Chapter 37

Welcome Back! I do apologise I have had technical difficulties with my laptop... Sorry about the two week wait but it's worth the wait right? because this is the chapter all of you were waiting for!

We're getting closer to 40... Oh God... Anyway without further a due

BTW: ITALICS PAST AND NORMAL-PRESENT :P

Percy POV

For the first time in 767 years I let my emotions out. Many had only seen me as a strong leader but tonight they saw me as a human. Zack had pushed me to my breaking limits. This is what he had planned all along. He never came to fight. He brought the Army because he didn't know what my reaction would be. However he must have known that it would either be anger or sadness. Anyone could have figured that out.

I now sat around a table with all the Commanders, Gods and Cabin leaders. I just stared at the table with no expression. My thoughts were interrupted.

"Percy. Whenever I feel sad I always think it's best to talk about it." Crystal suggested in her usual soft tone.

I nodded. I took a deep breathe and let it go.

"Years ago I asked Chaos to get rid of one memory. One that I didn't want to remember. He told me that getting rid of memories is like taking apart who we are today. Although Chaos told me that he could block the memory out so I don't have nightmares about it or if I'm just thinking. I can remember it whenever I focus on it or I see something that reminds me of it. This is what really happened" Percy explained to them heavily.

Some were confused. Some understood. The Commanders knew that Chaos could block out memories if he needed to but they had never thought he had actually done it before to anyone.

"My Mom and Paul in my blocked out memories died in a fire and I saw it over an Iris Message a few weeks before I ran the night I saw Annabeth and him together that night I went to Iris Message my Mom. When I did,I...I saw flames and heard shouting and screams." Percy closed his eyes and took another deep breath.

I ran back to my cabin after seeing the only person I had thought I had left. No now I was all alone at camp. Nobody wanted me here. I packed a bag with all the things I would take back to my Mom's apartment. I didn't want to just go before telling her anything. I manipulated the water and then threw a drachma into the mist. Flames was all I could see. I heard Paul shout trying to find my Mom. I heard a scream and then I ran out of my cabin.

"I ran out of the Cabin and went to the creek. I vapour travelled all the way into my Mom's apartment. The fire was too big for me to handle with water. I tried to find them in the smoke. Paul had fallen and his body was burnt. I was too late to save him." I said with my eyes still closed. If I opened them I knew tears would threaten to spill again.

I vapour travelled into my home. All you could see was smoke and the blazing fire. I heard a yell as Paul fell into the flames. He was engulfed by red. The fir erupted higher as it swallowed the man's body.

"PAUL!" I screamed while trying to get past the fire.

"I ran through the fire looking for my Mom. I didn't care if I got burnt as long as she survived. I finally found her in the corner of the room surrounded by flames." The tears fell anyway.

"MOM!? MOM!?" I shouted still looking for her through the dancing red waves that filled the apartment. I heard a whimper in the corner. I ran through the fire careful not to fall through the floor. "Mom." I whispered to make her look up. She looked at me with hope. That wasn't the only thing I saw in her eyes though. I saw pain, fear and sadness along with it. I finally reached when...

"I finally got to her. I reached out to try and get us both out of there when..." My voice went low as I thought more about what happened.

"Mom grab my hand. I'll get us out of here." I coughed as I inhaled more smoke. She reached out for my hand and I tried to reach hers. Flames being the only thing that separated us. I would have run through the fire but she was already worried and scared I didn't need to add more on top of that. Our hands were centimetres away from each other. My fingers touched the tips of hers. Suddenly the flames erupted. I fell. Fire burnt my arm and I screamed in pain.

"I reached out..." I repeated. "I was so close to her when th-the fire exploded in front of us. It burnt all of my arm but it caught my shoulder the most. I fell back. She fell as well." I said. I sub-consciously put my hand on my shoulder where the burn-scar was. Tears were still streaming down my face.

After a few seconds I got back up still in agony. My Mom had fell as well. I watched as the fire claimed her. "NOOO!" I screamed. Everything was gone now. Everything and everyone. I couldn't move I was shocked. I didn't move to get to safety I just stood there crying silently as everything around me burned. It was like how my life was going. Everything just disappeared from my clutches. The Firemen dragged me out of the place which was my home.

"We both fell...But the only difference was that she wouldn't ever get back up again." I released all the tears I held back. Ashley put her arm around me trying to comfort me. It helped ever so slightly.

" They had to drag me out. I was rushed to the hospital. They healed the burns as best as they could on my arm but they could do much." I continued in barely a whisper.

