AN: Okay, this chapter starts "The Time of the Lost Notebook" which basically means I left my notebook sitting around school and it hasn't been seen since. Since I had almost the entire notebook filled with filler, and don't remember a single thing besides this chapter, after this one I'm skipping ahead to the beginning of their fourth year. Sorry not sorry, my lovelies.
Chapter 35
About a week later, Vix approached me with her 'idea' look on her face. "New Year's party. Room of Requirement. Tonight."
I just gave her this blank, 'no fucking way' look.
"Not kidding," she informed me.
So that's how, that night, we and a ton of our friends were gathered in the Room of Requirement. I was surprised that the sixth and seventh years weren't having their usual holiday party here, but Oliver informed me that because of the Sirius Black incidents, they didn't want to risk getting caught, especially intoxicated. I could understand that.
However, things suddenly got bad once the majority of the partiers left. Who was left was only me, Oliver, Vix, Cedric, the twins, and their girlfriends.
"Let's play a game," Angelina suggested.
"Like what?" Alicia asked.
"Oh oh oh!" Vix said, raising her hand enthusiastically and practically bouncing. "Truth or dare!"
"Boring," I said, and a few people nodded in agreement.
"Spin the bottle?"
"No," I disagreed.
"Seven minutes in heaven?"
"If I say yes, can the next game we play not have something to do with kissing?" I asked.
"Truth or dare doesn't have anything to do with kissing," she argued.
"Oh, yes it does. 'I dare you to kiss this person I know you like but who isn't your boyfriend/girlfriend just to embarrass you and them and piss everyone else off.' That's always how that game works, and don't even try to deny it."
"Fine. Seven minutes in heaven and then we can do something boring like play cards," Vix agreed.
"I'm detecting a hint of reasonably-priced sarcasm," I said. "Roll back the attitude, love."
"Ohhhhh, Thathy Bex," she said, then thought about it. "No, doesn't work too well with your name."
I rolled my eyes as everyone reading—cough, I mean listening to—our conversation was lost in confusion. Sad to say those people never got an explanation.
Vix found an empty glass bottle, probably from a butterbeer I'd guess, and spun it. "Practice spin," she said as it was stopping on—me. "Unless you really wanna meet me in a closet, Bex," she added, giggling.
"Pass," I said. "Who's going first then?"
"I'll go!" Alicia suddenly jumped up excitedly. She spun the bottle and it landed on—george.
"Lucky bitch," he said seductively, practically chasing her to the closed door on the other side of the room. Vix, who had somehow acquired a stopwatch, started the timer.
After seven minutes, Vix went over and knocked on the door, screaming, "Get your clothes back on! Time's up!"
"Vix!" we scolded her mildly for her comment.
"What? You can't deny that it would have taken them like 5 minutes to get out of there if I hadn't said that," she said, just as they came out of the closet.
"Okay, fair enough," I agreed, laughing at their embarrassed and frazzled looks.
"For your information, Vix," George said, "no clothes came off."
"Suuuuuuuuure, they didn't," she said sarcastically.
The two of them sat back down in their places in the circle, and Fred reached for the bottle.
"Ah ah ah," Vix said, stopping him. "George has to spin it. He was the one it landed on last time."
George rolled his eyes and hesitantly spun the bottle. It landed on Oliver.
Vix laughed. "Okay we're gonna be nice and bend the rules. If you land on someone of the same gender you can choose whether you go in or spin again."
"What would I want to do with George?" Oliver asked.
"Beat him up?" Vix suggested jokingly, but something told me that the idea really appealed to my apparently slightly psychopathic boyfriend.
George saying, "I'm just gonna spin again then," told me that I wasn't the only one who thought that.
He spun the bottle again and it landed on me. I rolled my eyes. We got up silently—I was ignoring the looks from Alicia and Oliver, I wasn't sure if George was—and we entered the closet. George closed the door behind me and pressed me against the door, kissing me roughly. Then he pulled away and sat down on one side of the closet. I sat down on the other and we sat in awkward silence as I counted down the minutes.
7 minutes.
6 minutes.
"Sorry about that kiss, by the way," George said in a tone that made me think he wasn't.
"Fine."
5 minutes.
4 minutes.
"So how's Oliver?" he asked.
"Wouldn't you know, seeing as he's our quidditch captain and in our house?"
"Right.
3 minutes.
2 minutes.
"So nice weather we're having." (AN: I would like to point out that at the moment, I, the writer, am having the opposite of nice weather.)
"Really?" I asked. "The weather?"
"It was too quiet!"
1 minute.
Once time was up, Vix opened the door. "Ha!" she said. "They're not snogging! Fred, you owe me 5 galleons!"
I thought I also heard a few shouts of "Good!" from the circle, but I didn't think much of it. Honestly, I was just glad to be out of the closet, because it was really awkward in there.
After like, ten more turns, when I got to be in the closet with Oliver, and Vix was in there with Fred twice (but never Ced, poor guy), we decided that was enough and played cards until about three in the morning (we had sort of forgotten about celebrating New Years at midnight and instead said "Happy new year" at 3 when we split up in front of the Gryffindor common room, each couple getting a new year's kiss at 3 with the excuse, "It's midnight somewhere, isn't it?"). When Vix and I got to our dorm, Angelina and Alicia were suspiciously not there, so I'm guessing Vix took that opportunity, because she asked, "What did you and George do in the closet?"
"It was mostly awkward silence, honestly. And then he made some comment about the weather. Not kidding. He did." I paused. "What about you and Fred?" I asked with a smirk.
"We played 'Go Fish,'" she replied simply.
"What?" I asked. "No fucking way!"
"We did! Both times! We found a deck of cards and we played 'Go Fish' the whole time. The second time, we continued our interrupted game from the first time. I beat him all three games. It was exciting."
AN: I have to say, this chapter turned out better than I remember it being the first time xD
