Tick tock the time is ticking for Kallie to happen! I just need to get a few filler chapters out of the way before the Ball scene, trust me it's going to be great! Here's to me not updating for such a long time. 4 chapters in 2 days! I'm proud. Ok anywayssss on to the chapter!
She had 5 days! 5 days to ask Oliver Wood to the Ball so she could prove that she didn't like him. Which she didn't. She just needed to do it. Right?
"Hey Oliver, can we go to the ball together?"
"Of course!"
Katie rolled her eyes as Rosalinda and Oliver sat on the couch snogging right in front of her. And her date had just been asked. Wonderful. What was she going to tell Leanne and Rosie.
"She asked him before I could even ask him!" Katie explained.
"We told you like a week ago to do this!" Rosie said.
"It's alright." Leanne said. "I mean we don't need you to prove anything anymore. At least we know you tried."
"Yeah." Katie said. "I did."
"Well I kept my part of the bargain, and asked Draco Malfoy." Rosie said grinning.
"You werent kidding?" Leanne asked.
"Nope."
"What did he say?" Katie asked. "Yes?"
"He said he had to go with Parkinson. But I'm sure he doesent want to." Rosie said. "At least I'll have a dance with him."
"What? He promised you a dance."
"In a way, yes." Rosie grinned. She turned to Leanne. "So I guess you have to ask Terrence."
Leanne nodded "Of course." just as Katie said "You don't have to you know."
"I well it's only fai-"
"I think you should do it." Rosie said quietly. "I mean Katie and I did our parts and we're in this together." She looked pointedly at Leanne who just nodded.
"Ok. I'll do it."
"Good. Now go."
"Now?"
"Well when else, the Ball is 5 days away."
Leanne just glared at Rosie who was grinning. Katie shook her head. Rosie was just so Rosie.
"Hey, Katie?"
"Oh hey Terrence." Katie said "What's up?"
"I was wondering if you would, you know like to come to the ball with me?"
Katie looked towards Leanne and Rosie who were as shocked as her. Rosie said nothing but looked at Leanne who just nodded and smiled.
"I - I'd love to!"
"Great!" Terrence said and then without warning leaned down to kiss Katie on the cheek. Katie nearly died. Her crush had just asked her out...dreams do come true she supposed. Her grin was barely concealed and she was sure she was turning tomato red/
"How are you Rachel? Leanne?" He asked realizing they were just there.
"We're fine." Rosie said standing up abruptly. "Leanne and I need to get to Charms. See you later Kate!"
Leanne had never felt it till now. She had tried to hide it, to bury it somewhere because she felt guilty. Her best friend liked him, so how could she? And now it was real and Katie was happy and Leanne had never felt so lonely. She wasn't the only one.
Mikaela Ray had skipped the Hogsmeade trip crying because Courtney had asked Randall Bishop to the Ball and he had said yes. Rosie had spent the entire day with them both trying to make them feel better.
"At least they're happy." Rosie said hugging them. "But we're not going to let that stop us. We're going to look great and show them what they're missing."
Mikaela nodded. "Unless you have French designer dresses, I don't see how that's going to happen."
"Actually," Rosie (AKA Rachel) grinned "I do."
"What is this place?"
"Hogwarts very own own speakesie." Mikaela said pointing to the place proudly. "Non-alcoholic of course. Just Butterbeer and food and music."
"Is it legal?"
"How am I just learning about this?" Leanne asked. "And I've been here for 5 years!"
"It started as a get together place for Hufflepuff's after the exams but I guess as more and more people know about it it grew." There were an awfully lot of people here Rosie noticed.
"So anyone can come?" Rosie eyed the place. It was dark with lights around the stage where people could sing and dance. In the corner there was a bar with drinks(non-alcoholic of course.) and chairs and tables were set around the place.
"Well Ernie Macmillan, you know the 4th year had started it after some girl Susan Bones in his grade had a breakdown after a final exam. It was just a couple of them but now its open to everyone." Mikaela said proudly "People come here to talk others and just let out their feelings."
"I think it's brilliant!" Rosie cried. "Then let's make a pact to drink until we forget what we came here for!"
"We're not getting drunk." Mikaela said giggling for the first time that night.
"Of course not!" Leanne said disappearing into the crowd.
Rosie nodded and took a seat at the bar. "A butterbeer please."
The bar tender was most likely a 7th year. He eyed her curiously before handing her a butterbeer. Rosie drank and drank and drank. She had always wanted a place where she could be herself and not Rachel Veronese. A place where she didn't need to act like she was happy and oh so content with life. A place where she could cry when she wanted to and not have to laugh to cover it up. It came to a point where the bartender had to stop giving her drinks.