"That's when I went to camp and took my stuff and left. It was my fault that she died if only I had been a little faster or if I just stepped into the fire to save her. She might have survived." I sobbed.

"Percy. It was not your fault. If Zack hadn't have started the fire it wouldn't have happened. It was his fault not yours. If you had jumped into the flames neither of you would have survived." Crystal said in a soft tone.

I gave a small nod at her words. I shouldn't feel this guilt but I did. I knew that he was to blame but I couldn't stop blaming myself as well. I should have done something. I stood up and walked out. No one followed.

3RD PERSON

Everyone was shocked at what Percy had revealed to them. It was horrible that he had to watch his own parents die in front of him and to have no one to go to when he needed a someone to help him. The Commanders knew the pain of watching someone you loved die in front of you or get injured. Especially when you thought you could have done something to prevent it from happening. One point or another they had all gone through something similar.

Percy walked off and when people were going to go to him Charlie told them to give him some space. The Gods left leaving the Commanders of Chaos and the Immortal Cabin leaders. Charlie walked up to Annabeth and whispered in her ear. She nodded and walked off as well.

PJC37-

Percy walked up to the cliff edge and sat down dangling his legs. He watched the waves restlessly crash against the shore. They matched his Dad's emotions. He was not angry.

Percy felt himself calm as the moon shone. In some manner he felt better now that he wasn't keeping it from everyone but it still pained him to think of it. He sat there staring at nothing. His thoughts swam round his head. He didn't notice when Annabeth sat beside him until she spoke.

"I'm sorry." She whispered.

"It wasn't your fault." Percy replied.

"Yes but I should have been there for you like you always were for me when we got out of Tartarus." Annabeth looked at Percy who had turned to look at her as well.

"I know I can't really make up for all these years but could we still be friends?" She asked uncertainly.

Percy stared into the grey eyes he loved. Percy leant forward and gently brushed his lips with hers. Annabeth put her arms around his neck and kissed him back. They both had been waiting for this for a long time. Percy pulled back but their foreheads rested against each other.

"I was hoping we could be more than friends." Percy whispered.

Annabeth's eyes opened and looked into his sea-green eyes.

"I missed you Sea-weed Brain." She said resting her head on his shoulder now.

"I missed you too, Wise Girl." He softly replied.

OKAY I know it is a shorter chapter than usual but I thought I would keep this one shorter due to it's very informative way.

I do apologise to those who didn't want Annabeth and Percy getting back together but I kind of saw this story going that way. At least I put it nearer to the end so you didn't have to dislike the whole story.

The reason that it was so easy for Zack to trick everyone was because he was getting help from Order but that will come up in the next chapter I think I am not completely sure what I am going to write next because I had planned this chapter and last chapter but I hadn't actually sorted what is happening in the next so wish me luck! I am glad he has forgave his father as well because now I can make them have more appearances in the story the same with other characters because it is really hard to do when he is avoiding them haha! I am glad you liked the fight in the last chapter! Zack brought an Army just in case he didn't know what Percy's reaction would be to the confrontation and the plan went wrong as well so... The talk between Zack & Percy was to in a way weaken Percy and because Order had already tried physically they now tried emotionally. Percy and Poseidon will become family again. The ending was sad but sweet I think... well thats what I wanted it to be anyway haha! Thank You! Keep R&R!

Thank you, thank you very much! Yep I wanted it to be dramatic when they became reunited again and what better way than to make some one depressingly sad... Anyway I am glad you liked the fight last chap. I do believe that EVERYONE hates Zack even I hate him and I created him! I was tempted to make him and Percy fight a little but I had put a fight scene in already so I thought that I would keep fighting to minimum and Order doesn't want Zack to fight him he wants him to 'stick to the plan'...Yeah the weakness was to show exactly that. He is still human and can be weak and isn't alway the strong leader everyone see's him as. This chapter wasn't as big because I thought it best that it didn't have too much in it because the next part of the story will include a LOT of stuff that would drone out the two main things that happened this chapter. I am getting quite a few reviews which take me longer to write but I do enjoy replying to everyone of them! I guess it's a good and a bad thing! Sorry about the Update timing ... I did tell everyone at the top of the story why it was late... It was late because my laptop was acting like a piece of sh*t (excuse my language). The name wasn't that original also I thought it would give the whole chapter away but I guess it didn't well not that much anyway! PS: Anyone notice I tried to go American using Mom instead (I AM BRITISH) so it's all very strange to me. I only tried using Mom because well most my viewers are American and the fact that it is an American franchised book? Anyway I better go now (IT IS NOW CLASSED AS DECEMBER!)
