Chapter 37: Monday Night

***Jordon's POV***

I was spacing out as I held Olivia's hand and we sat together on the couch, we had just been just talking about anything and everything; music we liked, art, tattoos we wanted, partying we'd done, concerts we'd seen, you name it. How long had it been since I had felt like this? I thought to myself. For these last ten months all I've really known is sitting in my room drinking, doing almost nothing but writing mostly sad verses and songs, staring at my walls for hours, thinking of absolutely nothing because what was the goddamn point? I was pulled out of my thoughts by her laughter coming from beside me, it was about something the guys were doing. They were shouting and playing Soul Caliber V, and apparently Funny had just annihilated Jorel.

"So anyway I really want to go to college but I don't know where yet," she says to me, her face is lit up as she tells me about it.

"Oh yeah?! What do you want to go to school for?" I ask.

"Well I'm really into journalism," she smiles "...and I would like to maybe be a reporter someday," that smile of hers made me smile back. It almost always did... I was back into my own thoughts again.

What is it that makes me so crazy about her? What is it about her smile that makes me get this feeing inside me? It was another feeling that I didn't know I would ever experience again.

"Do you know where you want to go?" I ask, trying to pay attention to Olivia. I probably look like an asshole right now...

She gives me kind of a weird look like a 'what the hell' look. Uh-oh what was that? "Uh, I still have no idea," she scowls, "plus I need the money for tuition, books, fees, and such," she rolls her eyes, "but I have another job now so..." she trails off.

All of a sudden I had a realization. It was the way her hair smelt as she laid on my chest in the morning because she had just washed it the night before, it was those butterflies I got in my stomach when she said my name or when she put her arms around me unexpectedly. It was the the chills I got down my spine when she kissed my neck. It was the way I smiled when I thought about her. And it was her smile, too. It was the most beautiful one I had ever seen. That was the point. That was what I had been needing for so long. Was Olivia just what I had been needing?

"Jordon?" she pulls me out of my thoughts, her free hand was on my shoulder. I bring my attention to her even though I was looking at her the whole time I was spacing out. She was looking at me, a bit concerned.

"Are you okay, you seem kind of... distant,"

"Yeah, I was just thinking...a lot..." I trailed off

"About what?" She says, eager to know.

I lower my voice, not wanting my roommates to clue in on the soft moment I was having. "It's just... I really really like you Olivia. You're really cute and funny and talented." I put my forehead to hers, "and that scares me a little bit,"

"And why's that?" She whispers flashing that gorgeous smile of hers.

I take her into my arms, hers wrap around me "because I didn't know if I would ever feel anything again, and I don't want to blow this, whatever it may be," I confess into her ear.

"Jordon..." She hugs me tighter. I could feel her heart pounding.

After a minute we pull apart and Olivia just looks at me for a second, and starts kissing me. Like she's telling me it's okay... I could never get enough of this woman, get enough of her soft lips on mine, get enough of her smile, enough of her skin against mine.

"Hey you two break it up!" I hear Jorel say.

I pull away from her "hey fuck off!" I say, and I grab her and continue kissing her, this time sensually.

"Mmmmm" she moans into my mouth. Hot.

"Mmm" I respond.

She pulls away and smiles.

"H-Hey are you hungry?" She asks, sounding a little short of breath. I still got it.

I'm hungry for you...thoughts of intimacy filled my head. I wanted her riding me, pulling my hair, kissing and sucking on my neck. I bit my lip... and she noticed.

She clears her throat and "Jordon..." Her eyes shift back and forth and she gives me a little smile. I was caught. She leans forward and starts kissing me. Sensually. I put my hands in her hair as she starts to make out with me. She bites my lip all of a sudden and I pull her hair, she quietly moans.

"Kinda, are you?" I pull away and smile back at her.

"Yes, do you wanna go get some Chinese takeout or som-something?" She asks nervously? Brshing a stray piece of hair out of her face.

"Yeah that sounds good!" I grin at her. I definitely still got it. All of a sudden I had an idea working in my mind. We both hop up.

"I have to go get my purse and put some shoes on, I'll be back babe," she smiles and heads for the downstairs.

"Where you guys going?" Matt asks. I turn to him.

"Going for Chinese,"

"Cool man, pick me up something," he pulls his wallet out of his pocket.

"I would but I think I'm gonna take Olivia somewhere,"

"Uh-oh, you gonna put the moves on her?" Dylan laughs.

"None of your business," I said simply, but with a smile. I furthered my idea, maybe we would drink that wine tonight, I grab the wine and a couple of glasses out of the cabinet and rush to stash them in the back seat of my car, I wedged them in between some stuff so they didn't get broken, and I wrapped the wine up in a jacket I had in my back seat and made sure I put it where nothing would happen to it. I'd be really upset if anything happened to it.

I close my door and lock my car like nothing ever happened then I decide since I'm out here to light up a cigarette, and wait for her to come out, facing away from the door.

"Okay babe, I'm ready," I turned around to see her standing on the stairs and as I walked to her she meets me at the bottom of the stairs. I snake my arm around her shoulders and begin leading her to the car.

"Let's go," I say, planting a kiss on her head. We get in my car. I know exactly where I would take her. "I wanna do something," I say as I start my car.

"Okay," Olivia say cheerfully.

"Let's get some Chinese and go somewhere," I grin at her.

"Where?"