"Hey!"
"I think you've had enough." he said gently.
"Please, It's the only way to forget everything else around me."
"Why would you want to forget it?"
"That's my business." Rosie said. "You can't stop me hehehe."
The bartender looked at her before handing her a drink.
"Hehe thank you!" Rosie said. "Have you always had that scar on your arm?"
The bartender looked amused. "So you've noticed?"
"I see all. Know all." Rosie said. "Divorced or gone?"
"Divorced." He said. "Dad left when I was 8. Now it's just me and my mom."
"Same." Rosie said. "But then she couldn't handle it, so I'm on my own now."
"All by yourself?" He asked as Rosie nodded.
"I'm a big girl. I can take care of my self." She said proudly as he handed her another drink.
"I bet you are, but sometimes you need people."
"Ha!" Rosie laughed. "People aren't there when you need them. I'm better off on my own."
"Theres always a reason for everything." She didn't even know when he had come to sit next to her. "You just need to let them in."
"You can believe that if you want." Rosie said laughing. "What is it you want to be?"
"I just want to do something for others around me, make some like changing event that would make everyone happy."
"You want to be noticed."
"Something like that."
"How's that working for you?"
"I get noticed by the wrong people." He laughed and Rosie laughed with him.
"I know you now!" She laughed. "Don't give up yet, just be yourself, don't hude behind a mask and people will see you."
"Look who's talking." He said looking at her.
"I'm me ok. I'm just a girl who want's to find a place where she can be real." She felt the room spinning. "I'm Rachel Veronese, the Hufflepuff who's good at helping everyone. I'm going to make Kallie happen and Leannce and it's going to work out, and why are you spinning in circles?"
"Rosie!" That was a voice she knew.
"She drank a little too much."
"Oh haha, my friend she's a bit clumsy. In Gryffindor you know."
"Of course. This way."
She only heard snippets before it went dark.
Surely no one would notice if there were 2 Rachel Veronese's floating around in this place? Leanne just needed to lay low and drink until she could forget him. And she didn't want anyone to know it was her. Besides Rosie had enough for one month, she wouldn't miss on hair.
"Oliver?" Leanne clamped a hand over her mouth. She was Rachel now, she didn't know who he was.
He squinted. "Leanne?"
She gasped. Did it not work? She looked at herself. She was Rachel Veronese...oh Oliver was drunk.
"Does Katie still talk about me?" His voice was slurred. Leanne almost gagged. She thought they didn't have alcohol here. So much for that.
"Um yes."
"She's happy yes?"
"Yeah." Leanne said unsure where this was going.
"She's the best chaser on the whole ruddy team!" Oliver grinned. "Don't tell Angie and Alicia I said that. They would kill me."
"I wouldn't dare."
"Too bad she's in love with Terrence." Leanne looked up. "I would have asked her to the Ball and given her her valentines gift. I had to pre-order and Merlin it took forever but I got the ruddy chocolates she likes. The one with hazelnuts in them and the thing on the outside. But she likes Terrence and I love h-"
He slumped out on to the table. Leanne gasped.
"Oh I got this." A kid with brown hair and blue eyes grinned. "Oliver's my friend, don't worry about it."
Leanne nodded and looked around. If there was alcohol here she needed to find Rosie and Mikaela. She looked down at herself. The Polyjuice had worn off an hour ago OMG ROSIE. Being Rosie she probably didn't care enough to take her poly-juice every hour.
Sure enough Rosie as Rosie not Rachel was sitting next to some 7th year at the bar. And then she fell. Leanne ran before she could think about what to say.
"Oh I'm so sorry about this." The 7th year said. "She had alot to drink."
"Oh haha, my friend she's a bit clumsy. She's in Gryffindor. You know how they are."
"Of course. She'll be fine once she drinks this."
"Thank you." Leanne said. "From where -"
"Of course. Right this way." The 7th year nodded and let them out helping Leanne carry Rosie.
Once they had found Mikaela, Leanne sighed. Thank god the 7th year hadn't recognized that Rosie wasn't a Hogwarts student. Leanne had learned more from this trip than she had known before. And Katie, what would she say to her. Katie had to know but she was going with Terrence and she was happy...
"I think Randall hates me." Mikaela said. "I mean he talks to everyone except me. It's like he purposefully ignores me. He even talks to Rachel more than me and I he didn't even know who she was until this year. Where is she anyway?"
"Oh she left before us. I think she drank too much."
"Oh, and who's she?" Mikaela pointed to the unconsciousness Rosie Leanne was carrying.
"Katie friend. I have to take her to the common room, see you in a bit?"
"Yeah sure."
Leanne closed her eyes against the stone wall. What did someone do in a situation like this?
