Kira looked into the night sky. The sky was clear and lit by many stars, the air warm.
"Beautiful evening, huh." Kira breathed, smiling.
"Mmm." Ben replied quietly, as he stood next to Kira, his arms folded.
"You nervous Ben?" Kira looked out the corner of her eye.
"No." Ben folded his arms tighter. Kira turned her head, raised her eyebrows and tilted her head. "Alright, yes... I am. I don't think anyone realizes how dangerous this is going to be." Ben glanced at Kira who looked at the stars once more. Ben relaxed a little, "You're not nervous are you?"
Kira shook her head, "Ben I can't say I'm not nervous, even a little worried... But I know I've gotta keep my shit together. When the group relies on me... I'll be ready to help. You need to be that person too Ben. Hey I might even go as far to say there's a part of me that's slightly excited!" Kira added laughing.
Ben nodded in agreement, Yeah, Kira's right. I will keep my shit together, and I will help tonight... I'll show them I'm useful!
Kenny came out the shed as Clementine and Lee exited the house.
"Check out what I found in the garage. Hatchet, hacksaw, some other tools. Might come in handy on this little break-in."
"Can I have a word with you a minute." Kenny asked, dragging Lee to the side. Clementine came over and joined Kira and Ben.
Kira smiled as Clementine gave her a hug, "You ready for this kiddo?"
Clementine smiled back, "I'm ready... Lee says I could be a big help."
Kira crouched down on Clementine's level, "After all you've done for us so far Clem, I'm sure you will!" Kira chuckled tipping Clementine's hat.
The group's heads turned as they heard the gates slowly swing open. Vernon walked casually to the group, followed by a larger lady, with long brown hair.
Kenny was the first to jump on the situation, "Who the hell is this?"
"This is Brie, she can help us." Brie smiled at the group as Vernon introduced her.
Lee stepped forward to join Kenny, "Help us how?"
"I was a student where Crawford keeps their supplies. I know the layout."
Vernon put a hand on her shoulder, "With her help we're in and out faster. Anyone have a problem with that?"
Lee shook his head, "I guess not."
Molly stood up, folding the map and putting it in her backpack. She put her hood up, as she walked forward, "Then what are we waiting for? Let's get moving."
As Everyone began to head to the gate, Lee crouched down in front of Clementine, "Hold up just a sec... You ready?"
Clementine smiled, "Ready."
Vernon's mouth dropped open, "Whoa, hold on a minute. You're not taking her with us... Did you not hear anything I said about the kind of place Crawford is? If you take her in and they find her-"
Lee stood up, "This little girl's not just excess baggage. She's gotten us out of a tight spot more than once. Besides, I'm not leaving her alone in this house with only Omid to protect her. Just not happening... She's coming guys. Deal with it."
Kenny held his arm out, exhaling quietly, "You heard the man. Let's move out."
Ben handed an axe to Lee and Kira as they exited the gates.