I pull out of the yard, "a surprise, I hope that's okay?" I ask. I hope she was down with this.

"Yeah, that sounds nice," she nods and smiles at me.

I head for the Chinese place closest to where I wanted to take Olivia, this look out just west of town where you could see the city and all the stars due to there only being a couple of street lamps up there. I was getting kind of excited about this, I was almost nervous. What the shit Jordon. I thought to myself.

"Hey! I love this song!" Olivia exclaims from beside me, she turns the radio up and it's Behind Blue Eyes. She begins singing along.

"Me too," we drive and listen to the radio. I smile to myself as I focus on traffic.

"What are you smiling about?" She asks, I hear the amusement in her voice.

I was caught. Again. "You. You're cute." I couldn't make anything up.

"You're cute too!" She laughs, playing shoving me.

"Well thank you," I laugh back.

"So where are you planning on taking me?"

I shake my head "I could tell you, but I feel like it would ruin it,"

"Alright," she smiles, "I love a good surprise." She puts her hand on my thigh, leans over and kisses me on the cheek. Something so innocent, so simple yet it made my heart skip a beat.

You have no idea what you're doing to me.

"Good! I hope you like it,"

"Oh I'm sure I will, you never cease to impress me," she smiles. I didn't see but I know she was smiling.

"Really?" my smile cracks open.

"Yeah. The things you do and say, take me by surprise sometimes," She nods her head.

It was something I was truly happy to hear. I feel like things couldn't be going more right for me right now. I drove until I reached my favorite little Chinese place and I pulled into the drive thru.

I felt a lump in my throat "Um d- do you know what you want?" my voice cracked. Shit.

She doesn't acknowledge it at all. Thank god. "Hmm I'm not sure, maybe some sweet and sour chicken? Do you know what you want?" she asks me.

"Probably lo mein noodles, the noodles here are really fucking good!"

"I love the noodles too!" Olivia exclaims. "This is one of my favorite Chinese takeout places,"

"No way, mine too!" we smile at each other. I pull up to the menu board on the side of the building and try to decide what I want. I decide on the lo mein noodles.

"Do you want some cream cheese wantons?"

"Um, YES!" She says excitedly. "Is that even a question?!"

"You know what you want?" I ask.

"Yes, I want the medium sweet and sour chicken with rice and a Sprite to drink,"

We pull up the the window to order.

"Can I help you?" A young Chinese girl asks from the window.

"Yeah I just need a large lo mein noodle with chicken, and a Dr. Pepper and then a large sweet and sour chicken with rice and a Sprite. And also a large order of cream cheese wantons."

"17.56," she says.

Olivia rifles through her purse and finds her wallet, she pulls her money out and starts to hand it to me. I push her hand away, "don't worry about it, okay? I got it." I smile at her.

She smiles back and looks unsure, "Jordon are you sure?"

"Of course, I got you." I smile at her, assuring her, then I hand the girl at the window a 20. She gives me a card with a number on it, "please pull up," I pull the car up into a waiting spot.

I notice Olivia is looking down, "Thank you Jordon," she says quietly. "You didn't have to do that,"

"I wanted to, I'm really happy to treat you Olivia," I smile, she looks back up at me with a smile of her own.

"You're the best, I love you" she puts her hands on the side of my face and starts kissing me again, like she did at the house. Like she did the first time we kissed, I remember suddenly.

I pull a little ways away and smile "you're the best, and I love you," then I grab her and pull her back to me, kissing her again. Would I ever get enough of this woman?

We got lost in the moment until we heard a knock on the car window. It was another lady with our food. I rolled down the window and grabbed the food, thanking her before rolling the window back up. Olivia and I looked at each other and shared a good laugh.

"She was looking at us like we were crazyyyy," Olivia said, still laughing.

"We are, aren't we?..." I pondered the thought, "I know I'm crazy about you" I took a sip of my Dr. Pepper and put my car in reverse to pull out. What happens next I did not expect.

"Is that true?" she smiled "And yeah I'd say I'm kinda crazy haha," she giggled.

DID I SAY THAT OUT LOUD? I spit my drink out, all over my shirt and the left pant leg of my jeans, thank god it wasn't a big drink and double thank god I didn't spit Dr. Pepper all over Olivia. I stop my car and put it in park.

"Jordon! Oh my god are you okay?" She asked, looking horrified. She opens the Chinese food bag and pulls out a handful of napkins and hands them to me.

"Y-yeah, thanks," I stuttered. I let out a huge sigh and face palmed "man what the fuck?" I was the farthest thing from cool right now. If I had a list of uncool things I'd done this would be at the top.

"What happened?" A concerned look on my girlfriend's face.

"I don't know, think I just had some soda go down the wrong pipe," I coughed, dabbing the napkins on my shirt and pants.

"Do you wanna go home a change?"

"No I think I'll be fine, I have an extra shirt in my trunk and my pants didn't get that much soda on them," I didn't want to risk the wine getting warm.

I undid my seatbelt and popped the trunk, and I got out to change my shirt. I tossed my ruined white shirt in the trunk and put the gray shirt I had in my trunk on, which is really fucking comfortable. I sighed and closed the trunk. Don't worry Jordon this was just a bump in the road.

"Feel better?" Olivia asks as I get back in the car. Did I feel better?

"Much,"

"Good," she smiles.

I put the car in drive and we're on our way.
