guilt of causing so many deaths"? She asked pushing his hands away and turning to face him.
"If means you are safe then yes" he replied
Victoria shook her head and turned back to face the city in front of her, there were no stars and no moon visible in the sky which showed that darkness had truly arrived on Earth. Kadius watched her and knew that she was disappointed in him and disgusted by his part in bringing down the world.
"Hopefully one day Victoria you will understand the choice I made and one day you will accept me for who I am"
Kadius then turned and left the tower, as he walked down the stairs he kept his grip on the hilt of Calgri as he knew soon that he would be using it against William. It would be a tough fight but it would be a fight of legend.
William and Susan laid in the bed, their clothes were abandoned on the floor around them. Susan had her head on his chest as he held her; slowly his hand stroked her bare back sending goose bumps all through her body.
"I wish I could lie here all day" William said with a sigh
"Me too" Susan replied placing a hand on his chest
They both knew that soon they would need to go and fight Kadius, it would be hard but together they knew they could achieve anything. So after laying there for a few more minutes they both got out of bed and proceeded to get ready.
Soon William stood in a Narnian style blue tunic and dark brown leggings and black boots. Susan had dressed herself in a green Narnian dress which William had stored in his chest for safe keeping.
William attached Excalibur to his belt and strapped his bow and arrows to his back; he put a dagger into his belt and then put another one into his boot a habit which he had gained during his time as High Protector.
Susan had attached her quiver full of arrows to her back, she picked up Lucy's cordial and attached it to her belt along with Rhindon with gave off the weird feeling of Peter like his spirit now flowed through her.
She picked up her bow and turned to see William smiling at her; she smiled back and blushed under his gaze. He still somehow managed to make her stomach backflip even after everything that happened that night.
"What is it"? Susan asked him still smiling
"The way you are now, it shows that you are once again the Archer Queen you used to be" he explained
"Well the way you are now shows me that the Phoenix has indeed risen again" Susan replied walking forward and placing a small kiss on his lips.
"Then my Gentle Queen, let us share one more adventure together" He replied
William then led Susan out of the room and out of the hotel; rain was beginning to fall again. However William and Susan both felt the happiest they could feel at the moment knowing whatever happened that night nothing could destroy their love for one another.
